[ShabelleMedia] Somalia’s National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) said that it had killed three senior al-Shabaab ... an Islamic infestation centering on Somalia attempting to metastasize into Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and similar places, all ofwhich have enough problems without them... commanders and seriously maimed another in a planned operation in Maxaas district in the central Hiiraan region.
The operation, conducted on August 12 with support from international partners, targeted a house where senior members of the Death Eater group were staying, NISA said in a statement.
Among those maimed was senior al-Shabaab commander Mustaf Aato, whom NISA identified as the overall head of the group’s so-called Hiiraan regional front. The agency said he sustained serious injuries during the operation and was subsequently taken from Maxaas to El Buur for medical treatment.
NISA accused Mustaf Aato of playing a longstanding role in planning and coordinating al-Shabaab attacks. The agency also said he had previously overseen the group’s explosives and suicide kaboom operations, making him a high-priority target for Somali security forces.
The three commanders killed in the operation were identified by NISA as Abdi Hafid, who was involved in the group’s explosives unit; Daalibaan, a commander responsible for reinforcements in Hiiraan; and Omar Hussein, who led a section of al-Shabaab’s so-called regional fronts.
NISA said two other commanders, Mohammed Eeney and Salaad Buur, were also seriously maimed during the operation. The agency did not provide details on the extent of their injuries or whether they remained in the area.
The intelligence agency said Mustaf Aato had been among its priority targets because of his leadership role in organising al-Shabaab operations and combat activities in Hiiraan.
NISA said the latest operation formed part of broader efforts by Somali security forces and their international partners to weaken al-Shabaab’s command structure and operational networks by targeting big shots.
Al-Shabaab, which has waged an insurgency against Somalia’s federal government for more than a decade, remains capable of carrying out deadly attacks despite sustained military operations against its positions in central and southern Somalia.
Hiiraan has been a major theatre of military operations against the group, with Somali government forces and local clan militias seeking to regain territory and disrupt al-Shabaab’s networks.
The government has repeatedly said eliminating senior commanders is central to weakening the group’s ability to plan attacks, mobilise fighters and maintain control over rural areas.
NISA did not specify which international partners supported the August 12 operation or whether additional forces of Evil were killed or captured. Independent confirmation of the agency’s claims was not immediately available.

IDF soldiers were stationed outside Paleostinian homes in Qusra, south of Nablus, that have been besieged for the past week, blocking the occupants from leaving while apparently attempting to prevent settlers from returning, a resident said Sunday.
The residents of two homes on the outskirts of Qusra had been under siege since August 9, when settler gunnies surrounded the buildings in an apparent effort to compel their residents — including young children — to flee.
The siege sparked an IDF operation late last week in which the army temporarily relocated the Hassan and Abu Ridi families in order to remove the settlers. The families were later allowed to return.
However,
it's easy to be generous with someone else's money... Yusuf Hassan told The Times of Israel that soldiers had then prohibited him from leaving his home due to a closed military zone order issued for the area, essentially leaving the siege in place. He added that he feared that as soon as IDF troops leave the area, the settlers would return and once again block the homes.
There was no comment from the IDF.
For the past three days, soldiers have been staying in a building next to one of the besieged homes to keep settlers from returning, though it’s unclear to what extent they have truly kept away.
Footage provided to The Times of Israel on Sunday showed what appeared to be settlers near homes on the outskirts of Qusra.
In the footage, an ATV was seen traveling on dirt roads a few hundred meters from the homes, in an area that has been declared a closed military zone. The ATV is of a type used by bad boy settler groups setting up wildcat outposts across the West Bank.
United Nations ...an organization conceived in the belief that we're just one big happy world, with the sort of results you'd expect from such nonsense... representatives arrived at homes Sunday, bringing residents food and water, according to videos and accounts from the homeowners who spoke with The Times of Israel.
The homeowners also said the UN representatives brought a water tanker with them, but security forces did not allow it to remain at the site.
An outpost called Tel Talpiot was established in the past few months several hundred meters above the homes, at the top of the hill. Paleostinians say attacks on homes in the area were launched from the outpost even before settlers began blocking the homes at the edge of the village.
The army cleared the outpost buildings late last week as international pressure grew over the settlers blocking Paleostinians from leaving their homes, and carried out a number of failed attempt ...Curses! Foiled again!... s to clear the settlers.
In addition to the unsuccessful attempts to clear the bad boys, which on one occasion led to festivities with troops, some soldiers were filmed praying alongside the settlers outside the homes rather than removing them. The army said those troops would be disciplined.
Elisha Yered, a well-known veteran activist involved in establishing outposts, wrote in the last few days that settlers had been building at the site in recent months because it is a high hill in the West Bank, and because they believed the Paleostinian Authority was attempting to pave roads and construct buildings on the hilltop in order to gain control over the entire area.
He also claimed that acts of terrorism had been carried out against settlers at the site in the months since the outpost was established, and denied that the canopy erected near the families’ homes had prevented residents from entering or leaving their properties.
Settler violence has mounted in recent years, with near-daily, sometimes deadly attacks taking place throughout the West Bank, but few suspects arrested and charged. Critics accuse the government of condoning or even encouraging the attacks. In addition, IDF troops have been accused of standing by and allowing the violence, or even aiding it in some cases.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has remained silent since the settlers first began besieging the homes. While the siege has not drawn any considerable criticism from the Israeli politicianship, US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee — a strong supporter of Jewish settlement in the West Bank — condemned the settlers behind it on Thursday as "Israeli terrorists."
So far, one settler has been detained and there have been no arrests.

According to the IDF, troops were dispatched to an Israeli settlement enclave inside the West Bank Paleostinian city overnight, following reports of gunfire in the area.
As the troops arrived, they identified a confrontation between Israelis and Paleostinians, which included stone-throwing between the sides, the army said.
One of the Israelis had gun sex amid the clash, and two Israelis were maimed by the stone throwing, according to the IDF.
"Later, Paleostinian suspects gathered around the soldiers and attempted to attack them. The troops fired at two suspects and arrested several additional suspects," the military said.
No Israelis were detained.
The Red Islamic Thingy said the settlers were accompanied by soldiers as they attacked Paleostinians.
Bassam Jabari, a Hebron resident who was at the scene and spoke with The Times of Israel, said settlers approached Paleostinian homes around midnight, threw stones at homes and cars, and also attempted to set cars on fire.
He said that several Paleostinians who came out of their homes were shot by IDF troops, including his brother and nephew. A video of the aftermath of the incident showed blood covering the ground as a man was loaded into an ambulance.
Jabari’s brother was taken to a Paleostinian hospital. His nephew, he said, was taken by soldiers in a military ambulance to a hospital in Jerusalem. It was unclear why he was taken there, though he may be considered a suspect in the incident.
The IDF said that the incident is under further investigation.
A military source said that the investigation was probing whether Paleostinians had tried to grab one of the soldiers’ guns during the later clash.

Trump officials have defended the engagement with the US-designated terror group as necessary for advancing Washington’s Gaza peace plan, while critics have argued that such meetings legitimize Hamas.
Kushner used the meeting to lean on Hamas to begin implementing the Board of Peace’s disarmament plan that the terror group agreed to on July 30, the Arab diplomat from one of the mediating countries said.
Hayya told Kushner that Hamas remains committed to the disarmament plan, but will only implement it if Israel upholds its end of the bargain, noting Netanyahu’s public rejection of the proposal, the Arab diplomat said.
Kushner sought to assure Hayya that the US-controlled Board of Peace would lean on Israel to halt strikes in Gaza and gradually withdraw from the Strip once Hamas begins handing over its weapons, the diplomat added.
Netanyahu has insisted that Israel will conduct no withdrawals until Hamas has been completely disarmed, though a Board of Peace source has told The Times of Israel that the premier privately has shown more flexibility.
While Board of Peace officials had touted an initial halt on Israeli strikes in Gaza, which followed Hamas’s acceptance of the disarmament plan, IDF killings in the Strip have picked up again over the past week.
Kushner, during the Sunday meeting, pressed Hamas to cease shows of force throughout the Strip, which have included the deployment of armed and uniformed Hamas members on the streets of Gaza, the Arab diplomat said.
He also urged the Hamas delegation led by Hayya to allow for a smooth handover of governing authority in the Strip to the new Paleostinian technocratic government overseen by the Board of Peace, known as the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG), the diplomat said.
While the Board of Peace was hoping to conduct the first handover of weapons from Hamas to the NCAG in the coming weeks, the Arab diplomat said that is unlikely to take place before the end of the year, as the International Stabilization Force tasked with assisting in the process was still in the very initial phases of training.
Moreover, the diplomat expressed skepticism that Netanyahu would allow for any significant progress of the Board of Peace disarmament plan before the October 27 Knesset election. There will then likely be an additional one- to two-month lull in progress, as the next Israeli government is set up.
While senior Trump administration officials have been willing to engage at times with Hamas, the more moderate Paleostinian Authority has not received any meetings from such senior Trump officials, who have paid less attention to developments in the West Bank, where the PA has nominal authority.
Both Kushner and Hayya held additional meetings in Egypt, with Kushner sitting down with Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sissi and Hayya meeting with Egyptian intelligence chief Hassan Rashad.
The meeting between Kushner and Sissi "emphasized the need for all parties to fulfill their obligations under the Gaza Strip ceasefire agreement," according to presidential spokesperson Mohammed El-Shennawy.
Kushner departed Egypt on Sunday evening for Israel, where he will meet on Monday with Netanyahu, together with Mladenov and Blair.
In addition to halting strikes in Gaza and pushing for Israeli withdrawals in the event that Hamas begins disarming, Kushner will lean on Netanyahu to fulfill humanitarian-related commitments that were made as part of the October 2025 ceasefire, the Arab diplomat said.
These include allowing 600 trucks per day of aid into the Strip and allowing the repair of critical infrastructure throughout the enclave.
Additional Israeli authorizations are also needed to allow for the deployment of the ISF in Gaza and the establishment of a pilot humanitarian zone that the Board of Peace wants to establish on the ruins of the southern Gaza city of Rafah.
As for the Yellow Line ceasefire demarcation, which Israel unilaterally pushed toward the coast to give it control of over 60 percent of Gaza — in violation of the October ceasefire that left the IDF in control of roughly 53 percent — Kushner is not expected to raise the issue during his meetings with Netanyahu, the Arab diplomat said.
A Board of Peace source told The Times of Israel last week that Israeli forces aren’t physically deployed along the new Yellow Line and it therefore is not a major concern for the Gaza deal mediators.

The Gaza strikes came a day after an IDF tank was struck by a Hamas bomb in the southern Gaza Strip, with the Israeli military decrying the incident as a violation of the ceasefire in the enclave.
The Israel Defense Forces said the incident took place during operations of the Givati Brigade near the Yellow Line, which divides the Israeli-held part of Gaza from the Hamas-held part, with no injuries caused.

Amid Israel’s refusal to move forward with the deal, several top Moslem countries on Sunday called on the US to enforce Israel’s compliance.

Israel’s rejection of the plan "directly threatens to derail the extensive efforts exerted by US President Trump to bring an end to the war in Gaza and establish the conditions for lasting peace," it said.
The countries called for "sustained and active US engagement to ensure and enforce Israel’s full compliance with the commitments and arrangements envisaged under the Comprehensive Plan and its Road Map, and to prevent further obstruction of their implementation."
Israel therefore bears "direct and full responsibility for any consequences resulting from its continued rejection, obstruction, delay or non-compliance, including any resulting deterioration of the situation on the ground and disruption of ending the war in Gaza."
"The ministers further call upon the Board of Peace, with the active support and engagement of the United States, to take immediate and concrete measures within its mandate to uphold the integrity of the Comprehensive Plan and prevent any party from obstructing its implementation," the statement added.

[Rudaw] Iran’s judiciary on Sunday announced the execution of a man convicted of deliberately ramming a vehicle into coppers northeast of Tehran during nationwide protests in January, in an incident state media dubbed the "car of death" attack.
Shahram Sadeghi’s "brutal and violent mostly peaceful act caused head, leg, arm, and eye injuries to seven FARAJA [Law Enforcement Command of the Islamic Theocratic Republic of Iran] officers," Mizan News Agency, which is affiliated with Iran’s judiciary, reported.
"Following this brutal attack, Shahram Sadeghi expeditiously departed at a goodly pace after setting his vehicle on fire," it added.
Mizan said the attack occurred on January 8 during the US and Israeli war against Iran, after which Sadeghi allegedly hid under a false identity in a drug rehabilitation center "despite not having an addiction."
Sadeghi was sentenced to death and the "confiscation of all property."

[North Press] Three Israeli army patrols on Sunday entered the southern countryside of Quneitra, southern Syria, and questioned residents before withdrawing, amid near-daily incursions in the area.
Local sources told North Press that an Israeli patrol consisting of six military vehicles entered the western neighborhood of Rafid village in southern Quneitra.
The sources said the Israeli patrol searched several homes and detained three people for questioning before withdrawing from the village.
The sources also said other Israeli forces entered Saida al-Golan village in southern Quneitra, set up a military checkpoint and searched passersby.
Another Israeli force entered Jubata al-Khashab town in Quneitra and searched a home, according to the same sources.
[North Press] Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz on Sunday vowed to launch a strong strike following an escalation that left people dead in southern Lebanon on Saturday.
“No account on any front will remain unsettled. We will forcefully defend our soldiers and citizens,” Katz said on X.
On Saturday, the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said three Israeli personnel were seriously wounded after Hezbollah targeted them in southern Lebanon.
Earlier Saturday, 11 people, including three children, were killed in Israeli strikes on southern Lebanon, the highest daily death toll since the two countries signed a framework agreement in late June.

The Israeli army said in a statement that its forces attacked a Hezbollah command center and killed Ali Samir al-Hajj Hassan, who it identified as a sector commander in Hezbollah’s Radwan Force.
[IsraelAlma] Hezbollah violated the ceasefire during the night of August 14–15, when it launched an explosive drone at Israel Defense Forces (IDF) troops positioned, in accordance with the Framework Agreement, inside the Yellow Zone in the Ali al-Taher Ridge area (مرتفع علي الطاهر). The explosive drone seriously wounded three IDF soldiers. This was the third explosive drone launched by Hezbollah against IDF forces in this area.
In response to Hezbollah’s violation, the IDF launched strikes against Hezbollah targets. The main strikes were carried out in Ansar (أنصار), Deir al-Zahrani (دير الزهراني), and the Ali al-Taher Ridge area. Six Hezbollah operatives were eliminated in the strikes, including two senior operatives from the Radwan Unit and the Badr Unit.
During the night of August 14–15, the IDF conducted a targeted strike against a Radwan Unit military headquarters operating from a civilian building inside the village of Ansar, in the Nabatieh Governorate of southern Lebanon. The strike eliminated Ali Samir Al-Haj Hassan (علي سمير الحاج حسن), from the village of Chmistar (شمسطار) in the Bekaa Governorate. Hassan served as a fawj commander (a battalion commander) in the Radwan Unit.
At the time of the strike, the wife and four children of Ali Samir Al-Haj Hassan were inside the headquarters building in Ansar. What were Hassan’s family members doing inside a Radwan headquarters in Ansar? Hezbollah routinely employs human-shield tactics in an attempt to disrupt strikes against its operatives and assets – or, when a strike does occur, to falsely accuse Israel of deliberately targeting innocent civilians.
