[FOX] Iran-backed Houthi rebels killed at least seven people and injured more than a dozen others in an attack Sunday on the crucial Red Sea port of Mokha, Yemen's National Resistance Forces said.
The group, which is allied with Yemen's internationally recognized government, said four troops and three civilians were killed, while 15 civilians were injured in the attack on the Red Sea port.
Fayed al-Noman, an official with Yemen's information ministry, said the Houthis fired missiles and drones at Mokha, severely damaging buildings and a pier as well as commercial goods and food supplies stored at the facility.
The Houthis later claimed responsibility, saying they launched “a large number of ballistic missiles and drones” targeting military forces and warehouses in the area.
Mokha is one of the main ports controlled by Yemen's internationally recognized government and has been renovated in recent years to accommodate shipping that avoids Houthi-held ports in Hodeida.
The deadly attack came as the Houthis also claimed a drone strike on a Saudi Aramco refinery in Jazan, Saudi Arabia. Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree said that attack was in response to Saudi drones allegedly breaching Yemeni airspace over Hajjah and Saada.
Saudi Arabia's Energy Ministry reported a fire at the Aramco facility early Sunday but did not identify its cause. The ministry said the fire was extinguished and there were no casualties.

Ibrahim Hussein Hassan was sentenced by the Kahawa Law Courts after prosecutors proved that he was a member of the Somalia-based murderous Moslem group and had collected information and possessed material linked to terrorist activities.
Although the individual sentences add up to 115 years, they will run concurrently, meaning Hassan will effectively serve 20 years in prison.
The case dates back to Hassan’s arrest in September 2022 in Nairobi’s Eastleigh district. Prosecutors presented forensic evidence from his Samsung mobile phone, which contained three videos described as Death Eater propaganda.
The court also ordered Hassan to undergo a deradicalisation programme while serving his sentence.

Troops of the Nigerian Army and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) have intercepted three suspected terrorists in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State.
The suspects were intercepted at about 2:14 p.m. on Aug. 5 by troops of 73 Battalion, in collaboration with the CJTF, around the Kayamla general area of Konduga LGA.
According to a military source, the suspects claimed to be repentant terrorists undergoing rehabilitation at the Bulumkutu Rehabilitation Centre and said they were visiting their farms.
However, one of the suspects was allegedly found in possession of two rounds of 7.62 x 39mm ammunition.
Troops of the Nigerian Army have arrested a suspected Boko Haram terrorist logistics supplier during a joint operation with local hunters in Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
The suspect, identified as Mallam Badamasi Maikudi, 40, was arrested at about 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 6 in Garaha town, following suspicious movements within the community.
According to military sources, troops of 232 Battalion (Tactical), working with a hunters’ group, apprehended the suspect after observing his activities in the area.
Preliminary information indicated that Maikudi was allegedly a regular supplier of energy soft drinks and foodstuffs to a suspected terrorist location.
The suspect is currently in military custody and is undergoing investigation to establish the extent of his links with the terrorist network.

Hasna, a 45-year-old Ottoman Turkish national, was ordered held pending extradition to New York, where he will face a federal court.
Hasna worked closely with Hamas’s big shotship to deliver supplies, food and funding to Hamas under the guise of humanitarian aid, said the US federal prosecutor assigned to the case.
The US Justice Department accused Hasna of using "his senior role at a purported global humanitarian organization to raise funds and provide financing and commodities to Hamas."

Toronto police announced two arrests on Thursday in connection with the shooting at a US consulate in the city last month, calling the accused "criminals for hire."
