What odds not a penny of the funds he send home to Somalia ended up in the Al Shabaab kitty?
[ShabelleMedia] The FBI is adding Fahad Mohammed Nur to its Most Wanted Fraudsters List, accusing the Minnesota businessman of allegedly stealing more than $5 million that was intended to feed children during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Nur has been on the run since 2022 and is wanted for his alleged role in a fraud scheme that exploited Minnesota’s Federal Child Nutrition Program during the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the FBI. The bureau alleges he owned a vendor and purported food supplier that received more than $5 million in fraudulent program funds by submitting fake invoices before laundering the proceeds.
The bureau believes Nur has ties to Somalia and may currently be living there.
The FBI is offering a reward of up to $150,000 for information leading to Nur’s arrest and conviction.
Nur is the latest addition to the FBI’s Most Wanted Fraudsters List, which officials say has already resulted in the arrests of two runaways within weeks of its launch.
"Under President Trump’s and Vice President Vance’s leadership with the White House Task Force to Eliminate Fraud, the FBI’s historic ’Most Wanted Fraudsters list’ has already seen tremendous success — with two subjects brought to justice in a matter of weeks, apprehended out of Somalia and the Philippines," FBI Director Kash Patel said in a statement to Fox News Digital.
Patel said the early arrests demonstrate that the FBI is aggressively pursuing runaways accused of stealing from American taxpayers.
"Our newest subject — Fahad Mohammed Nur — has been on the run since 2022 for allegedly stealing over $5 million from a child nutrition program in Minnesota."
Patel added: "Collectively, the Task Force has already uncovered more than $13 billion in fraud, and the rapid success of the Most Wanted Fraudsters List should show all Americans that this FBI will [be] at the forefront pursuing the worst of the worst who stole from hardworking American taxpayers."
Federal officials say the investigation is part of a broader government effort targeting pandemic-era fraud.
"The Department’s robust partnership with the FBI and the White House Task Force to Eliminate Fraud has already delivered historic results. That partnership grows even stronger today with the addition of this latest subject to the Most Wanted Fraudsters list," said Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche. "President Trump has made it clear: Fraudsters no longer have a safe haven in America. Law enforcement will continue to use every tool at its disposal to bring those who steal from American taxpayers to justice."
The White House Task Force to Eliminate Fraud, led by Vice President JD Vance, has already uncovered more than $13 billion in fraud, according to the FBI.

Another Blue State Ignores Daycares With No Kids Despite Massive Subsidies
[RedState] There's been a lot come to light about the extensive fraud perpetrated on the American taxpayers: Medicare and Medicaid fraud, COVID relief fraud, food aid fraud, and, not least of all, daycare fraud. All of these are funneling money, in the millions, likely billions, away from the people it was intended to help and into the pockets of fraudsters.
Now, add some more to the list: A recent investigation by The Center Square, in Washington, has revealed a bunch of "daycare" operations that had no children, but which were taking big, fat payments from the taxpayers.
Many Washington state daycare providers receive large taxpayer subsidies, but an investigation by The Center Square found several that had few, if any, children and at least one establishment that received hundreds of thousands of dollars despite residents at the listed address indicating it was not a daycare.
Yet politicians charged with overseeing the spending continue to publicly say there is no problem with improper payments to the daycares and, instead, have been criticizing journalists for investigating the potential fraud. No state official has announced an investigation or crackdown though the legislature instituted some reforms last session.
Some of these supposed daycare centers were receiving over $20,000 per month, with no children in evidence. That's a calamity, a horrendous fraud perpetrated on the taxpayers of the state of Washington, and politicians with oversight insist there's no problem. Well, I don't know about you, but I sure see a problem. The state Attorney General sees a problem, too, although fraud isn't what he perceives as the problem so much as the people who are exposing the fraud.
Attorney General Nick Brown responded by encouraging anyone who would see a reporter “harassing” a daycare provider by knocking on the door, to report it to the hate crimes hotline.
“Showing up on someone’s porch, threatening, or harassing them isn’t an investigation," noted Brown’s Dec 30, 2025, press release. "Neither is filming minors who may be in the home. This is unsafe and potentially dangerous behavior. I encourage anyone experiencing threats or harassment to either contact local law enforcement or our office’s Hate Crimes & Bias Incident Hotline.”

The two federal member states argued that The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire... could not be considered an impartial mediator in discussions over Somalia’s key political issues, including the electoral process, accusing Ankara of providing direct support to the federal government in Mogadishu.
The decision comes amid heightened tensions between the Federal Government of Somalia and opposition groups over the country’s political future and election arrangements.
Representatives from Puntland and Jubbaland are, however, expected to participate in a broader meeting on Thursday involving Western diplomatic representatives, Turkey, the Federal Government, and opposition figures. The meeting is expected to mark the first formal dialogue bringing together all major stakeholders to discuss the electoral roadmap.
Turkey has played a prominent role in Somalia’s affairs in recent years, providing security assistance, development support, and diplomatic engagement with the federal government.
The two Federal States had previously raised objections within the Somali Future Council, an opposition political alliance, over Ankara’s involvement in Somalia’s internal affairs, arguing that Turkey should not serve as a mediator in election-related negotiations.
The disagreement highlights deep divisions among Somalia’s political actors as they seek consensus on the country’s electoral process and future governance arrangements.

[Blaze] The Office for National Statistics recorded nearly 6,000 newborns with the name in 2025.
The top baby name for boys born in England and Wales has held on to its crown for the third consecutive year.
The newly unveiled list, compiled by the Office for National Statistics, is based on birth data from the 2025 calendar year.
Muhammad, given to 5,957 newborn boys, topped the list, up 4% from 2024. Noah ranked second with 4,075, followed by Leo, Luca, and Arthur.
Alternate spellings of the top boy name also fared well, with Mohammed in 20th place and Mohammad in 55th place, increasing the count by an additional 2,600.
[BBC] The most popular names for babies born in 2025 in England and Wales have been revealed - with Lily moving up the charts into second place for girls.
Olivia held the top spot for the 10th year in a row for girls' names and Muhammad topped the list for boys' names for the third year running.
Amelia, which had been the second most popular girls' name previously, has dropped down to third, while Noah sits in second for boys. Leo has become the third most popular name for boys.
The list is released by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) and used birth registration data from the last full calendar year.

Fox News Digital obtained recordings of the calls from Charleston County Dispatch, which reveal multiple residents calling dispatchers shortly before 8:30 p.m. as a city-permitted Fourth of July block party in North Charleston's Chicora-Cherokee neighborhood began spiraling out of control.
Callers reported people openly carrying guns, hearing repeated gunfire and fearing for their safety as officers struggled to disperse hundreds of attendees before multiple officers were assaulted, and six people were later charged.
... "I called 45 minutes ago and asked to have officers come out here to break up a group of kids with firearms, and now there's like a full-out war going on outside my f---ing front door," the caller told a dispatcher.
Dispatch logs show officers soon reported more than 500 people at the gathering while requesting every available unit to help disperse the crowd.
The same caller later reported seeing what appeared to be muzzle flashes.
... "I just watched about six of them that have f---ing muzzle flash," the caller said. "It looked like they were f---ing shooting at each other and running in opposite directions."
Another resident in the area told dispatchers that one person in the crowd shouted, "Get the strap," before the caller heard gunfire moments later.
"I came inside and about 10 seconds later I heard three gunshots," the caller said. "I need officers over here please."
Another homeowner reported watching teenagers fire a handgun into the ground from across the street.
"I got a group of like teenage kids across my street... shooting a gun into the... ground," the caller said, adding the individual tucked the weapon back into his waistband.
... "I have my gun in my hand. If they come on my property, I will kill somebody," the caller said, noting that he heard 20 to 30 shots. "I have on camera several individuals. We've been calling all night about this. We need people posted out here."
As the response intensified, officers were instructed not to respond alone and to pair up while working the crowd.
Police previously said officers responded around 8:30 p.m. after receiving reports of people firing fireworks toward passing vehicles before learning attendees had begun discharging firearms.
Officers repeatedly ordered the crowd to disperse, but multiple fights broke out, and additional gunfire was reported, prompting officers to leave their patrol vehicles to restore order.

Bush made the statement at a United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI) event on Wednesday, standing next to an Iranian Shahed-136 drone. The Shahed family of drones are cheap but effective kamikaze weapons that Iran has used extensively in the Middle East, in addition to shipping them to Russia for use against Ukraine.
"We have decimated Iran's capability to make mischief in the region. There's no doubt about it," said Bush, who is UANI's chairman, adding that he applauds the Trump administration for their work.
"I also want to point out that the press reports are that there are 300 of these in Cuba," Bush said, gesturing toward the drone.
"We have very good defense capabilities, so this is not a press conference to scare the bejesus out of people. The United States does have capabilities of defending the homeland, for sure," Bush qualified before saying the drones nevertheless pose "a threat."
Bush was joined at the event by Rep. Carlos Gimenez, R-Fla., who warned attendees that while Shahed drones are a "terror weapon," they are also the future of how wars are going to be fought.
"This is the face of warfare," he said of the drone, noting that AI capabilities were drastically advancing the effectiveness of drones. "This is how war is going to be carried out in the future, and it's being carried out right now."
Gimenez emphasized the effectiveness of drones in the war in Ukraine, where Kyiv's forces have manufactured millions of small explosive drones for their defense, and to great effect.
Former U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Mark Wallace, now CEO of UANI, also spoke at the event, calling the Shahed drone "the ubiquitous terror weapon of mass destruction in modern warfare."
"This drone has struck our allies across the region, killed American troops, our allies across the region... and has been raining terror across the Middle East at our bases and the like," Wallace said.
Wallace told Fox News Digital that the drones in Cuba were transferred years ago, before the current conflict between the U.S. and Iran.
[Breitbart] Germany has sealed a deal to buy an unspecified amount of long-range Tomahawk cruise missiles from the United States, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz confirmed Thursday.
Merz made the announcement speaking at the Bundestag parliament after returning from this week’s NATO Summit, hosted by Turkey in the city of Ankara. Merz detailed that Germany struck the deal with the U.S. government on the sidelines of the event — noting that the agreement “exceeded his expectations.”
The German chancellor also disclosed to the German parliament that the Tomahawk missile deal is the result of previous negotiations between him, President Donald Trump, and senior security officials from both nations.
“On the sidelines of the NATO summit in Ankara we also agreed with the American government that Tomahawk missiles would be purchased by us and stationed in Germany,” Merz reportedly said at the Bundestag.
“With this we are closing an important strategic gap in our defense. And at the same time we will work on developing our own European systems and deploying them in Europe,” he continued.
Die Welt, citing German government sources, reports that a letter of intent signed by the German Defense Ministry and the U.S. Department of War sees the United States granting official approval of the sale by August. The deal also includes the procurement of the Tomahawk missiles’ corresponding ground-based Typhon launchers.
The exact number of missiles and launchers that Germany intends to purchase is kept classified. The deployment of U.S. personnel to operate the missile systems is reportedly not part of the letter of intent signed by both nations. Long range cruise missiles, such as the U.S.-made Tomahawk, are reportedly a key part of Germany’s deterrence strategy against Russia.
Speaking with Deutschlandfunk Radio on Thursday, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius welcome the Tomahawk missile deal, describing it as a sign of trust from the United States to Germany and as a strong sign of the transatlantic friendship with the U.S. government.
“The United States of America possesses key capabilities that we in Europe cannot do without,” Pistorius reportedly said, and added that while Germany is commitment to building up Europe’s defense industry, purchasing Tomahawk missiles from the U.S. is “the only way” to deliver on the nation’s commitments to NATO.
Euronews pointed out that, presently, no European-made alternatives that can match the range and strike capabilities of America’s Tomahawk missiles. The missiles have a range of about 1,000 miles, and feature guidance systems that allow it to strike targets deep inland or in hostile territory. Tomahawk missiles are capable of flying at around 100 feet off the ground, making them harder to detect by defense systems.
Earlier this week, the United Kingdom announced that it is leading a $50 billion joint investment of twelve European NATO members towards the development of deep precision strike weapons over the next decade.
A German government source claimed to Euronews that Berlin intends to cover “roughly half” of the $50 billion project.
The Tomahawk cruise missile, a long-range weapon in the U.S. military’s arsenal since the 1980s, is known for its ability to fly at low altitudes, making it difficult to detect, and boasts a range of approximately 1,000 miles with precision guidance.

In April, Mamdani would reveal another reason he was against the operation: Because it was helping further expose an inconvenient truth about the Big Apple. "While this war has exacerbated a cost-of-living crisis, that is a crisis that existed from even before the time I was running for mayor, and it’s reflected in the fact that we are the most expensive city in the United States of America," he told NBC News at the time.
With all of that in mind, raise your hand if you didn't see this one coming a mile away: an official in the Mamdani administration had plans to meet with Iran's United Nations ambassador just two days ago... but got shut down by the State Department once they learned of it:

Ragab Abdelmoneim is not some wild-eyed fanatic screaming obscenities on a streetcorner. On the contrary, he is a prominent, respected member of the Moslem community in the U.S. today. Alabama’s 1819 News reported recently that he is "now the Imam and ’Resident Scholar’ at the Islamic Center of Maryland." An Alabama publication is reporting on him because before he moved to Maryland, he served as a holy man at the Islamic Academy in Huntsville, Ala., and was also a "part-time lecturer at the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH)."
In Huntsville, Abdelmoneim was the Islamic Academy’s "first full-time imam," and he was an excellent choice for this distinction, as he has an impeccable educational background. He "began his religious career as a holy man at the Liverpool Islamic Academy in 2009. In 2013, after teaching and graduating from Al Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt, Abdelmoneim relocated to the academy in Huntsville."
To graduate from al-Azhar is like graduating from Harvard, Yale, and Princeton. It is the most respected institution in Sunni Islam. And yet Ragab Abdelmoneim does not seem to be interested in presenting a moderate face to non-Moslems in America. "In a now widely circulated video on social media," according to 1819 News, "Abdelmoneim called for Moslems to expand Sharia law by any means necessary, including through bloodshed."
Abdelmoneim said: "We need to... have some people to love their religion and to sacrifice for their religion, sacrifice their money and their blood and their wealth for the sake of Allah."
It’s easy to understand what Abdelmoneim meant when he said that Moslems should be willing to sacrifice their money and wealth for the sake of Allah. Every religion takes up collections, and the Qur’an exhorts Moslems to "spend your wealth for the sake of Allah" (2:195).
But what does Abdelmoneim mean when he calls upon Moslems to sacrifice their blood? Is he envisioning some nightmare scenario in which "Islamophobes" are murdering Moslems wholesale? That’s fanciful to the point of being completely unbelievable.
Also, Abdelmoneim most certainly knows that the Qur’an calls upon Moslems to "kill them wherever you find them" (2:191, 4:89, 4:91, cf. 9:5), and makes it clear that Allah favors those who fight unbelievers over those who do not do so: "Those of the believers who sit still, other than those who have an injury, are not equal with those who wage jihad in the way of Allah with their wealth and lives. Allah has conferred on those who wage jihad with their wealth and lives a rank above the sedentary. Allah has promised good to each, but he has bestowed on those who wage jihad a great reward above that of the sedentary, degrees of rank from him, and forgiveness and mercy. Allah is always forgiving, merciful." (Qur’an 4:95-6)
Whatever he means, Abdelmoneim is worried about "Islamophobes" supposedly spreading falsehoods about Islam: "Corrupt and wicked politicians, leaders, and officials," he claimed, "they propagate and perpetuate this kind of hatred in their discourse, in their rhetoric, in their communication in the media, just to demonize and to put people down and to stigmatize Moslems and minorities."
As a result of the spreading of this hatred, he said, many Americans were suspicious of Islam: "The [American people] developed a lot of attitudes, including hatred, animosity, against the Moslem Ummah, against the community, and against Islam itself...You can see what happened to our brothers and sisters in Dallas. They have a project, and they have a lot of challenges, legal challenges, because it will be the Sharia area."
And so he exhorted Moslems to fight back: "Allah told us about how to protect yourselves from their thinking, how to expose their plans and their plotting, how to be against them and stand against those people." All right. If Abdelmoneim really wants to expose the alleged "plotting" of these "corrupt and wicked politicians, leaders, and officials," he could start by apologizing, clarifying what he meant about Moslems sacrificing their blood, and calling upon Moslems in this country to renounce — sincerely — terrorism and any effort, violent mostly peaceful or stealthy, to bring Sharia to this land. But I wouldn’t hold my breath if I were you.

The last legislative elections in the Paleostinian territories of the West Bank and Gazoo

The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with a rusty iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... were held in 2006, when Hamas ..the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,... won, defeating Abbas’s Fatah party, which had previously dominated Paleostinian politics.
As a result, the Paleostinian Legislative Council (PLC), which is the parliament of Abbas’s Paleostinian Authority, has not met since 2007.
"The presidential decree calls on the Paleostinian people in Jerusalem, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip to participate in free and direct legislative elections to elect members of the Paleostinian Legislative Council on the date specified," the official Wafa news agency reported, citing the decree.
Holding elections is part of the reforms demanded by the international community, including the European Union ...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing... , which supports the Ramallah-based Paleostinian Authority financially.
The decree was issued four days before the European Union convenes a donor conference in Brussels for the PA, which is desperate for funds needed to continue providing basic services to Paleostinians in the West Bank. For 16 straight months, Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has blocked the transfer of billions of dollars in Paleostinian clearance revenues, which make up the bulk of the PA’s budget.
Smotrich — who backs collapsing the PA and annexing the territory that it nominally controls — has also taken steps to severely hobble the Paleostinian banking sector, which as a result has been unable to make use of billions of shekels that are languishing in vaults in the West Bank.
Accordingly, the PA is hoping the EU and friendly Arab governments will be willing to help compensate for the funds withheld by Israel.
Abbas, 90, won the last Paleostinian presidential election in 2005 with a mandate of four years, meaning his term should have expired in 2009.
However,
there's more than one way to stuff a chicken... his term was extended and no presidential election has been held since, with Abbas ruling by presidential decree, facing criticism at home and abroad.
The Thursday decree made no mention of presidential elections, but a separate decree that Abbas signed in June said that they would be held in 2027.
Ghassan Khatib, a political science professor at Birzeit University, said he believed Abbas was now serious about holding elections for both domestic and international reasons.
"There is a feeling among everyone that Paleostinian legitimacy has eroded because of how long it has been since elections were held," Khatib told AFP, describing a "gap between the public and the leadership and a need to ’renew the blood'" at the top.
"The absence of a legislative council for such a long time has caused significant damage to the political system," he added.
The PA has faced widespread criticism over corruption, stagnation and declining legitimacy, with donors increasingly tying their financial and diplomatic support to reform, particularly of local governance.
LOGISTICAL CHALLENGES
In 2021, Abbas announced legislative and presidential elections to be held in May and July of that year, respectively.
They were then postponed indefinitely amid prospects of Hamas gains at the expense of Fatah and due to the absence of guarantees that voting could take place in Israel-annexed East Jerusalem.
In this vote, it is unclear whether Hamas or Hamas-linked parties will even be able to participate due to a new election law Abbas signed last month, which requires all candidates to accept the Paleostine Liberation Organization’s political program, which includes recognition of Israel and support for a two-state solution — both nonstarters for Hamas.
In April, Paleostinians went to the polls to elect municipal council heads in the West Bank, in the first vote since the outbreak of the Gaza war in October 2023.
That vote was extended to include the central Gaza town of Deir al-Balah, as part of the PA’s effort to return to the Strip. Abbas’s Thursday decree envisions PLC elections taking place in all of Gaza, in what is sure to pose a logistical challenge, given the level of displacement and destruction from the Israel-Hamas war.
