a second U.S. official warned of harsh consequences if Iran refuses.

Simply, the FLA withdrew from the city (also to avoid Russian drones), and the soldiers from the base went to resupply, taking a few photos before waiting for the convoy (another logical move here). Rumors say that the Rebels are also bringing reinforcements to the area (particularly JNIM), and it's possible they choose to intercept the convoy before it arrives in Anéfif.
Everything is still evolving and there hasn't been a battle yet.

Jamey Carney, a 43-year-old American originally from New York, was found beaten to death in her home in County Kerry, where she had lived for around 5 years with her teenage daughter.
A Middle Eastern asylum seeker in his 20s is being hunted by police in connection with the brutal murder. He occasionally stayed at Carney’s house, where her body was discovered. Judging by her social media, the two appeared to be dating, as she often posted romantic videos and pictures with him.
There are growing fears the suspect may attempt to flee Ireland. He previously lived in France.
The New York mother beaten to death in her new home in Ireland shared a tragic, final post celebrating July 4th — lovingly posing with the asylum-seeking boyfriend who is the suspect in her murder, according to police sources.
Westchester County native Jamey Carney, 43, posted a pic seemingly wishing she was back in the Big Apple, beaming alongside Ahmad Alsaqer, the 28-year-old now identified as the person of interest in the brutal crime.
"Happy 4th y’all," she wrote alongside the photo of them cuddling up in front of an AI-generated backdrop of Times Square, with the mom in Knicks T-shirt and Alsaqer in a Giants one.
It was posted Saturday, just three days before Carney’s 13-year-old daughter found her mother’s battered body hidden under cover at their rented home in Ireland’s Killarney.
Alsaqer, who moved to Ireland in 2024 seeking asylum, is suspected of beating Carney to death before boarding a bus from Killarney to Dublin early Tuesday morning and getting a last-minute flight to Istanbul, according to police sources in Ireland.
Cops are investigating the suspect’s possible contacts in both The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor... and La Belle France, where he also previously lived.
Alsaqer is also believed to have lived in the United Kingdom at some point before entering Ireland.
Carney, who worked in the healthcare industry, reportedly met Alsaqer around a year and a half ago, not long after he had entered Ireland.
Irish police have confirmed that the suspect has left Ireland, and may now intend to travel to Jordan or Syria from Turkey, reported the Irish Examiner.
Cops are investigating reports of a disturbance at Carney’s rented home on Monday evening, hours before she is believed to have been attacked.
She was discovered dead in her bed after her 13-year-old daughter alerted a family friend on Tuesday afternoon who called the police, reported the Irish Mirror.
Her body had been concealed under a duvet, the room was covered in blood, and Carney had suffered sustained severe head injuries as a result of a savage and extended assault, reported the outlet, citing police sources.

The charge, however, was not successful: "After seeing his colleague come under attack, a fellow officer on the scene shot the alleged knifeman, first in the arm, and then in the abdomen and side as the attacker continued to come towards him."

So this fellow attacked several of the "spiteful and filthy French" with a knife. He didn’t manage to "slaughter" any of them, but that was not for want of trying. Now, it may be a total coincidence that this Sudanese migrant was acting in full accord with jihadi exhortations to attack random civilians. The French authorities, in fact, are certain of it: "The prosecutor claimed that ’at this stage, no evidence suggests the terrorist nature of the facts.’"

[GENERALBUNDESANWALT.DE] The Federal Prosecutor's Office yesterday (July 8, 2026) arrested the Iraqi nationals, Khaled Al H. and Mahmoud a. on the basis of arrest warrants issued by the investigating judge of the Federal Court of Justice on June 24, 2026.
He was arrested in Schleswig-Holstein (Stormarn district) by officers of the Federal Criminal Police Office.
The accused are strongly suspected of membership in a foreign terrorist organization (Section 129a Paragraph 1 No. 1 of the German Criminal Code, Section 129b Paragraph 1 Sentences 1 and 2 of the German Criminal Code). Khaled Al H. is also accused of a war crime against property (Section 9 Paragraph 1 of the German Code of Crimes against International Law).

Though extremist groups often mobilize to counter spikes in demonstration activity from groups they ideologically oppose, this increase in activity took place despite only a moderate increase in pro-LGBTQ+ demonstrations in June. The majority of these demonstrations were held in opposition to local Pride events.
This spike reflects only a modest boost in extremist group activity and pales in comparison to their activity in the early 2020s. Yet, it represents a worrying sign of resurgence in these groups’ anti-LGBTQ+ demonstration activity. ACLED has previously pointed to anti-LGBTQ+ sentiment as a driver of extremist group demonstrations. Last year, extremist groups participated in less than 5% of all anti-LGBTQ+ demonstrations, but this year, this figure stands at roughly 23%, similar to their peak activity at the beginning of the 2020s.
[Townhall] A Maryland man was sentenced today in connection with charges stemming from his attempt to join and fight for ISIS.
U.S. District Judge Adam B. Abelson sentenced Michael Sam Teekaye Jr., 22,

to 15 years in prison followed by lifetime supervised release for attempting to provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization.
Teekaye revealed his plan to join and fight for ISIS to an undercover officer (UCO).
According to court documents, between March and April 2023, Teekaye engaged in multiple conversations with the UCO. During these conversations, Teekaye told the UCO he wanted to travel to Africa to join ISIS as a "mujahid," or fighter. Teekaye also told the UCO that his "plan B" was to carry out an attack in the United States against Jews and people who support Israel. He said that he researched buildings close to him that support Israel and thought about how to "gun down key members or anyone involved."
"Mr. Teekaye sought to support a foreign terrorist organization that has committed unspeakable acts of violence and took real-world steps to carry out a terrorist attack in Maryland," said U.S. Attorney Kelly O’Hayes for the District of Maryland. "Today’s sentence underscores that those who seek to aid terrorist organizations will be identified, prosecuted, and held fully accountable. I commend the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force and our law-enforcement partners for their exceptional work in disrupting this threat and protecting our communities before any harm could occur. There is no margin for error when it comes to terrorism."
On three occasions in May and June of 2024, Teekaye purchased ammunition and range time at a shooting range in Severn, Maryland, which he later told the UCO was part of his "training." Then in July 2024, Teekaye attempted to purchase a Kalashnikov K-9 9mm assault rifle, but since Teekaye was on probation in a state criminal case, the purchase was denied.
"This sentencing reinforces the gravity of Michael Teekaye’s crimes," said Special Agent in Charge Jimmy Paul of the FBI Baltimore Field Office. "Undoubtedly, lives were saved because law enforcement thwarted Teekaye’s plan to join ISIS and murder Americans. The FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force works around the clock to protect our country by identifying threats like this and preventing them from being carried out and harming our citizens."
Between August and October 2024, Teekaye told the UCO that he engaged with a Somali ISIS fighter regarding his plans to travel to Somalia to join ISIS. Teekaye explained that he would first fly to The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor... , then travel to Æthiopia, and then cross the border into Somalia. He sent the UCO screenshots of an Æthiopian e-Visa he obtained from the ISIS fighter. On Oct. 4, Teekaye told the UCO that he received airline tickets from the ISIS fighter. He also sent the UCO screenshots of his travel itinerary showing that he planned to depart from Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI) on Oct. 14, and fly to Istanbul, Turkey, with a layover in London.
Then on Oct. 10, Teekaye sent the UCO a photo of himself wearing a black mask and holding a large machete, and he added, "Victory or shahada [i.e., martyrdom] ... either you do it here or over there or both." On Oct. 11, the UCO asked whether Teekaye was "sure" he wanted to join ISIS. Teekaye responded that he was "sure" because he had done "a lot of research" and "they are the only group that has the most true and sincere intentions."
On Oct. 14, FBI agents arrested Teekaye at BWI after he checked in for his flight and proceeded through security. After his arrest, Teekaye made the following unprovoked statements, among others: "I’m just gonna get out in 20 years and I’m just gonna do it here. Okay? Okay? It will never stop. Jihad will never stop. I’ll just do it here then, when I get out." He then made reference to a recent attack in which ISIS prison inmates killed four Russian penal colony guards, and threatened to kill a guard while in prison. He continued: "You think 20 years is something? I’ll be like 40 when I get out, then I’ll just do it. I don’t care. It will never stop. Jihad will never stop. I’ll come and I’ll kill your soldiers. I’ll kill you, and I’ll kill . . . ." While making these statements, Teekaye kicked and spat on one of the arresting agents.
Following Teekaye’s arrest, the FBI searched his cell phone pursuant to a search warrant. The cell phone showed that he conducted multiple searches for specific Jewish and Israeli individuals and organizations in Howard County. Additionally, law enforcement discovered that Teekaye conducted searches about "how to break into a home" and "how to escape murder." One of these individuals, a rabbi, submitted a victim-impact statement. The rabbi also spoke at the sentencing, detailing how Teekaye’s crime impacted him and the Jewish community.
On Oct. 24, 2024, a federal grand jury in the District of Maryland returned an indictment charging Teekaye with one count of attempting to provide material support or resources to a designated foreign terrorist organization (i.e., ISIS), and one count of assaulting a federal officer. Teekaye pled guilty to the first count on January 30, 2026.
After Teekaye entered his guilty plea, and before he was sentenced, guards discovered two homemade weapons in Teekaye’s jail cell, including a large knife.

Some accept being medicated, and some of them respond well to their medication. Others need to be locked up for everyone’s safety, including their own — preferably in a mental hospital rather than a prison. Sadly, there are not many mental hospitals available for long term rather than acute care — almost all were closed in the big deinstitutionalization wave of the 1970s.
Teekaye’s parents are from Sierra Leone and Liberia, and he lived with his parents and sister. He worked at a restaurant and had a history of mental illness, the indictment said.
He had been on the FBI’s radar since at least 2019, when he had posted extremist Islamist ideology on social media as a teenager.
Bobby, the feds took notice of his Islamofascistic ranting online in 2019. After he was released from the mental hospital the first time, he was apparently assigned an informant to whom he seems to have confided all.

Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it... province, authorities said on Tuesday, as security forces launched a clearance operation to hunt down the attackers and secure the area.
According to Xinhua News Agency, reporting on July 7, heavily armed faceless myrmidons stormed a police installation in the Mangi Phase-III area of Ziarat district late Monday, triggering an hours-long exchange of gunfire with security personnel that continued into Tuesday.
The Deputy Commissioner’s Office said the bodies of the nine officers were transferred to the District Headquarters Hospital in Ziarat, while authorities did not immediately report any casualties among the attackers or disclose whether any suspects had been arrested.
Security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to locate those responsible, with officials saying the situation remained under control as clearance operations continued.
Authorities have opened an investigation into the attack and vowed to bring those responsible to justice. No group had grabbed credit for the assault at the time of publication.
The latest attack underscores persistent security challenges in Balochistan, where police, military personnel and government installations have repeatedly come under attack from turban groups despite intensified counterterrorism operations.

Officials said the officers’ bodies were found in the Mangi Dam area of Ziarat District with gunshot wounds before being transferred to the Civil Hospital in Quetta. Authorities have not publicly identified those responsible for the killings, and no group had claimed responsibility at the time of publication.
According to a list released by the Civil Hospital in Quetta, the victims included 14 police officers from Ziarat District, three from Sanjavi, one each from Musakhel, Loralai, and Qila Abdullah districts, and one officer from Sargodha in Punjab Province.
Pakistani officials said the officers were abducted during Wednesday’s attack on a military convoy along the Karachi-Quetta Highway. According to initial reports, armed men blocked the highway, stopped vehicles, and reportedly extorted money from travelers before the violence escalated into a deadly confrontation.
According to the reports, the attack began when an improvised explosive device struck the military convoy, triggering an exchange of fire between Pakistani security forces and armed militants.
The discovery of the officers’ bodies came a day after nine police officers were killed in a separate attack in Ziarat District. The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for that assault, although no group had claimed responsibility for Thursday’s killings.
Pakistan’s military spokesperson, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, said security forces killed 15 suspected militants during follow-up operations in Ziarat District. The military did not immediately provide evidence supporting the claim, and the reported militant casualties could not be independently verified.
Security operations continued across parts of Balochistan on Thursday as authorities searched for those responsible for the attacks. Officials did not immediately say whether additional arrests had been made or whether further casualties were reported during the operations.
Meanwhile, a protest sit-in in Quetta entered its fifth day, with demonstrators demanding direct talks with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Pakistan’s army chief over the deteriorating security situation in Balochistan. Protest organizers said they would continue their demonstration until senior government and military leaders respond to their demands.
Balochistan, Pakistan’s largest province by area, has experienced decades of violence involving separatist insurgent groups, Islamist militant organizations, and security forces. The province borders Afghanistan and Iran and is strategically important because of its mineral resources and its role in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), a multibillion-dollar infrastructure and trade initiative linking western China to Pakistan’s Arabian Sea coast.
The province has witnessed repeated attacks targeting security personnel, civilians, and infrastructure in recent years. Pakistani authorities have accused militant groups of attempting to destabilize the region, while insurgent organizations have frequently targeted government installations and security convoys.

As part of a framework agreement Israel and Lebanon signed last month in Washington, Jerusalem agreed to withdraw its troops from two small areas in southern Lebanon that have been cleared of Hezbollah infrastructure, to be replaced by members of the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF).
Two weeks have passed since that agreement, with Israeli forces still remaining in both of the areas that have been deemed the pilot zones.
While the US scheduled the next round of negotiations between Israel and Lebanon for next week in Rome, where the sides would build on the framework deal, Beirut stated that it would not attend until Israel completed the agreed-upon withdrawal, an Arab official familiar with the matter told The Times of Israel.
US pressure has led to some, albeit limited, progress in coaxing Israel to move ahead with withdrawing from the pilot zones.
"The first pilot zone will launch in a matter of days, and further pilot zones are being mapped out and planned. CENTCOM is coordinating with both countries to move forward," the US official said.
The Arab official said US Central Command will begin by declaring the first pilot zone ready for LAF deployment, after which the IDF will pull out.
No exact timeline was given for when that first withdrawal will take place beyond "the coming days." The timeline for the withdrawal from the second pilot zone was even less clear.
Nonetheless, progress toward the first withdrawal is thought to be enough to convince Lebanon to send a negotiating team to Rome next Wednesday and Thursday.
"Rome is a closed discussion that will enable the governments to hand off to technical teams, which will work on all issues outlined in the framework," the US official said.
"We will soon begin outreach to international partners to help the Lebanese government effectively restore illusory sovereignty in these (pilot) zones and across their country more broadly," the US official added, suggesting that the international community will be called on to help stabilize Lebanon either through money or the deployment of peacekeeping troops.
The US ambassador to Lebanon, Michel Issa, told President Joseph Aoun that "an American military delegation will arrive in Beirut in the coming days to... determine the mechanism for implementation on the ground," according to the Lebanese presidency.
"It is essential to avoid any vacuum when Israeli forces withdraw from the designated area," Issa added, according to a statement from the Lebanese presidency.
Aoun, for his part, once again called on the United States to "exert pressure on Israel to halt military operations and comply with the provisions of the framework."

The tunnels spanned a total of some 200 meters, and reached depths of around 20 meters (65 feet) underground, according to the military. Inside the tunnels, troops found several rooms where operatives would reside, three launch shafts, and dozens of weapons, the IDF said. These tunnels were in addition to a major underground drone facility that the IDF uncovered and demolished last month.

After that, Iran fired 10 ballistic missiles at Jordan’s Azraq military base, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said in a statement carried by state media.
Jordan said earlier that it had intercepted eight missiles launched from Iran, with no casualties or damage reported, according to the state news agency. Sirens had sounded in Jordan, which hosts US troops and aircraft.
The Revolutionary Guards said US bases in the region would be targeted if "US aggression" was repeated.
Meanwhile in Iran, the state-run IRNA news agency quoted a local official as accusing the US of carrying out strikes near the country’s Bushehr nuclear power plant.
The official, Ehsan Jahanian, said the strike came around noon, hours after the US military’s Central Command (CENTCOM) said it had ended its strikes on Iran.
The deputy governor of Bushehr province told state media that several locations in the province, including the perimeter of the nuclear facility, were hit in the attacks.
CENTCOM did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

That raised concerns that the region could tip back into a war that would engulf several countries and could halt energy shipments through the strait that are crucial for the global economy.
In Iran, the two days of American Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... s have killed at least 14 people and maimed another 78, Iran’s Health Ministry said Thursday — most of those reportedly members of the armed forces.
Iran’s military also said it targeted sites in Kuwait, Qatar, and Bahrain with one-way attack drones, state media reported, in retaliation.
The Iranian army said it had targeted a Patriot missile interceptor system in Kuwait, an early warning system in Qatar, and fuel tanks in Bahrain with drones, as part of its attacks on US bases in the region.
In Kuwait, the military said falling debris maimed one person as it shot down three ballistic missiles, a cruise missile, and 10 drones. Bahrain said it shot down incoming fire, without elaborating. There was no immediate word of damage in Qatar, while Jordanian government front man Mohammad al-Momani said all incoming fire from Iran had been intercepted.
US STRIKES HIT MORE TARGETS
CENTCOM said on Wednesday that the US military had hit some 90 targets across Iran in the renewed fighting, releasing black-and-white footage of what appeared to be strikes on an airport runway and missile launchers.

The US said the strikes were intended to "further degrade" Iran’s ability "to threaten freedom of navigation" in the strait, through which a fifth of the world’s traded oil and natural gas passed before the war began with US and Israeli attacks on February 28.
Iranian state media reported explosions in several locations, including Bushehr and southern port cities.
During the Iran war, several strikes hit the area around the nuclear plant, which is managed by Russian technicians, but caused no damage to the plant itself. The exchange of fire began after Iran attacked three tankers in the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday.
Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, a key negotiator in talks seeking a permanent end to the war, was defiant in a post on X on Thursday morning: "America still hasn’t learned that bullying and breaking promises are no longer cost-free. Let me put it plainly: If you strike, you’ll get hit."
In Iran’s southwestern Khuzestan province, at least three people were killed Thursday, state media reported. In Iranshahr, authorities said a strike killed a firefighter at an airport. Those fatalities followed the deaths of at least nine members of Iran’s armed forces in Wednesday’s strikes, according to state media. It wasn’t clear when the other death happened or who was killed.
KEY TRADE ROUTE TO CHINA
For the first time since April, US strikes also appeared to target Iranian bridges. State media reported a strike on a railway bridge in Iran’s northeastern Golestan province, and the Revolutionary Guard said two bridges were attacked on the route to Mashhad, where officials plan to bury the late ayatollah Ali Khamenei ...the very aged actual dictator of Iran, successor to Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini...> on Thursday.
The Iranian foreign ministry said the US attacks targeted civilian infrastructure, including railway bridges, and described the strikes as a "gross war crime."
It called the US administration "evil and psychopathic" and accused it of "obscenity, lies, and military aggression."
The ministry, in a statement, said it "condemns in the strongest terms the aggressive attacks by the US terrorist army on several points in the southern coastal provinces and two bridges in the eastern provinces on the railway route to the holy city of Mashhad," and calls the US administration "evil and psychopathic."
Israel has not participated in recent US strikes on Iran.
Train services between Tehran and Mashhad were suspended, state TV reported.
The Islamic Theocratic Republic of Iran Railways blamed "a criminal attack by the US-Israeli enemy" and said it has dispatched teams to repair the damage, according to the state broadcaster, which added that road transportation is being arranged for stranded passengers.
One of the bridges hit, the Aq Taqeh Khan railway bridge in northern Iran’s Golestan province, is a key part of a trade link to Tehran’s strategic partners China and Russia.
The Fars news agency said the route that goes on to pass through Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan has been an important land link to China that gained further relevance during this year’s blockade of Iran’s Gulf ports by the US.
It added that the route has also been used by Russia for cargo shipments to Iran since late 2025.
The agency said repairs to the bridge are expected to be completed quickly. Uh huh...
Iran’s Guards accused the United States of an "effort to overshadow" Khamenei’s funeral with its attacks on the railway bridges.
In a sign of the security tensions, at least one fighter jet escorted the plane carrying Khamenei’s coffin to its final burial in Mashhad, footage from the supreme leader’s website showed.
STRIKES RAISE FEARS THAT WAR COULD RESUME
Trump fueled concerns that the war could restart by saying Wednesday that the interim agreement to pause the fighting was "over." He added that he would allow negotiations to continue, though he cast doubt on the outcome.
"They can talk, but I think they’re wasting their time," he said.
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi, also a top negotiator, retorted on X that Trump’s remarks "are not a sign of power but an admission of the failure" of US policy toward Iran.
Mediators sought to lower the tensions.
Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani told Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in a phone call that Iran and the United States should commit to diplomacy.
Al-Thani added that Washington and Tehran should implement the signed memorandum of understanding aimed at ending the war, according to the Qatari foreign ministry.
Negotiations to reach a final deal were due to start after the funeral for Khamenei, who was killed in the war’s first moments. The funeral, which ends Thursday, was supposed to be a period of lower tensions.
The talks are meant to focus on the toughest matters, including fully reopening the strait and rolling back Tehran’s disputed nuclear program.
While the most recent exchange of fire has remained confined to the Gulf and has not spilled over into Israel, Jerusalem is preparing for multiple scenarios, given concerns that the situation could deteriorate rapidly, Channel 12 has reported.
The IDF has reportedly raised its level of readiness across the board, maintaining both defensive and offensive preparations. The military was said to have operational plans ready, fighter jets armed and on standby, and target banks prepared based on updated intelligence.
