[NYPost] An illegal alien with a lengthy criminal history has been arrested on sex crime charges in Virginia after a federal immigration enforcement detainer request could have seen him deported from the United States.
Cristobal Liobardo Vasquez-Sanchez, 25, a Salvadoran national, racked up 14 criminal charges this year alone before his May 22 arrest on charges of sexual battery and object sexual penetration by force.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said it had previously issued a detainer for Vasquez-Sanchez, but that request was denied.
At the direction of Democratic Gov. Abigail Spanberger, Virginia ended state agency cooperation with ICE and has demanded judicial warrants where immigration experts say such warrants are wholly irrelevant.
Just days before Vasquez-Sanchez’s alleged sexual assault, Spanberger issued an executive order adding further roadblocks for federal immigration officers to operate in the state.
Local reports say that Vasquez-Sanchez came across his victim in a parking garage stairwell in Arlington, where the alleged assault occurred.
The victim was able to run away and find help, and the suspect fled but was later captured.
In January, Vasquez-Sanchez was arrested and booked on a violation of pretrial release conditions while he was out on bond stemming from another crime. The following month, he was charged with larceny.
On April 15, he was arrested and charged with public intoxication, assault and battery and assault on a law enforcement officer. Five days later, he was again arrested on a violation of pretrial release conditions.
Between April 26 and May 19, he was charged with public intoxication four times. Stemming from the May 19 incident, he was also charged with disorderly conduct and fleeing from law enforcement.
On Dec. 31, 2025, he was charged with larceny, and on July 19, 2026, he was charged with assault and battery, destruction of property with intent and public intoxication.
Despite the litany of charges, Vasquez-Sanchez was never detained pretrial, and instead released back onto the street each time.
ICE has now lodged another detainer against the suspect.
“Governor Spanberger’s decision to end cooperation with ICE in Virginia has allowed criminals to be released back into American communities. When politicians bar local law enforcement from working with DHS, our law enforcement officers need to have a more visible presence so that we can find and apprehend the criminals let out of jails and back into communities,” Acting Assistant DHS Secretary Lauren Bis told Fox News Digital.
“While Governor Spanberger continues to allow the release of pedophiles, rapists, gang members, and murderers onto Virginia’s streets, DHS law enforcement will continue to risk their lives to arrest these heinous criminals.”
But Spanberger’s office says the state does support deporting violent criminals.
Oh? Then why was this repeatedly set free?
“Governor Spanberger has repeatedly made clear that violent criminals who are in the United States illegally should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and deported. Under the Governor’s leadership, the Virginia Department of Corrections continues the long-standing practice of notifying ICE when individuals born outside of the United States are in state custody — however, this individual is in local custody,” a spokesperson told Fox News Digital.
“Virginia state law enforcement agencies also continue to assist federal authorities in the apprehension of criminal offenders as part of task forces and ongoing interagency cooperation. As a former federal law enforcement officer who went after child predators, Governor Spanberger will always prioritize the safety and well-being of Virginia families and communities.”
[PJMedia] Michael Angel Alvarez received taxpayer money from the city of Los Angeles as a "peace ambassador." He also happens to be a member of a terrorist gang, a convicted murderer, and the bearer of the nickname "Diablo."
This criminal with the angelic name and infernal nickname is an active member of the 18th Street gang, which has become increasingly powerful and influential in L.A. under the reign of Mayor Karen Bass (D-estroyer). Federal officials have been concentrating anti-drug trafficking efforts in the area of MacArthur Park, L.A., an area some locals have mourned as an open-air drug market for cartels, and where the feds caught Alvarez. The 18th Street gang, or Barrio 18, also happens to be a designated foreign terrorist organization. Did Dems make "Diablo" Alvarez a "peace ambassador" to spite federal authorities, or is this an instance of willful ignorance and vast incompetence?
First Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Central District of Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, Bill Essayli provided a "MacArthur Park Update" Friday, May 29, to discuss the FBI arrest of Alvarez. He quoted activist and Councilwoman Eunisses Hernandez (D), who represents District 1 (including MacArthur Park). Hernandez, who describes herself as a "community organizer" and "daughter of Mexican immigrants colonists," asserted, "Peace Ambassadors are embedded in the communities they serve. Their presence strengthens safety networks and ensures families have someone to turn to outside of law enforcement when facing non-emergency conflict or community stress."
And yet one of this bozo's "peace ambassadors" is a literal terrorist. His latest charge is possession of body armor by a violent mostly peaceful felon, which can carry a sentence of five years in prison. And what is the felony, you ask? Essayli explained:
Alvarez was convicted in 2002 for first-degree murder for which he was sentenced to 50 years to life in state prison, but was released by the State of California after serving just 24 years’ imprisonment.
There is no indication Alvarez has ever stopped associating with the 18th Street gang. In fact, in jailhouse telephone call recordings of Alvarez since his release from state prison, he discussed assaulting individuals for breaking gang rules.
Yet Alvarez received $58,000 last year — more than many Angelenos make in a year — to work for "Healing Urban Barrios." This deceptively named group contracts with the city of L.A. for the District 1 "Peace Ambassador program." While supposedly healing urban barrios, Alvarez was fueling the violence and drug crime that have ruined District 1.
Apparently, Alvarez has been making a great deal of money off something other than woke activism, based on the following information from Essayli:

The anti-Israel boycott passed by New York City’s Park Slope Food Coop this week targeted companies involved in Israeli-Paleostinian coexistence initiatives, pro-LGBTQ programs and family-owned firms employing diverse workforces.
Of course. What’s the point of a self-righteous shunning if it doesn’t mostly harm the people you claim to be doing it for?
The co-op’s membership voted to boycott Israeli products on Tuesday, after a years-long campaign that rocked the progressive community of 17,000.
The co-op is a major institution in the Brooklyn neighborhood and the boycott became a citywide issue, drawing in elected officials, rabbis, street activists and leading Jewish groups.
The boycott campaigners said the effort was meant to "stop genocide," while opponents said the boycott was discriminatory, divisive ...politicians call things divisive when when the other side sez something they don't like. Their own statements are never divisive, they're principled... and punished independent food producers for the actions of their government.
The pro-boycott effort, led by a group called Park Slope Food Coop Members in Solidarity with Paleostine, listed eight companies connected to Israel that sell products at the co-op and would be subject to boycott.
The products were removed from the store’s shelves the morning after the vote, a co-op member told The Times of Israel.
Of those eight companies listed by the boycott campaign, half are run by Arab Israelis or sell products from Arab-owned factories.
One of the companies, Al Arz tahini, is owned by Arab Israelis in Nazareth and supports LGBTQ causes.
Conservative Arab Israelis called to boycott Al Arz in 2020 after the company donated funds to an LGBTQ support line.
In response, Arab and Jewish Israelis, and Israeli diplomats, pushed back by buying the company’s tahini, driving up its market share.
"We in the Al Arz Tahini family love people without differentiation between religion, sex, gender or color. Food connects people," the company said at the time.
Another firm targeted by the boycotters, Equal Exchange, sells olive oil from a non-profit run by Arab and Jewish women in Israel whose mission includes "building bridges" and "promoting peace."
Equal Exchange also sells olive oil produced by Paleostinian farmers in the West Bank.
An article last year by Linewaiters’ Gazette, a publication produced by the co-op, said that the store sold olive oil from both the Israeli and Paleostinian operations.
It wasn’t clear if the boycott would apply to both the Israeli and Paleostinian olive oils produced by Equal Exchange. The boycott group’s list did not specify.
Contacted for comment, the boycott campaign referred The Times of Israel to a press statement released after the boycott passed.
"Tonight’s win is proof that cooperative movements are powerful models for exercising solidarity and participatory democracy," organizer Taylor Pate said in a statement.
Equal Exchange is a workers’ co-operative based in the US and dedicated to fair trade practices.
MEANINGFUL REVENUE LOST, BUT BIGGER HIT TO MORALE
Rachel Simons, a co-founder and CEO of Seed + Mill, another company on the boycott list, said the firm was started by three women in New York’s Chelsea Market. They began selling their products in the co-op about six years ago.
Simons described the partnership as "my dream account" because she "loves the mission and values of a food co-op."
"They could not have found a person or a founder of a brand who is more upset about it, mainly because I really love what they’re doing and I support their mission wholeheartedly," she said in an interview, referring to the co-op collectively working to provide affordable food to families.
Seed + Mill sells sesame-based products, such as tahini and halva. The tahini is produced by a Moslem father-son team in northern Israel. The operation employs a mixed workforce including Moslems, Jews and Druze, Simons said. She added that the business decisions were not ideological, but that Israel makes high-quality tahini, so she found partners there whom she likes and trusts.
"This is just the reality of working in Israel, where Arabs, Israelis, Jews, Moslems, Druze, Christians — they work together. It’s really more of a fact of life as opposed to anybody making some sort of conscious decision to build a diverse workforce," she said.
Seed + Mill has not received any communication from the co-op. The company’s products were sold at the store through a third-party distributor, and Simons assumed that the co-op would just not file any more orders.
The co-op sales were "meaningful revenue" for the company, but the bigger hit was to morale, she said, adding that she wished the co-op’s leadership "had asked if I would like to talk to the members."
"As a brand, we’re humans. We’re not just robots selling things," she said, adding that most of the team is not Jewish. "They’re just really sad and baffled that this is what’s happened to our brand."
The company has received abusive messages for years that have escalated recently, Simons said.
"At least give us the chance to discuss it and to humanize this conflict and to come over to our store and have an ice cream and actually hear about the people who make the products," she said.
Soom tahini, another company targeted in the boycott, said in 2022 that its tahini was produced in a factory owned by an Israeli Arab.
The boycott also applied to Osem, a major snack producer in Israel that has participated in programs to increase Arab participation in the workforce and to boost Arab-Jewish coexistence.
The UJA-Federation of New York, one of the leading Jewish communal groups in New York City, said on Thursday that it would buy 20,000 bags of Osem’s Bamba snacks in response to the boycott.
The Bamba will be distributed at Sunday’s Israel parade in Manhattan, the federation said.
[BBC] A former chief of staff of UK Special Forces has told a public inquiry he believed war crimes allegations against the SAS were not referred to military police out of concern an investigation could disrupt operations and negatively affect morale.
The officer, the second highest ranking in special forces at the time, said another factor in the decision was that evidence had in part come via a rival special forces regiment.
The decision meant that military police did not learn for years of special forces concerns that the SAS was carrying out extra-judicial killings and submitting falsified reports.
The testimony came from closed-door evidence to the Independent Inquiry relating to Afghanistan.
The inquiry is investigating allegations that the SAS committed war crimes on operations between 2010 and 2013, including the killing of children and civilians. The latest batch of testimony was heard in 2024 but only released in summarised form by the inquiry on Friday.
Despite the severity of the allegations, the then-director of UK Special Forces decided in 2011 not to refer them to the Royal Military Police, instead commissioning an internal review into the tactics being used by the SAS.
The decision was controversial because every commanding officer in the British military has a legal obligation to alert military police if they become aware that someone under their command may have committed a war crime. More at the link

The exec’s net worth shot up to $244.8 billion, according to Forbes, lodging him in slot No. 6 on its billionaires list — just below Oracle CEO Larry Ellison and above Meta big Mark Zuckerberg.
Shares in Dell went on a tear after the company reported first quarter growth in artificial-intelligence hardware and details emerged about its new $9.7 billion contract with the Department of War.
Dell will provide the department a suit of software under the five-year deal. The Pentagon has said it’s working to revamp its software and cloud-based systems in order to use more AI.
The deal came after Trump’s investment accounts bought between $1 million and $5 million of Dell stock in February, the Wall Street Journal noted.
Toward the end of last year, Michael Dell and his wife Susan pledged $6.25 billion toward the president’s “Trump accounts” initiative. The Dells’ investment – which comes to about $250 per account – is meant to help kids pay for an education, start a business or afford a down payment on a house after they turn 18.
Long a household name in the personal computer market, Texas-based Dell has recently ramped up its AI hardware business by making servers for data centers.
Revenue for the company’s AI server segment reached $16.1 billion in the quarter, $1.5 billion more than its PC unit raked in.

Christians compose less than 2% of Pakistain's population, enduring severe systemic and societal persecution. They frequently face mob violence, deadly blasphemy ...the act of insulting or showing contempt or lack of reverence to a deity, or sacred objects, or toward something considered sacred or inviolable. Some religions consider it to be a crime. In Pakistain you can commit blasphemy by looking cross-eyed at a Koran... laws, economic exclusion or exploitation, abductions, rapes, and forced conversions. The EU, however, keeps rewarding the country with a massive economic lifeline.
Pakistain has been a significant beneficiary of the European Union's GSP+ since 2014. They are granted duty-free or preferential tariff access to the EU market for over 66% of its tariff lines.
However,
we can't all be heroes. Somebody has to sit on the curb and applaud when they go by... Pakistain's government continues to abuse the EU's generosity as well as the basic human rights of its minority citizens. On May 12, a married Moslemkidnapped a 14-year-old girl, her father and his attorney said. The man forcibly converted her to Islam and married her, exploiting her medical and mental health vulnerabilities to sexually abuse her.
Her father, Abbas Masih, is a daily wage laborer and member of a local Brethren church in Lahore’s Gulbahar Colony. Masih told Christian Daily International-Morning Star News that his daughter, Nisha Bibi, disappeared while working as a domestic helper at a Moslem household.
Legal, religious and cultural norms reinforce extreme gender inequality in Pakistain, with Christian girls vulnerable to abduction, forced conversion and marriage. International Christian Concern reported on May 13:
Each year in Pakistain, roughly 1,000 maiden of tender yearss — many of whom are Christians — are kidnapped from their homes.
"These girls are often found months later, after they’ve been forced to convert to Islam and marry older Moslem men. When a girl’s parents attempt to claim their daughter in court, they are often unable to provide a birth certificate to prove that she is underage. As a result, the judge often grants the man custody of the girl, denying the parents any chance of seeing their daughter again.
While this reality is nothing new in Pakistain, stories of girls in these situations are increasingly coming to light.
The organization Open Doors further notes:
Christian women and girls in Pakistain face severe gender-specific persecution. Christian girls are kidnapped, raped, and forced to convert and "marry" their abductor, with victims as young as seven, including girls with disabilities. Families often never see them again, while the police rarely act and the courts frequently fail victims. Survivors endure shame, PTSD, and social stigma in Pakistain’s honor-based culture. Christian women are also targeted with acid attacks, workplace harassment, blasphemy allegations, and honor killings. Many remain trapped in debt-bonded labor, such as brick-kilns, where they face additional sexual violence and exploitation.
Despite all these violations and more, Pakistain remains a major beneficiary of the trading opportunities offered by the GSP. The country continues to fail in all those same fields in which it has pledged to make progress (human and labor rights, as well as good governance), particularly when minorities are involved.
Systemic failures in protecting Christian labor rights in Pakistain are most evident within the sanitation sector. Systemic discrimination, lack of safety gear, and exploitative working conditions disproportionately affect the Christian minority.
Christians are frequently restricted to hazardous or degrading manual labor. They make up an estimated 80% of sanitation and sewer workers, largely excluded from better-paying professional fields.

These deaths have also raised concerns over a pattern of fatal workplace conditions and systemic discrimination against Christian sanitation workers.

Some people have been lynched even before their trial cases began: accusations frequently incite violent mostly peaceful mobs. These crowds often ransack and burn Christian homes, schools, and places of worship with little to no consequence. This was illustrated by the 2023 Jaranwala attacks in which over 25 churches were attacked and homes destroyed. Three years on, Pakistain's government has been unwilling to prosecute those involved.
District courts across Pakistain, particularly in regions like Punjab, continue to issue death sentence ...the barbaric practice of sentencing a murderer to be punished for as long as his/her/its victim is dead... s in digital blasphemy cases. For instance, a Sahiwal district court issued capital punishments in several recent (2025-2026) instances for online sacrilege.
Other high-profile convictions include a 22-year-old man sentenced to death in 2024 and a 17-year-old sentenced to life in prison by a Punjab province court over alleged blasphemous content on WhatsApp.
The United States Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) notes that:
The Pak government’s systematic enforcement of blasphemy laws severely restricts freedom of religion or belief for all citizens, particularly targeting Ahmadiyya Moslems. Authorities’ failure to address mob violence associated with blasphemy accusations, as well as the forced conversions to Islam of individuals from religious minorities—including Christians, Hindus, and Sikhs—continues to reinforce a climate of fear and religious discrimination.

...back at the laboratory, Igor and Oleg were discussing what the quickest way might be to deal with the monster... a hopeful sign is that the EU's updated GSP+ regulation (approved on April 28, 2026) expands the number of required international conventions from 27 to 32. This will be effective starting on January 1, 2027.
Pakistain is already under scrutiny for human rights violations and slow legal reforms. It will likely face increased challenges in meeting these expanded standards. With a two-year transition period, Pakistain will remain under renewed scrutiny under the new action plan to retain benefits, risking trade losses if it fails to comply.
Since at least 2014, the EU has enabled Pakistain's severe abuses of human rights standards. Observers continue to warn the EU of consequences and call for significant change. The organization "Human Rights Without Frontiers (HRWF)," for example, refers to the GSP+ scheme as "the bad deal between the EU and Pakistain," and adds: "The GSP+ should be suspended as long as there is no substantial human rights progress." Only then will Pakistain's regime be obliged to treat its citizens with respect and dignity.

Mayor Zohran Mamdani endorsed former Columbia encampment organizer Darializa Avila Chevalier for Congress on Thursday evening.
The New York City mayor’s endorsement comes as a major boost to Avila Chevalier, a democratic socialist and staunch Israel critic who is running against five-term incumbent Representative Adriano Espaillat in the 13th District that covers upper Manhattan and parts of the Bronx.
"I look forward to fighting for our shared vision of a more affordable New York — one where we invest in our communities, not in bombs abroad — in Congress," Avila Chevalier wrote on X, thanking Mamdani for his endorsement.
Avila Chevalier has been vocal throughout her campaign about opposing US support for Israel. She outlines her foreign policy vision on her campaign website.
"We must end the genocide and occupation in Paleostine, divest from Israeli apartheid, stop all funding to the Israeli government, and reinvest in us," the website reads. Mamdani lauded Avila Chevalier for her work on issues like protecting immigrants colonists and affordability on Thursday, and did not mention Israel or foreign policy in his statement endorsing her.
"Her campaign is powered by working people ready to reject a politics of big money and demand something better," wrote Mamdani. "Let’s go win this."

Since then, the race has shifted dramatically. The RealClearPolitics polling average now places El-Sayed in the lead with 24.3% support, giving him a 4.5-point lead over Stevens and McMorrow, who are tied at 19.8%.
The latest individual poll of the race, conducted by Mitchell Research and released on May 11, found El-Sayed leading the field with 28% support — 10 points ahead of Stevens at 18%, and 11 points ahead of McMorrow at 17%. With the August 4 primary just two months away, he appears to have significant momentum on his side.

An explosion hit a synagogue in Belgium, arsonists ignited a synagogue in the Netherlands, a bomb rocked a Jewish school in Amsterdam, four Hatzola ambulances were torched in London and a car was burned in a Jewish neighborhood in Antwerp, all during March.
A new group called Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamiya (HAYI) claimed credit. The group, whose name roughly translates to the Islamic Movement of the People of the Right Hand, was unknown until then. Analysts and Sherlocks suspected Iranian involvement, but law enforcement investigations had not publicly exposed any connection to Iran.
That changed this month, when US prosecutors in the federal Southern District of New York court connected Iran to the attacks in Europa ...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum... and revealed plots targeting Jewish sites in the US. The investigation also shed light on the alleged motives and tactics of the attackers.
The complaint and an indictment on Thursday accused Mohammad Baqer Saad Dawood al-Saadi, an alleged member of the Kataeb Hezbollah, an Iraq-based, US-designated terrorist group aligned with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), with plotting at least 18 attacks in Europe and two in Canada. al-Saadi helped initiate the HAYI campaign, plotted its attacks and distributed its propaganda, prosecutors said.
ENMESHED IN THE ’RESISTANCE’
Al-Saadi has relationships with the current leadership of the IRGC’s Quds Force and Kataeb Hezbollah, prosecutors said. al-Saadi also posted photos on social media showing himself with the late IRGC general Qassem Soleimani , killed visiting Baghdad by a US Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... in 2020, and other IRGC leaders.
The IRGC supports Kataeb Hezbollah, Hezbollah and other proxy groups with training, funding, weapons and intelligence to carry out its broader aim of "lethal action" against the US and its allies. The groups share the same ideology and are part of Iran’s "Axis of Resistance®," prosecutors said, putting HAYI in the same network.
Al-Saadi, 32, was born in Tehran, but lived most of his life in Iraq. He is a dual citizen of Iran and Iraq. He was arrested while traveling in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire... and extradited to the US in mid-May.
After his arrest, al-Saadi waived his Miranda rights and explained his role to US law enforcement. Investigators obtained further information from al-Saadi’s iPhone and social media accounts.
The evidence showed that al-Saadi, attackers in Europe and Iran-linked operatives in the Middle East regularly shared messages and videos of their operations in the different countries, both before and after the start of the war.
Investigators tied al-Saadi to the March attacks, as well as further incidents in April: an attempted bombing of a pro-Israel group in the Netherlands, flammable materials thrown into an Israeli restaurant in Munich, arson against a synagogue in North Macedonia and two synagogues in London, arson against Jewish ambulances in London, a drone attack targeting the Israeli embassy in the UK, and, last month, the stabbing of two Jewish men in London. Other attacks targeted non-Jewish sites connected to the US.
After the attacks, al-Saadi allegedly posted propaganda videos of the incidents, claiming credit for HAYI. It was not clear if HAYI had actually orchestrated each attack it claimed credit for.
Prosecutors said HAYI is a front for Kataeb Hezbollah and emerged in March to obscure Kataeb Hezbollah’s involvement in the campaign. HAYI’s founding statement was broadcast on Shi’ite bad boy media channels used by Kataeb Hezbollah, Hezbollah and the IRGC, and HAYI uses a logo similar to those of Kataeb Hezbollah and Hezbollah.

Al-Saadi also connected HAYI to Iran due to his associations with IRGC leaders. al-Saadi, as a commander of Kataeb Hezbollah, coordinated with IRGC leadership, prosecutors said. al-Saadi was "like a son" to Soleimani and the two regularly traveled together. He was also close to the late Iranian supreme leader Ali Khamenei ...the very aged actual dictator of Iran, successor to Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini...> , meeting with him three days before he was killed in a US-Israeli strike. He met with Quds Force commander Esmail Qaani last month to discuss a "solution" to the war and said he was able to "raise or lower the level of attacks," prosecutors said.
Al-Saadi told Sherlocks he was a leader of the "resistance" that included the IRGC and its proxies Kataeb Hezbollah, Hezbollah and the Iran's Houthi sock puppets ...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The legitimate Yemeni government has accused the them of having ties to the Iranian government. Honest they did. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. On February 28, the day the war began, al-Saadi posted on Telegram, "Do not abandon the blood of your imam of the time, oh Shiites of Iraq. Kill everyone who supports America and Israel."
"Civil and military targets, as well as voices of discord, kill them everywhere," he said in Arabic.
In another statement, on X, he said, "Every individual or group capable of killing an American or Zionist target, whether civilian or military, in any country of the world, should begin by targeting them."
A week later, in a typo-strewn English-language post on Snapchat titled "Shadow soldiers," he said, "To all jihadens people in weast ,east earth ...Its permission to all silent cells (R362 — C357 — A351) For work."
Investigators said the messages were meant to "activate terrorist cells around the world." It wasn’t clear what the code "R362 — C357 — A351" referred to. The attacks began days later.
PSYCHOLOGICAL WARFARE
The day of the first attacks in Europe, al-Saadi posted a call on Telegram for "warriors of Islam" to engage in "jihad." He began posting images of attacks, including against synagogues, Jewish schools, the Hatzola ambulances and London’s Israeli embassy, with HAYI’s logo.
Prosecutors said al-Saadi had been on FaceTime calls with the assailants during some of the attacks, and had created and disseminated propaganda videos of the incidents.
He told Sherlocks he was responsible for HAYI’s media operation, and that the propaganda footage of the attacks was "psychological warfare" meant to stoke terror in civilians.
In March, al-Saadi told a Kataeb Hezbollah contact that, "The most important thing is that within the psychological warfare, [the HAYI messages] are useful," and that "anything that distracts the enemy is useful."
Also in March, al-Saadi sent a contact at a Chinese media company raw footage of the arson against Hatzola ambulance in London, the indictment said.
After the stabbing of two Jewish men in London, HAYI grabbed credit, al-Saadi told a contact to post footage of the attack, and added that "there will be a shooting at a restaurant," which did not materialize.
He also sought to target the US. His iPhone and social media accounts had images of him meeting with Iranian personnel in a military intelligence building with a map of the US on the wall and a list of "legitimate targets" in the US.
In a March call with an FBI informant, al-Saadi said he was "running multiple teams," was willing to kill people, and asked the informant to help attack targets in the US and Canada, such as "Jewish synagogues" and "Zionist headquarters."
In April, in a statement bearing HAYI’s logo, he called on followers to kill US President Donald Trump ...The Hero of Butler, Pennsylvania... He asked the informant about having a Mexican cartel use a boom-mobile or an improvised bomb to attack Jewish targets in the US, said that a hand grenade was not "powerful" enough, and asked if the assailants were willing to kill people.
"This war will not end. Either they eradicate us, or we eradicate them," he said.
Al-Saadi sent the informant a photograph and a map showing the location of a prominent New York synagogue and directed him to attack the site, and shared the locations of two Jewish targets in Los Angeles and Arizona. The complaint did not identify the specific targets.
He sent the undercover officer a down payment of $3,000 in cryptocurrency and said he would send another $7,000 when the attack was completed. He added that it was "most important" that the attacks "be recorded."
He repeatedly pushed the informant to carry out the attacks immediately, saying, "I wanna see good news tonight."
He was detained while traveling immediately after and transferred to New York on May 14.
Al-Saadi has been charged with eight counts related to terrorism, conspiracy, and bombings. He will be arraigned on Monday.

CHILD MARRIAGE WAS DECLINING BEFORE THE WAR
Before the war, child marriage had been slowly declining in Gaza, according to the Paleostinian Central Bureau of Statistics. In 2022, the last tally released by the bureau, 17.8 percent of marriages involved a girl under the age of 18, down from more than 22% in 2015.
The minimum legal age for marriage in Gaza is 17, with some exceptions allowed; the UN and most humanitarian groups categorize marriages of girls under 18 as early marriage.
That trend appears to have reversed.

MARRIAGE IS SEEN AS A WAY TO EASE THE FAMILY BURDEN
Most of the girls who spoke to the AP said they were not coerced by their parents to marry. But they felt a duty to ease the burden on their families.
By marrying, they were counted with their husbands as a separate family to receive aid from relief groups, rather than being under their parents’ allotment. Several girls also said that since schools largely shut down during the war, they saw no hope of continuing their education.
One girl said she and her parents and seven brothers and sisters were displaced more than 25 times during the war. Her father had been totally against early marriage and wanted her to enrol in university. But the family was so desperate that he agreed to a suitor.
She said she agreed as well. She was 16.
The law in Gaza allows exceptions to the minimum age of 17 with parental consent and authorization by a judge. The Supreme Shariah Court has rules for court officials not to approve exceptions below the age of 14 years and seven months.
But parents sometimes enter informal agreements without officially registering the marriage. Two mothers who spoke to the AP did so, one of them after an official refused because her daughter was 14.
In the West Bank, the Paleostinian Authority in 2019 set the minimum age at 18, and early marriages have plunged since to around 5%, according to official statistics.
Siyam said that at times of widespread displacement in conflicts with Israel, some Paleostinians have seen marriage as a way to bring stability for their daughters. "Wars and conflicts lead to a return to more conservative traditions," she said.
Younger girls who marry are more vulnerable to rape and violence, including abuse from in-laws as they load household chores on them, Siyam said. Because divorce rates in early marriages are high, "the girl ends up returning home with one or two children."

The maternity ward of Awda Hospital in central Gaza saw an increase in the rate of teenage pregnancies during the war, said the ward’s head, Yasser Shaaban. Many suffered severe health complications from getting pregnant so young, he said.
On top of that, the vast majority were malnourished, as restrictions on aid drove Gaza’s population to the brink of famine at times.
Four of the girls who spoke to the AP had given birth, and all described dangerous pregnancies or births. Three had at least one miscarriage.
One of them almost died during childbirth from severe bleeding, her mother said. She was 16 and severely malnourished at the time.
