[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] A Florida police officer issued a ticket to an amputee for apparently holding her phone in a hand she does not have.
Kathleen Thomas, 36, was pulled over on a highway and accused of having driven 'holding the phone with your right hand, manipulating that phone,' according to bodycam footage.
But as soon as the county sheriff said that, Thomas held up her right arm, showing a stump where her limb would be and laughing hysterically.
'Obviously not,' she said, still cracking up. 'So you want to just call this a day or?'
However, the officer did not budge while Thomas insisted that he could not have seen her holding a phone in her right hand.
He then bizarrely asked her to put a 'hand to God' and repeat that she had not been texting while driving in Lake Worth Beach, about one hour north of Miami, on February 11.
'The other hand to God,' the officer responded when Thomas lifted up her stump.
Thomas then raised her other hand before the officer asked her for her license and registration.
The citation listed Thomas's charge as 'Wireless Comm. Device/Handheld While Driving - First Offense' with a civil penalty of $116, according to CBS 12.
In an Instagram video uploaded to a now–deleted personal account, Thomas said she was getting ready for court this week and had been sent the body camera footage.
Thomas added that she had entered a not guilty plea remotely, according to Complex.
However, Thomas ended up not having to appear in court.
Records showed her citation was dismissed at the request of the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office deputy who issued it.
The scheduled court hearing was canceled when the case was dropped.
Florida law makes texting while driving a primary offense, meaning drivers can be pulled over for just that violation.
Drivers cannot manually type or enter multiple letters, numbers, symbols or other characters into devices, according to state law.
That includes texting, e–mailing and instant messaging.
However, it includes several exceptions, as drivers can use devices for navigation, GPS, safety and emergency purposes.
Still, that means that merely holding a phone is not illegal under current Florida law.
'Whether she's holding it in her right hand or her left hand, it really doesn't matter,' traffic attorney Ted Hollander told CBS 12. 'If you are not in a school zone or a construction zone, you are allowed to hold a cell phone.'

For those who are not familiar with the "grade floor" policy, it is a practice that prevents teachers from giving a student a grade below the actual percentage the student earned.
The most common "floor" school systems adopt is the 50% minimum. Basically, a student need not do any work to earn at least a 50%. It's part of what is called "equity grading" which should be correctly called "enabling grading" because it enables students to appoint themselves as "victims" in order to skate by without achieving educational proficiency in school. [Breitbart] A German regional court on Wednesday sentenced 67 year-old Daniela Klette, a former member of the far-left militant Red Army Faction (RAF), to 13 years in prison for her role in a series of armed robberies she committed during decades on the run.
Klette, described by outlets in the past as “Germany’s most-wanted woman,” spent three decades of her life as a fugitive of the law due to her past involvement with the Red Army Faction, a violent far-left group that killed dozens and injured hundreds before it disbanded in 1998. She was finally arrested on February 26, 2024 in Berlin, where she was found to have been hiding in plain sight all these years under a false identity. Her conviction follows a roughly a year-long trial process that reportedly began in March 2025.
German authorities accused Klette and fellow former RAF members Ernst-Volker Staub and Burkhard Garweg of committing a series of armed robberies against cash-in-transit vehicles and supermarkets across several cities in Lower Saxony and North Rhine-Westphalia between 1999 and 2016, after RAF’s dissolution. Prosecutors reportedly argued that the trio committed the robberies to fund their underground fugitive lives. At press time, Staub and Garweg remain on the run.
Die Welt reports that a Verden regional court convicted Klette of aggravated robbery, attempted aggravated robbery, violations of weapons laws, extortionate kidnapping, and aggravated extortion. Five of the offenses were not further prosecuted, and the case instead focused on eight robberies committed by the group. Per Deutsche Welle, some 2.4 million euros (roughly $2.8 million) were collectively stolen by the group throughout their armed robberies.
Supporters of the elderly former far-left militant gathered at the court during the sentence hearing reportedly protested the sentence with boos and, “Freedom for Daniela” shouts before they were escorted out of the courtroom. Counter Extremism Project senior director Hans-Jakob Schindler told the BBC that Daniela Klette has become “a kind of grandmother heroine for the extreme left in Berlin.”
Both Die Welt and Deutsche Welle noted that Daniela Klette could face another trial after federal prosecutors brought attempted murder charges against her earlier this year for actions allegedly committed by Klette during her tenure at RAF. Although any terrorism charges related to her past RAF membership are reportedly past the statute of limitations, prosecutors seek to formally accuse her over her alleged complicity in three attacks committed by the far-left group between 1990 and 1993.
At the time of her arrest in 2024, German investigators reportedly found multiple weapons, ammunition, a replica anti-tank weapon, forged identity documents, wigs, gold, and 240,000 euros in cash at Klette’s apartment. Deutsche Welle detailed that kettle appear to have live a “normal social life” during the years she spent hiding n plain sight in Berlin, and even took vacations abroad and shared her apartment with a Brazilian man who reportedly affirmed that he had no idea of her true identity until after she was arrested.

[FoxNews] David J. Rush allegedly claimed $40M in gold bars and foreign currency were for 'work-related expenses'
A former senior U.S. government official with top secret security clearance was arrested after the FBI raided his Virginia home and discovered a staggering $40 million stash of gold bars, $2 million in cash and 35 luxury watches, court documents reveal.
David J. Rush was arrested May 19 and is facing federal charges for theft of public money after allegedly swindling the government out of tens of millions of dollars while posing as a highly decorated Navy Reserve captain and Air Force test pilot.
He held a senior position with the CIA until recently, according to a report from The New York Times.
According to an unsealed criminal complaint and FBI affidavit, the grift unraveled after Rush made multiple requests to his agency between November 2025 and March 2026 for a "significant quantity of foreign currency and tens of millions of dollars in gold bars."
Rush claimed the payout was strictly for "work-related expenses," but an FBI search of his home on May 18 turned up roughly 303 one-kilogram gold bars, $2 million in U.S. currency and dozens of luxury watches, many of which were Rolexes, according to court documents.
A federal investigation revealed that despite holding a Senior Executive Service (SES) rank and Top Secret/SCI clearance, Rush routinely lied about his military background and education.
In applications for his high-level job, Rush claimed he was a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Test Pilot School and the "current director of test for a 145-person, 18-aircraft joint Army/Navy weapons test organization," according to court documents.
However, military records show Rush was never a pilot and held no FAA licenses; his actual duties in the Navy included working as an information systems technician. "But I played MS's Flight Simulator!"
He also allegedly faked his educational credentials to boost his federal salary, claiming he held a bachelor’s degree from Clemson University and a master's degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, according to the filings.
Registrars from both universities confirmed to the FBI they have no record of Rush ever attending their schools.
Further, the FBI claims that Rush scammed the government out of $77,000 in fraudulent military leave, claiming 744 hours of paid time off by telling his employer he was actively serving as a Navy Reserve captain (O-6) through September 2025.
Rush was honorably discharged a decade earlier, in February 2015, as a lieutenant (O-3), according to court documents.
He is currently being held in federal custody by the U.S. Marshals after a judge initially denied his request for release.
Rush recently waived his right to a preliminary hearing, and a magistrate judge found probable cause to move the case to a grand jury.
The FBI and CIA did not immediately respond to inquiries from Fox News Digital.

What a colossal Charlie Foxtrot. How did he get in the front door? OGA does their own backgrounds (cough..2015 OPM Hack..cough) so they know exactly who didn't do the most basic of record checks. This is BI 101 stuff - verify education. A school bus driver gets checked.
He applied x 3 - another red flag. CI should've been all over this BI from day 1. Then he's on a rocket ship for promotions. SES/SIS in 10 years? Virtually unheard of in any USG dept.
The same people that did his BI are now going over everything he touched/did. But of course this will be buried. "We investigated ourselves and found no wrongdoing by ourselves" yada yada.

I don’t imagine I have one, Chris, which is just as well. Keeping secrets is not my strength, so I prefer not knowing such things. Knowing things that are not secrets is a different story.

Chris, I had a low level one while I was in the service, but they aren’t portable and expire when you leave a job where they are required. Anyone with an active security clearance is unlikely to be sharing opinions in this type of forum. The folks with active clearances share their opinions in Georgetown bars after James O’Keefe gets them hammered.

The cutbacks also reflect the Democrats’ difficulty in funding their hugely expensive urban political machines.
