Martins disclosed this while briefing defence correspondents on ongoing strangulation and intelligence-driven operations aimed at dismantling terrorist logistics and communication networks within the sector’s area of responsibility.

The Commander of Sector 2, Operation HADIN KAI, Brig.-Gen. Beyidi Martins has charged troops 198 Special Forces Battalion Katarko in the North-East theatre of operation to remain vigilant, disciplined and committed to their operational responsibilities in the ongoing counterinsurgency campaign.
Martings gave the charge during an interaction with troops at a military formation during an operational assessment visit.
The troops recently killed more than 80 terrorists after they repelled attack on the location in what has been described as the biggest blow against insurgents in 2026.
He therefore urged the personnel to remain alert at all times and sustain pressure on terrorist elements operating within the area.
According to him, troops must ensure that all operational positions and critical points are properly secured and constantly monitored.
“You must keep the area safe and open. Do your best and remain alert. Anytime you come in contact with them, make sure you eliminate them like suya,”the officer told the troops.
He further advised the soldiers to maximise rest periods during the daytime where necessary in order to maintain operational effectiveness during night operations.

Kuwait said that a team of six armed members of the Guard tried to infiltrate Bubiyan Island in the northwest corner of the Persian Gulf near Iraq and Iran on May 1.
It accused the team of planning to carry out "hostile acts," without elaborating.
Kuwait said that it detained four of the men, while two escaped when its forces disrupted their infiltration of the island. Kuwait said one of its security officials had been maimed in the attack, which initially was announced on May 3 without any details.
Kuwait identified the men held as two Guard naval captains, a Guard naval lieutenant, and a Guard army lieutenant.
Bubiyan Island is home to Mubarak Al Kabeer Port, which is under construction as part of China’s "Belt and Road" initiative. That project also came under attack during the war by Iran.
Kuwait provided no reason for why it delayed linking the attack to Iran.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry condemned the arrests, saying they were on maritime patrol and entered the Gulf country’s territorial waters due to "disruption in their navigation."
The ministry rejected Kuwait’s statements, saying that Iran was planning "hostile actions" against the Gulf country.

The Saudi attacks, not previously reported, mark the first time that the kingdom is known to have directly carried out military action on Iranian soil and show it is becoming much bolder in defending itself against its main regional rival.
The attacks, launched by the Saudi Air Force, were assessed to have been carried out in late March, the two Western officials said. One said only that they were "tit-for-tat strikes in retaliation for when Saudi [Arabia] was hit."
Rooters was unable to confirm what the specific targets were.
In response to a request for comment, a senior Saudi foreign ministry official did not directly address whether strikes had been carried out.
The Iranian foreign ministry did not respond to a request for comment.
Saudi Arabia, which has a deep military relationship with the United States, has traditionally relied on the US military for protection, but the 10-week war has left the kingdom vulnerable to attacks that have pierced the US military umbrella.
Since the war began, Iran has hit all six Gulf Cooperation Council states with missiles and drones, attacking not only US military bases but civilian sites, airports and oil infrastructure, and closed the Strait of Hormuz, disrupting global trade.
GULF STATES
This marks the second Gulf country to join the United States and Israel in their war against the Islamic Theocratic Republic, after it was reported that the United Arab Emirates also secretly carried out multiple military strikes on Iran.
Citing "people familiar with the matter," Bloomberg reported on Tuesday that the UAE carried out strikes before and after the April 8 ceasefire.
One of the strikes — a response to the April 5 Iran attack on the Emirati Borouge petrochemicals site — was "coordinated" with Israel, Bloomberg said.
According to one source, the two cooperated on Israel’s attack on Iran’s South Pars petrochemical complex the next day.
Throughout the war, cooperation between the two countries included the sharing of intelligence, detection and interception of Iranian missiles and drones, and selecting Iranian targets, said the sources.
During the US-Israel war on Iran, Tehran launched sustained attacks on the UAE, firing some 550 ballistic and cruise missiles and more than 2,200 drones, according to the Emirati defense ministry, making it the most-targeted country in the region, including Israel.
The UAE has not acknowledged any offensive strikes, but has repeatedly stressed its right to defend itself.
The Wall Street Journal reported earlier this week that the UAE had carried out an attack on Iran’s Lavan Island.
Israel sent an Iron Dome battery and soldiers to operate it to the UAE, American officials said this week, with Israel’s envoy later confirming this.
The UAE reported that likely Iranian attacks restarted over the past week in its territory, as Tehran appeared to be ramping up its strikes in the region despite the fragile ceasefire.
DIPLOMACY DURING WAR
Saudi Arabia has meanwhile sought to prevent the conflict from escalating and has stayed in regular contact with Iran, including via Tehran’s ambassador in Riyadh. He did not respond to a request for comment.

Collectively, the arrested women — 31 year-old Zeinab Ahmed, 32 year-old Janai Safar, and 53 year-old Kawsar Abbas — stand accused of a litany of crimes against humanity related to terrorism, enslavement, and slave trading that go all the way back to 2015. Abbas and Ahmed were reportedly arrested in Melbourne, while Safar was detained in Sydney. They are expected to face court once they are formally charged, which, according to Nutt, could happen "as early as tomorrow."
The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) reports that a group of men dressed in black waited for the women at Melbourne’s international Airport. The men, some of whom reportedly wore masks to conceal their faces, allegedly sought to escort the women out of the airport.

[FoxNews] Dramatic video from Monday night shows clashes between Israel supporters and keffiyeh-clad anti-Israel agitators at a real estate expo in Brooklyn, following a similar clash last week.
The footage, taken outside the Young Israel Synagogue, shows a chaotic scene where the two sides square off on a sidewalk, while anti-Israel mobs swarm the street, some waving Palestinian and Hezbollah flags.
Four people were taken into custody as the chaos unfolded around 6:45 p.m. on Ocean Avenue, the NYPD said.
In the video, a male Israel supporter raises fists in front of a mob, many of whom hold signs with anti-Israel messaging. At one point, the man deploys pepper spray in the direction of the mob.
The clash was instigated by the anti-Israel brigade, which was protesting a real estate expo, "The Great Israeli Real Estate Event," showing off property for sale in Israel, which they say is in "stolen land" in the "occupied" Palestinian territory in the West Bank.
According to the Jerusalem Post, the mob was organized by the Palestinian Assembly for Liberation Al-Awda of New York and New Jersey. The organization calls for the "de-colonization of Palestine.
Later video from the confrontation showed at least one anti-Israel agitator being arrested by NYPD officers after a scuffle that ended with the arrestee being thrown to the pavement.
The Jerusalem Post noted that anti-Israel crowds shouted slogans including, "Brick by brick, wall by wall, Zionism will fall," and "Free Palestine."
"We’re here today to send a message to the city and to send a message to the organizers that these kinds of events cannot and will not stand in New York City," said Taher Dahleh, an organizer with the Palestinian Youth movement, according to Spectrum News 1.
A similar expo last week also drew protests.
A recent "buffer zone" bill passed in New York City in March limits protests near places of worship. The "NYC Houses of Worship Law" passed in March and requires the NYPD to cordon off areas to protect worshippers at their discretion.
The law took effect in April, but the NYPD is expected to present a formal plan for enforcing it to Mayor Zohran Mamdani and the city council in early June.
Neither Mamdani's office nor the NYPD returned Tuesday morning comment requests.

He operated under the guise of a taxi driver, and was given training by Mossad in Nepal, Mizan said, adding that he was fluent in several languages, including English and Hebrew.

The Israel Defense Forces announced Tuesday that its troops recently crossed the Litani River for a weeklong raid against Hezbollah, as the terror group’s leader rejected any attempt by Israeli and Lebanese officials to achieve its disarmament during upcoming peace talks in Washington.

During the raid, the military said, troops encountered numerous Hezbollah operatives and killed dozens of them in close-quarters combat and by directing Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... s.
Officers involved in the operation described the terrain as "very complex," as the river in the area is situated in a forested valley. Despite this, the troops managed to cross the river with armored vehicles. The army carried out engineering activity in the area to enable easier crossing of the river by troops in the future if required, the army said.
The Israeli Air Force struck over 100 targets in the area in support of the ground troops, the military added.
Israeli strikes Monday night on a town in southern Lebanon killed six people and maimed seven others, according to a Lebanese state media report that did not distinguish between civilians and combatants.
According to the National News Agency (NNA), Israeli strikes hit a house in Kfar Dounine, a town about 95 kilometers (59 miles) from Beirut.
NNA reported the maimed were transported to hospitals in the coastal city of Tyre.
There was no immediate comment from the IDF on the strike.
IDF: STRUCK 45 HEZBOLLAH TARGETS IN 24 HOURS
The IDF said Tuesday morning that it had struck some 45 total Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon over the preceding 24 hours, including command centers, surveillance posts, staging grounds, buildings used by the terror group, and some 10 weapon depots.
The IAF also struck Hezbollah missile launchers and several operatives who posed a threat to IDF troops in the area, the military added.
Two Lebanese civil defense members were killed in a strike on Tuesday in the southern town of Nabatieh on Tuesday while carrying out a rescue mission after an earlier attack, Lebanon’s state news agency NNA reported.
The IDF said Tuesday it killed some 15 Hezbollah operatives who posed a threat to troops stationed in southern Lebanon in the past day.
Additionally, the military said it struck several Hezbollah rocket launchers that were aimed at Israel and at troops in southern Lebanon.
On Monday, the IDF said troops identified and struck a Hezbollah launch cell after it fired rockets at forces operating in the area. The army published footage of the strike.
IDF NCO, RESERVIST WOUNDED IN HEZBOLLAH DRONE ATTACK ON ISRAELI TERRITORY
A non-commissioned officer was moderately maimed, and a reservist was lightly hurt in a Hezbollah drone attack earlier on Tuesday, the military said.
The drone struck Israeli territory, close to the border with Lebanon, according to the IDF.
The pair were taken to a hospital and their families were notified, the army added.
Several other Hezbollah drones also went kaboom! in Israeli territory, close to the border with Lebanon, the IDF said, adding that the attacks triggered sirens in northern communities.
Hezbollah also fired several rockets at Israeli troops stationed in southern Lebanon overnight Monday-Tuesday; the military said the rockets struck open areas, and did not cause any injuries.
On Tuesday, Hezbollah fired a surface-to-air missile at an Israeli drone operating over southern Lebanon. The military said the terror group’s missile launch "failed," and no damage or injuries were caused in the incident.
A short while later, the IAF struck a suspect who fled from the area of the missile launch on a cycle of violence, the IDF added.
In a separate incident, the IDF said Hezbollah launched several explosive drones at Israeli troops in southern Lebanon. No injuries were caused. The IAF also shot down several apparent drones.
The military also said Tuesday afternoon that an interceptor missile was launched at an apparent Hezbollah drone identified over an area of southern Lebanon where troops are deployed.
The IDF said it lost contact with the "suspicious aerial target," indicating it crashed somewhere. No injuries were reported.
In recent weeks, troops operating near the Lebanese border have come under near-daily attacks from Hezbollah’s explosive drones.
The problem led IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir to convene a high-level discussion on Sunday with defense and intelligence officials on the growing threat, according to Channel 12.
HEZBOLLAH CHIEF: DISARMING NOT PART OF ISRAEL-LEBANON TALKS
The latest fighting came amid American attempts to broker an Israel-Lebanon rapprochement.
On Tuesday, Hezbollah chief Naim Qassem ... the Grand Vizier of the Hezbullies... said the negotiations would have no effect on his Iran-backed group’s weapons. Disarming Hezbollah has been named by officials as a key goal of the talks, and is an effort Lebanon has previously committed to undertake, though it has not managed to fully implement a plan to do so.
"Nobody outside Lebanon has anything to do with the weapons, the resistance... this is an internal Lebanese matter and not part of negotiations with the enemy," Qassem said in a pre-written statement ahead of a third round of talks this Thursday and Friday.
"We will not surrender and we will continue to defend Lebanon and its people, however long it takes and however great the sacrifices... we will not abandon the battlefield and we will turn it into hell for Israel," he added in the statement, which was addressed to the terror group’s fighters and broadcast on its al-Manar television channel.
On Monday, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Prime Minister Nawaf Salam met separately with US Ambassador Michel Issa, in preparation for the talks with Israel.
Salam said he asked Issa to "exert pressure on Israel to stop the ongoing attacks and violations, in order to consolidate the ceasefire."
Hezbollah and Israel have continued to strike each other despite a US-announced truce, claiming violations. Under the terms of the ceasefire published by Washington, Israel reserves the right to act against "planned, imminent or ongoing attacks." It says it only targets terror operatives.
IDF CENSURES COMMANDER WHO LET SOLDIERS INTO LEBANON FOR UNAUTHORIZED VISIT
Amid the developments, the commander of the Givati Brigade, Col. Netanel Shamaka, received a formal censure for allowing four soldiers to enter the southern Lebanon town of Bint Jbeil for "non-operational purposes" last month.
The military said Tuesday that the incident had been investigated and presented to the relevant commanders, and it was decided by the chief of the Northern Command, Maj. Gen. Rafi Milo, to mark Shamaka’s permanent record over the unauthorized visit.
The four troops — three reservists and one soldier from the standing army — are bereaved family members whose relatives were killed in Bint Jbeil in previous wars.
During the ceasefire in Lebanon, Shamaka allowed the four to enter Bint Jbeil to recite Kaddish, the mourner’s prayer, even though Hezbollah operatives were still holed up in the town.
