[SudanWarMonitor] SAF regains control of Al-Keili from rebel coalition
The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) said Saturday that its troops had recaptured the military garrison at Al-Keili in southern Blue Nile State, marking the first known reversal of recent territorial gains made by rebel Founding Alliance (Ta’sees) in the region.
Videos circulating on social media show Sudanese soldiers inside Al-Keili following the operation. Sudan War Monitor geolocated one video to a medical facility inside the town, confirming that SAF recaptured it from the RSF-led Ta’sees Alliance, which had overran the SAF garrison late last month.
Another clip published by official military media showed Blue Nile Governor Ahmed Al-Omda Badi alongside several members of the military, claiming that Al-Keili had been “liberated” from the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
RSF troops have spearheaded a four-month offensive in Blue Nile State, operating from the territory of their SPLM-North allies, with logistical and aerial support from bases in neighboring Ethiopia.
The rebel alliance operates under the patronage of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which opposes Sudan’s government for a mix of ideological and economic reasons. The UAE has provided the rebels with advanced drones, combat vehicles, financing, military training, and logistical support.

Sources disclosed that the precision strike was conducted in the early hours of Monday following credible intelligence on the movement and concentration of terrorists within the area.
Sources told Zagazola Makama that the strike targeted strategic terrorist locations and logistics assets within the enclave.
According to the source, several terrorist vehicles and structures were destroyed during the bombardment, while multiple insurgents were neutralised in the operation.
“The air interdiction was successful. Battle damage assessment and intelligence monitoring confirmed that several terrorists were eliminated during the strike,” the source said.

The United Arab Emirates carried out military strikes on Iran, making it the only other country to join the United States and Israel in its war against the Islamic Theocratic Republic, according to a report on Monday.
The strikes, which the UAE has not publicly acknowledged, included an attack on a refinery on Iran’s Lavan Island in the Persian Gulf, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing people familiar with the matter.
The attack took place in early April, the report said, which said it was around the time US President Donald Trump ...The Hero of Butler, Pennsylvania... announced a ceasefire, but did not specify if it was before or after the declaration.

The Lavan Island attack is the only specific instance of the UAE participating in the war mentioned in the report.
One of the sources told the WSJ that Washington positively received Abu Dhabi’s participation in the war, after other Gulf countries refused to actively join in the conflict.
The UAE’s Foreign Ministry declined the Journal’s request for comment on the reported strikes, but noted past declarations that it had a right to respond to Iran’s attacks. The Pentagon also declined to comment.
In March, multiple Hebrew media outlets put out near-simultaneous reports that the UAE had struck a desalination plant in Iran in response to Tehran’s strikes across the Gulf. The reports sparked fury among Emirati officials, who called out what they called false Israeli media reports.
The WSJ article did not shed light on that report.

The UAE reported likely Iranian attacks restarted over the past week in their territories, as Tehran appeared to be ramping up its strikes in the region despite the fragile ceasefire.
Iran, which had vowed to strike US bases in the region, targeted states across the Gulf with missile fire during the war. It also blocked the Strait of Hormuz, choking off a key pathway for the flow of oil and natural gas.
While most projectiles fired at the UAE were intercepted, some struck military and civilian targets.
Israel launched its campaign against Iran, alongside the US, to degrade the Iranian regime’s military capabilities, distance threats posed by Iran — including its nuclear and ballistic missile programs — and "create the conditions" for the Iranian people to topple the regime, the military and other Israeli leaders have said.
The ceasefire declared by Trump in April came with the core declared goals of the war unfulfilled.

"Erfan Shakourzadeh... was hanged for collaborating with the US intelligence service and the Mosssd ...sees all, knows all, gets 'em all in the end... spy service," the judiciary’s Mizan Online website said.
It did not specify when he was executed or when he was arrested, but said he worked at one of Iran’s "scientific organizations active in the satellite field."
Iran has long faced Western accusations that its satellite program is being used to advance ballistic missile capabilities.
Mizan said Shakourzadeh had "knowingly and willingly" passed classified information to the CIA and Mossad.
According to rights group Iran Human Rights Society, Shakourzadeh, a 29-year-old graduate of aerospace engineering, was arrested in 2025 and was forced into his confession.
Iran is the world’s second-most prolific executioner after China, according to rights groups.
Norway-based group Iran Human Rights says the Islamic Theocratic Republic executed at least 1,500 people last year, one of the highest numbers worldwide.
Last week, Tehran executed three men convicted of involvement in anti-government protests that rocked the country in December and January.

An IDF reservist was killed in a Hezbollah drone attack in northern Israel, the Israel Defense Forces said on Monday.
The slain soldier was named as Warrant Officer (res.) Alexander Glovanyov, 47, a driver in the Transport Center’s 6924th Battalion, from Petah Tikva.
The attack took place around 4 p.m. on Sunday, when several explosive-laden drones launched by Hezbollah struck in Israeli territory near Manara, close to the border with Leb ...The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozen flavors of Christians, plus Armenians, Georgians, and who knows what else?... . One of the drones killed Glovanyov, according to an IDF probe.
He was survived by his wife, his 15-year-old son and his eight-month-old daughter.
His mother Flora said that Glovanyov would always try to reassure her that he was safe.
"We spoke the day before yesterday for the last time. I was afraid of what was happening in the north," she told the Ynet news site.
"I called him and he would always tell me, ’Everything is fine.’ Until yesterday it was fine," she said. "Alexander was a good person. He was my only son. I have no one now."
Glovanyov is the fifth soldier to be killed in southern Lebanon amid the apparent ceasefire.
Three IDF soldiers were lightly injured in one of a number of explosive drone attacks carried out by Hezbollah in southern Lebanon on Monday, the military said. The troops were taken to a hospital and their families were notified.
The IDF said that an Israeli Air Force helicopter that was dispatched to evacuate troops maimed in a Hezbollah drone attack got stuck due to a technical malfunction.
The chopper landed in southern Lebanon but was unable to take off again, the military said. Another helicopter was then dispatched to take the three maimed soldiers to a hospital. The military said the helicopter was not hit by enemy fire, and the malfunction was technical.
IAF technicians managed to fix the issue and the helicopter later took off safely from the area, the military added.
Hours later, the IDF issued evacuation warnings for nine villages in southern Lebanon ahead of Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... s targeting the terror group.
Residents of Rihan, Jarjouaa, Kfar Roummane, Nmairiyeh, Arab Salim, Jmaijmeh, Mashgharah, Qellaya, and Harouf were instructed to evacuate at least a kilometer away.
"In light of the Hezbollah terror organization’s violations of the ceasefire agreement, the IDF is forced to act against it with force and does not intend to harm you," warned army front man Col. Avichay Adraee.

Lebanon’s health ministry reported that a Syrian man and his 12-year-old daughter were killed by Israeli dronezaps while riding a cycle of violence in Nabatieh.
In response to a query by The Times of Israel, the IDF said that it had identified several suspects leaving a building known to be used by Hezbollah for military activity.
"To remove the threat, troops carried out precise strikes on the suspects near the building," the military said.
The IDF added it was aware of civilians harmed by the strike, adding that the incident is under further investigation.
Lebanese media reports at the time said that the drone repeatedly targeted the girl even after she fled the initial strike.
Hezbollah began fighting Israel on March 2, days after the outbreak of the US-Israeli war with Iran, drawing heavy Israeli airstrikes and an expanded IDF ground presence in Lebanon. A ceasefire in that conflict that began in mid-April has largely unraveled.

Salam was responding when asked whether the negotiations with Israel were aimed at a ceasefire or a peace agreement.
He stressed that currently, Lebanon is engaged in what he described as preliminary talks with Israel in Washington, DC, in preparation for entering more substantive negotiations.
According to Salam, Lebanon’s demands are a ceasefire, a full Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory, and the release of Lebanese prisoners held in Israeli prisons who were detained during the fighting in Lebanon.
"After the Lebanese demands are implemented, we are open to discussing conditions for peace within a broader Arab framework, because this has implications for Arab states," Salam said.
The Lebanese premier acknowledged that the Iran-backed Hezbollah terror group opposes negotiations with Israel. But he noted that Lebanon had previously entered negotiations with Israel in 1983 — those talks proved unsuccessful.
Last week, IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir said during a visit to troops posted in southern Lebanon that there "is no ceasefire."
Zamir’s comments came amid a reported push from Jerusalem to get the US to limit the historic direct talks with the Lebanese government to a two-week timeframe, and to sign off on a large-scale IDF campaign against Hezbollah if the talks fail.
