[DM] A Texas father has shot and killed a carjacker who brazenly tried to steal his vehicle while his family was inside it.
The unidentified man and his relatives were sitting in a Garland parking lot when a bandit approached the driver's side door and attempted to get in, surveillance video obtained by Fox 4 showed.
The father immediately got out of the sedan and attempted to keep the assailant from entering it, while the rest of his family fled, around 3.30pm on Sunday.
The two struggled as the carjacker managed to get inside the driver's seat. They continued to tussle until the criminal pushed the father out and stood up, closing the back door before getting into the vehicle again.
In a flash, the father managed to get around to the passenger's side front door, where he allegedly fired more than ten rounds at the assailant.
The criminal was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
The father turned his gun over to police and is cooperating in the investigation, officials added.
Police are unlikely to file charges against the Texan, as Lieutenant Pedro Barineau told Fox 4 that his actions 'seemed to be self-defense.'

The father showed a lot more restraint than I would have. The second the guy dove into my car with my kid in the carseat, he would have been breathing through new holes in his back.
The girl, identified as Jenna Hall, is now facing felony charges of making written or electronic threats to kill and unlawful use of a two-way communications device.
Detectives with the Volusia County Sheriff's Office in DeLand, Florida said they were alerted over the weekend after a Gaggle monitoring system flagged an explicit written message sent to a teacher at McInnis Elementary.
According to an arrest affidavit obtained by ClickOrlando, the message included a stream of abusive language and threats of violence, culminating in a direct warning: ‘Oh yeah and last day im shooting up the school, revolver style.’
Gaggle, the monitoring system that flagged the message, is commonly used by schools to scan student communications for potential threats, allowing authorities to intervene quickly.

Garrett Cox, 12, has been left heartbroken ever since the death of his 400-pound hog Bootsy.
The two were closely bonded, as Garrett relied on her to help manage his ADHD and autism, according to his mom Kerrie Cox.
But horror struck last week after the family realized Bootsy had escaped from her pen at their home in Hoschton, a rural town located 50 miles northeast of Atlanta.
Garrett's father Matt Cox said he heard a gunshot shortly after and the family followed the sound to their neighbors' home.
They claimed they found Bootsy dead beside a pot of boiling water and the neighbors wearing aprons which lead them to believe they planned to eat Bootsy.
Kerrie told Fox 5 Atlanta that she asked one of them: 'Why would you do this? You knew she was our pig,' only to be met with laughter and derision.
Police have now arrested three people in connection with the case. Mai Kia Vang-Moua, 54, Maysy Moua, 59, and Kee Moua, 33, all face aggravated animal cruelty charges.
Cox said Garrett and Bootsy were inseparable as the boy devoted himself to feeding, bathing and playing with the animal in their backyard.
She said her son was struggling at school but had recently found purpose by training Bootsy for competitions with the Future Farmers of America group.
'As Bootsy grew, love grew,' Kerrie told Fox 5 Atlanta, adding that her son's confidence had gone 'through the roof' thanks to the animal.
Her husband said it appeared Bootsy had been restrained before being killed at close range.
'There was a rope with blood on it beside her body,' Matt told WSB-TV.
Police said the three neighbors told investigators they thought the pig was wild.
But the Cox family has pushed back against this, saying Bootsy had a livestock ear tag which clearly identified her as a farm animal.
If convicted, the suspects could each be sentenced to up to five years in jail and a fine of up to $15,000.
And escaped? You sure about that as well?

[Breitbart] The United States may block Chinese visitors if China’s government keeps blocking the deportation of roughly 30,000 Chinese illegal migrants who have been ordered for deportation by federal courts, says Reuters.
The warning comes shortly before President Donald Trump’s trip to China on May 14-15.

After accepting about 3,000 deportees via charter and commercial flights in early 2025, China has scaled back cooperation in the past six months, the senior U.S. official said. The official spoke on condition of anonymity in order to speak candidly about administration plans.
China “refuses to fully cooperate with the United States to take back its citizens,” the official said, calling it a violation of China’s international obligations and responsibility toward its people.

There are now more than 100,000 undocumented Chinese nationals in the U.S., the official said. More than 30,000 have final orders of removal [from judges], and of those, authorities have detained more than 1,500 awaiting deportation. Most in this last category have committed other crimes, the official said.
The U.S. cannot fly migrants back to their home countries without the countries’ permission. Many countries hinder their migrants’ return, including India, Laos, and Vietnam, partly because illegal migrants send billions of dollars back to their homelands.
Many of the Chinese illegal migrants were welcomed by President Joe Biden’s pro-migration border chief, Alejandro Mayorkas.

[Breitbart] Several top officials in the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) in Washington, D.C. are facing termination regarding an investigation “into the manipulation of crime data,” according to a recent report.
“Three officials familiar with the situation” confirmed to the Washington Post that “multiple high-ranking” officials within the MPD were given “papers saying the department intends to fire them.”
The officials, who wished to remain anonymous, told the outlet that “at least some of the proposed terminations” are related to the investigation.
In a press release on Tuesday from the D.C. Police Union, the union that represents 3,000 active MPD police officers, welcomed the department’s “decision to serve termination papers to multiple high-ranking command staff officials.”
“The DC Police Union, representing 3,000 active officers of the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), today welcomes the Metropolitan Police Department’s decision to serve termination papers to multiple high-ranking command staff officials,” the press release said. “These actions, tied directly to the department’s completed Internal Affairs investigation into the deliberate manipulation of crime data, mark a long-overdue step toward justice and the restoration of integrity with MPD.”
The union noted that in a press release from December 15, 2025, they had been “alone in condemning the systemic pattern of crime data manipulation under former Chief Pamela Smith.”
An MPD spokesperson also revealed that MPD’s Assistant Chief LaShay Makal and MPD’s Second District Commander Tatjana Savoy were “placed on administrative leave,” Fox5DC News reported. Makal and Shay are reported to be “among those facing potential discipline in the crime-statistics investigation.”
