U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) said Tuesday that the U.S. military carried out a lethal strike on a vessel in the Eastern Pacific, killing three suspected narco-terrorists.
The strike, which was conducted by Joint Task Force Southern Spear at the direction of Commander Gen. Francis L. Donovan, targeted a vessel that was operating along known narco-trafficking corridors and engaged in narco-trafficking activity.
No U.S. service members were injured in the operation, according to SOUTHCOM.

At least 23 soldiers of the Chadian Armed Forces have been killed and 26 others wounded following a deadly attack by suspected Boko Haram fighters on a military position in the Lake Chad region.
According to a statement issued by the military, the terrorists launched the assault late Monday night on a base located on the island of Barka Tolorom, within Lake Chad.
The army said troops engaged the attackers in a fierce firefight, eventually repelling the assault and inflicting significant casualties on the insurgents, although the exact number of those killed was not disclosed.
Boko Haram militants attacked the Barka Tolorom military base on the shores of Lake Chad in Chad on the evening of May 4. The Chadian Armed Forces reported this on May 5.
At least 23 soldiers were killed and 26 wounded in the attack. According to a statement from the Chadian Armed Forces General Staff, cited by Reuters, the army repelled the attack, neutralized a significant number of terrorists, and captured some of their equipment. A clearing operation is underway in the surrounding area.

The protest last year at Park East Synagogue, and another at a Queens Synagogue, led the New York City Council to introduce legislation requiring the police to formulate and publicize plans to handle protests at houses of worship.
That legislation passed late last month, but police are not yet required to take new measures.
