[Breitbart] Colombian model Valentina Forero Álvarez this week plead guilty of leading a multi-state criminal organization that used the U.S. financial system to launder more than $31 million in drug trafficking proceeds.
In a press release, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Georgia informed that Forero Álvarez, a 33 year-old woman from the Colombian city of Armenia, plead guilty on Tuesday.
U.S. Attorney Theodore S. Hertzberg detailed that the Colombian national directed a network of couriers who traveled to Colombia to launder the illegal drug trafficking money through the U.S. banking system.
As part of the laundering scheme, the office detailed, Forero Álvarez instructed non-U.S. citizens, mainly Colombian nationals, to travel to the U.S. on visitors visas, “conduct multiple pickups of bulk cash in cities across the country, and deposit the money into bank accounts held in the names of shell companies or U.S.-based businesses operating in the unregulated currency exchange market.”
The couriers made counter deposits into bank accounts while in Georgia and at least 14 other U.S. states. Investigations revealed that accounts opened by the couriers received more than $31 million in cash deposits, of which $2.9 million were deposited in the Northern District of Georgia. More than $4.8 million of suspected drug money was seized by agents.
“Forero Álvarez presided over an international network that exploited our financial system to launder millions of dollars of drug proceeds,” Hertzberg said. “Narco-terrorists and their associates who believe they can hide their crimes through complex laundering schemes or residency abroad will be found, brought to the United States, prosecuted, and held accountable.”
Her conviction carries a sentence of up to 20 years in prison, an a fine of up to twice the value of the laundered funds, in addition to other penalties. U.S. District Judge Steven D. Grimberg is set sentence Álvarez at a later date.
Colombia’s Caracol Radio reports that she was detained in Colombia on November 2023 and extradited to the United States on May 2025. In January, Colombian prosecutors reportedly seized three vehicles and three commercial establishments registered in the names of front companies, relatives, and individuals close to Forero Álvarez, none of whom had the “economic or financial capacity to prove the valid acquisition of the properties.” The seized assets collectively amounted to 7.3 billion Colombian pesos (roughly $2 million).
Univision’s local Atlanta branch reports that it obtained access to court documents detailing that the couriers collected cash from drug tales and transported it in shoe boxes and shopping bags, in bundles that could total “tens of thousands” of dollars each. Couriers received a percentage of the collected money as payment.
“After collecting the cash, the couriers deposited the money in banks in amounts less than $10,000 to avoid mandatory reporting,” Univision reported. “They also had to send photographs of the bank receipts to the defendant using encrypted messaging applications.”
According to Univision, after the deposits, the money was moved between front companies and then ultimately transferred to accounts in Colombia.
[ZERO] Update (1030ET): A man was detained for questioning in the apparent abduction of Nancy Guthrie, the mother of "Today" show co-host Savannah Guthrie, from her home outside of Tucson, Arizona over two weeks ago, several major outlets are reporting tonight.
The man was taken into custody after law enforcement circulated photos of a masked individual outside the 84-year-old Guthrie's front door the morning she disappeared. Several outlets are also reporting that there was a supposed ransom note received last week demanding payment to a Bitcoin wallet. According to outlet KGUN, a local TV station, the wallet had received a payment from someone for less than $300.
The FBI on Tuesday released surveillance footage from a Nest camera showing an armed person at the southern Arizona home of Nancy Guthrie, mother of network TV news anchor Savannah Guthrie.
Video shared by FBI Director Kash Patel shows a masked person wearing a jacket, gloves, pants and carrying a backpack. The person can be seen obstructing the camera, before walking into the front yard. They then return to the front door with a small flashlight in their mouth before attempting to cover the camera with what appears to be foliage, AZ Family reports.

Ah, so that's why this case is in the news, because of this host of the Today show. That's the most I've read about this case (already too much), and I stopped reading when I saw Kash Patel's name.

I have not followed the case, but if there is a dude with a flashlight between his teeth obscuring the camera, he is related to the case. I have no law enforcement background, but I expect that you can crowd investigate cases with national interest pretty rapidly by releasing clues.

A Paleostinian woman was hospitalized on Friday after suffering a seizure in US immigration detention, the US Department of Homeland Security said on Monday.
The legal team and family of Leqaa Kordia, a 33-year-old Moslem Paleostinian woman living in the US whose mother is an American citizen, said she was discharged from the hospital and returned to detention on Monday.
On Friday, "medical staff at the Prairieland Detention Center in Alvarado, Texas, notified ICE that detainee Leqaa Kordia was admitted to Texas Health Huguley Hospital in Burleson, Texas, for further evaluation following a seizure," a DHS spokesperson said.
Kordia was detained by US immigration authorities early last year during a meeting with immigration officials at the Newark Immigration and Customs Enforcement Field Office, where she was accompanied by her attorney.

Rights groups have reported on detainee complaints about conditions in ICE detention facilities, calling the conditions inhumane. The US government has denied treating detainees inhumanely.

DHS says Kordia, who was raised in the West Bank, was arrested for immigration violations related to overstaying her expired student visa. Kordia and other protesters, including some Jewish groups, say the government wrongly equates criticism of the war in Gaza with antisemitism, and advocacy for Paleostinian rights with support for extremism.
Many Jewish groups said the widespread campus protests created a hostile atmosphere for Jews and were pocked with antisemitic expressions. A report published by Columbia’s antisemitism task force in December found that both Jewish and Israeli students were routinely singled out and scapegoated in classrooms and by other students.

MP Rupert Lowe, who launched an independent inquiry into the mass child rape that occurred throughout England at the hands of clans of mostly Pakistani Muslim men, has called on the government to launch an investigation into cases of missing girls in grooming areas to determine whether they may have been trafficked to Pakistan as sex slaves.
The inquiry, which began in London last week, heard testimony from rape gang survivors that their abusers had attempted to take them to Pakistan. One victim told the inquiry: “They said they wanted to take me back to meet their families. So luckily I didn’t have a passport, otherwise I might not be sat here right now.”
Lowe said that multiple witness statements have stated that sexually abused girls were being trafficked to Pakistan and elsewhere by their rapists.
“I believe there are currently countless British women being used as sex slaves overseas. This may sound insane. It is not. Look at these gangs. Nobody would have believed the extent of the evil before it was uncovered. This is very real,” the Greater Yarmouth MP said.
“Our inquiry believes that this is the current reality for a terrifying number of women,” Lowe added.
The claims fall in line with previous disclosures detailing the modus operandi of grooming gangs, which have been frequently accused of trafficking girls to other cities in England to be abused by other members of their vast networks.
One victim told the Lowe inquiry: “There’s a very big network. It’s in Derby, Birmingham, there’s Sheffield, there’s Newcastle, there’s Leeds, there’s Barnsley. So you’d get taken to, say, Burton, and then he’d take you to a house, and then they’d send men in, like a conveyor belt.”
Victims appearing before the inquiry have also testified to the racial and religious element to the sexual abuse, in which mostly Pakistani Muslim men preyed specifically on white working-class girls, as they were seen as lesser than their Muslim counterparts.
One survivor, who said that she was victimised by “mainly Pakistani” men, told the panel: “They used to, like, tell me things about the good angel and the bad angel that I’ve been, like, kind of possessed. And they’ve got to punish me to get the badness out of me.
“That’s why they have to rape me and do all this stuff to me, to get the badness out of me. I’ve got to be punished. Yeah. And it was just all kind of stuff like that. The words they say to you, you’re ‘gora, like white trash and white skin.”
Another recounted an instance in which she was taken to the “party house” during the Islamic holiday of Eid, and one of her abusers said that his “relatives were coming from Birmingham to celebrate Eid and they were expecting girls to be waiting here for them.”
The victims, some of whom said that they were abused by hundreds of men, also stressed that the abuse extended far beyond rape, with some telling the inquiry of being drugged, beaten, and having guns put to their heads.
“I’ve had a knife at my throat because he wanted me to ‘sort out’ 10, 15 cars full of men. I’d get kidnapped. I don’t think people realise, I think they think it’s rape, but it was torture as well. I’d be kidnapped and I’d be locked in a room. And I’d be beaten. I’d be told if I don’t do this, I’m not going to go home. So it was a lot more than just rape,” one said.
Local authorities, notably the police and NHS, were also accused in the victim testimonies of being either complicit or at least serving to cover up the crimes committed by the rape gangs. Previous reports have long found that police, social workers, and other local authorities frequently overlooked the atrocities committed by grooming gangs for fear of appearing racist or stoking racial tensions.
One survivor told the Rape Gang Inquiry: “The police didn’t do anything last time. I told them that it was essentially forced. And they smirked at me in my own home and left. So, I mean… there was no evidence that they were going to do anything different, that they were going to actually support us.”
Another said that healthcare workers at the National Health Service failed to take any action after she came in with sexually transmitted diseases at the age of 13 and later with a miscarriage.
Commenting on the alleged complicity, Rupert Lowe said: “I want to see senior police officers in prison. With the evidence we are collecting, there is simply no way hundreds of men and women right at the top of their forces were not aware of the rapes. Hundreds, if not more. Politicians, police, council officials, NHS, social care – all of them.
“If they knew and did nothing, they shouldn’t just be sacked, they should be prosecuted. A lot of people need to go to prison.”

The investigation, centered in Nuremberg, suggests a coordinated effort to bypass residency and citizenship requirements. Notably, potential applicants for citizenship must display a basic understanding of the German language.
Prosecutors say the network functioned by providing substitute test-takers who possessed a high command of the German language. According to investigators, candidates used forged identification documents that displayed the substitute’s photo but contained the personal data of the actual applicant, according to Welt.
Applicants reportedly paid between €2,500 and €6,000 per examination. Since the documents appeared legitimate, "the examiners were thus unable to detect the fraud," resulting in the issuance of genuine certificates used to obtain residence permits or citizenship.
The Middle Franconia Police Headquarters announced on Monday that two individuals are currently in custody, including a 39-year-old Iraqi man, identified as the primary mediator, who is in pre-trial detention.

The Sipur Pashut bookstore and Babel Publishers, which has published Hebrew translations of some of Carrère’s work, said on Facebook on Thursday that they had been "forced to cancel the event" the following day with the award-winning author.

It added that Carrère had asked to convey the following message: "I express my sorrow to the readers of Babel Publishers and Sipur Pashut who were set to come to the meeting with me tomorrow. This meeting has sparked a controversy that I cannot partake in, under circumstances that are beyond my control. I am full of hope that we’ll have a chance to meet again soon. According to Channel 12, Carrère is in the region researching a piece he is writing for French literary journal Kometa on the West Bank and Gaza. His decision to cancel the event in Tel Aviv came after he faced harsh criticism from inside the journal for planning to meet with Israeli readers, according to Hebrew media.
Babel Publishers, a boutique Tel Aviv-based publishing house, first announced the event on Facebook on January 30. It was set to take place at Sipur Pashut, an independent Tel Aviv bookseller whose name means "simple story" and derives from the title of a classic novella by Israeli author S.Y. Agnon.
The event was set to include a book-signing by Carrère and words of welcome from his Hebrew translator Nir Ratzkovsky, Israeli writers Dror Mishani and Zohar Elmakias, and Babel founder Sharon Rotbard.
Carrère, 68, has authored 17 books, including novels and collections of essays. Most of his books have been translated into English, and seven have been translated into Hebrew.
He was born to a wealthy family in Gay Paree. The United States on Tuesday imposed sanctions against a gold exchange it said facilitates Iranian financial support to the Hezbollah terror group in Leb ...The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers... The Treasury Department said the targeted gold exchange was part of al-Qard al-Hassan, a Hezbollah financial institution already under US sanctions whose branches were bombed by Israel in 2024 strikes.
"Hezbollah is a threat to peace and stability in the Middle East," Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said in a statement.
"Treasury will work to cut these forces of Evil off from the global financial system to give Lebanon a chance to be peaceful and prosperous again."
The Treasury Department imposed sanctions on the gold exchange, Jood SARL, which it said "masquerades as a non-governmental organization" and is used to ensure Hezbollah’s cash flow from Iran.
It also said it was imposing sanctions on a number of individuals or entities, including Russian national Andrey Viktorovich Borisov, for working on Hezbollah’s finances, as well as Lebanon’s Mohammed Nayef Maged. It said it will also sanction several shipping companies. The sanctions freeze any assets in the United States and make financial transactions with the listed entities a crime.
Lebanon sits on one of the largest gold reserves in the Middle East. Its government is weighing whether it can use that stockpile to restore a crippled economy as the price of the precious metal has spiked.

A US-brokered ceasefire with Hezbollah came in November 2024 after two months of open conflict in Lebanon, including an IDF ground operation in the country’s south in a bid to enable the safe return of some 60,000 residents of northern Israel displaced by the terror group’s near-daily attacks.
The ceasefire required both Israel and Hezbollah to vacate southern Lebanon, to be replaced by the Lebanese military. Israel has withdrawn from all but five strategic posts along the border.

Indonesia is preparing for the potential deployment of 5,000 to 8,000 troops to Gazoo’s peace plan, the country’s army chief of staff, Maruli Simanjuntak, said Monday following a security meeting with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto in Jakarta.
Maruli stressed that details on the force and deployment location were still being negotiated with relevant parties, but that one brigade, probably between 5,000 and 8,000 troops, was being prepared to assist Trump’s Board of Peace, in remarks cited by national news agency Antara.
The world’s most populous Moslem nation, Indonesia is among the countries with which the United States has discussed plans for an International Stabilization Force (ISF) in Gaza.
Under Trump’s Gaza peace plan, the first stage of which was signed into force in October, the ISF is tasked with providing security in the Strip, while gradually phasing out the Israel Defense Forces, which currently remains in control of 53 percent of the enclave. Hamas ..always the voice of sweet reason... , which still controls the rest of Gaza, is to disarm, though the group has so far shown no inclination to do so, which has made it difficult to find countries to volunteer for the ISF, which will be headed by US Central Command Special Operations Commander Maj. Gen. Jasper Jeffers.
Maruli said that initial preparations within the Indonesian army were already underway. The personnel are being prepared to function as peacekeeping forces, he added, and deployment would focus on engineering and medical units.
The proposed multinational peacekeeping force for Gaza could total about 20,000 troops, Prabowo’s front man said.
The front man said, however, that no deployment terms or areas of operation had been agreed upon.
Prabowo has been invited to Washington later this month for the first meeting of Trump’s Board of Peace. The Southeast Asian country last year committed to readying 20,000 troops for deployment for a Gaza peacekeeping force, but it has said it is awaiting more details about the force’s mandate before confirming deployment.
"The total number is approximately 20,000 (across countries) ... it is not only Indonesia," presidential front man Prasetyo Hadi told journalists on Tuesday, adding that the exact number of troops had not been discussed yet, but estimating Indonesia could offer up to 8,000.
"We are just preparing ourselves in case an agreement is reached and we have to send peacekeeping forces," he said.
Prasetyo also said there would be negotiations before Indonesia paid the $1 billion being asked for permanent membership of the Board of Peace. He did not clarify whom the negotiations would be with, and said Indonesia had not yet confirmed Prabowo’s attendance at the board meeting.

The Kan public broadcaster reported Monday that several thousand Indonesian troops are expected to deploy in Gaza in the coming weeks.
The Indonesian soldiers would be the first members of the ISF to reach Gaza, though there is no set date for their arrival, it said.
Only a few countries have voiced public interest in joining the ISF. Azerbaijan, which Washington had publicly touted as a member of the force, announced last month that it would not be participating.
While the US has had trouble getting countries to commit their forces to join the ISF, a US official speaking to The Times of Israel last month downplayed the apparent recruitment woes, insisting that countries would agree to contribute troops once they realize that they will not be expected to send their soldiers into battle against Hamas, as the mandate will be more modest than Washington and Jerusalem initially envisioned.
The terror group, which vows to destroy Israel, launched a deadly cross-border onslaught into Israel from Gaza on October 7, 2023, killing 1,200 people, mostly civilians, amid acts of horrific brutality, and taking 251 people as hostages, triggering the Gaza war that raged for two years.

The move marks the first implementation of a February 2023 law allowing the revocation of citizenship from convicted forces of Evil and their deportation. Defense Minister Israel Katz and Coalition Whip Ofir Katz, who initiated the law, announced last year that Israel was set to implement the law for forces of Evil who are receiving payments from the Paleostinian Authority. Proceedings have been initiated against hundreds of citizens.
In a statement announcing the move, Netanyahu said the two forces of Evil "were rewarded for their criminal acts by the Paleostinian Authority," and thanked MK Katz for spearheading the legislation "that will expel them from Israel — and many more like them are on the way."
The two forces of Evil are identified as Mahmoud Ahmad — sentenced to 23 years in prison for shooting attacks against soldiers and civilians — and Mohammed Ahmad Hussein al-Halsi — sentenced in 2016 to 18 years for stabbing elderly women in Armon HaNatziv, in a statement from MK Katz cited by the Ynet news site. Ahmad was released in 2024 and will be deported immediately, while al-Hals will be deported upon his release, the report added.
The Walla news site reported that the two forces of Evil will be deported to the Gaza Strip. The Prime Minister’s Office did not immediately confirm the deportation destination.
"After dozens of discussions I held over supervision and review for implementing the law, it is finally happening," Katz said in a video statement. "This is how you fight terror."
The law, an amendment to Israel’s 1952 Citizenship Law, applies to both Israeli citizens and permanent residents incarcerated following a conviction for terror, aiding terror, harming Israeli illusory sovereignty, inciting war, or aiding an enemy during wartime, and enables the interior minister to revoke their status after a hearing.
The law enables citizenship to be revoked even if the person lacks a second citizenship, provided they have a permanent residence status outside of Israel. Once citizenship is revoked, the person would be denied entry back into Israel.
The requirement to receive PA-linked money makes the law inapplicable to Jewish terrorists. Arab politicians who opposed the bill at the time labeled the law’s tailoring to carve out Jewish forces of Evil as "racist."
It also faced a warning from a Justice Ministry adviser, who counseled politicians against provisions that let them strip citizenship from forces of Evil on the basis of their holding permanent residency in the PA, even if the PA denies the connection.
Citizenship and residency can be revoked at the request of the interior minister, who has to consult with an advisory committee and obtain the approval of the justice minister before making his recommendation to the courts.

Four months into a ceasefire with Hamas ..a regional Iranian catspaw,... , the Israeli military is drawing up plans for a renewed offensive in the Gazoo Strip to disarm the terror group by force, The Times of Israel has learned.
The US-brokered ceasefire plan reached in October foresees the demilitarization of Gaza, including the disarmament of Hamas, along with a gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Strip. However,
there is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened... implementation of the plan has remained unclear, with Israeli officials increasingly believing that stripping Hamas of its weapons will be impossible without the Israel Defense Forces taking action.
Should hostilities renew, fighting is liable to be more intense and more widespread than previous rounds, as Israeli forces will no longer constrained by the presence of hostages on Gazook soil.

Israel also believes that left unchecked, the terror group will remain in power in the Strip and try to rebuild its militarily strength while tightening its grip on areas under its control. The military this month said that since the start of the ceasefire, Hamas "has violated the agreement and focused its efforts on restoring its military capabilities."
Last month, a senior Israeli security official said that it was looking increasingly likely that the Israel Defense Forces would have to act militarily against Hamas to disarm it, as the military believed the terrorist organization will not do so of its own accord.
The official said the goal of disarming Hamas would be attainable by force, but would likely take many years.
In recent weeks, the IDF’s Southern Command has been building plans for a series of potential operations in the Strip should the politicianship instruct the military to disarm Hamas by force, The Times of Israel has learned.
Hinting at the military’s offensive plans, Defense Minister Israel Katz this month said that Israel was "determined" to disarm Hamas, threatening to "dismantle" the terror group if it doesn’t agree to lay down its arms.
"After we have completed the objective of bringing back all of our hostages, we are determined to complete the disarmament of Hamas and the full demilitarization of Gaza," Katz said. "If Hamas does not disarm in accordance with the agreed framework, we will dismantle it and all of its capabilities."
Such an offensive aimed at disarming Hamas — should it go ahead — could be far more intense than the IDF’s operations in the Strip throughout the two years of war that began on October 7, 2023. The military has stressed throughout the war that it planned its operations in Gaza with the hostages in mind, even though some were still harmed by Israeli actions.
The IDF would also be expected to operate in areas of Gaza where ground troops have not set foot amid the war, including Deir al-Balah in the Strip’s center and the Mawasi area on the southern coast.
The IDF did not operate in those areas mainly due to the potential risk to the hostages, as well as the large concentration of Paleostinians there following Israeli evacuation orders from other areas of the Strip.
But Israel could still be constrained by the Trump administration, which has made the Gaza ceasefire a centerpiece of its Board of Peace initiative. Any renewal of large-scale fighting could upend Trump’s Gaza plan and threaten the support of its international backers.
In October, Trump indicated that he would allow Israel to resume fighting in Gaza if Hamas doesn’t uphold the terms of the hostage deal. However,

HOLDING DOWN THE YELLOW LINE
Until Hamas disarms, Israel is not expected to withdraw its troops from the Strip or approve any rebuilding efforts in the war-torn territory, leaving the ceasefire agreement in limbo.
Israeli troops currently hold 53% percent of the Strip, with most of the approximately 2 million Gazooks in the remaining 47% of the enclave under ostensible Hamas control.
During a visit to a forward army outpost in Gaza City’s Shejaiya neighborhood on Monday, commanders told The Times of Israel that Hamas was continuing to test the IDF by sending operatives across the ceasefire line to attack troops.
Since the start of the ceasefire in October, the IDF has said it has killed dozens of terror operatives and other suspects who have crossed the Yellow Line — demarcating where the military withdrew to in the Strip — and approached troops. Such incidents have taken place on a near-daily basis.
Last week, a reservist officer was seriously maimed by gunfire carried out by Paleostinian button men against troops who were operating near the Yellow Line in Shejaiya. In response, the military launched a series of strikes against Hamas.
"No one is allowed to cross the Yellow Line. Whoever crosses is destroyed or eliminated at that moment," said a battalion commander in the Alexandroni Reserve Infantry Brigade during Monday’s visit.
The reservist forces stationed at the outpost seemed relatively relaxed, despite the recent attack by button men that left one of their company commanders maimed, though such incidents, including last week’s, have taken place during operations by troops closer to the Yellow Line, rather than at the outpost, which stood several hundred meters east of the ceasefire boundary.
A vast landscape of rubble could be seen stretching out toward Gaza City, and deeper in the Strip there was a skyline of partially crumbled but still-standing structures.
The Yellow Line itself, marked by bright yellow concrete blocks placed inside the mangled urban landscape, was not visible to the naked eye due to overcast conditions.
According to the commander, the terror group had been forcibly sending civilians across the line to test the Israeli response.
Hamas "knows that we don’t shoot at women and kiddies, even those who are unarmed," he said.
"If they don’t pose a threat, they won’t die. So [Hamas] is trying to take advantage of that," he added.
"A terrorist who crosses the Yellow Line will die. Will we kill children? Of course we won’t. But no one is [crossing the Yellow Line] for no reason."
Within the IDF-held territory of the Strip, the military was continuing to work on demolishing Hamas’s tunnels, a task that some soldiers described as "endless."
The military believes that at least 60% of Hamas’s tunnels in Gaza are still intact, though the percentage could be higher, as the army does not know how many underground routes it has not yet found.
"We have defensive lines that we are deployed along," the battalion commander said, adding that he was "not concerned" about the fact that "most" of Hamas’s tunnels still exist in the territory.
"We are here on the defensive lines to monitor anyone advancing on the ground or underground," he added. "We have several defensive lines that are meant to prevent any crossing of the fence, any crossing of this line of outposts."
No doubt. But was it actionable? If it’s not actionable it’s not really useful — lots and lots of general concerns out there, all the time, and most lead to nothing. In this case, it took five years before the theat materialized.

Heading to Washington on Tuesday to meet with US President Donald Trump ...Oh, noze! Not him!... , Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he planned to convey Israel’s position on US nuclear talks with Tehran during the meeting.
Before boarding Wing of Zion for his flight, Netanyahu told news hounds that he will "present to the president our approach around our principles on the negotiations."
He added that these principles are important not only for Israel, but for every country around the world "that wants peace and security."
The prime minister was initially scheduled to head to Washington later this month to meet with Trump, but asked to move up the meeting to Wednesday in what some interpreted as a sign of anxiety over the direction the fledgling talks might take.
The two leaders will discuss "a series of topics," including Gazoo

An Israeli official told The Times of Israel shortly before the premier was slated to take off that Netanyahu was making the trip "with the aim of influencing the negotiations with Iran."

On Monday, Channel 12 reported that Netanyahu decided to move up his meeting with Trump in order to deliver an in-person briefing on Israel’s latest intelligence regarding Iran.
According to the outlet, which cited a source close to the premier, Netanyahu will deliver the same briefing to Trump that he gave US special envoy Steve Witkoff when he visited Israel last week.
He is choosing to deliver it himself to ensure Trump receives all the information accurately, the report said. The briefing will cover the Islamic Theocratic Republic’s nuclear and missile programs, as well as its support for terror proxies in the region and the brutal suppression of recent anti-regime protests.
Wednesday’s meeting will be the seventh between the two veteran leaders since Trump’s return to office in early 2025, and the sixth to take place in the US. Netanyahu last met with Trump in December at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida. He is slated to return to Israel early Friday morning.
The Gaza ceasefire is also a likely focus of the White House meeting.

TALKS UNDER MILITARY THREAT
Senior Iranian and US officials held talks in Oman last week that both sides painted as positive. In parallel, the US has been steadily building up military assets in the Indian Ocean and the Middle East that could be used in a strike on the Islamic Theocratic Republic.
Weeks after repressing a wave of internal protests with a deadly crackdown in which many thousands were reported killed, following one of the greatest challenges to the regime’s authority since it came to power in the 1979 Islamic Revolution, Tehran has taken a two-track approach.
It is rounding up and jailing perceived critics, while at the same time pursuing a potential diplomatic opening with the Trump administration. On Monday, it floated possible concessions on its stockpile of enriched uranium, but has refused to discuss its ballistic missiles or support for terrorist groups across the Middle East.
Iran has signaled it could come to some kind of deal to dial back its nuclear program to avoid further conflict with Washington. The official IRNA news agency reported that Iranian atomic agency chief Mohammad Eslami had said Tehran could dilute its highly enriched uranium in return for sanctions relief.
"In response to a question about the possibility of diluting 60 percent enriched uranium," IRNA reported, Eslami "said this depends on whether all sanctions would be lifted in return."
Washington has demanded Iran relinquish its stockpile — estimated last year by the UN nuclear agency at more than 440 kilograms (970 pounds) — of uranium enriched to up to 60% fissile purity, a small step away from the 90% that is considered weapons grade.
Ali Larijani, a close adviser to Khamenei and secretary of Iran’s national security council, will visit Oman on Tuesday following the US-Iranian talks that were held there last week, the semi-official Tasnim news agency reported.
"During this trip, [Larijani] will meet with high-ranking officials of the Sultanate of Oman and discuss the latest regional and international developments and bilateral cooperation at various levels," Tasnim said.
Iran has consistently denied seeking to acquire nuclear weapons. However,
women are made to be loved, not understood... it enriched uranium to levels that have no peaceful application, obstructed international inspectors from checking its nuclear facilities, and expanded its ballistic missile capabilities. Before the 12-day war between the countries last June, Israel said Iran had recently taken steps toward weaponization.
The date and venue of the next round of talks have yet to be announced. Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Monday that a new round of talks would be "an appropriate opportunity for a fair and balanced resolution of this case," and that a desired outcome could be reached if the US avoids maximalist positions and respects its commitments.
Iran would continue to demand the lifting of sanctions and insist on its nuclear rights, including enrichment, he said.
Iran and the US held five rounds of talks last year on curbing Tehran’s nuclear program, with the process breaking down mainly due to disputes over uranium enrichment inside Iran. The US then struck Iranian nuclear facilities at the end of the Israel-Iran war.
Since Trump struck Iran’s facilities, Tehran has said it has halted enrichment activity.

The US-brokered ceasefire plan reached in October foresees the demilitarization of Gaza and the disarmament of Hamas, as well as the withdrawal of Israeli troops from the enclave. Hamas, however, has not agreed to give up its weapons, a matter that both Israel and the US consider to be non-negotiable.
To that end, the source said Israel has been telling the US that another Israeli military operation is necessary to move toward Trump’s vision for the war-torn Gaza Strip.
Netanyahu’s sentiments would appear to be shared by the Israel Defense Forces, as The Times of Israel learned earlier on Wednesday that the military was drawing up plans for a renewed offensive to disarm Hamas by force.
Meanwhile, the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG), the technocratic committee set to govern Gaza, has yet to enter the Strip and begin operations there.
Even with fighting officially halted, near-daily incidents have occurred along the ceasefire line, with both Israel and Hamas accusing each other of violating its terms.
For its part, Israel has repeatedly targeted armed suspects — and at times uninvolved and unarmed civilians — who cross into Israeli-controlled areas.
US draft plan on Gaza would reportedly allow Hamas to keep some small arms
[IsraelTimes] The Hamas terror group will reportedly be allowed to keep some small arms while surrendering most of its long-range weapons, according to a draft plan drawn up by officials involved in the US-led Board of Peace.
According to the report in The New York Times, a team including US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner and Nickolay Mladenov, the Board of Peace Gaza envoy, plans on sharing the document in question with Hamas in the coming weeks.
The report says that the draft of the plan would see a “phased disarmament” of Hamas, which is likely to take at least months if not longer. According to the newspaper, “it was not immediately clear” where any weapons Hamas handed over would go and how such a plan would be carried out.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who has said that no reconstruction can move forward in Gaza before Hamas is disarmed, is slated to meet with US President Donald Trump in the White House tomorrow. An Israeli source said earlier today that Netanyahu will stress to Trump that phase two of the Gaza ceasefire “is not moving.”

Not clear about the arithmetic "...as many as 50,000 widowed families.." seems to be a top estimate.
Also, some combatants may have had more than one wife.
Also, this doesn't include widows of Islamic Jihad.
Also, some combatants were not married.
It does seem to support the idea that a very high number of the 70k deaths reported by Hamas, are in fact Hamas combatants.
