[Breitbart] A San Antonio woman who helped run a multimillion‑dollar human‑smuggling ring moving illegal aliens from Eagle Pass to the Alamo City was sentenced to 132 months in federal prison. The sentencing follows her conviction for the death of a smuggled illegal alien who died in a packed trailer and was dumped in a ditch near her property, the Justice Department announced.
Federal prosecutors say 36‑year‑old Erica Aracely Carmona helped coordinate a smuggling pipeline that moved more than 500 illegal aliens and generated over $4.7 million in revenue during the Biden-era border crisis. The Texas woman bought a Von Ormy, Texas, property with smuggling profits and used custom trailers and hidden compartments to move illegal aliens.
“The loss of life in this case is a stark reminder that human smuggling is not just a crime—it is a deadly threat to our communities and those seeking a better future,” said Acting Special Agent in Charge John A. Pasciucco, HSI San Antonio. “Carmona’s sentencing demonstrates that HSI and our partners will relentlessly pursue and dismantle criminal organizations that prioritize profit over human life.”
Prosecutors said Carmona was a member of an Alien Smuggling Organization (ASO) that was responsible for the smuggling of more than 500 illegal aliens in the first year of the Biden Border Crisis, January 2021 to July 2022. During that period, they ASO generated more than $4.7 million in illicit proceeds from the smuggling of humans, frequently under inhumane conditions.
“Throughout their operation, the ASO used custom-made ‘tow-behind’ trailers to transport illegal aliens,” DOJ officials reported. “The ASO had begun to use an 18-wheeler with a false compartment inside the tractor-trailer that held up to 40 aliens, but that trailer was interdicted by federal law enforcement on the first smuggling attempt.”
An illustration of the cruelty of their smuggling operation came to light with the discovery of the body of an illegal alien who died on May 30, 2021. A few days earlier, a driver towing a trailer with a hidden compartment transported a load of human cargo from Eagle Pass, Texas, to San Antonio. When the driver arrived, they discovered the alien near death in the trailer compartment. He died about an hour later, prosecutors stated, and the smugglers dumped his lifeless body into a ditch located a few miles from the property owned by Carmona that was used for their human smuggling operation.
“Alien smuggling organizations and Mexican cartels will always value profit over human lives, and illegal aliens are routinely placed in extremely dangerous situations during their journey, often resulting in death,” said U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Texas, Justin R. Simmons. “In San Antonio, we’ve seen firsthand how dangerous it can be to transport humans in trailers of any kind, especially tractor-trailers. While we mourn the life lost in this case, the amazing work done by federal law enforcement to shut down this criminal organization and their continued use of a tractor-trailer no doubt saved lives in the long run.”
Law enforcement arrested Carmona on August 23, 2022, and she pleaded guilty on December 9, 2022.
This week, the judge in Del Rio, Texas, sentenced Carmona to 231 months in federal prison and assessed a money judgment of $955,350 on the charge of conspiracy to transport illegal aliens resulting in death.
“On May 1, 2025, co-defendant Miguel Angel Rivera was sentenced to 216 months with credit for time served,” the DOJ added. “Additional co-defendants Pedro Luis Martinez-Jaquez and Jose Eduardo Rodriguez Moreno are scheduled to be sentenced in March. Chief U.S. District Judge Alia Moses presides over the case.”

[Breitbart] Chaos erupted in Turin on Saturday evening, with over 100 police officers injured and fires being set in the centre of the Italian city amid a protest against the closure of a far-left activist hub.
Nationwide demonstrations were held on Saturday in response to the eviction of leftists from the so-called “Askatasuna social centre” in December after the building had been occupied by radicals for nearly 30 years and had served as a base of operations for far-left activism in the city.
The local municipal government had long allowed the group to occupy the city-owned building; however, the agreement was terminated after activists allegedly tied to Askatasuna stormed and ransacked the offices of the liberal newspaper La Stampa in November for apparently being too pro-Israel in its coverage of the war in Gaza.
On Saturday, organisers claimed that 50,000 people took to the streets of Turin in solidarity with the shuttered Askatasuna centre. While the initial demonstration was largely peaceful, violence broke out as the evening wore on.
Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini called for the government to introduce fresh legislation to protect police and to introduce the obligation of bail for the release of anyone involved in rioting, saying: “Demonstrating is legitimate, smashing up cities and beating up police officers is not!”
Minister for Public Administration Paolo Zangrillo said: “Today I’m very angry because, unfortunately, we can’t even say that the limit has been crossed. “Martyrdom is a commitment, a principle. It gives life to the movement and carries it forward,” one of the speakers said, according to the Jewish groups. “Our task is to identify tangible, precise ways to attack the genocidal Zionist enemy and actually fucking attack.”
“This was not a metaphor or abstract political speech. It was explicit incitement for violence. Such language and imagery are dangerous, antisemitic and unacceptable,” the statement says. “This type of activity directly endangers the Jewish community and undermines the safety of all Philadelphians, creating a climate of fear in our city.”

Affiliation confirmed. Then what? If any real leadership still exists in the Minneapolis Police Department, it needs to step up. Tell the mayor, governor, and city council to fuck all the way off. Hit the streets and clear them of these degenerate clowns. Water cannons in St. Paul would be nice. Maybe federalize some of the "Old Guard" mounted units as well. The longer this is tolerated, the more emboldened they'll become. Things escalate from there.

In a statement, the so-called Deterrent Force of Hamas’s internal security apparatus says it also confiscated military gear from the gang in Gaza City. In Khan Younis, some gang members fled, leaving behind their "Zionist weapons," the Hamas force claims.
Hamas’s Sahm 103 unit, which targets people accused of collaborating with Israel, says the people targeted in the earlier ambush, in Khan Younis, were assaulted in the Batn al-Samin area, which lies on the Hamas-controlled side of the Gaza ceasefire line in the city’s southwest.
The Sahm unit claims the people targeted in Batn al-Samin were en route to perform a "kidnapping operation" on behalf of Israel. According to the unit, the gang members came in two vehicles, one of which managed to escape the ambush.
Neither Hamas statement specifies which gangs were targeted. However,
nothing needs reforming like other people's bad habits... Hossam al-Astal, who leads a Khan Younis-area anti-Hamas gang and has claimed to receive military aid from Israel, says in an evening video statement that his militia captured six Hamas operatives and killed several others in Batn al-Samin earlier today. He does not say anything about being ambushed by Hamas.
According to the IDF, several operatives crossed the Yellow Line and approached troops of the 7th Armored Brigade “in a manner that posed an immediate threat.”
“Immediately after the identification, the troops fired toward the terrorists in order to remove the threat. One of the terrorists was eliminated,” the army says.
Palestinian media reported earlier today that a 63-year-old man was killed this morning in an IDF drone strike on the Israeli-controlled side of the ceasefire line in the Shakoush area, northwest of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip. He was identified as Khaled Dehleez. It could not immediately be confirmed that this was the same incident referred to by the military.
According to the IDF, the tunnel featured three rooms for terror operatives to reside in.
Inside, the army says troops found dozens of weapons, including 45 grenades, Kalashnikov rifles, RPGs and launchers, explosive devices, and other military equipment.
The tunnel was located on the Israeli side of the Gaza ceasefire line during mop-up operations of the 188th Armored Brigade. It was then razed by the elite Yahalom combat engineering unit.

“It Was Just an Accident” is nominated for best screenplay and best international film at the March 15 Oscars. The film, made covertly in Iran, was France’s nominee for best international film.
[Rudaw] Kobane, a Kurdish city in northern Syria, is facing what aid groups warn could become a full-scale humanitarian catastrophe, as a tightening siege by Damascus forces and allied gangs has cut off food, water, medicine, and communications.
The siege has already claimed the lives of six children last month and displaced tens of thousands across Kurdish cities in northeast Syria (Rojava). Electricity and internet services have been down for weeks, isolating Kobane and plunging families inside the city - as well as those who have fled - into fear and uncertainty.
Displaced Kurds in Qamishli, the lovely provincial capital of Rojava’s eastern Hasaka province, say they are enduring sleepless nights, unable to reach loved ones trapped inside the besieged city amid a deepening humanitarian crisis.
"My sister Maryam, her husband, and her daughters and children have remained there," Fatima Hussein, a displaced woman in Qamishli, told Rudaw on Sunday. "We have had no news until now; we don’t know what their situation is like," she said.
Hussein added that her relatives "have no internet, no electricity, and no food or water. There is a lot of fear; there is so much fear where they are."
She further noted that her relatives told her "they were a little afraid, but we say we will resist. We want all of us to be together. Let our people be, let everyone rise up together. Either we will all rise together, or we will all die together."
Kobane has not only been deprived of basic necessities but is also under a strict internet blockade, leaving hundreds of parents without information about the whereabouts or condition of their children.
"My son is about 22 years old, and my daughter is 23 years old. Their names are Hozan and Delal," Mohammed Meko, another displaced resident, told Rudaw. "Now, as for us, we are all [worried] about them; our thoughts are always with them. They are left with no money. Their situation is very difficult there."
The siege follows a large-scale offensive launched by Damascus and allied gangs in mid-January against the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). The campaign targeted areas in eastern Aleppo, Deir ez-Zor, Raqqa, and Hasaka that had remained under Kurdish control for nearly a decade.
The now retaken areas had been liberated by the SDF from the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. The SDF announced on Friday that it had reached an agreement with the interim government in Damascus on the future of Rojava and the integration of its civilian and military institutions into the state.
Following the agreement, the Syrian army halted its assaults on Kurdish areas, though families who have lost loved ones say their suffering continues.

Syria said on Sunday that it had detained a group behind recent rocket attacks on the Mezzeh military airport in Damascus, with Sherlocks tracing the weapons to Hezbollah, the Lebanese terror group backed by Iran.
The Syrian Interior Ministry said security units arrested all members of the group, which it said had carried out several strikes on the airport in recent months, after surveillance of suspected launch sites in several areas of the capital.
The weapons used in the attacks originated from Hezbollah, an ally of former Syrian President Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad Light of the Alawites... that once had a large military presence across Syria supporting Assad’s army during the country’s civil war, the ministry said.
Hezbollah denied the allegations. No, no! Certainly not! and said it had no activity or ties with any group inside Syria.
Authorities said they also seized a number of drones the group was preparing to use in further operations.
The ministry said only that the detainees had links to unidentified "foreign entities," without mentioning Hezbollah or Iran.
Rooters reported in November that Washington was planning to establish a military presence at an airbase in Damascus to help enable a security pact that Washington is brokering between Syria and Israel. The Syrian government denied the report.
Security sources say Hezbollah left behind weapons stockpiles, including drones, in parts of Syria after withdrawing its forces following the collapse of Assad’s rule in December 2024.
After Assad’s fall, Israel stationed troops in southwestern Syria, in a buffer zone between the two countries, in a move meant to repel hostile actors amid the power vacuum surrounding the fall of the Assad regime. On Friday, Israel Defense Forces troops in Syria came under fire, the military said, in the first such incident since Israeli troops deployed to the area. There were no Israeli injuries.

An Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... in the southern Lebanese town of Doueir on Sunday afternoon killed a Hezbollah engineering commander, the Israel Defense Forces said.
The strike killed Ali Dawoud Amees, whom the military identified as a "division head in Hezbollah’s engineering department."
"The terrorist was involved in efforts to rehabilitate military infrastructure of the Hezbollah terror organization in the Doueir area in southern Leb ...The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers... and advanced terror plans against IDF troops," the military said in a statement, adding that his actions "constituted a violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon."
The strike was one of a few by the IDF in Lebanon on Sunday. The military has maintained a troop presence in Lebanon since a November 2024 ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah, and regularly targets Hezbollah efforts to rearm or rebuild.
Lebanon’s health ministry said one person was killed and six others maimed, including two children aged under 18, in an Israeli strike in Ebba, near Doueir, apparently referring to the IDF strike on the terror group operative.
The state-run National News Agency (NNA) said the strike targeted a vehicle whose driver was killed, reporting that a boy was among the maimed when his family’s car passed at the time of the raid and crashed.
The IDF also said on Sunday that it carried out an airstrike targeting a Hezbollah operative in the southern Lebanon town of Harouf, but did not provide further details.
And the military said that in the morning, it struck heavy machinery being used by Hezbollah in southern Lebanon. The engineering vehicles were targeted in the village of Mazraat Aboudiyeh, south of Sidon.
"The vehicles were struck while being used by Hezbollah Lions of Islam to reestablish terror infrastructure sites in the area," the military said.
The Lebanese health ministry, meanwhile, said a strike on Qanarit in the Sidon district maimed one person. State-run media said the strike targeted a bulldozer "while it was working to remove rubble" from the site of a previous Israeli attack.
In addition, the IDF said on Sunday that troops of the 769th "Hiram" Regional Brigade operated in several Lebanese border villages, and destroyed an anti-tank missile storage facility, a weapons depot, a building used by Hezbollah to launch anti-tank missiles at Israel during the war, and other infrastructure.

Also Sunday, the NNA said the Israeli military dropped flyers aiming to intimidate residents in south Lebanon’s Bint Jbeil near the border. It published a photograph of one of the alleged leaflets, which bore a warning to residents that Hezbollah operatives were using a hospital in the town. Bint Jbeil’s Salah Ghandour hospital is run by the Hezbollah-affiliated Islamic Health Committee.
The Lebanese health ministry in a statement condemned "in the strongest terms the threats against southern hospitals, and considers them a serious attack and a flagrant violation of international laws and conventions."
