President Donald Trump has filed a lawsuit against JPMorgan Chase and its CEO Jamie Dimon, claiming the banking giant debanked him for political reasons.
The lawsuit was filed Thursday morning in a Miami state court by his attorney, Alejandro Brito, on behalf of Trump and several of his hospitality companies.
The complaint cites JPMorgan's code of conduct, which reads: "We set high expectations and hold ourselves accountable. We do the right thing—not necessarily the easy or expedient thing. We abide by the letter and spirit of the laws and regulations everywhere we do business and have zero tolerance for unethical behavior."
According to Brito, "Despite claiming to hold these principles dear, JPMC violated them by unilaterally—and without warning or remedy—terminating several of Plaintiff’s bank accounts."
Trump and his companies have "transacted hundreds of millions of dollars" through the bank, the lawsuit reads, adding that Feb. 19, 2021 was the day that "forever altered the dynamic of the parties’ relationship," when the bank allegedly "without warning or provocation," notified Trump and his companies that several of their bank accounts or were beneficiaries of, "would be closed just two months later, on April 19, 2021."
"JPMC did not provide plaintiffs with any recourse, remedy, or alternative—its decision was final and unequivocal," reads the suit.
As the Epoch Times noted over the weekend, in August 2025, Trump issued an executive order to ensure that banks cannot refuse services to individuals based on their political or religious beliefs, a practice known as “debanking.” A watchdog in December found that nine large U.S. banks actively engaged in the practice between 2020 and 2025.
“To date, the [Office of the Comptroller of the Currency] has observed that between 2020 and 2023, the banks maintained public and nonpublic policies restricting certain industry sectors’ access to banking services,” the report reads. “Many industry sectors were restricted based primarily on how it might appear to the public if the bank provided access to financial services to these sectors.”

EC is right with regard to the right of free association within the 1st Amendment. One of my roommates in high school was Jewish and let me know that there were still clubs in Palm Beach that would not let his dad join. It blew my mind. The golf club where the Masters doesn’t take women members. They eventually will, to my understanding. They say it’s about rights. Could be. The issue becomes when these companies take public funds and bailouts. Why would I contribute to bailing out JP Morgan if they can de bank me and ruin my life?

To JPM’s defense. Federally regulated banks must comply to the OFAC bad guy list. If Trumps name was put on the OFAC bad guy list then JPM must comply with the regulation. That also includes not divulging who is on the list. Trump should be suing Biden Admin for putting political opponents on the list as if they were terrorists.

If they follow a political hitlist (from Holder, Biden, whomever) without divulging or objecting, then they should begin putting a lot of money in risk mgmt funds for big payouts. You wanna be FDIC insured or not have your name and rep dragged thru the Discovery and litigation mud?

Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes wildly suggested that residents can open fire on masked ICE agents if they feel their life is in danger under the state’s self-defense laws.
The Democrat, in a sit-down with 12 News anchor Brahm Resnik, warned that Arizona’s "Stand Your Ground" law, which allows citizens to use deadly force if they believe they’re in imminent danger, could become a "recipe for disaster" if protesters clash with immigration officers.
"It’s kind of a recipe for disaster because you have these masked federal officers with very little identification, sometimes no identification, wearing plain clothes and masks," Mayes said in the Monday interview, calling ICE "very poorly trained."
"And we have a Stand Your Ground law that says that if you reasonably believe that your life is in danger and you’re in your house or your car or on your property, that you can defend yourself with lethal force."
A flabbergasted Resnik repeatedly challenged Mayes, cautioning that her remarks could be interpreted as a "license" to residents to shoot a federal agent
She retorted that she was merely stating a "fact," not encouraging violence.
"If you’re being attacked by someone who is not identified as a peace officer — how do you know?" the state’s top prosecutor pressed, adding that "real cops don’t wear masks."
"I mean if somebody comes at me wearing a mask, by the way, I’m a gun owner, and I can’t tell whether they’re a police officer, what am I supposed to do? No, I’m not suggesting people pull out their guns, but this is a ’Don’t Tread On Me’ state."
The attorney general, who was elected in 2022, unleashed her jaw-dropping comments as immigration officers begin to spread into parts of the Grand Canyon State.

Investments in Israeli government bonds have emerged as a significant fault line between New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and the city’s comptroller, Mark Levine.
Levine and Mamdani have long held opposing positions on the bond investments, but the potential dispute came into focus this week, as each took opposite sides on the issue in public statements, just a few weeks into their terms.
Mamdani is a far-left anti-Zionist, and Levine is a Jewish centrist who often greets crowds in Hebrew at Jewish community events. As comptroller, he serves as the city’s financial watchdog. The position is seen as the second-highest role in the city government.
Levine said last week that he intends to resume the city pension funds’ investment in the bonds. His predecessor, Brad Lander, had decided against reinvesting in the bonds after they reached maturity.
"Israeli bonds had been part of the portfolio for decades," Levine told The City in an interview last week. The city had held Israel bonds since the 1970s.
Levine has also backed investing in the bonds in other recent statements, defending the bonds as a solid investment that the city has profited from for decades. Mamdani: "We're Commies. We don't need no steenking profits!"
Mamdani, a longtime supporter of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement targeting Israel, came out in opposition to Levine during a Wednesday presser.
"I don’t think we should purchase Israel bonds," Mamdani said. "We don’t purchase bonds for any other sovereign nation’s debt and the comptroller has also made his position clear and I continue to stand by mine."
Mamdani and Levine have signaled a willingness to work together, are aligned on other issues, and Levine endorsed Mamdani’s campaign during the primary, but the Israel bonds issue could put the two on a collision course. Mamdani and Levine both took office on January 1.
The comptroller serves as the city’s chief financial officer, conducting audits of city agencies, handling the city’s pension funds, reviewing contracts, and providing budgetary oversight. The comptroller heads a staff of around 800 employees. The powerful role can serve as a counterweight to the mayor. A Fiduciary? How quaint!
Most Israel bonds have a return of about five percent, with some yielding a higher return than similar US Treasury bonds.
The dispute between Levine and Mamdani is an inversion of tensions over the bonds during the previous administration, when the comptroller opposed investing in the bonds, and the mayor was in favor.
When the previous comptroller, Lander, decided against reinvesting in the bonds after they matured, former mayor Eric Adams ...Hizonner da Mare of Noo Yawk. As a Manchurian candidate, Hizonner was all in favor of law and order and that kind of stuff. Once in office, a bunch of his friends found cushy jobs with the city, the windows kept getting broken, and Soros-funded DA Alvin Bragg remained right where he was. Most people comfort themselves with the thought that he's not Bill di Blasio but that's pretty small comfort with kids who actually go to school getting bumped off while standing in front of them. But he's a Dem, so the rubes will vote for him next election too, so he's what they deserve... had a public feud with his comptroller, whom he accused of targeting Israel. Lander denied the charge, saying the decision was not political but in line with the city’s investment policies.
To refute the charge that he was boycotting Israel, Lander noted the city held other Israeli assets worth more than $300 million and said it did not invest in bonds from other countries.
Lander is Jewish, but to the left of Adams, who is an outspoken supporter of Israel.
Lander said the city held more than $39 million in Israel bonds when he took office in January 2022. The bonds matured the following year.
The city’s pension funds held more than $294 billion in assets as of June, meaning the bonds were a minuscule proportion of the funds’ holdings.
Adams and Lander had an adversarial relationship throughout their time in office.
The city’s five pension funds are governed by boards of trustees that make investment decisions. Those boards vary in size, but typically consist of the comptroller, a mayoral appointee and a number of labor representatives.
The mayor does not have direct oversight of the funds’ investment decisions, but on boards where the mayor has more influence over the makeup of the trustees, he could sway decisions with the help of his appointees.
Levine has dismissed the possibility that the mayor could overrule his decisions on the bonds, telling JTA in September that the mayor "just doesn’t have the votes for that."
"There’s no real track record of the mayor driving significant investment decisions in our pension funds," he said.
Anti-Zionist activist groups have protested against Levine’s intention to reinvest in the bonds.
On his first day in office, Mamdani revoked an executive order by Adams that barred city agencies from boycotting Israel, part of a broader revocation of the previous administration’s orders. New York City law bars city agencies from discrimination based on national origin, however.
Levine is a well-known figure in New York City politics and the Jewish community, and served as the Manhattan borough president before becoming comptroller.
He has inherited an expected $12.6 billion budget gap this year and next year from the previous administration that City Hall will need to navigate as Mamdani attempts to implement his ambitious reforms, such as free buses and child care.

I have watch enough LivePD to see the use for law enforcement. It is not the worst idea put forward. I am very doubtful that this can be done in a way that is not hackable. I am a no because I understand that through penumbras the HOA lady will eventually be disabling my vehicle until I trim my hedges. Also California will mandate that owners of older vehicles install the switches at their cost. Other states will follow suit until I have to plot jacked up courses across the US to avoid blue states.
