[The Daily Signal] This past year, the Left crossed a Rubicon in normalizing political violence.
The year opened with many on the Left praising a man who allegedly murdered a health care CEO, and it ended with Virginia Democrats overwhelmingly voting for a man who fantasized about shooting his political opponent and wished death on his opponent’s children.
Jay Jones, now Virginia’s attorney general-elect, made the most bloodcurdling endorsement of political violence I have ever seen from an elected official, and he justified it with this sentence: "Only when people feel pain personally do they move on policy."
Jones apologized for the remarks, but he remained in the race, and he even shared a stage with none other than former President Barack Obama. I had hoped my fellow Virginians would reject this message in November, but Jones won the election—setting a horrifying precedent for American politics.
Jones’ election victory highlights the negative partisanship in America, and it comes at the end of a truly horrifying year of left-wing violence. Here are 10 incidents of threats or violence aligning with the Left’s attacks on Trump and his party.
1. Targeting ’Nazi’ Pete Hegseth
On Jan. 28, Capitol Police arrested Riley Jane English, 24, after she told officers she was carrying a folding knife and two Molotov cocktails. English traveled to Washington, D.C., intending to kill War Secretary Pete Hegseth, whom she referred to as a "Nazi," or House Speaker Mike Johnson, according to a police affidavit. She also reportedly mentioned wanting to burn down The Heritage Foundation.
This attack followed media reports claiming that Hegseth had a tattoo "associated with white supremacist groups," when the tattoo merely features the Jerusalem Cross. It also followed a year of false claims about Project 2025, a policy project The Heritage Foundation led.

[Breitbart] At least eight people were shot, one of them fatally, on Christmas night in Democrat-run Chicago, Illinois.
ABC 7 reported that a man who had been shot and fatally wounded was discovered shortly after 10 p.m. "in the Park Manor neighborhood."
The man had been shot twice and later died after being transported to a hospital. WGN-TV noted that the deceased man was believed "to be between 30 and 35 years of age."
Among non-fatal shootings, at 11 p.m., a man "in the 300-block of W. Marquette Road" was shot following an argument and left in critical condition.

"This blooper is one for the books!" U.S. Border Patrol official Gregory K. Bovino said in a Facebook post.
A female Honduran national allegedly ran a red light in Slidell, Louisiana and plowed into an ICE vehicle that was in the area as part of the agency’s Operation Catahoula Crunch.
The Department of Homeland Security deployed ICE agents as part of the operation to New Orleans to round up "criminal illegal aliens," the department said in a press release.
The DHS claims that they've arrested as many as 370 people as part of the operation, according to local outlet WVUE.

I watched tons of "mountain climbing disaster" videos on Youtube until I got tired of them.
Always the same story every time: a 100 year storm, extremely poor judgement or a boulder or snowslide crushes them. They're always far too high for any rescue.
They hugged each other for warmth because it's cold in there.

It seems reasonable to assume that fresh snow on a mountain might cause avalanche conditions, or that on mountains or any remote area the weather can rapidly change for the worse, but people don’t seem to think of such things.

A lot of that same virus at the State levels as well. In Georgia, the constant round (and I mean constant) of local elections for deputy dog catcher and park administrative assistants is nearly endless.

even worse is that there are many, many appointees who work for park commissions, special district supervisors, etc. who work little (or even are wrongdoers) and get paid too much
