[Breitbart] President Trump’s Truth Social post about the murder of Rob Reiner has all the usual suspects beside themselves (their favorite position), but there’s a great point in the President’s words that everyone appears to be missing.
Here’s his full statement:
A very sad thing happened last night in Hollywood. Rob Reiner, a tortured and struggling, but once very talented movie director and comedy star, has passed away, together with his wife, Michele, reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS. He was known to have driven people CRAZY by his raging obsession of President Donald J. Trump, with his obvious paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump Administration surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness, and with the Golden Age of America upon us, perhaps like never before. May Rob and Michele rest in peace!
First off, as is always the case, those raging against Trump refuse to see things from his viewpoint. As much as we might admire Rob Reiner’s art and grieve his and his wife’s grisly murder, Reiner’s legacy is a full legacy that goes beyond his terrible death, his time on All in the Family, and the great movies he directed. There is also this...
For at least a decade, Reiner was one of the ugliest, cruelest, and most dishonest political animals on the public stage. Heaven only knows how he found time to do anything other than abuse his status as a Hollywood and political elite, as he seemed to eat up his waking hours spreading what he knew were lies (the Russia Collusion Hoax, etc.). Worse, he deliberately engaged in a crusade to dehumanize Trump and his supporters as existential threats to the world, democracy, and America.
Sorry, but there is no excusing Reiner’s use of his public standing to abuse the truth.
Remember this... It wasn’t Trump who made this feud personal and public. It was Rob Reiner, and asking a human being (which Trump’s critics tend to forget he is) to wash away a decade of bitter, dishonest, and highly personal smears with goodwill that was never extended to him is asking an awful lot.
But here’s the part of Trump’s statement that grabbed me...
Reiner "was known to have driven people CRAZY by his raging obsession of President Donald J. Trump, with his obvious paranoia reaching new heights..." wrote the President.
From what we know, Rob Reiner’s 32-year-old son Nick has been arrested and charged with butchering his mother and father. We also know that Nick has a long history of mental and addiction issues that stretch back to his early teens. And here’s something else we know...
For a full decade now, the corporate media, the Democrat Party, Hollywood, academia, Silicon Valley, much of corporate America, and their high-profile spokespeople (like Rob Reiner) have relentlessly engaged in what they know is a dishonest campaign to gin up hate and fear. Ever since Trump arrived on the political scene in 2015, every major leftist institution has focused on making a substantial percentage of the country not only hate Trump and his supporters, but hate anyone who dares disagree with them on any issue. George Orwell wrote of a daily "Two Minutes Hate." That’s nothing compared to the last ten years — a 24/7 hate-hate-hate crusade ringing out from every corner of our culture. Rob Reiner stood at the tip of that spear straight through to the end of last year.
In addition to the hate, there’s the fear these institutions and people like Reiner spread like heroin. All the ferocious lies about Nazis and fascism and the end of democracy... The planet is doomed, the oceans will rise, America is a racist country, capitalism has failed, the future is hopeless....
Granted, we don’t know if this had anything to do with Rob and Michelle Reiner’s murder, but common sense tells us that Trump has a point.
Just take a moment to think about it, and you’ll realize this manufactured hate campaign has had a devastating effect on Americans’ mental health; that a decade of spreading all of this bitter fear, division, and hopelessness has triggered something in those who were already mentally fragile. How could it not? Even if you erase the Reiner tragedy from the discussion, we’ve seen an explosion of behavior from the left that ranges from violent to frightening to bizarre to cruel.
They tried to assassinate Trump twice.
They assassinated Charlie Kirk.
Then they celebrated Kirk’s assassination.
Then they mercilessly went after his widow.
They brag about excommunicating family members who vote differently.
They’re desperate to sterilize and sexualize children.
They gush over the cute assassin accused of gunning down a healthcare CEO.
They support attorney general candidates who openly wish death on Republican children.
And they justify this madness based on their self-righteous hate and existential fear of The Other Side, of Those Bad People, of you and I — a hate deliberately and carefully crafted out of lies by our Whoopi Goldbergs, Jake Tappers, Nancy Pelosis, and, yes, Rob Reiners.
There is simply no doubt that the organized left — and Rob Reiner was one of their outspoken leaders — have worsened mental health in this country, not based on what they see as an actual threat, but based on their bloodthirsty desire to gain and hold onto power at any cost. And it’s all lies directed at one man who, in a sane world, would be seen as a moderate Republican.
But here’s the thing... When you’re provoking the mentally fragile and ill, you can’t guarantee how the tipping point will manifest, where it will be directed, or if the monster you’ve created won’t turn on you.
Might it have been better for Trump to say nothing about Reiner?

I wonder if this tragedy could have been avoided.
News reports allege that Nick Reiner struggled with drug addiction so I wonder how much of the drugs he abused were smuggled across our border with Mexico. Then I wonder if Nick Reiner would be as messed up as he was if Trump had been able to secure that border back in 2016 like he wanted to do.
And yet Rob Reiner used his platform to say ridiculous, hateful things about Donald Trump almost every day. Rob Reiner was one of many Hollywood types, social media influencers, who spewed hatred for Trump on a daily basis, calling him a racist, nazi and a dictator. Reiner, Jennifer Lawrence, Bobby DeNiro, Bette Midler and, of course, Rosie O'Donnell all made hateful comments about the man who was trying to protect people like Nick Reiner and their families from the tragic consequences of an open border. Let's not forget Whoopi Goldberg who utters hate speech every day and then wonders why Trump says the things he says. Breitbart would faithfully report these remarks and it got so bad that I couldn't even read Breitbart anymore.
Karma is a bitch.
I do not celebrate Rob Reiner's death but I won't mourn him anymore than I mourn for the hundreds of thousands of families all across this country whose sons and daughters were destroyed by illegal narcotics smuggled across our border with Mexico.

Military forces linked with the Southern Transitional Council launched an operation earlier this month in the eastern provinces of Hadhramaut and Al-Mahra, taking over control from the internationally recognized PLC government of Yemen, which is partly based in Aden and partly based in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).
On December 11th, the PLC’s Parliament issued a statement condemning the recent STC advances and warning of risks of increased bloodshed and economic collapse.
In response, STC President Major Gen Aidrous al-Zubaidi issued a defiant statement appealing to the West.
[ZeroHedge] As a stunning window into the postmodern, relativist, rabidly self-loathing leftist Western mind, the British Medical Journal recently came out with a full-throated endorsement — ironically, in its “Journal of Medical Ethics” — of the tradition of female genital mutilation among certain North African cultures, which it euphemistically rebranded as “female genital practices.”
The main thesis of this extremely lengthy manifesto is that opposition to the mangling of female infants’ sex organs — a practice historically confined mostly to the horn of Africa but recently imported en masse to the West due to torrential migration — is merely due to intolerance of Diversity™, a symptom of White Supremacy™.
White racists, they argue, despite the practice of mangling infant girls’ genitals with no medical justification conferring “potential benefits,” simply can’t appreciate this particular fruit of Diversity™ because their ethnocentrism blinds them.

“In cultures around the world, people have, for millennia, engaged in a wide range of practices to modify human genitalia: through pricking or piercing; adornment with jewellery; stretching, cutting or excising tissues; or more recently, through surgical reshaping in a medicalised context. These practices may affect people of a wide range of ethnic identities and backgrounds; religious and secular people; people in the Global North and South; and people of a wide range of ages, from infancy to adulthood. They may be medicalised or unmedicalised; voluntary or non-voluntary; and associated with different types or degrees of risk, as well as different potential benefits. These benefits—including perceived social benefits, such as a feeling of heightened connection to one’s group—are commonly reported. They need to be understood and acknowledged if one is to account for some groups’ or individuals’ commitment to take on or reproduce these genital practices.
Each of these various genital practices may elicit starkly different attitudes—from enthusiastic endorsement to harsh condemnation depending on one’s values and point of view. For example, some people strongly support transgender surgeries, including for legal minors (in select cases)*, but passionately object to physically similar surgeries in children born with intersex traits. Some people express outrage at ritual practices involving a ‘prick’ to the vulva of prepubescent girls, but show little concern for the ritual penile circumcision of newborn boys. Some people see cosmetic labiaplasty as an appropriate option for older adolescents, as long as they have parental permission, whereas others see the same practice as harmful and oppressive, even for consenting adults.
Different moral reasons—for and against these different practices—are also offered to justify certain positions. Some of these reasons focus on contested claims of harm or benefit; others focus on children’s rights, consent and bodily autonomy; still others are grounded in notions of parental decision-making authority and the value of family privacy.
Such debates and disagreements apply even to the present authors. Some of us, for example, are morally opposed to all genital ‘cutting’ practices that are neither strictly voluntary nor medically necessary, irrespective of the person’s sex or gender. Others believe that religious or customary practices for boys, but not girls, should be allowed. Still others maintain it is up to parents to decide what is best for their children, and that the state should refrain from interfering with any culturally significant practices unless they can be shown to involve serious harm.
Despite our diverse disciplinary expertise in anthropology, sociology, psychology, criminology, law, gender studies, medicine and bioethics, we are united by one shared concern. This common ground has inspired us to collaborate across disciplines and perspectives to write this paper. Our primary concern here is to draw attention to the harms that may be caused by the lack of accuracy, objectivity, fairness and balance in public representations of these diverse practices.
Among other things, we are concerned that, out of all the genital practices alluded to above—carried out across cultures, age ranges, sexes and genders—there has been a systematic tendency to cordon off and single out, for purposes of condemnation and critique, only those practices affecting non-intersex females, and among these, only those that are customary in the Global South, especially in Africa (or in diaspora communities), while ignoring similar practices that have long been customary in powerful countries of the Global North.”
*Consider what the legitimization of child genital mutilation in the name of affirming gender diversity in the West has wrought: opening an avenue to justify all other manner of child genital mutilation.

Eminent Columbia University professor of economics, with longstanding connections to the UN and other international bodies, so I suppose this opinion was inevitable.
It is an ominous document that will—if allowed to stand—come back to haunt the United States.
THE 2025 NATIONAL SECURITY STRATEGY (NSS) recently released by President Donald Trump presents itself as a blueprint for renewed American strength. It is dangerously misconceived in four ways.
First, the NSS is anchored in grandiosity: the belief that the United States enjoys unmatched supremacy in every key dimension of power.
Second, it is based on a starkly Machiavellian view of the world, treating other nations as instruments to be manipulated for American advantage.
