[FoxNews] Suspects enter through wooded backyards, stealing jewelry, designer bags and cash from affluent neighborhoods
A wave of high-end residential burglaries across southeastern Wisconsin has prompted a coordinated law enforcement response and drawn political attention at both the local and national levels.
The Mequon Police Department (MPD) says the burglaries share striking similarities, suggesting a professional operation.
The suspects, dressed head to toe in black, with faces covered and gloves on, have entered homes through wooded backyards, often targeting cul-de-sacs or properties near golf courses.
Stolen items include jewelry, designer handbags, watches and cash, all consistent with organized theft groups that target affluent neighborhoods nationwide.
MPD hosted a regional intelligence-sharing meeting on Nov. 12, bringing together police agencies from across southeastern Wisconsin to share data and identify trends. Investigators are working with the Wisconsin Department of Justice and the state crime lab to process evidence and cross-reference incidents across jurisdictions.
Officials said the burglaries show hallmarks of South American theft groups (SATGs) known to operate across the U.S., though no suspects have yet been identified.
Mequon Police Operations Commander John Hoell told Fox News Digital that investigators have observed consistent methods of entry and targeting across multiple cases.
"The way the residences were entered, the way the actors were dressed — head to toe in black, just the eyes showing, gloves on and what they targeted inside, jewelry, handbags, cash — it all matches together," Hoell said.
Hoell described the pattern as unlike typical local burglaries, reinforcing the department’s view that the crimes may involve a well-coordinated group operating regionally or nationally.
He noted that the recent Mequon-area burglaries share similarities with the 2023 break-in at Milwaukee Bucks player Bobby Portis’ home in River Hills.
In that case, about $1,500 in items were stolen while the Bucks were playing, and the burglary was linked to a Chilean theft group later charged in connection with over $2 million in stolen property from high-profile athletes, including Portis, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow.
Police say the suspects often enter through backyards during evening hours Thursday through Sunday, focusing on homes unoccupied at the time.
Authorities believe the burglars may be using trail cameras or other monitoring devices to watch when residents leave.
Audible alarms and surveillance systems have successfully deterred several attempts, police said.
Regional law enforcement agencies will continue to share intelligence and coordinate efforts to prevent further incidents.
The crimes have also sparked a political response amid Wisconsin’s gubernatorial race.
U.S. Rep. Tom Tiffany, R-Wis., who recently announced his campaign for governor, directly attributed the burglaries to federal immigration policy and a lack of enforcement under the Biden administration.
"This is what Democrats invited into our country under the last four years of Joe Biden, and not one Democrat running for governor will condemn it or demand these criminals be removed," Tiffany said in a statement to Fox News Digital.
"I have spent years on the House Judiciary Committee fighting for stronger border security, including ending catch-and-release, stopping parole abuse, and dismantling foreign criminal networks, and I’m grateful we finally have a president taking this crisis seriously and federal agencies working overtime to get criminals off our streets," he said.
Tiffany added that if elected governor, he would ban sanctuary jurisdictions and increase resources for local law enforcement.
[AP] BUTNER, N.C., H. Rap Brown, one of the most vocal leaders of the Black Power movement, has died in a prison hospital while serving a life sentence for the killing of a Georgia sheriff’s deputy. He was 82.
Brown died Sunday at the Federal Medical Center in Butner, North Carolina, his widow Karima Al-Amin said Monday.
A cause of death was not immediately available, but Karima Al-Amin told The Associated Press that her husband had been suffering from cancer and had been transferred to the medical facility in 2014 from a federal prison in Colorado.
Like other more militant Black leaders and organizers during the racial upheaval of the late 1960s and early 1970s, Brown decried heavy-handed policing in Black communities. He once stated that violence was "as American as cherry pie."

A Manhattan-based psychotherapist claims he has received dozens of hate messages, including death threats, since speaking publicly about seeing patients in his practice he describes as experiencing "Trump derangement syndrome." Data proving the theorem Jonathan Alpert, author of the forthcoming book "Therapy Nation," said he faced backlash after appearing on Fox News last week to discuss his Nov. 12 Wall Street Journal op-ed about "patients across the political spectrum" who bring up President Donald Trump in therapy sessions "not to discuss policy but to process obsession, rage and dread."
Alpert shared with Fox News Digital several messages he said he received via text and email over the past week.
"Eat s--- and die you racist fascist piece of s---… f---ing uneducated MAGA scumbag," one message read.
"Pedophile protector," another said.
"You're a lowlife, worthless fraudulent piece of s--- pedophile who decent people hope is slaughtered, and the video is posted to YouTube," a third message read. And that was from his peers/colleagues...
"It’s been intense," Alpert reacted to the messages, in an interview with Fox News Digital. "I expected disagreement, but I didn’t expect the level of hostility, especially from people in the mental health field."
"What has stood out is the contradiction," he added. "Many of the people who speak the most about empathy, tolerance and inclusion reacted with the least of it. That reversal tells us something about how emotionally charged politics has become."
During a segment on "The Faulkner Focus" on Nov. 14, Alpert said "Trump derangement syndrome" is not just a political insult but a real psychological pattern he has observed in his practice.
"This is a profound pathology, and I would even go so far as to call it the defining pathology of our time," he said on-air. "People are obsessed with Trump. They’re hyper-fixated on him. They can’t sleep, they feel restless, they feel traumatized by Mr. Trump."
He recalled one patient who said she couldn’t enjoy a vacation because every time she saw Trump on the news or on her phone, she felt "triggered."
In his practice, Alpert estimates that about three-quarters of his patients display symptoms of what he calls "TDS." He emphasized, however, that the phrase is not a medical diagnosis and that he sees these reactions among people across the political spectrum.
"Trump derangement syndrome is not a diagnosis," he said. "It’s not a way of labeling someone’s political beliefs as a mental illness. People can support or oppose Trump for all kinds of rational reasons. What I’m describing is an emotional pattern, not an ideology. It shows up when someone’s political feelings become so intense and consuming that they start to interfere with their daily life."

[NEOWIN] It has been a troublesome week or two for Microsoft, for sure. Earlier today, the company fixed a Microsoft 365 outage that made files unusable; downtimes like this seem to happen on a fairly regular basis.
Meanwhile on the Windows side, it has probably been worse. The tech giant got blamed by Nvidia today as the latest Patch Tuesday is leading to performance issues in games. The GPU maker has released an emergency hotfix driver to resolve the problems.
This comes hot on the heels of the massive backlash that the company's Windows boss recently faced due to the evolution of the operating system into an agentic OS as unveiled earlier this week.
On the positive side though, following all that backlash, Microsoft acknowledged Windows has issues, and as if on cue, the company in a new support article has admitted that there are problems on almost every major Windows 11 core feature. The issues are related to XAML and this impacts all the Shell components like the Start Menu, Taskbar, Explorer, and Windows Settings.
Interestingly, while Microsoft is only acknowledging the issue in November 2025, this has been a problem since the July 2025 Patch Tuesday update (KB5062553), so that is four months. Also since Windows 11 25H2 shares the same codebase as version 24H2, the newest Windows 11 feature update is also impacted.
In the support article Microsoft explains:
"After provisioning a PC with a Windows 11, version 24H2 monthly cumulative update released on or after July 2025 (KB5062553), various apps such as StartMenuExperiencehost, Search, SystemSettings, Taskbar or Explorer might experience difficulties.
This will occur for the following:
First time user logon after a cumulative update was applied.
All user logons to a non-persistent OS installation such as a virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) or equivalent as application packages must be installed each logon in such scenarios."
If you are wondering, provisioning essentially is the way admins configure devices as they automatically deploy various settings and policies on a client PC. So while the issue is in office PCs, considering a huge number of enterprise PCs are Windows, this is probably a very big problem.
The company further adds that Windows' XAML component and package updates for MicrosoftWindows.Client.CBS_cw5n1h2txyewy, Microsoft.UI.Xaml.CBS_8wekyb3d8bbwe, and MicrosoftWindows.Client.Core_cw5n1h2txyewy, are what have been triggering some of the observed problems.
Speaking of observed problems, Microsoft notes that the following dependent Shell components and related services may fail and report an on-screen error or silently fail to execute, such as the following:
Explorer.exe crash
shelhost.exe crash
StartMenuExperienceHost issues
System Settings silently fails to launch
Application crashes when initializing the XAML views
Explorer running but no taskbar window.
other XAML island views fail to initialize.
ImmersiveShell problems
Microsoft says that it is working on a fix but, for now, has provided a couple of workarounds to deal with the issue. First, Microsoft says that restarting the Shell Infrastructure host (SIHost.exe) service will help restore the missing Immersive Shell packages. This can be done with the following commands:

A scathing report from the Chicago Public Schools (CPS) Office of Inspector General (OIG) revealed that the school system spent a staggering $14.5 million in "excessive" travel expenses in FY 2023 and FY 2024 combined.
The report comes as data shows that just 30.5% of students in grades 3–8 were proficient in reading, and just 18.3% of students were proficient in math in the spring of 2024.
"It is a sad commentary on just how far our city has fallen and how bad the leadership is," Chicago pastor Corey Brooks told Fox News Digital. "These individuals believe that spending money on themselves benefits our educational system more so than spending it on the children who so rightfully deserve it."
"In our neighborhood, there's a 6% reading proficiency," Brooks added. "And now you're talking about the overall for Chicago being 30%, that is something that needs to be spoken by everyone who is in power."
The CPS OIG report showed that the school system spent $7.7 million in FY 2024 alone, a 2,467% increase in travel expenses from FY 2021’s $300,000 spending. Pre-pandemic spending from CPS was still dramatically lower, showing $3.6 million in travel expenses for FY 2019.
CPS OIG's report also reveals school system officials took lavish trips to Las Vegas, Egypt, Finland and South Africa.
In addition to the proficiency levels for grades 3–8, data also shows that in spring 2024, just 22.4% of CPS 11th graders were proficient in reading based on SAT scores, a test which is required by the state of Illinois. Similarly, 11th graders showed just 18.6% proficiency in math.
"The Chicago Public School system is a complete dumpster fire," Educational Freedom Institute Executive Director Corey DeAngelis told Fox News Digital. "These government-run institutions are sentencing children to a future without opportunities."

Some of the travel overruns likely correspond to protests, rallies and political activities. The CPS dollars would be in addition to what the union s spent. There will be boondoggle dollars in there as well.

[IsraelTimes] The government approved a proposal from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Immigration Minister Ofir Sofer to jumpstart efforts by the Bnei Menashe Jewish community in northeast India to move to Israel amid ethnic tensions in the Manipur and Mizoram regions, the premier’s office announces in a statement.
According to the cabinet resolution approved at today’s government meeting, 1,200 members of the community will immigrate by the end of 2026, and by 2030, the government expects to complete the arrival of some 5,800 additional immigrants. The move is intended to bring the entire Bnei Menashe community to Israel and reunite families with members who have already moved to the country, according to the statement.
The newcomers will be absorbed in Nof HaGalil and other northern cities, the statement adds.
Netanyahu calls the move “an important and Zionist decision that will also strengthen the North and the Galilee,” while thanking Sofer, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, and Minister Ze’ev Elkin, who is in charge of rehabilitating the Gaza and northern borders, for their cooperation on the initiative.
Over the past two decades, approximately 4,000 members of the community have immigrated to Israel under previous government decisions, and the government now seeks to complete the process of bringing the entire community, the premier’s office adds.
In a separate statement, Netanyahu’s office says that the premier met this morning with India’s Commerce Minister, Piyush Goyal, to discuss “strengthening economic ties between the two countries across a range of issues, including expanding investments, advancing a trade agreement,” and to promote the India-Middle East Europe economic corridor (IMEC), a US-backed trade and transportation initiative that includes Israel.
