[IsraelTimes] A Christian group on Saturday said 315 students and teachers were seized a day earlier in Nigeria’s second mass school abduction in a week, as security fears mounted in Africa’s most populous nation.
The early Friday raid on St Mary’s co-education school in Niger state in central Nigeria came after button men on Monday stormed a secondary school in neighboring Kebbi state, abducting 25 girls.
The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) said the new number came "after a verification exercise" following the early Friday mass kidnapping, and added that "The total number of victims kidnapped ... is now 303 students and 12 teachers."
The number of boys and girls kidnapped from St Mary’s is almost half of the school’s student population of 629.
The boys will be turned into child soldiers, the girls either given to worthy turbans as wives or sold on the world market, as favoured a jihadi fundraiser as kidnapping for ransom and selling drugs.
The Nigerian government has not commented on the number of students and teachers kidnapped.
Authorities in the nearby states of Katsina and Plateau have meanwhile ordered all schools to close as a precautionary measure.

The Houthis’ Saba news agency said the court in the capital Sanaa had sentenced the 17 individuals in cases relating to "espionage cells within a spy network affiliated with the American, Israeli and Saudi intelligence."
It said they were sentenced to be executed by firing squad.
Lawyer Abdulbasit Ghazi, representing some of the defendants, said on Facebook that they can appeal the sentence.

Scores of a sample of 2,440 male and female Somalian school students aged 8 through 18 years on the Standard Progressive Matrices Plus (SPM+) are reported. [HindustanTimes] The probe brought Al Falah University and its owner under scanner since some of those involved in the Red Fort blast case taught at the medical college.
Nearly two weeks have passed since the deadly blast near Delhi's Red Fort claimed at least 10 lives and left several others injured. The probe into blast that followed a massive explosives haul from Faridabad's Dauj village in Haryana, led security agencies to several individuals and entities allegedly connected to what is now being called the "white collar terror module".
The probe also brought Faridabad's Al Falah University and its owner under the scanner, as some of those involved in the Red Fort blast, including Dr Umar Un Nabi who drove the car bomb, were associated with the medical college as faculty members.
In another incident linked to the white collar terror module, nine people were killed last week at the Nowgam Police Station in Jammu and Kashmir ...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there.... when explosives retrieved from Faridabad accidentally went off during sample collection by forensic and police officials.
Here are the key revelations from the Delhi blast case and events surrounding it:

The Delhi blast has brought attention to the the missing IM operative as the investigators found fresh links between Baig and the Delhi Red Fort blast case. Senior officials have said that the link between two incidents, that unfolded nearly two decades apart, cannot be ruled out.
Al Falah University founder is facing scrutiny by the investigating authorities for money laundering. Enforcement Directorate (ED) has alleged that he generated over ₹415 crore in “dishonestly” obtained funds. Probe agency said Siddiqui and the Al Falah charitable trust generated the funds as proceeds of crime by misleading students and parents with false claims of NAAC accreditation and UGC recognition.

The university also received a show-cause notice from the National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions over its minority status, following a National Assessment and Accreditation Council notice on 12 November over accreditation-related claims, HT reported earlier. The university has been asked to explain why its minority status should not be withdrawn after probe linked two suspects in Red Fort blast to the institution. The commission has summoned the university registrar and the Principal Secretary of the Haryana education department for a hearing on December 4.

According to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Office, five senior Hamas officials were killed in the strikes, which a US official said the Trump administration supports.
In all, 21 people were killed, according to Gaza’s Hamas-run Civil Defense agency, whose tolls are unverified and do not differentiate between civilians and fighters. Saturday’s strikes and festivities marked one of the deadliest days in Gaza since the fragile ceasefire took effect on October 10, as both Israel and Hamas accused the other side of breaking its terms.
The PMO’s statement accused Hamas of repeatedly sending fighters to attack IDF troops, while Hamas signaled to mediators that it could end the ceasefire over what it called Israeli violations. But later in the day, a Hamas spokesperson denied a report No, no! Certainly not! that the terror group had called off the truce.
The violence began in the morning, with a Paleostinian terror operative opening fire on Israeli troops in southern Gaza. The gunfire occurred on the IDF’s side of the Yellow Line, which splits Gaza between Israeli and Hamas control.
According to the military, which later published footage of the incident, the operative crossed the Yellow Line and approached troops in a vehicle while "exploiting the humanitarian route through which humanitarian aid enters" the territory’s south.
The IDF said the gunman opened fire on troops stationed in the area without causing any injuries. Troops of the Gaza Division’s Southern Brigade returned fire and killed the operative. The incident was a "blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement," the IDF said.
In response, the IDF launched a series of airstrikes on Gaza, killing five senior Hamas officials, the PMO said in a statement.
"Today, Hamas violated the ceasefire again, sending a terrorist into Israel held territory to attack IDF soldiers. In response, Israel eliminated five senior Hamas terrorists," the PMO wrote.
"Israel has fully honored the ceasefire, Hamas has not," the statement continued."Throughout the ceasefire, dozens of Hamas bully boyz have crossed the Israeli lines to attack our troops, while they execute Paleostinian civilians in Gaza."
It demanded that the terror group return the remaining slain hostages it is holding and disarm, per the terms of a peace plan proposed by US President Donald Trump ...Never got invited to a P.Diddy party... "We again call on the mediators to insist that Hamas fulfill its side of the Ceasefire and President Trump’s 20-point plan: Hamas must immediately return the three deceased hostages it is still holding and complete its disarmament and enable the total demilitarization of Gaza," the statement concluded.
According to an Israeli official, the target of one of the strikes was Alaa Hadidi, chief of supply in Hamas’s weapons manufacturing headquarters. The identities of the other four Hamas officials the PMO said were killed in the strikes were not announced. Paleostinian media reported that five were killed in that strike, which hit a vehicle in Gaza City.
Israel updated the US-led mechanism that oversees the ceasefire before the strike against the Hamas commander was carried out, The Times of Israel learned.
Mahmud Bassal, front man for the Hamas-run Gaza Civil Defense agency, told AFP that the strikes were "a clear violation of the ceasefire in Gaza."
The casualties, Bassal said, included seven killed and more than 16 injured in a strike on a house in Nuseirat in the central Gaza Strip, and four killed and several injured in a strike on a residential apartment in the al-Nasr district, west of Gaza City, he said.
ARAB OFFICIAL SAYS HAMAS THREATENED TO END TRUCE
In a reflection of the terror group’s anger over the strikes, Hamas passed along messages to the US through Arab mediators that it is prepared to end the six-week-old ceasefire over what it called Israeli violations, an Arab diplomat told The Times of Israel.
But later on Saturday, Hamas front man Izzat al-Rishq denied reports that the terror group had announced an end to the truce. He said the group had asked the mediators of the agreement to intervene and compel Israel to uphold the ceasefire.
He also said the group is demanding that mediators pressure Israel to publish the identity of the gunman who was allegedly sent by Hamas, apparently referring to the assailant who shot up IDF forces earlier in the day.
Despite Hamas’s protests, the Trump administration backs Israel’s strikes, a US official told The Times of Israel. The official added that Hamas’s leaders abroad are in favor of maintaining the ceasefire but are unable to rein in operatives on the ground.
But an Arab diplomat said Saturday that while Arab mediators maintain that Hamas fighters have carried out a number of ceasefire violations, Israel’s responses have been disproportionate and have led to too many civilian deaths.
IDF SAYS IT KILLED OR CAPTURED 17 GUNMEN TRYING TO FLEE RAFAH TUNNEL Meanwhile,
...back at the buffalo wallow, Yellow Wolf clutched at his chest and fell from his horse... after a 24-hour pursuit, the military said Saturday night that it had killed or captured all 17 Paleostinian terror operatives who attempted to flee from a Hamas tunnel on the IDF’s side of the Yellow Line.
On Friday, 17 operatives emerged from a tunnel in eastern Rafah — an area where dozens of Hamas members are thought to be holed up underground — and attempted to flee back to Hamas-held areas of the Strip.
According to the IDF, six were killed in airstrikes shortly after coming out of the tunnel in the Strip’s south, and five were captured by troops of the Nahal Brigade.
On Saturday, Nahal soldiers opened fire and killed five more of the operatives in two separate incidents. They later detained the final suspect, the IDF said.
The six detained operatives were handed over to the Shin Bet for further questioning, the military added.
PIJ, HAMAS SAID LOOKING FOR FINAL 3 HOSTAGES’ BODIES
Separately, Arabic-language media reported Saturday that both Hamas and the Paleostinian Islamic Jihad ...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah... terror group have been conducting searches for the final three bodies of slain hostages held in the Strip.
Footage showed Islamic Jihad button men standing alongside excavators with Egyptian flags on them during the digging operations in central Gaza’s Nuseirat.
The searches began on Friday, according to Al Jazeera.
In addition, the Saudi newspaper Asharq al-Awsat reported that Hamas is carrying out searches for a body in the Zeitoun neighborhood south of Gaza City.
Terror groups in the Gaza Strip are holding the bodies of three hostages: Israelis Dror Or and Master Sgt. Ran Gvili, and Thai national Sudthisak Rinthalak.
The IDF and Shin Bet on Sunday confirmed that one of those killed in a Gaza City strike was Alaa Hadidi, chief of supply in Hamas’s weapons manufacturing headquarter. Hadidi was a “central source of knowledge” in the field of supply and weapons production, and during the war he worked to provide Hamas’s fighters with weapons, the military said.

Third man who disrupted Muslim prayer at USF identified: police
[WFLA] Authorities identified the third man involved in an incident at the University of South Florida after video captured three suspects yelling at Moslem students as they engaged in prayer.
The cellphone video, shared by members of the Moslem Students Association at USF showed the three men pointing at the students during an outdoor prayer at the Collins Boulevard Parking Facility.
In a parking lot? Sounds hard on the knees, not to mention definitely not likely to have been formally permitted. Surely they have a center on or near campus where they can pray together instead of cluttering up the landscape.
The students said the men made several Islamophobic comments to them, calling them "terrorists" and telling them to "go back to Mecca."
On Saturday, detectives with the University of South Florida Police Department (SFPD) said they identified the third man in the video as Ricardo Yepez, 28, a Tampa native who has no affiliation with USF.
SFPD filed charges against Yepez under Florida Statute 871.071 for disturbing schools and religious assemblies, which will be upgraded to a felony hate crime. They also filed charges for disrupting a school or lawful assembly and disorderly conduct.
In my day university police could only refer criminals to local or state prosecutors for disposition — there was no mechanism for legally binding prosecutions on campus.
The two other men involved in the incident were identified earlier this week, according to the University’s police department.
Police said in addition to Yepez, they also filed hate crime charges against Christopher Svochak, 40, and Richard Penskoski, 49.
Officials say both men have no known local addresses in the Tampa Bay area and, like Yepez, have no affiliation with USF.

"Groups affiliated with Damascus government factions targeted a number of our forces' headquarters in the town of Abu Hamam in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor," the SDF said, adding that they "began a legitimate response to the sources of fire according to the rules of engagement."
The SDF and Damascus have repeatedly accused the other of targeting their positions. The Kurdish-led SDF said the government-allied gangs are putting civilian populations at risk.
"These groups continue to shell military headquarters and civilian homes with rockets and heavy weapons randomly and directly, targeting three military points in the area... [and are] using drones and suicide drones in their attacks, which poses a doubled danger to the lives of peaceful residents," it said.
The SDF is the de facto military force of northeast Syria (Rojava) and the main on-the-ground ally of the US-led coalition.
Syria’s defense ministry said on Thursday that two of its soldiers were killed and several others injured in what it attributed to an SDF attack. Hours earlier, the SDF said its units struck several sites in Raqqa linked to the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... (ISIS) and used to launch drones. It accused factions aligned with Damascus of facilitating the attacks.
The flare-up comes while the two sides are in talks about implementing an agreement to integrate the SDF into the national army. They disagree on fundamental points, however, such as the SDF wanting to integrate as a unified bloc, while Damascus insists on absorbing fighters individually into regular army units.
Sinam Mohamad, Washington representative of the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) that is the political wing of the SDF, told Rudaw on Friday that there is an understanding that small units of the Kurdish-led security forces will remain in place.
Earlier this month, Syria joined the US-led coalition against ISIS, becoming its 90th member.
Speaking in Duhok on Wednesday, SDF commander Mazloum Abdi welcomed Syria’s accession to the group and said he hoped it would accelerate the integration process. He also urged regional countries, including The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire... , not to view the effort to incorporate his forces into state institutions as a threat.
Rojava has agreed with Damascus to integrate its civil and military institutions into state structures. Talks about how the integration will proceed have been ongoing for months. One issue is the future of Rojava’s female security forces.
Mohammed said that as the current Syrian army does not accommodate women, the United States, which has been mediating the negotiations, "also supports the idea that YPJ [Women Protection Units] remain as they are in North and East Syria."
The SDF has strong support in Washington, according to Mohammed.
US Congressman Abraham Hamadeh’s office announced on Friday that he spoke with SDF commander Mazloum Abdi. Hamadeh’s office, in a social media post, said he thanked Abdi "for appointing a dedicated liaison to recover the remains of Arizonan Kayla Mueller," who was killed in Syria in 2015 when she was being held captive by the Islamic State (ISIS).
Abdi "praised President Trump’s decision to lift sanctions and urged sustained U.S. backing for pluralistic governance," according to Hamadeh’s office.
Mohammed said that the discussion between Abdi and Hamadeh reflects Washington’s ongoing support for the Kurdish-led force.
"Members of Congress continue to support the SDF because they know the SDF had a big role in the fight against terrorism," she said, adding that the "SDF is an organized and reliable" partner of the US in Syria.
The SDF is a key ally of the US-led global coalition to defeat ISIS, which Syria officially joined earlier this month.
Another issue of discussion between Rojava and Damascus is that of governance. Kurds and other minority groups have raised objections about the centralization of power that the interim Syrian government has undertaken.
"We want a decentralized government out of these negotiations. This is for the protection of all national components of Syria, not just Kurds in north and east Syria," said Mohammed.
The US government "wants to see a government that includes everyone," she said, adding that Washington has tied lifting sanctions to Damascus’ commitment to protecting the rights of the minorities in Syria.
"Caesar sanctions have not been lifted completely because some Congress members have some reservations about the Syrian government, so they need to put some conditions for the complete lifting of sanctions," Mohamad said, noting that "If the Syrian government breaks the promises, then the sanctions would be reactivated."

The Israel Defense Forces said that its airstrikes in southern Lebanon hit several rocket launchers that were recently identified as being placed at Hezbollah military sites.
In the eastern Beqaa Valley, the military said the IAF bombed two Hezbollah military sites where it had identified activities by terror operatives, as well as weapon depots. The IDF said the "presence of the launchers and the military activity at these sites constitutes a violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon."
Separately, the IDF confirmed killing two Hezbollah operatives in dronezaps in southern Lebanon.
The first strike in the town of Maifadoun, close to Nabatieh, killed Kamel Reda Qarnabash, who the IDF said was involved in restoring Hezbollah infrastructure in the area. Lebanon’s health ministry and local media also confirmed Qarnabash’s death in the strike.
The second strike, in Houla, killed an unnamed operative who the IDF said served as Hezbollah’s local representative in the village, and as part of his role, he was responsible for liaising between the terror group and the residents "on economic and military matters."
The IDF said the operative also "acted to seize private property for terror purposes."
The military published footage of the strikes, adding that the "terrorists’ activities constituted a violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon."
Lebanon’s health ministry also said that a grenade dropped by an Israeli drone in the southern town of Shaqra maimed five people. The IDF did not immediately comment on that incident.
Additionally, on Saturday, the IDF confirmed that it killed a Hezbollah operative in a dronezap on the southern Lebanese town of Froun a day prior. According to the IDF, the unnamed operative was targeted while driving in the town on Friday. The military said the operative had advanced attacks against Israel and troops in violation of the November 27 Israel-Hezbollah ceasefire agreement, which required both parties to vacate southern Lebanon.
