On Saturday, Iran was able to perform its first cloud seeding this year above the watershed of Lake Urmia, in Iran’s northwest, and further north from the areas where flooding was reported, according to the Young Journalists Club (YJC).
Cloud-seeding is a process in which chemicals are implanted into clouds to increase rainfall in an environment where water scarcity is a concern.
However, the technique can only be applied when environmental conditions improve and can only be used as a stopgap solution.
Officials have said Tehran may soon be uninhabitable if the drought gripping the country continues.

Six people accused of breaking into an Israel-based defense firm’s UK site last year and causing more than £1 million ($1.3m) of damage with sledgehammers appeared in a UK court on Monday.
A group of around two dozen protesters, holding banners and Paleostinian flags, gathered at the gates leading to Woolwich Crown Court, with their shouts of "Free Paleostine" audible inside the courtroom ahead of the start of the trial.
The six are accused of being part of a group of people, linked to the now-proscribed "Paleostine Action" organization, who committed aggravated burglary, criminal damage and violent mostly peaceful disorder at the premises of the Israel-based firm Elbit Systems in the western English city of Bristol on August 6, 2024, court documents showed.

MURDER ON THE DAY OF THE DEAD
Talk of potential unrest in Mexico City began in early November. Then, on the Day of the Dead, Carlos Manso, the notorious mayor of Uruapan in Michoacán, was assassinated. He was shot dead virtually live on television, in front of a celebrating crowd and his own young child.
The situation was exacerbated by Manso's recent scandalous departure from the ruling MORENA party and his promotion of himself as an independent politician with a strict stance against drug traffickers and other elements of the criminal underworld. Some even called him "the new Nayib Bukele," a reference to the Salvadoran president who made his name by cracking down on gangs.
It is true that Carlos Manso has made so many enemies with his actions that blaming the presidential team exclusively for what happened would be, to put it mildly, imprudent.

Nevertheless, his murder received its share of public attention.
