It’s always remarkable to watch enemies of free speech slip, without fail, perfunctory nods to the First Amendment into the middle of their anti-First Amendment tirades, as if that meaningless caveat negates the entire rest of the speech.
Among his many, many transgressions against the Constitution and basic decency while he occupied the White House, Barack Obama signed the Smith-Mundt Modernization Act of 2012 that officially allowed CIA regime media outlets like Voice of America to deluge the American public with its propaganda. (In reality, of course, via Operation Mockingbird and similar programs, the CIA had been quietly propagandizing Americans for decades since its inception, but Obama made it legal.)

According to a former high-ranking Venezuelan official who defected and witnessed the meeting, the purpose was to "project the Bolivarian revolutionary project onto the streets of the United States," meaning to sow chaos and division to erode American democracy from within.
This testimony does not come out of nowhere. The defector, close to Ch vez's inner circle, described a meeting in Caracas where Tometi arrived accompanied by three other African American women and actor Danny Glover, a known sympathizer of communist regimes like those in Cuba and Venezuela.
On his deathbed due to cancer, Ch vez saw BLM as the perfect tool to export his anti-imperialist ideology.
Notably, BLM had already emerged in 2013, spurred by the Trayvon Martin case, but its ideological roots are steeped in declared Marxism: Cullors identifies as a "trained Marxist," and Tometi has invoked figures like Assata Shakur, a convicted runaway for murder living in exile in Cuba

The connections do not end there. In 2006, Ch vez had already called from the World Social Forum in Caracas for the creation of a "fifth column" of the left in the US to sabotage its policies. BLM fit the role perfectly. In 2015, Tometi personally invited Nicol s Maduro, Ch vez's successor, to an event in Harlem, New York, during the UN General Assembly.
There, Maduro shared the stage with Glover and a BLM co-founder, who embraced him warmly in front of a giant portrait of the dictator. That same year, Tometi traveled to Venezuela as an electoral observer for the parliamentary elections, a process boycotted by the OAS, UN, and EU due to evident fraud
Rather than denouncing irregularities, Tometi praised the Venezuelan system as "one of the best in the world" and drafted a manifesto on behalf of BLM supporting the "Bolivarian revolution." " Fulfilling my duty as a global citizen, " she tweeted, ignoring the extrajudicial executions and famine already plaguing the country.
This alliance is no coincidence but part of a hemispheric Marxist network orchestrated by the S o Paulo Forum, promoted by Venezuela. BLM participated in its meetings, strengthening ties with dictatorships that oppress their own people, including millions of Venezuelan Afro-descendants massacred by Chavista repression
Under Maduro, the Venezuelan police kill six times more people per year than in the US, in a country twelve times smaller and with private firearms banned. Cases like that of Genesis Carmona, a former beauty queen shot by snipers in 2014, or the racist lynching of a Black youth in 2017, symbolize the horror that Tometi endorsed.
While BLM raises millions in corporate donations—$90 million alone in 2020—its leaders buy luxury mansions and divert funds to family consultancies, leaving local chapters and victims of police violence with scraps.

[DEVto] Let’s be honest: AI today is mostly hype wrapped in jargon, sold by marketers, and blindly worshipped by decision-makers. Here’s why I call it a SCAM — Systematic Commercial Abuse of Minds.
1. It's Not "Intelligent"
Despite the name, most AI is not intelligent. It’s statistical pattern matching. It doesn’t think, it predicts. LLMs like ChatGPT don’t "understand" you. They autocomplete your thoughts based on trillions of examples. Impressive? Yes. Intelligent? No.
2. Productivity Gains Are Exaggerated
AI is pitched as a magic bullet for productivity. In reality:
Time saved using AI is often lost validating or fixing its output.
For many businesses, the cost of integration outweighs short-term benefits.
"Automation" hype rarely includes the human time needed for prompting, reviewing, or editing.
3. AI for Everything? Nonsense.
Most "AI transformation" projects are overkill:
A POS system doesn’t need AI. You need reliability and speed, not sentiment analysis on why a kid bought candy.
AI gets thrown into dashboards just to make them look "smart".
Fancy UI, zero real value.
4. VC and Big Tech FOMO
Let’s not forget the money trail:
VCs pumped billions into AI startups without real product-market fit.
Big Tech overhired in AI and now needs to justify it — hence, the "AI-everywhere" narrative.
The public gets the illusion of progress while core tech remains unchanged.
5. It’s a Business Model, Not a Breakthrough
Most current "AI" products:
Lock you into proprietary APIs
Sell your data to "improve models"
Offer expensive subscriptions with marginal gains over basic automation
The SCAM is simple: take old automation, rebrand it as AI, add a chatbot, slap a usage-based fee on it.
6. Exceptions Exist — But Rarely Justify the Noise
Yes, AI is useful in:
Fraud detection
Medical imaging
Predictive maintenance
But that’s not 95% of businesses. For most SMBs or internal tools, a well-written SQL query or rule-based workflow will outperform AI.

If generating a proposed solution for a problem is hard but evaluating a proposed solution is simple, then using AI makes sense.
Productivity in generic graphics and image design in applied art and perhaps generic music (promotional jingles) is improved by orders of magnitude by AI.
When it comes to factual precision AI is anything but reliable. The danger is that it is trained to mimic experts so that non experts in a field will be easily fooled.
It also doesn't know how to say "I don't know."
Pop culture has taught us to expect AI to be a sober, analytical, fact oriented Mr Spock when real 2025 AI is more like an eccentric, unreliable and unpredictable occasional genius like Milos Foreman's Mozart.

Let's be honest, any hot thing will attract scammers. For example, Crypto is mostly scam sh!t coins; but damn, you could retire today if you dumped $10K into bitcoin back in 2011.
I work with AIs extensively, i find them very useful, and I can tell you they have different personalities and different quarks - which i find especially interesting.

One of the worst aspects of AI.
Useful though. I trained Grok to locate bypassed pay in an area where three overlapping oilfields meet along a fault slip with a very complex, intermittent and somewhat unknown operating history. It nailed the local geology; read & interpreted well logs (hundreds, new & old), planned the pilot redevelopment program (locatons & completions), predicted decline curves (close & improved with additional data), ferreted out solid ideas on regulatory issues only rarely encountered, etc.
When it has a lot of data and context it can do some impressive things. E.g., in considering locally specific completion alternatives it spontaneously decided to write code to simulate fracture propagation behind several combinations of perforating gun geometries & types of shape charges then analyzed eventual lifetime recovery by each completion alternative. Petroleum engineer & perforating contractor said it was "pretty damn close" to their real-world experience. Had dozens of similar experiences during the early "back of the envelope" stage of the project.
It's like having an army of eager young assistants who produce amazing results ... that you absolutely must test & verify yourself. But if you have a wildly complex project with lots of data, many sources of information & a willingness to keep refining the exchanges it can do some wild stuff.

[IsraelTimes] The head of the right-wing Heritage Foundation in Washington defends Tucker Carlson, as it faces calls to cut ties with the former Fox News host for his friendly interview with Holocaust denier Nick Fuentes.
In a video statement, Kevin Roberts states, “Christians can criticize Israel without being antisemitic” and that Jew hatred should be condemned, before saying that “my loyalty as a Christian and as an American is to Christ first and to America always.”
I have no problem with any of that…
“When it serves the interests of the United States to cooperate with Israel and other allies, we should do so,” Roberts continues, before saying “conservatives should feel no obligation to support any foreign government, no matter how loud the pressure becomes from the globalist class or from their mouthpieces in Washington.
Agreed. The globalist class is out there screeching “Free, free Palestine.” They demand the US support Hamas and work to destroy Israel. We can’t submit to that nonsense.
Roberts asserts that the role of his think tank isn’t “canceling our own people or policing the consciences of Christians, and we won’t start doing that now.”
Of course.
He then adds that the Heritage Foundation “will always defend our friends against the slander of bad actors who serve someone else’s agenda,” including Tucker Carlson, who he claims is being attacked by a “venomous coalition… sowing division.”
Mr. Carson started gleefully pushing the lies of Jew haters. It is not venomous to point out that fact, nor divisive to reject him for it, however fond of him we were before.
Roberts also says that though he “disagrees with and even abhors things that Nick Fuentes says,” the avowed antisemite shouldn’t be canceled.
The video was a striking show of support from the influential conservative organization, which previously put out "Project Esther," a right-wing plan to counter antisemitism after the October 7, 2023, Hamas ..always the voice of sweet reason... -led attack on Israel. The Heritage Foundation was also behind Project 2025, a right-wing blueprint for President Donald Trump ...The man who was so stupid he beat fourteen professional politicians, a former tech CEO, and a brain surgeon for the Republican nomination in 2016, then beat The Smartest Woman in the World in the general election. Then he beat Kamala while dodging bullets... ’s second term in office that has been closely adhered to on a policy level, and that has farmed many of Trump’s closest associates.
Fuentes has mounted an outside bid for influence within the larger right-wing movement, emphasizing his overt antisemitism. His chummy conversation on Tuesday with Carlson, who agreed with the provocateur on many issues including Israel, was seen as a further mainstreaming of antisemitic views within the right. This is not the first time Carlson has welcomed a Holocaust denier to his popular talk show.
Roberts, however, said Fuentes should not be sidelined but engaged.
"I disagree with, and even abhor, things that Nick Fuentes says," Roberts said, without elaborating. "But canceling him is not the answer, either. When we disagree with a person’s thoughts and opinions, we challenge those ideas in debate. And we have seen success in this approach as we continue to dismantle the vile ideas of the left."
Following his remarks on only supporting Israel when it suits the United States, Roberts quoted a statement to that effect made by Vice President JD Vance in Mississippi on Wednesday evening. Vance made the comment during a question-and-answer session on a college campus where he, too, faced criticism for failing to condemn a question laced with antisemitism.
"What I am not OK with is any country coming before the interests of American citizens, and it is important for all of us, assuming we’re American citizens, to put the interests of our own country first," Vance said in the statement quoted by Roberts.
