[JustTheNews] Deputy Director Dan Bongino said recent successes in Milwaukee, San Antonio, New York and Philadelphia were the outgrowth of enhanced partnerships with local police departments.
Director Kash Patel’s FBI has been building fresh alliances with local police for months, and that effort is now paying big dividends as a sweeping crime crackdown disabled illegal enterprises in cities nationwide that hit everything from the Mafia to drug cartels.
FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino gave a weekend update that added new details on the national crackdown, including an operation Friday code-named “Chalkline” that used 14 SWAT teams to penetrate street gangs that had been terrorizing Milwaukee and Racine in southeastern Wisconsin.
Officials said the raids around Milwaukee were the product of years-long investigations that tied the gangs to global trafficking cartels.
Operation Chalkline was a "long-term multi-year criminal enterprise investigation that targeted a violent street gang operating in Milwaukee and Racine with direct connections to a major international cartel," the FBI's Milwaukee office said in a statement.
It netted 22 arrests plus the confiscation of many weapons and drugs, officials said.
Bongino said the recent successes in such cities as Milwaukee, New York, Philadelphia and San Antonio were the outgrowth of enhanced partnerships with local police departments through Homeland Security task forces and that many more are forthcoming.
"Early on in his term, President Trump made clear to Director Patel and me that he would not tolerate criminal disorder, gang violence, organized crime or unsafe streets," Bongino wrote on X. "He told us in clear and certain terms, 'go get em boys.' And, along with our dedicated federal, state and local partners, we did."
He also wrote: "We rescued thousands of children, arrested nearly 30,000 violent criminals, seized thousands of kilos of dangerous street poison, and we investigated and arrested factions of the mafia, foreign terror organizations, and violent street gang leaders."
The Milwaukee operation provided insights on how the partnerships work.
Officials said the raids involved work by the Racine County Sheriff’s Office and the Caledonia, Mount Pleasant and Racine police departments.
The partnerships, known as Homeland Security Task Forces, bring together FBI and HSI personnel—as well as task force officers from local, state, and federal partner agencies—to investigate transnational organized crime activity such as drug trafficking and human trafficking, the FBI said.
"Transnational organized crime is a complex and constantly-evolving threat—and it demands an equally sophisticated and agile response," Patel said. "Homeland Security Task Forces are at the forefront of the U.S. government's fight to keep the tentacles of international gang, cartel, and transnational criminal organization activity from reaching our shores and victimizing innocent Americans.
"The FBI is proud to be leading this charge alongside Homeland Security Investigations and our state, local, and federal interagency partners in support of President Trump's executive order and of Attorney General Bondi and Homeland Security Secretary Noem's collective vision for these specialized squads," he added. "Together, we'll continue to disrupt and dismantle these foreign terrorist organizations, bring their members and collaborators to justice, and restore law and order in our communities. Let's get after it.”
The week-long sweeps resulted in nearly 100 arrests in a dozen cities, with the highest profile being more than 30 arrests in what authorities said was a Mafia-led gambling ring that impacted sports betting and included an NBA coach and player.
Bongino said other major operations included:
Agents in Philadelphia taking down a drug trafficking ring in the Kensington neighborhood in which over 30 members of the Weymouth Street Crew were charged with conspiracy to commit drug trafficking.
Agents in San Antonio and Albuquerque arresting three subjects, conducting four search warrants and seizing over $2 million in illegal narcotics, including THC/vape pens, over $182,000 in bulk cash, 11 firearms and four vehicles.
Agents in Salt Lake City who arrested four individuals for illegal gambling and money laundering, executed one federal search warrant, and assisted in 116 immigration arrests.
Patel announced earlier this month that FBI has arrested more than 28,630 violent criminals so far in 2025, a massive jump over prior years.

To put it bluntly: Ukraine must somehow turn its lost war against Russia into a victory, and the EU must be militarily ready for action by 2030. The fact that this would only be feasible with a functioning economy has apparently not yet dawned on the power center in Brussels. Instead, they are preparing for a major fiscal “liberation strike,” giving bureaucracy a lush boom of its own.
When German Chancellor Friedrich Merz traveled to Brussels for the EU summit, his fiery rhetoric about EU bureaucratization followed him closely. “Let me put it in very vivid terms: We need to stick a branch into the wheels of this Brussels machine so that this stops,” Merz declared in September at a conference of the SME and Economic Union — playing, for a brief moment, the role of someone who understands the concerns of the small-business community.
EMPTY MEDIA THEATER
Given today’s Kafkaesque bureaucratic pressures, Merz will likely resort more frequently to this kind of small-business slang in the coming months — whenever the complaints from industry grow louder and demands to end pointless regulatory harassment reach public consciousness.
But no one should expect serious reforms. The example of relabeling “citizen’s income” to “basic security” without any structural change shows that the German government’s policy amounts to a media performance, buying time to defend Brussels’ eco-socialist course at any cost.
The summit confirmed this: Some “mini-reforms” are allowed to release a bit of pressure — but the fundamental line is untouchable. By 2040, the EU must produce climate-neutral output, no matter the cost — either through radical de-growth like in Germany or via buying CO₂ indulgences from elsewhere. As long as the climate books balance, nothing else matters.
MASTERS OF CONCEALING CAUSALITY
Brussels is world champion in disguising cause and effect.
In fact, the EU is already preparing a €2 trillion heavyweight budget to be launched in 2028 — with green subsidies and new war machinery, all centrally orchestrated and embedded into national bureaucracies. In Germany’s case, Brussels’ debt wave is complemented by another €50 billion per year from “special funds.” Thousands of new government jobs will be needed to distribute this credit shock.
That this will inevitably trigger major inflation and further tax hikes is something the Chancellor prefers not to mention. The public mood is already… let’s say: tense. No need to pour fuel on that fire.
INDUSTRIAL EXODUS ACCELERATES
The fallout is obvious. A recent survey of 240 executives in energy-intensive industries like steel and chemicals shows: 31% of major companies in Germany are shifting production abroad. Another 42% are delaying investment or moving it to other European locations.
Energy prices, overregulation, and rising trade pressure from the U.S. — all accelerating Germany’s deindustrialization — and strengthened by a bureaucracy that keeps multiplying like bacteria in a petri dish.
Yet neither CEOs nor unions dare challenge the grotesque EU climate agenda. Brussels’ climate crusade increasingly resembles a sectarian conspiracy against rationality and economic logic.
The solution already exists — straight from former ECB chief Mario Draghi: more debt, another €800-billion megaprogram to “boost productivity” — meaning: more central control in Brussels. Add climate ideology plus war economy — and the recipe for the EU’s future is complete.
[JustTheNews] Was it worse? The Pentagon press corps was up in arms about new media guidelines proposed by Hegseth, but for years the very same outlets agreed to significantly greater restrictions on their reporting at Gitmo when under the Obama and Biden administrations.
Dozens of media outlets refused to sign new Trump Pentagon press guidelines, arguing that the rules were too onerous, but many of the very same outlets previously signed Obama-Biden era media policies that were far more restrictive and censorious in order to cover the war court at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba.
Many large outlets such as The Washington Post, the Associated Press, Reuters, The New York Times, Fox News, NBC News, and CBS News were among those which refused to sign the Pentagon’s new media guidelines. At the same time, these outlets agreed to far more restrictive policies — including censorship — in order to cover Guantánamo Bay.
Carol Rosenberg of the Times, in particular, reported at the Cuban war court for many years — and all the reporters who traveled to Gitmo were required to sign severely restrictive agreements with the military before they were allowed onto the base.
Despite the opposition from news outlets to the new press guidelines instituted by the Department of Defense (now also called the Department of War), the media guidelines at Guantánamo Bay that have been in place for many years — and that have been signed by dozens of reporters — include promises by these news outlets to not publish certain sensitive information, to not interview certain subjects, to stay out of certain areas, and to allow military handlers to censor what photos and videos reporters are allowed to publish.
None of the outlets immediately provided a comment to Just the News.
After the filing period, the Department of War on Wednesday announced a revamped iteration of the Pentagon press corps, with Just the News signing the new media guidelines and being named a new member of the group.
"We are excited to announce over 60 journalists, representing a broad spectrum of new media outlets and independent journalists, have signed the Pentagon’s media access policy and will be joining the new Pentagon press corps," DoW spokesman Sean Parnell stated, criticizing the outlets that “chose to self-deport from the Pentagon” rather than sign the DoW’s new guidelines.

I don’t want a lot of media coverage of the military. I don’t want generals mugging for the camera and giving access. If the media refuse to cover the military in the destructive manner that previously existed, I call that a win.
