[NIGERIANEYE] The Nigerian military has dealt a significant blow to terrorist networks and criminal syndicates across the country, neutralizing dozens of turbans, apprehending 62 suspects, and liberating 30 kidnapped victims in a series of coordinated operations over the past week, the Defence Headquarters (DHQ) announced on Thursday.
The sweeping actions, spanning the North-East, North-West, and South-South regions, underscore the armed forces' renewed offensive against Boko Haram ... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. Speaking at a media briefing in Abuja, Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Markus Kangye, hailed the troops' "relentless determination" under Operations Hadin Kai, Hadarin Daji, and Delta Safe.
"Our gallant men and women have dismantled terror hideouts, intercepted illicit arms shipments, and freed innocents from the clutches of violence," Kangye stated, adding that the operations yielded a trove of recovered weaponry, including 18 AK-47 rifles, two General Purpose Machine Guns (GPMGs), 450 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, and several improvised bombs (IEDs).
"These successes deny the enemies the capacity to regroup and strike."In the volatile North-East theatre, troops of Operation Hadin Kai clashed with Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters in Borno State's Mafa, Dikwa, Gwoza, and Damboa Local Government Areas.
Fierce firefights resulted in the neutralization of at least 25 terrorists, with five high-value targets confirmed eliminated via drone surveillance and ground assaults.
"We exploited intelligence leads to raid a suspected bomb-making factory in Konduga, seizing explosives and detonators that could have fueled suicide kabooms," Kangye detailed.
The operations also led to the arrest of 12 suspected collaborators, including a logistics supplier in Yobe State, and the rescue of 12 hostages among them women and kiddies held for over six months.
Recovered items included cycle of violences used for hit-and-run raids and N2.5 million in cash believed to fund turban activities.
Further north, in the bandit-plagued North-West, Operation Hadarin Daji intensified patrols in Zamfara, Katsina, and Sokoto states.
Troops ambushed a bandit convoy in Tsafe Local Government Area, neutralizing 15 button men and capturing 28 suspects, including a notorious kidnap kingpin identified as Malam Yusufu.
"The raid freed 10 victims, including schoolchildren kidnapped en route to a farm settlement," Kangye said. In a related breakthrough, intelligence-driven arrests in Niger and Kaduna nabbed 22 more suspects linked to arms trafficking, with seizures of 10 locally fabricated pistols and 200 rounds of ammunition.
The DHQ noted that these efforts disrupted planned abductions targeting rural communities, where banditry has displaced over 50,000 residents since January.

[IsraelTimes] British police have confiscated weapons from the home of an Oxford University student who was arrested for inciting racial hatred after leading chants of ‘put the Zios in the ground’ in London last week, British media reports.
On Saturday, a man was caught on video leading protesters in a chant of “Gaza, Gaza, make us proud, put the Zios in the ground.” ‘Zio’ is a slur for Jews popularized by KKK leader David Duke.
The man was later identified as Samuel Williams, a student of politics, philosophy and economics at Oxford University. He had previously been pictured in photos shared by the Oxford Students Palestine Society.
Williams was suspended from his studies by Oxford and arrested for inciting racial hatred. He was released on bail, but a police investigation of his parents’ home on Thursday in the village of Pembury in Kent uncovered a significant stash of weapons and ammunition, according to the Daily Mail.
Police confiscated the weapons, although it is not clear whether they were illegally owned.

While Abbott did not specify what protest he was speaking about, there are scads of "No Kings" events scheduled for Saturday around the nation, including one in Austin, Texas.
On Friday, Fox News Digital reached out to Abbott's office, which responded by pointing to a press release that states the governor "directed the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) and Texas National Guard to deploy personnel and tactical assets to Austin ahead of a planned antifa-linked demonstration to protect Texans and their property."
Fox News Digital also reached out to No Kings for comment on Friday and received a response from the American Civil Liberties Union, which provided a statement from Ellen Flenniken, deputy director of the Justice Division of the ACLU.
"Millions of people are anticipated to peacefully protest at more than 2,700 No Kings events across the country on Saturday. While President Trump and his allies are trying to intimidate us into silence by deploying troops to our cities, the best way to protect our First Amendment rights is to keep using them," Flenniken said in the statement.
Austin Mayor Kirk Watson noted in part of a Thursday post on X, "I have confirmed that the National Guard will be prepared to assist the Texas Department of Public Safety and otherwise take actions on Saturday, if deemed necessary. We are told that the Guard will not be on the streets of Austin unless there is a determination that there is an emergency need."
Texas Democratic Party chair Kendall Scudder accused Abbott of "doing everything he can to suck up to Donald Trump, including taking a page from Trump’s authoritarian playbook, and intimidating people exercising their First Amendment right."

Federal prosecutors in Louisiana accused a man of participating in the Hamas-led October 2023 attack on Israel and then traveling to the United States on a fraudulent visa, according to a criminal complaint unsealed on Thursday.
…identified in court documents as Mahmoud Amin Ya’qub al-Muhtadi (red headband), as an operative for the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP), a terror group in Gaza that has fought alongside Hamas.
It accused him of organizing other armed fighters in Gaza and crossing into Israel on Oct. 7, 2023, following the first wave of terrorists.
The DFLP was formally designated as a terrorist organization by the State Department, but was removed years ago after the group became less prominent.
On his U.S. visa application, Al-Muhtadi denied he had ever been involved in terrorist activities, and became a legal permanent resident in 2024, the complaint says.
The complaint says the agent requested an arrest warrant for Al-Muhtadi on Oct. 6, but does not specify when and where he was taken into custody. The [FBI criminal] complaint says he could face charges for visa fraud and for conspiring to provide support for a foreign terrorist organization.
Al-Muhtadi’s social media and email accounts revealed that he had been affiliated with the terrorist group for years. He conducted firearms training for terrorists, the FBI said.
In phone calls on the morning of the October 7 attack, Al-Muhtadi allegedly told his comrades to “bring the rifles” and that “there is kidnapping, and it’s a game, which will be a good one.”
The suspect applied for a US visa in Cairo, Egypt, in June 2024 and denied involvement in a paramilitary organization or terrorist activity, The Post reported.
On the morning of October 7, 2023, members of Hamas ..a regional Iranian catspaw,... ’s Nukhba unit led the invasion of Israel. Referring to Deif’s message, he coordinated a group of bandidossnuffies to join him. By 9:33 a.m., his group had crossed the border, and around 30 minutes later, his cell phone connected to a service tower near Kibbutz Kfar Aza, indicating he was inside Israel.
Kfar Aza was one of the communities hit hardest in the onslaught. During the attack, some 250 bandidossnuffies swarmed the unsuspecting community of around 950 residents. The attackers took over the village in an hour, killing 62 residents and 18 security personnel, and taking 19 civilians hostage.

The group coordinates with Hamas and openly participated in the October 2023 Hamas attack, posting online that its members had crossed into Israel. The day after, the group said its fighters had attacked Kfar Aza, Be’eri and Kissufim.
Investigators found messages on Muhtadi’s phone showing himself holding weapons and wearing an NRB headband.
Muhtadi also sent images of a document showing that he had a weapon and ammunition that were "property of the National Resistance® Brigades," and sent photos of himself with other armed NRB members. In the messages, he referred to the group as his "young men," indicating that he was a senior figure in the group, prosecutors said.
He also boasted about attacking a military outpost in Israel in 2021, saying in a message, "I swear by God, we burned them!"
Investigators recovered recorded phone calls from October 7 in which Muhtadi referred to the attack, discussing Israelis celebrating the Simchat Torah holiday, which he referred to as the Jewish version of "Eid," a Moslem holiday.
"They still haven’t awakened from the shock," Muhtadi said, referring to Israelis. "They are still drunk, because it’s the last day of their Eid."
In the calls, Muhtadi discussed his knowledge of the attack, his intention to join, his efforts to gather other attackers and weapons, and crossing the border into Israel, according to the complaint.
"There are lots of soldiers who have been kidnapped. Yes, it’s taking place down there. Yes, there is kidnapping, and it’s a game, which will be a good one," he said, adding that he hoped the hostages would lead to ceasefire negotiations.
He expressed hope that Syria and Leb ...The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozen flavors of Christians, plus Armenians, Georgians, and who knows what else?... would join the war and that it would become "a third world war."
"That will be perfect," he said.
He also told his followers to "bring the rifles," ammunition magazines and a bulletproof vest and that he had a full car ready to cross into Israel. He told another group member to "get ready" and that "the borders are open." In a later call, he said he was inside Israel and told other attackers to turn their phones off.
The complaint did not say if Muhtadi had killed anyone.

In the sworn statement, he said he did not have any weapons training, had never been in a krazed killer group, had no ties to terrorist groups and had not participated in acts of violence.
Muhtadi met with a consular official at the US embassy in Cairo in August 2024, where he swore to the accuracy of his visa application and provided fingerprints and photographs of himself.
He arrived in Dallas, Texas, in September 2024, saying he planned to move to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to work in car repairs or food services. He obtained an Oklahoma driver’s license.
He later posted a photo on social media that showed himself wearing a keffiyeh and loading a handgun. Other photos showed his children posing with the weapon.
The Israeli government alerted the US to Muhtadi’s participation in the attack in May 2025. The following month, FBI agents found him in Louisiana working at a restaurant and began to monitor him.
Federal prosecutors charged Muhtadi with supporting a terrorist organization and visa fraud in the federal US Western District Court of Louisiana.
Louisiana jail records showed that Muhtadi was being held in the St. Martin Gay Pareeh Sheriff’s Office Jail outside Lafayette.

Upon receiving the body, the Israel Defense Forces inspected the casket before draping it in an Israeli flag and holding a short ceremony led by a military rabbi.
The remains were then brought across the border early Saturday, with police escorting the casket to the Abu Kabir forensic institute in Tel Aviv for identification, a process which officials have said may take up to two days.

The IDF said the Red Thingy collected the casket from Hamas in southern Gaza’s Khan Younis, where footage and images from earlier Friday showed Hamas operatives digging in the Hamad Town residential complex, with Arab media naming a hostage whose body was apparently buried in a tunnel in the area.
According to Channel 12 news, the IDF expects Hamas to return the bodies of further hostages next week.
Israel has accused Hamas of withholding at least some of the bodies deliberately, while the terror group insists that it cannot locate them due to the level of destruction in Gaza.
According to Axios, the visit is set to come amid growing discomfort in Israel over what is perceived to be Hamas foot-dragging over the return of the bodies of hostages that are still held in Gaza, and with the terror group killing and arresting members of rival groups in the Strip.
"We think Hamas is holding between seven to ten bodies that it can return at any minute. They choose not to do it and are creating a crisis," an unnamed senior Israeli official told the outlet.

Axios and the Kan public broadcaster reported that the US told Israel that the issue of the hostages’ bodies should not be used as an excuse to impose sanctions or impact the implementation of unnamed next steps in the deal. While Israel has threatened sanctions such as reducing the entry of aid into the Strip, it has not taken action, Kan noted.

AFAD personnel are experienced in operating under extreme conditions, having responded to numerous natural disasters, including the devastating earthquake in southeastern Turkey in February 2023, which claimed over 53,000 lives.
The Ottoman Turkish official notes that the team’s mission includes locating both Paleostinian and Israeli bodies, including hostages believed to be buried or hidden in collapsed structures.
However,

"This situation is expected to complicate search operations and delay progress," the official said, adding that Hamas is expected to provide location data related to hostages.

Loved ones reported that Eliyahu left his home early that Saturday morning to feed his beloved horses in the kibbutz stable and that his horses were also taken along with him.
Eliyahu was responsible for many years for the kibbutz’s cattle.
Following the return of Margalit’s body, 18 bodies of dead captives still remain in the Gaza Strip after 28 were held there at the start of the current ceasefire.

[IsraelTimes] The IDF acknowledges that it opened fire on “suspects” in the Hebron area yesterday, in response to a Times of Israel inquiry regarding reports of an 11-year-old boy being shot and killed by Israeli troops in the village of al-Rihiya, south of Hebron in the southern West Bank.
“Yesterday, during an operational activity in the area of al-Rihiya, in the Judea Brigade, disturbances and stone-throwing were directed at IDF forces,” the military says. “The forces responded with fire toward the stone-throwing suspects and hits were identified.”
The military does not directly acknowledge the reports that an 11-year-old boy was killed, saying only that “the incident is under investigation” and that no troops were hurt.
Reports yesterday identified the victim as Mohammad Bahjat Al-Hallaq.
According to the official Palestinian Authority news agency, Al-Hallaq had been playing soccer on a school playground with a group of friends when troops opened fire on them. He was struck in the pelvis and rushed to hospital in critical condition, where he was pronounced dead.

The operatives had "posed an imminent threat" to the forces, and they were targeted "in accordance with the deal," the military says.
Additionally, several terror operatives emerged from a tunnel in the Rafah area and opened fire on Israeli troops, the IDF said, adding that no injuries were caused in the incident.
In another incident, the IDF said it targeted a vehicle that crossed the so-called Yellow Line — to which the military withdrew under the terms of the ceasefire — in Gaza City’s Zeitoun neighborhood.
The "suspicious vehicle" had been identified crossing the line and approaching Israeli forces in the area, the army said.
According to the IDF, warning shots were fired toward the car. After it continued to approach troops, "in a way that threatened them," the forces struck the vehicle "to remove the threat," the military said.
Paleostinian media reports that the vehicle was carrying displaced Paleostinians seeking to return to their homes.

Hamas health authorities said 11 members of a family were killed, including seven children and three women.
The IDF has repeatedly warned Paleostinians not to enter areas in Gaza currently under Israeli control or approach troops. Defense Minister Israel Katz said Friday that he instructed the military to place physical markers along the Yellow Line so that the boundaries of IDF control are clearly visible.
He said the markers will serve as a warning to "Hamas hard boyz and Gaza residents that any violation or attempt to cross the line will be met with fire."
The Yellow Line, as drawn out by mediators, encompasses over half of the Strip’s territory, or 53% — most of which is outside of urban areas. In reality, the IDF is not holding all of that territory with ground troops, with many of its posts positioned closer to the Israeli border.
In potential future phases of the ceasefire deal, the IDF will further pull back its troops in the Strip.

[IsraelTimes] Two more attempts to smuggle weapons and other contraband into Israel from Egypt, using drones, were foiled this morning, the military says.
The IDF says that in the pre-dawn hours, troops located a drone after it crossed the border and was downed, and found it to be ferrying two assault rifles, magazines and ammunition.
A second drone was found this morning with other unspecified contraband, the IDF adds.
Earlier today, the IDF said overnight it captured another drone with two assault rifles.
