He was really surprised when he commited suiciede in jail... —a fact that has never before been publicly acknowledged by a sitting congressional leader.
"What Trump is referring to is the hoax that the Democrats ...every time you hear the phrase white people, white supremacy,white anything but paint, you're listening to a Democrat. Ask him/her/it to reimagine something for you; they do that a lot, though not well. They can hear a dog whistle a mile or two away. They invented the spoils system and Tammany Hall, and inspired the addition of the word (Thomas) Nasty to the English language. They want to stop continental drift and repeal the law of unintended side effects... are using to try to attack him," Johnson said. "He has never said or suggested or implied—I’ve talked to him about this many times, many times. He is horrified. It’s been misrepresented. He’s not saying that what Epstein did is a hoax. It’s a terrible, unspeakable evil. He believes that himself."
Johnson then dropped the bombshell revelation.
"When he first heard the rumor, he kicked him out of Mar-a-Lago. He was an FBI informant to try to take this stuff down," Johnson said, appearing to confirm for the first time that Trump had assisted federal authorities in building a case against Epstein.
The speaker emphasized that Epstein's crimes had long disgusted Trump. "The president knows and has great sympathy for the women who have suffered these unspeakable harms. It’s detestable to him. He and I have spoken about this as recently as 24 hours ago," Johnson explained. "What he’s talking about is the Democrats who are doing this with impure motives. If they cared so much about this, why didn’t they do something during the four years of the Biden administration when the Biden DOJ had all the records? They didn’t say a word about it. Now, they’re doing it for political purposes. Not everybody, but a lot of them, and that’s what the President’s frustrated about."
For Johnson, Trump’s rhetoric mirrors his past experiences with partisan attacks. "They’re creating a hoax, just like they did with the Russian dossier, because they think it’s going to somehow be mud thrown on him. It’s not. He has no culpability in this thing at all. The president has clean hands. He wants all the records out. He has told me that himself."
Raju pressed Johnson on whether Trump should meet with Epstein’s victims, a question that has been raised by critics who argue that the president needs to show more direct support for survivors. Johnson suggested such a meeting was not out of the question. "I suspect he probably will. Yeah, he has great compassion for them," the speaker said. "The President has a very compassionate heart. He hates the fact that these women suffered those wrongs. He hates what Epstein is accused of and who he was."
Johnson continued, highlighting Trump’s early decision to sever ties with Epstein. "When he recognized that, he realized Epstein wasn’t just some sort of, you know, socialite. He was an evil person, and, you know, alleged to have been involved in evil schemes. And the president distanced himself, before he was president, from that because that’s not who he is. And I think he’s being falsely accused and maligned, and that’s a frustration of all of ours. That’s what he’s talking about when he says it’s a hoax."

Trump volunteered all the info that he had on Jeff to the Feds. Johnson mischaracterized that into something that it is not. Trump was not an FBI informant.

House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer, R-Ky., said his panel is wrapping up its investigation into President Joe Biden’s use of the autopen after a new report revealed concerns raised within the former administration itself.
"New records reveal President Biden’s own administration raised concerns about autopen use to grant thousands of pardons. This is a historic scandal with massive repercussions," Comer told Fox News Digital in response to the Axios report.
"As President Biden declined, his aides carried out executive actions without his approval, casting doubt on the legitimacy of thousands of pardons and other executive actions."
Comer added, "The House Oversight Committee is in the final stages of its investigation. There must be accountability for this scandal."
Axios reported over the weekend that senior Department of Justice (DOJ) officials flagged issues with Biden’s clemency process in his final days in office.
Biden approved nearly 2,500 commutations on Jan. 17, just days before leaving the White House, setting a record for most clemency orders ever granted by a U.S. president — more than 4,200 in total — and the most ever in a single day.
The next day, DOJ ethics lawyer Bradley Weinsheimer reportedly wrote in a memo: "Unfortunately and despite repeated requests and warnings, we were not afforded a reasonable opportunity to vet and provide input on those you were considering."
Noting that at least one murderer granted clemency had been flagged by DOJ, he added: "I have no idea if the president was aware of these backgrounds when making clemency decisions." The New York Post first reported details of the memo.
Meanwhile, Axios reported that a DOJ pardon attorney took issue with White House lawyers asking the department not to solicit views of murder victims' families of multiple death row inmates if it had not already done so — including people whose sentences Biden commuted as well.
The Axios report further revealed that Biden White House staff secretary Stef Feldman repeatedly sought clarity on the autopen process. In one Jan. 16 email, she asked for details on drug-related clemency orders approved by then-Chief of Staff Jeff Zients. After being asked to use autopen on an executive order, Feldman reportedly wrote: "When did we get [Biden's] approval of this?"

The “Restore Trust in Congress Act” would prohibit federal legislators from owning and trading individual stock, saying investments can cloud motivations and see elected officials profiting off of their positions.
The act brings together previously introduced legislation, including the “Restoring Faith in Government Act” put forward by Fitzpatrick earlier this year. The new bill reunites Fitzpatrick with a bipartisan group including New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a Democratic Socialist known for her fiery progressivism and Perry, known for his conservatism and close ties to President Donald Trump.
According to Fitzpatrick, 97 members traded stocks tied to industries their committees oversee between 2019 and 2021. Unusual Whales, a trading news site, found through analysis of public documents that “a quarter of Congress actively traded up to $788M in various assets through 12,700+ transactions in 2022.”

I don’t think legislation designed by Congress is going to restore trust. It will be full of loopholes and exceptions to public disclosure . Basically, they are designing their next scam. A dead giveaway is AOC’s involvement.

It seems to me it would be better to change the rules that define ethical behavior in the House and Senate rather than a legislative approach. A change in the leadership of the Ethics committees may be necessary. Also, the committees are bipartisan by design. Perhaps they need to be partisan for the sake of accountability.

The 6th century St Catherine's Monastery, run by the Greek Orthodox Church, is also there - and seemingly its monks will stay on now that Egyptian authorities, under Greek pressure, have denied wanting to close it.
However, there is still deep concern about how the long-isolated, desert location - a Unesco World Heritage site comprising the monastery, town and mountain - is being transformed. Luxury hotels, villas and shopping bazaars are under construction there.
It is also home to a traditional Bedouin community, the Jebeleya tribe. Already the tribe, known as the Guardians of St Catherine, have had their homes and tourist eco-camps demolished with little or no compensation. They have even been forced to take bodies out of their graves in the local cemetery to make way for a new car park.
Nothing outside the State. And anyway, the Bedouin aren’t important, while as Christians the monastery must hold itself in trust until their Moslem overlords reach out their hand to take it.
The project may have been presented as desperately needed sustainable development which will boost tourism, but it has also been imposed on the Bedouin against their will, says Ben Hoffler, a British travel writer who has worked closely with Sinai tribes.
"This is not development as the Jebeleya see it or asked for it, but how it looks when imposed top-down to serve the interests of outsiders over those of the local community," he told the BBC.
"A new urban world is being built around a Bedouin tribe of nomadic heritage," he added. "It's a world they have always chosen to remain detached from, to whose construction they did not consent, and one that will change their place in their homeland forever."
Locals, who number about 4,000, are unwilling to speak directly about the changes.
