[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] British forces carried out airstrikes on a Houthi military target in Yemen overnight, the Ministry of Defence has revealed.
The MoD said RAF Typhoons had joined in operation with US forces in targeting the Iran-backed group's drone-making facilities near the capital, Sanaa.
Several Typhoon FGR4s used Paveway IV precision guided bombs on a cluster of buildings used on facilities manufacturing drones like those used to target ships in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden in recent months.
The MoD said 'very careful planning had been completed to allow the targets to be prosecuted with minimal risk to civilians or non-military infrastructure'.
'We conducted these strikes, supported by the US, to degrade Houthi capabilities and prevent further attacks against UK and International shipping,' said Defence Secretary John Healey.
The strikes marked the UK's first involvement with America's new intense campaign targeting the group.
The campaign, called 'Operation Rough Rider,' has been targeting the rebels as the Trump administration negotiates with their main benefactor, Iran, over Tehran's rapidly advancing nuclear program.
The British offered no information on the damage done in the strike, nor whether it believed anyone had been killed.
The U.S. military's Central Command did not acknowledge the strike.
'The strike was conducted after dark, when the likelihood of any civilians being in the area was reduced yet further,' Britain's defence ministry said.
Mr Healey added that all UK aircraft and personnel involved had also safely returned to base.
'This government will always act in the interests of our national and economic security,' he said.
'Royal Air Force Typhoons have successfully conducted strikes against a Houthi military target in Yemen and all UK aircraft and personnel have returned safely to base.
He stressed that the Houthis' activities in the Red Sea were a 'persistent threat' to 'freedom of navigation'.
'A 55% drop in shipping through the Red Sea has already cost billions, fuelling regional instability and risking economic security for families in the UK,' he said.
'The Government is steadfast in our commitment to reinforcing global stability and protecting British working people.
'I am proud of the dedication and professionalism shown by the service men and women involved in this operation.'
The Houthis claim their actions are in response to Israel's war on Hamas in Gaza - an assertion dismissed by the UK and allies.
Britain has taken part in airstrikes alongside the U.S. since the Biden administration began its campaign of strikes targeting the Houthis back in January 2024.
The U.S. is conducting strikes on Yemen from its two aircraft carriers in the region - the USS Harry S. Truman in the Red Sea and the USS Carl Vinson in the Arabian Sea.
US forces have struck more than 1,000 targets in Yemen since Washington launched the latest round of its air campaign in mid-March, the Pentagon said Tuesday.
The joint U.K.-U.S. strike follows an alleged a U.S. airstrike on Monday that hit a prison holding African migrants, killing at least 68 people and wounding 47 others.
The U.S. military said it was investigating.
On April 18, an American strike on the Ras Isa fuel port killed at least 74 people and wounded 171 others in the deadliest-known attack of the American campaign.

From the Rantburg archives: the attacker was an illegal immigrant from Mauritania, Sidi Mohamed Abdallahi, 22, who had illegally entered America from Mexico in spring, 2023. Last October he went looking for a Jew to kill in the name of jihad, and in fact shouted “Allahu akhbar” several times during the subsequent brief shootout with police as they chased him down. Two months after this bodycam footage, he was found hanged in his jail cell while awaiting trial.
[GEO.TV] Amid ongoing tensions between the nuclear-armed arch-rivals over the deadly Pahalgam attack, Pakistain security forces delivered a robust response to India's unprovoked ceasefire violation along the Line of Control (LoC), military sources said on Wednesday.
Pakistain security forces destroyed an Indian checkpost after late-night aggression on April 29-30.
According to security officials, Indian troops breached the ceasefire agreement by resorting to unprovoked small arms fire in the Kiani and Mandal sectors. The Pakistain Army retaliated with precision, neutralising the threat and silencing Indian forces.

[GEO.TV] Thick smoke billowed above highways near Jerusalem as firefighters rushed to control wildfires that have injured several people and prompted the military to deploy troops to help.
Israel's Magen David Adom rescue agency reported that hundreds of civilians were at risk from the worst brushfires in years. It said the alert level had been raised to the highest tier.
A resident said: "It's just very sad because we knew the weather, we kind of knew that would happen and still we feel like they weren't ready enough with the big planes that can drop large amounts of water."
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned that "the western wind can push the fire easily towards the outskirts of (Jerusalem), and even into the city itself".
"We need to bring as many fire engines as possible and create firebreaks well beyond the current fire lines... We are now in a national emergency, not just a local one. The priority right now is defending Jerusalem," he added in a video statement.

[IsraelTimes] Israeli forces encircle town near Nablus where soldiers were struck by explosive while carrying out routine patrol; IDF arrests Palestinian journalist for alleged Islamic Jihad ties
Two IDF reservists were maimed, one of them seriously, in a roadside kaboom on Wednesday near the northern West Bank town of Beita, close to Nablus, the military announced.
The soldiers of the Ephraim Regional Brigade’s 9221st Reserve Battalion were carrying out a routine patrol in Beita when they were hit by an explosive.
Both soldiers were taken to a hospital for treatment.
The Israel Defense Forces said troops encircled the town and were operating in the area to locate the assailants behind the attack.
Earlier Wednesday, the military announced the arrest of Ali Samoudi, a well-known journalist, in an overnight raid in Jenin in the northern West Bank. Samoudi previously worked for international outlets including CNN ...formerly the Cable News Network, now who know what it might stand for... and Al Jazeera. In 2022, he was injured in the same spray of gunfire that killed prominent Paleostinian journalist Shireen Abu Akleh. The military has acknowledged the bullet that killed her was "in very high likelihood" shot from an IDF gun and apologized for her death, but firmly rejected allegations that the veteran journalist was deliberately targeted.
The IDF said that Samoudi was affiliated with and transferred funds for the Paleostinian Islamic Jihad ...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah... group, without providing evidence.
Samoudi was later taken to a hospital by Israeli forces, according to his son, who told The News Agency that Dare Not be Named that his father needs daily medication for several chronic illnesses.
Dozens of Paleostinian journalists have been detained by the IDF since the Gazoo

[IsraelTimes] Police apprehend East Jerusalem man with lighter, cotton wool, flammable materials; right-wing officials urge West Bank lockdown amid Palestinian social media calls to start blazes
An arson suspect was arrested Wednesday, as authorities were probing whether major brush fires west of Jerusalem were started intentionally and as calls appeared on Paleostinian social media to start more blazes. However,
today is that tomorrow you were thinking about yesterday... authorities said Wednesday evening it was too early to determine the cause of the fires.
A 50-year-old resident of East Jerusalem’s Umm Tuba neighborhood was arrested on suspicion of attempting to set fire to vegetation in southern Jerusalem, police said.
Law enforcement carried out the arrest after receiving a tip that someone had seen a person attempting to start a fire, a police front man said. The suspect was detained for questioning at the Oz cop shoppe in East Jerusalem.
Police said the suspect attempted to flee from coppers but was nabbed after a brief pursuit. Cops said they found a lighter, cotton wool and other flammable materials on his person.
The arrest coincided with calls made by Paleostinians on social media to carry out arson attacks on Israel during the country’s Independence Day, whose eve coincided this year with a heatwave combined with strong winds that caused the blazes to spiral out of control and resulted in many communities being evacuated and many festive events being called off.
One message on the Paleostinian channel Shehab, which is affiliated with Hamas ..the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,... , said: "There are popular calls to set fire to forests near the settlements." Hamas considers all Jewish communities in Israel and the West Bank, both within and beyond the Green Line, to be settlements.
Another message circulated on X across several accounts stated: "Your role is to set fire to gardens, vehicles and everything around the settlements."
Responding to the incitement on social media, Zvi Sukkot, a far-right politician from the Religious Zionism party, sent a letter to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu calling on him to order that a curfew and lockdown be imposed on Paleostinian villages in the West Bank.
"There is a real concern, based on past experience, that Paleostinians will try to ignite more fires in Judea and Samaria and throughout Israel... To prevent such occurrences, a curfew must be imposed immediately on Judea and Samaria, and a blockade must be imposed on the Paleostinian villages," Sukkot wrote, using the West Bank’s biblical name.
Similar calls were issued by settler leader Yossi Dagan, the head of the Samaria Regional Council, and by Likud MK Dan Illouz.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Netanyahu was receiving updates and conducting assessments of the firefighting efforts and speaking regularly with National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir and firefighting and security officials.
The Shin Bet domestic security agency, which is typically tasked with counterterrorism efforts, said in a statement that it was also taking part in the investigation.
The agency is assisting the police with locating other suspects who may have sparked some of the blazes.

Iran does not recognize Israel and is sworn to its destruction. Tehran supports anti-Israeli terror groups across the region, such as Hezbollah and Hamas ..the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,... .
