Morocco boat tragedy: Probe initiated against 20 FIA officials over ''involvement in human smuggling''
[GEO.TV] After at least 44 Paks reportedly bit the dust in the Morocco migrant boat tragedy, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has kicked off a probe against its 20 officials who had allegedly cleared travel documents of victims at three major airports.

The development came after the federal government launched a high-level probe into the tragic boat incident in Morocco wherein dozens of Pak migrants colonists drowned while attempting to reach Spain from West Africa earlier this month.

In a statement on Saturday, an FIA spokesperson said that the agency initiated a probe against its 20 officials over suspicions of their involvement in human smuggling. It added that the officials had allegedly cleared the victims of the ill-fated boat at airports.

The unfortunate incident occurred on January 16 when a boat carrying irregular migrants colonists from the African nation of Mauritania to Spain capsized. 50 migrants colonists, including 44 Paks, were presumed dead.

Although, as many as 36 Pak citizens were rescued, the rest still remain missing which, as per a report from the Pak Embassy, should be presumed dead.

The ill-fated boat departed from Mauritania on January 2 with 86 migrants colonists on board. Moroccan authorities reported that 66 of the passengers were Pak nationals and noted that it had rescued 36 people after the accident.

The suspected FIA officials include eight from Faisalabad
...formerly known as Lyallpur, the third largest metropolis in Pakistain, the second largest in Punjab after Lahore. It is named after some Arab because the Paks didn't have anybody notable of their own to name it after...
airport and six each from Bloody Karachi
...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...

and Lahore airports. The agency also revealed that Mauritania was the "third and new route" for human smuggling after The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
and Libya.

Separately, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar also issued instructions for coordination of the government's response and asked the ministries of foreign affairs and interior to ensure the provision of efficient and timely assistance to the Pak victims of Moroccan boat tragedy.

Yemeni missile strikes hit vital Israeli targets in Umm al-Rashrash; UPDATE: Or not, yet again
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] The Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
i Armed Forces have announced two precise military operations targeting critical locations in the Umm al-Rashrash area of southern occupied Paleostine.
That is to say, in Eilat in southern Israel, as they’ve been for about three quarters of a century.
The Yemeni Armed Forces Issued the following statement:

''In support of the oppressed Paleostinian people and their fighters, and in response to the recent massacres committed against our brothers in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with a rusty iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
, and as part of the fifth phase of support in the battle of the Promised Conquest and Holy Jihad:

The Missile Force of the Yemeni Armed Forces, with the grace of Allah, conducted two military operations targeting two strategic sites belonging to the ''Israeli'' enemy in the Umm al-Rashrash region of southern occupied Paleostine.

The first operation was carried out using a ballistic missile of the Thulfiqar type.

The second operation utilized a cruise missile.

Both operations successfully hit their targets, by Allah's grace.

The Yemeni Armed Forces reaffirm their commitment to stand alongside the Paleostinian resistance in Gaza, coordinating military actions to respond appropriately to any violations or escalations committed by the ''Israeli'' enemy during the ceasefire implementation period.''

The only information I can find on this in the Times of Israel, Jerusalem Post, Ynet, and Israel National News as of 12:30 a.m. ET is this single liveblog entry of the Houthi claims made above. No reports of missile sirens going off, and nothing at all about anywhere in Israel being hit.
Update: Found it:
Ballistic missile from Yemen intercepted after Eilat sirens

[IsraelTimes] The IDF says one ballistic missile launched at Israel from Yemen was successfully intercepted by air defenses.

Sirens had sounded in the southernmost city of Eilat and nearby towns.

There are no immediate reports of injuries or major damage.

It marks the second Houthi attack today after a missile fired earlier at central Israel was shot down.

Houthis claim ballistic missile strike on Israeli Defense Ministry building
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Yemeni Houthis launched a ballistic missile attack on the Israeli Defense Ministry building in Tel Aviv, Ansar Allah military spokesman Yahya Saria said on Saturday, January 18.

The missile reached its target with high accuracy, and Israeli air defense systems were unable to shoot it down, Saria wrote on his Telegram channel.
Sure they did — just like all the other times.
“The Yemeni armed forces’ missile forces (…) carried out a military operation (…) on the so-called Israeli enemy’s Ministry of Defense in the occupied area of Jaffa (Tel Aviv. – Ed.),” the statement said.

Also on January 18, Saria said that the Houthis are coordinating their actions with Palestinian movements and are ready to “take appropriate military measures” if Israel violates the ceasefire agreements in the Gaza Strip.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, on January 15, during negotiations between Israel and Hamas with the participation of mediators, an agreement was reached on a temporary truce in the Gaza Strip. It will be in effect for 42 days, starting on January 19.

According to media reports, the agreement will be implemented in three stages. First, the Israeli army will begin withdrawing troops from Gaza, and Hamas will release 33 hostages. In the second stage, the remaining Israeli prisoners should be released, and Israel will completely withdraw its troops from Gaza and release more than 1,000 Palestinian prisoners. In the third stage, the bodies of the dead should be exchanged, and then reconstruction work in Gaza is supposed to begin under the supervision of Egypt, Qatar and the UN.

Russia hopes that the ceasefire agreement between Hamas and the Israeli authorities will lead to stabilization of the situation in the Gaza Strip, President Vladimir Putin said on January 17.

Scotland Yard ''arrests'' PTI supporter over TikTok threats to PM Shehbaz, Sharif family
[GEO.TV] Scotland Yard has reportedly arrested Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporter Gulfam Hussain Kayani for threatening to harm Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, former premier Nawaz Sharif and other members of the Sharif family — live on TikTok.

In one of the recent TikTok broadcasts, Kayani has also threatened to blow up the Avenfield apartments.

While speaking to his TikTok followers, he threatened that he will practically "drag" members of the Sharif family on London streets and that he will "avenge" PTI founder Imran Khan if he is harmed in Pakistan.

Kayani has also criticised Pakistan's military leadership.

Scotland Yard sources confirmed the arrest. It's understood that Kayani's arrest warrants were issued around a week ago.

He was arrested late on Friday night at the gates of the Avenfield apartments, soon after Khan's conviction in 190 million case. At that time, Kayani was live on TikTok and interacting with his followers.

#1  So, was he in a rape gang?

British-Pakistani judge hands jail terms to West Yorkshire grooming gang members
[GEO.TV] British-Pak Judge Ahmed Nadim has sentenced three men from Keighley who were part of a West Yorkshire grooming gang in the late 1990s for rape at Bradford Crown Court.

Overall, a group of eight men, who were part of the grooming gang have been jugged
Drop the heater, Studs, or you're hist'try!
, BBC reported.

Three of those included Ibrar Hussain, 47, and brothers Imtiaz Ahmed, 62, and Fayaz Ahmed, 45 were sentenced for rape by the court a day ago.

The court convicted the men after finding them guilty of non-recent sexual offences on a girl following a trial in November and December 2024.

Five other men had been jugged
Drop the heater, Studs, or you're hist'try!
last year for their involvement in the sexual assault.

According to the prosecution, the grooming gang members had raped a 13-year-old girl in West Yorkshire in 1990.

Hussain and Imtiaz and Fayaz were all sentenced for raping one of the girls, who was aged between 13 and 14 when the offences took place, the report said.

Hussain was jugged
Drop the heater, Studs, or you're hist'try!
for six-and-a-half years for two counts of rape, whereas, Imtiaz for nine years in his absence for one count of rape and Fayaz was given seven-and-a-half years imprisonment in his absence for two counts of rape.

Imtiaz and Fayaz had absconded during a retrial last year and were believed to be abroad, the court heard.
So their real sentence is banishment, which is somewhat better than nothing. Though I would have preferred full castration and solitary confinement for life, those are not things England does anymore.
After sentencing the three men, Judge Nadim expressed hope that the sentences gave the victims "comfort of knowing that their voices at long last have been heard".

"They have had to tread a painful and arduous path. I commend them both for their courage and steadfastness," he said.

After the hearing, West Yorkshire Police stated in a statement that five men have received the following sentences after the first trial which concluded on October 20, 2023:

  • Amreaz Asghar 47 of Keighley was jugged
Drop the heater, Studs, or you're hist'try!
for 4 and a half years for rape

  • Perwaz Asghar 50 of Nottingham was jugged
Drop the heater, Studs, or you're hist'try!
for 6 and a half years for two indecent assaults

  • Mohammed Din 47 of Keighley was jugged
Drop the heater, Studs, or you're hist'try!
for 14 years for 11 counts of rape

  • Sajid Mahmood Khan 45 of Keighley was jugged
Drop the heater, Studs, or you're hist'try!
    for 3 years for rape.

  • Zehroon Razak 47 of Keighley was jugged
Drop the heater, Studs, or you're hist'try!
for 6 and a half years for rape

Pointing towards the recent verdict, the force said that the second trial was concluded on December 13, 2024, in which one man was convicted of child sex offences and two other men were also convicted but the trial was held in their absence.

Earlier this month, the National Police Chiefs' Council (NPCC) said that the vast majority of sexual grooming gang offences are carried out by white men.
Possibly true. But we have no way of knowing, when most such offenses by “Asians” have been actively covered up.
The statement came after X billionaire owner Elon Musk published several posts making false accusations against British-Pak men.
Sorry, O GEO reporter, but those accusations are true. You are part of the cover-up.
New figures from the police database show that, where ethnicity data was available, 85% of ''group-based'' child abusers were white in the first three quarters of 2024. The same data for the whole of 2023 showed 83% of offenders were white.
And where ethnicity data was deliberately not recorded by the police? Or the crimes themselves were not recorded by the police? One must always understand statistics in context, you know. That’s what good reporters strive always to do, unlike propagandists.

Over 20 anti-Israel demonstrators arrested in London for violating protest restrictions
[IsraelTimes] Police have arrested more than 20 protesters at a Paleostine Solidarity Campaign (PSC) protest in central London after they violated police orders meant to contain the demonstration.

Police had ordered organizers to keep the protest confined to the area of Whitehall, away from nearby Portland Place and Russell Square, where the Central Synagogue is located.

However,
ars longa, vita brevis...
protesters carrying signs with antisemitic messages violated the orders and proceeded toward Trafalgar Square, where 20-30 were arrested.

imposed by the police on today’s protest. Frontline officers acquitted themselves superbly in the face of extremely challenging circumstances, making numerous arrests across central London, but why had they been put in such a dangerous position by their superiors?

The Met’s Commissioner, Sir Mark Rowley, is learning what happens when you bend over backwards to accommodate Death Eaters for fifteen months and then dare to impose a minor restriction. For over a year we have called for these marches to be banned; we reiterated that call yesterday when it was clear that the police would not be able to control the situation. Police authorised a static protest for activists who repeatedly declared, ’#WeWillMarch’. The result was chaos in London.

What happened today was not a case of a few bad apples. It is time that the organisers of the protest, several of whom appeared to be involved in trying to break the police lines and defy the conditions, finally be arrested and their organizations’ future demonstrations must be contained as static rallies. Anything short of that would broadcast the message that the police have lost control of law and order in our nation’s capital, or, worse still, that some people are above the law, and some forms of extremism are acceptable.

For more than a year, PSC has conducted weekly marches from near the BBC’s Broadcasting House to Whitehall, bringing antisemitic rhetoric and threats to the door of London’s Central Synagogue. These marches are timed to threaten Jewish families leaving the synagogue after Shabbat services, the non-profit organization Campaign Against Antisemitism says.

During the past week, the Metropolitan Police ordered PSC to keep its weekly march confined to the Whitehall area alone to avoid confrontation. However,
ars longa, vita brevis...
protest organizers threatened to flout the order, saying on X, "If they refuse to do so and prevent us from marching, we will rally on Whitehall in protest."

"This is a dark day for London," Campaign Against Antisemitism (CAM) says on X following the protest. "Not only did we see the usual antisemitic bile and open support for Jew-hating terrorist organizations to which our nation’s capital has become accustomed, but Death Eaters repeatedly breached the modest restrictions imposed by the police on today’s protest."

"What happened today was not a case of a few bad apples. It is time that the organizers of the protest, several of whom appeared to be involved in trying to break the police lines and defy the conditions, finally be arrested and their organizations’ future demonstrations must be contained as static rallies," CAM says.

Dagestan resident convicted of involvement with terrorists
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Without mentioning the name of the terrorist organization, but mentioning that the terrorist organization is listed on Russia's list of terrorist organizations.

[KavkazUzel] The court sentenced a resident of Dagestan to 12 years in prison, recognizing him as a member of a terrorist organization.

The Southern District Military Court sentenced a resident of Dagestan to 12 years in a maximum security penal colony, recognizing him as a member of an international organization that is recognized as terrorist in Russia, Interfax reported on January 17, citing the republic's FSB Directorate.

"The investigation established that a resident of Dagestan, sharing the ideology of radical Islam, provided financial support to members of an international terrorist organization who were abroad and taking part in an armed conflict," the agency quotes the department as saying.

The man was found guilty under Part 2 of Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (participation in the activities of a terrorist organization). His name and the name of the terrorist organization were not given in the publication. As of 16:37 Moscow time on January 18, no message about this verdict was published on the court's website or Telegram channel.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Sunday a.m.: Planned start time of ceasefire passes without Hamas sending names of hostages to be freed today, so IDF continues Gaza strikes
[IsraelTimes] As the planned start time of the ceasefire passes, Hamas has still not sent the list of three female hostages set to be released later today.

The ceasefire had been set to take effect at 8:30 a.m., but Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said earlier this morning it would not be implemented unless the terror group kept to the agreed terms and released the names of the three civilian women.

Under the terms of the deal, Hamas was required to provide the names of the hostages at least 24 hours ahead of their release — initially expected to be today at around 4:30 p.m.

However, the terror group has still not confirmed which three of the 97 hostages are slated for release, claiming the delay in handing over the names is due to “technical reasons.”

IDF: Hamas not abiding by hostage-ceasefire deal, military will continue to strike Gaza
[IsraelTimes] IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari in a press conference says the military is continuing to strike in the Gaza Strip, as Hamas is not abiding by the ceasefire agreement.

“As of this morning, Hamas is not fulfilling its obligations, and contrary to the agreement has not given Israel the names of the hostages [set for release today],” he says.

“Per the directive of the prime minister, the ceasefire will not take effect as long as Hamas is not fulfilling its obligations. The IDF is continuing to strike now in Gaza, as long as Hamas is not fulfilling its obligations to the deal,” Hagari says.

Shortly before midnight Israel Time last night:
Hamas said to blame ‘technical reasons’ for delay in providing names of hostages
[IsraelTimes] With Hamas still yet to provide a list of names of the first hostages it will free after the ceasefire deal starts tomorrow at 8:30 a.m., a source in the terror group claims to the Ynet news site that the delay is due to “technical reasons.”

According to the source, Hamas operatives communicate “physically via emissaries and it takes time to agree on the names and the location of the hostages when IDF planes are still above them.”

“The list will only come out after the approval of Hamas leader Muhammad Sinwar,” the source adds.
Prediction: Technically, they have no idea who has those three, or where they are, right. Either that, or they know but their prize living hostages suddenly were discovered to be very long — or very recently — deader than doornails, and Allah is not i tervning to save their captors from the wrath of Bibi and almost-President OrangeManBad.

Trump: Hostage deal ‘better hold,’ I told Netanyahu ‘do what you have to do — this has to end’
[IsraelTimes] US President-elect Donald Trump says the ceasefire and hostage release deal “better hold,” as he’s asked by NBC News’ “Meet the Press” if he’s confident the Israeli captives held by Hamas will soon be freed.

“Well, we’re going to see very soon, and it better hold,” Trump says during the phone interview.

Trump says he told Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, “Just keep doing what you have to do. You have to have — this has to end. We want it to end, but to keep doing what has to be done.”

He adds that he and the Israeli premier will be meeting “fairly shortly,” without elaborating.

#3  Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir resigns in opposition to cease-fire
Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir resigned from his role in Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's cabinet in opposition to the cease-fire on Sunday.

"With us, a word is a word, we will not agree to a reckless deal," Ben-Gvir said on X.

He also said that far-right Otzma Yehudit political party members submitted their resignations.

Ben-Gvir oversaw the Israel’s police force. He used his influence to encourage Netanyahu to press ahead with the war in Gaza and recently boasted that he had blocked past efforts to reach a ceasefire.

Strip, Israeli troops recovered the body of soldier Staff Sgt. Oron Shaul, who was killed and captured by Hamas
..not a terrorist organization, even though it kidnaps people, holds hostages, and tries to negotiate by executing them,...
in 2014, the military announces.

The operation to recover the body was carried out jointly by the IDF and the Shin Bet security agency, with several special forces units including the Navy’s Shayetet 13 commando unit and another elite force in the Military Intelligence Directorate.

The IDF does not detail when the operation happened, or in which part of Gaza the body was found.

Shaul’s body was brought back to Israel and taken to the Abu Kabir Forensic Institute where it was identified. His family was then informed.

On July 20, 2014, amid the 2014 Gaza War, troops of the Golani Brigade’s 13th Battalion entered Gaza City’s Shejaiya neighborhood in an M-113 armored personnel carrier. The APC got stuck in one of the neighborhood’s narrow streets, and during attempts to extract it, it came under attack by Hamas operatives launching anti-tank missiles.

Seven soldiers were killed in the incident, including Shaul, whose body was dragged away from the scene by Hamas operatives.

Release of Zionists held in Gaza will happen in periodic phases — Hodhod Yemen News Agency
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] A senior Hamas

leader revealed to al-Mayadeen that the release of prisoners held by the Israeli occupation will be carried out in phases, as part of the ceasefire agreement.

According to the source, the release of all prisoners detained after October 7, including Hezbollah fighters, will be postponed to the second phase.
Hezbollah fighters? When did they get added?
The source confirmed that the first phase of the ceasefire agreement would involve the release of detainees who were imprisoned prior to the October 7 escalation, known as ''Al-Aqsa Flood.'' Additionally, the first phase will see the release of women, children, and civilians who were detained during the recent conflict.

The senior Hamas figure also noted that the prisoner release will be part of broader preparations taking place in Cairo to implement the ceasefire agreement. These efforts are being coordinated by Egyptian, Qatar

The source also highlighted that in the first phase, 30 Paleostinian women and kiddies will be released in exchange for each female and child detainee held by Hamas. Additionally, 30 elderly and sick Paleostinian prisoners will be released in return for each elderly and sick Israeli detainee (aged 50 and above).

Gaza municipality plans to reopen roads as truce takes effect
[GEO.TV] The Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
municipality has said it presented a plan to reopen some of Gaza's main roads as the ceasefire deal goes into effect on Sunday, reported Al Jazeera.

The plan will be implemented gradually and in cooperation with its partners.

''The municipality stressed the need to strengthen partnership with local and international institutions to ensure the provision of basic services and support reconstruction efforts in the city,'' it said in a statement.

Israeli army issues instructions to Gaza ahead of ceasefire
[GEO.TV] The Israeli military's Arabic-language spokesperson Avichay Adraee has issued a statement addressed to the people of Gaza that contains instructions for Sunday, when the ceasefire will go into effect, according to Al Jazeera.

Here are the main points:

  • Moving from the south to the north of the Gaza Strip or towards the Netzarim Corridor remains dangerous in light of the military activities in the area. Once movement is permitted, instructions will be given.
  • The Israeli army will remain deployed in specific areas of the Gaza Strip. You must not approach its officers until further notice and doing so could expose you to danger.
  • It is dangerous to approach the Rafah crossing, the Philadelphi Corridor and all areas in southern Gaza where Israeli forces are deployed.
  • In the coastal area along the Strip, fishing, swimming and diving is dangerous and we warn against entering the sea in the coming days.
  • It is forbidden to approach Israeli territory and the buffer zone. Approaching the buffer zone is very dangerous.

Thousands rally at Hostages Square before deal starts: ‘Finally beginning to see the light’, 3 arrested for attacking cops
[IsraelTimes] Thousands of people flock to Hostages Square in Tel Aviv for the weekly rally urging the release of the captives, some 12 hours before the Gaza ceasefire-hostage deal is set to take effect.

Freed hostage Amit Soussana, who was released during a weeklong truce in November 2023, says that she “didn’t think for a moment that the deal didn’t include everyone and that the fighting could resume.”

She says she watched all the releases on a television in Gaza during that truce agreement.

“I didn’t know when I would get out, and still I was so happy for every hostage who was released,” she says.

“When I was released, I left behind people I love,” she says. “We can’t do that to them again. They won’t survive it.”

“Today we are finally beginning to see the light, but true victory, and a recovery for all of us, can start only once the last of the hostages comes back home,” she adds.

The deal will see 33 hostages released in the first “humanitarian” phase of the agreement. The remaining 65 hostages are to be released over the deal’s next phases.

“The agreement has to include everyone,” says Soussana. “We must formulate the second and third phases now and make sure nobody is left behind.”

Soussana, who has spoken publicly about the sexual assault she endured in captivity, tells the audience that the three women expected to be released on Sunday “must not return to a divided society.”

“The return will be hard, but I know life trumps everything,” she says.

Ofri Bibas Levi, sister of hostage Yarden Bibas, marks the second birthday of Yarden’s son Kfir, the youngest hostage in Gaza.

“I try to draw comfort from the thought that this year, Kfir’s birthday is the date when the agreement will finally be ratified,” she says. “This day will become a symbol of hope, a new beginning, for the rehabilitation and the recovery of an entire nation.”

She notes that the family has for the past year been searching for the purple toy elephant that Kfir can be seen clutching in a now iconic photo of him.

“To us the elephant symbolizes Kfir, the life that was, normalcy, the childhood that was stolen,” she says.

“This week — with painful timing — the elephant has finally been found.”

Police say 3 arrested at Jerusalem protest against hostage-ceasefire deal last night

[IsraelTimes] Police in Jerusalem say they arrested three people last night for allegedly attacking police at a protest against the hostage-ceasefire deal with Hamas that was held near the entrance to the city.

According to a police spokesman, protesters threw stones at officers on duty, lightly injuring a Border Police officer. Cops also confiscated a bottle containing flammable material from one of the participants.

Last night’s protest marked the fourth time right-wing demonstrators have blocked traffic under Chords Bridge since the ceasefire was announced Wednesday.

“Seeing that the rioters disregarded police orders, the officers took immediate action to contain and disperse those disrupting the peace to restore order,” says the spokesperson.

Man seriously hurt in Tel Aviv stabbing; Palestinian terrorist shot dead
[IsraelTimes] The terrorist, a West Bank resident in Israel illegally, assaults people at eatery on Levontin Street before being neutralized.

A Paleostinian stabbed a man in central Tel Aviv Saturday afternoon, seriously injuring him, before being shot and killed by an armed civilian.

Police said the stabbing on Levontin Street was a terror attack. The victim, a man in his 30s, was taken to Ichilov Hospital at death's door.

The terrorist was identified as Salah Yahye, 19, from the West Bank city of Tulkarem.

He was in Israel illegally, according to defense sources. Medics say he was rubbed out at the scene.

The suspected attack was initially described as "a shooting incident," apparently due to the shots fired by the civilian at the terrorist.

Surveillance camera video showed the terrorist attacking a group of people standing on the sidewalk outside an eatery in the coastal city. The attacker can be seen in the footage fleeing the scene, after which he was rubbed out.

The video presented below has been blurred for privacy purposes.

A statement from the police said they were still looking into the circumstances of the incident and that a large number of officers were on the scene.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Gunman shoots dead 2 judges in Iran’s capital tied to 1988 mass executions
If that’s the connection, that’s a revenge measured in degrees Kelvin. Brrrrrr…
[IsraelTimes] Assailant said to kill himself after attack at high-security Palace of Justice in Tehran; bodyguard also wounded

A man fatally shot two prominent hard-line judges in Iran’s capital Saturday, officials said, both of whom allegedly took part in the mass execution of dissidents in 1988.

No group immediately grabbed credit for the shootings of the judges, holy mans Mohammad Mogheiseh and Ali Razini. However,
a person who gets all wrapped up in himself makes a mighty small package...
Razini’s involvement in the 1988 executions had likely made him a target in the past, including an liquidation attempt in 1999.

Their killings, a rare attack targeting the judiciary, also come as Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
faces economic turmoil, the mauling of its Mideast allies by Israel and the return of Donald Trump
...The cad! Twice caught beating wimmin!...
to the White House on Monday.

Both holy mans served on Iran’s Supreme Court, the state-run IRNA news agency reported. A bodyguard for one of the judges also was maimed in the attack at the Palace of Justice in Tehran, which also serves as the headquarters of the country’s judiciary and typically has tight security.

The attacker, who was armed with a handgun, killed himself, IRNA said.

"According to initial investigations, the person in question did not have a case in the Supreme Court nor was he a client of the branches of the court," the judiciary’s Mizan news agency said. "Currently, investigations have been launched to identify and arrest the perpetrators of this terrorist act."

Asghar Jahangir, a front man for Iran’s judiciary, separately told Iranian state television
... and if you can't believe state television who can you believe?
that the shooter had been an "infiltrator," suggesting he had worked at the courthouse where the killings took place.

Unlike the US Supreme Court, the Iranian Supreme Court has many branches spread across the country. It is the highest court in Iran and can hear appeals on decisions made by lower courts.

Razini had been targeted previously. In January 1999, attackers on cycle of violences hurled an explosive at his vehicle, wounding him as he left work as the head of the judiciary in Tehran.

Mogheiseh had been under sanctions from the US Treasury since 2019. At the time, the Treasury described him as having "overseen countless unfair trials, during which charges went unsubstantiated and evidence was disregarded."

"He is notorious for sentencing scores of journalists and internet users to lengthy prison terms," the Treasury said. Mogheiseh had pressed charges against members of Iran’s Baha’i minority "after they reportedly held prayer and worship ceremonies with other members," the Treasury said.

Both men had been named by activists and exiles as taking part in the 1988 executions, which came at the end of Iran’s long war with Iraq. After Iran’s then-Supreme Leader Ruhollah Khomeini accepted a UN-brokered ceasefire, members of the exiled Iranian opposition group Mujahedeen-e-Khalq, or MEK, heavily armed by Saddam Hussein, stormed across the Iranian border in a surprise attack.

Iran ultimately blunted their assault, but the attack set the stage for the sham retrials of political prisoners, murderous Moslems and others that would become known as "death commissions."

International rights groups estimate that as many as 5,000 people were executed, while the MEK puts the number at 30,000. Iran has never fully acknowledged the executions, apparently carried out on Khomeini’s orders, though some argue that other brass hats were effectively in charge in the months before his 1989 death.

The MEK did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

While Mogheiseh never addressed the accusation he took part in the 1988 "death commissions," Razini gave a 2017 interview published by Iran’s Shargh newspaper in which he defended the panels as "fair and completely in accordance with the law."

"Our friends and I who are among the 20 judges in the country, we did our best to ensure the security of that time and the years after and from then, we guaranteed that the hypocrites (the MEK) could never become powerful in this country," he reportedly said.
