Attackers killed in assault on Chad's presidential palace
[GEO.TV] Gunmen launched an attack on Chad's presidential complex in the capital, N'Djamena, on Wednesday, triggering a fierce shootout that claimed 18 attackers' lives and killed one security personnel, according to a government statement.

AFP news hounds heard gunfire near the site and saw tanks on the street, while security sources reported that gunnies had tried to overrun the complex.

The government later said 19 people were killed in the fighting, of which 18 were members of the 24-strong commando unit that launched the assault.

"There were 18 dead and six injured" among the attackers "and we suffered one death and three injured, one of them seriously", government front man and Foreign Minister Abderaman Koulamallah told AFP.

Hours after the shooting, Koulamallah appeared in a video posted to Facebook, surrounded by soldiers and with a gun on his belt, saying "the situation is completely under control... the destabilisation attempt was put down".

A security source said the attackers were members of the Boko Haram

jihadist group, but Koulamallah later said they were "probably not" terrorists, describing them as drunken "Pieds Nickeles" -- a reference to a French comic featuring hapless crooks.

He said they attacked four guards before entering the presidential complex, where they were "easily overpowered", adding the surviving assailants were "completely drugged".

Sana'a attacked by US-British aggressors again - CENTCOM pounds Houthi tunnelbase
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] The American-British aggression forces on Wednesday renewed their aerial attacks on the Republic of Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
, launching seven Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
s on the governorates of Sana'a and Amran.

A security source explained that the US-British aggression aircraft targeted the Jarbaan area in the Sanhan district in Sana'a with two airstrikes.

The source also pointed out that the aggression warplanes carried out five airstrikes on the Harf Sufyan district in Amran governorate.

The US-British coalition continues its aggression on Yemen in support of the Israeli occupation, attempting to deter Yemen from supporting the Paleostinian people, who have been facing a Zionist genocidal war for over a year.

Is this the same attack?
CENTCOM strikes key Houthi tunnel base under 24 hours after IDF meeting
Hattip Skidmark. Perhaps the IDF gave them better target coordinates…
[Jpost] US Central Command (CENTCOM) on Wednesday said it carried out precision strikes on the Houthis’ underground advanced conventional weapons storage facilities in Yemen. The airstrikes took place less than 24 hours after CENTCOM’s deputy commander met with the IDF’s deputy chief of staff, it said.
So yesterday's projection of an Israeli briefing was likely.
The Houthis had used the facilities to conduct attacks against US Navy vessels and merchant ships in the southern Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, CENTCOM said.

“The strikes are part of CENTCOM’s effort to degrade Iranian-backed Houthi attempts to threaten regional partners and military and merchant vessels in the region,” it said.

CENTCOM Deputy Commander V.-Adm. Brad Cooper and IDF Deputy Chief of Staff Maj.-Gen. Amir Baram met in Israel on Tuesday afternoon to discuss strategy against the Houthis. Meetings of this nature usually have been focused on Gaza, Lebanon, or Iran.

Cooper and Baram visited several IAF bases, including Nevatim in the South, CENTCOM said. In 2023 at Nevatim, The Jerusalem Post watched a joint drill of Israeli F-35s and American F-15s training for striking countries at a distance.

Cooper and Baram discussed countering threats from the Houthis in Yemen and other terrorist organizations in the Middle East. They attended a strategic briefing led by IAF Commander Brig.-Gen. Omer Tishler, the Nevatim base commander, and other senior officers.

INCREASING FREQUENCY OF HOUTHI FIRE
On Sunday, the Houthis fired another ballistic missile at Israel, and they have increased the frequency of firing ballistic missiles at Israel for several weeks without any significant breaks.

Many of these attacks have forced millions of Israelis in the Tel Aviv and central regions into bomb shelters and safe rooms. There have been no fatalities from Houthi attacks since last July, but NIS 11 million in damage was caused to a school in the Tel Aviv area. Falling shrapnel after air-defense systems shot down Houthi ballistic missiles caused other damage.

The Houthi attacks have continued even after Israel launched four separate large-scale airstrikes on areas under the terrorist group’s control in Yemen. The IAF struck the Houthis’ main maritime ports multiple times and their international airport on December 25.

Even a CENTCOM strike against a key Houthi installation on December 31 did not stop the missiles being launched at Israel.

So far, the Houthis have launched more than 200 ballistic missiles and close to 200 drones against Israel.

Israel has said it would target Houthi leaders, but that or an end to the missile attacks has not taken place yet. The Mossad and the US are said to be making an effort to improve their intelligence gathering on the Houthis.

#2  the aggression warplanes carried out five airstrikes

What's an airstrike in CENTCOM media release parlance?
Full wing and/or bomb bay load, or 1 single ordinance unit, or anything in between including blue ice?
Is an airstrike counted for each aircraft or the full flight?

#3  Yemen deported its last Jews a year or two ago.

(Not a peep of protest at UN nor anywhere else.)

Why isn’t Yemen the happiest place on earth? No Jews!!! Just like their Judenrein neighbors Saudi, Jordan, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Gaza, Egypt, Libya, Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco , Sudan, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Somalia, Tanzania, and also Turkiye, and Pakistan and Afghanistan, and Indonesia, and Malaysia .

These people should be living such happy lives, living on huge, ginormous tracts of oft-times empty lands, for them and their leaders to do exactly as they wish —
What more could they possibly desire?

#4  Do you mean this from last March? I would call them deported so much as librated:

How an Arab country helped Israel rescue Yemen’s last Jews, and settle them in Cairo

According to the Times of Israel article, there is still one Yemenite Jew remaining in a Houthi prison. I imagine the Houthis plan on redeeming him for the traditional absurdly large ransom.

Two children among 3 killed in West Bank drone strike IDF says targeted terror cell
[IsraelTimes] Governor of Tubas says Hamza Bsharat, 10, and Reda Bsharat, 8, were killed in front of their home in a second strike on the village of Tamun in as many days

Paleostinian officials said Wednesday that two children were among three people killed in an Israeli dronezap in the northern West Bank town of Tamun, which the IDF said had targeted a cell of button men.

Ahmad Asaad, governor of the northern West Bank city of Tubas, told AFP that the strike hit the nearby village of Tamun, killing a 23-year-old man and two children, aged eight and 10, all from the same family.

The governor identified the dead as Adam Bsharat, 23, Hamza Bsharat, 10, and Reda Bsharat, eight.

The Paleostinian Foreign Ministry in Ramallah condemned the deadly strike, accusing Israel of harming civilians "under the pretext" of fighting gangs.

The IDF said that the Air Force had "struck a terrorist cell" in the area, without immediately providing further details. There was no comment from the military about the reported deaths of the children.

The Tubas governor said Israeli forces, which have operated in Tamun in recent days, took the bodies of the three Paleostinians killed.

The Red Islamic Thingy said they later handed them back.

According to the governor, the three family members were killed in front of their house, which an AFP journalist said was damaged by shrapnel.

Relative Jalal Bsharat said they had been at home when "the Israeli occupation army targeted them," and charged that the strike showed Paleostinians are not safe, even in their own homes.

By midday, hours after the strike, Israeli forces were no longer seen in Tamun, the AFP journalist said.

It was the second Israeli Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
to hit the village in as many days after the IDF said on Tuesday that it had killed two people in a strike on an "armed terrorist cell" that opened fire on troops

Several suspects were detained and weapons were seized during the operation, and residents told AFP that Israeli forces had taken one of the bodies.

3 soldiers killed in northern Gaza fighting, raising ground offensive toll to 401
[IsraelTimes] 3 other troops seriously wounded alongside Staff Sergeants Matityahu Ya’akov Perel, Kanaoo Kasa and Nevo Fisher; IDF intercepts rocket fired from southern Gaza at Kerem Shalom

Three Israeli soldiers were killed and three were maimed while fighting Wednesday in the northern Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. Strip, the military announced amid several days of deadly battles in the area.

The three slain troops were named as Staff Sgt. Matityahu Ya’akov Perel, 22, from Beit El, Staff Sgt. Kanaoo Kasa, 22, from Beit Shemesh, and Staff Sgt. Nevo Fisher, 20, from Bruchin. They all served with the 401st Armored Brigade’s 46th Battalion.

In the same incident, three other soldiers were maimed, including an officer at death's door. According to an initial IDF probe, the troops were hit by a large bomb that exploded against a tank during operations in Beit Hanoun.

The incident came after three other troops were killed and several more maimed in separate incidents the previous two days, and brought Israel’s toll in the ground offensive against Hamas
..a regional Iranian catspaw,...
in the Strip and in military operations along the border with the enclave to 401.

During Wednesday’s combat in northern Gaza, the military said an Israeli Air Force attack helicopter carried out a strike against a group of Hamas operatives at a former school in Jabalia.

According to the IDF, the Hamas operatives were at a command center embedded within the Halawa School, and were using the complex to plan and carry out attacks against troops in Gaza and against Israel. The building had also served as a shelter for displaced Gazooks, according to Paleostinian media.

Gaza’s Civil Defense reported at least nine people were killed in the strike.

The IDF said it took "numerous steps" to mitigate civilian harm, including by using aerial surveillance and other intelligence.

Meanwhile,
...back at the pond, Gloria slowly backed away from the eight-foot bull frog. If the creature croaked she would surely be deafened...
a rocket launched from southern Gaza at the Kerem Shalom area was successfully intercepted by air defenses.

The IDF later launched an interceptor missile near the border with Gaza, though the military said it was found to have been fired at a "false" identification. There were no reports of injuries.

In the past two weeks, more than 20 rockets have been fired from Gaza at Israel, mostly from the Strip’s north.

Also Wednesday, White House National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby shot down claims of genocide in Gaza, when pressed on why the US formally recognized genocide in Sudan
...a Moslem country located in the Horn of Africa. It is noted for its affinity for rule by ex- or current generals, its holy men, and for the oppression of the native Afro population by its Arab conquerors. South Sudan, populated mostly by the natives, split off from Sudan proper, which left North and South Darfur to be oppressed by the guys with turbans...
while not doing so in the coastal territory.

"The IDF isn’t waking up every day and putting their boots on the floor, saying, ’Hey, we’re going to go kill some innocent people because they happen to be Paleostinian,’" Kirby said during a press briefing.

"That doesn’t mean that there haven’t been too many civilian casualties in this conflict... and we have been nothing but direct with our Israeli counterparts about our concerns on that and about trying to get them... to be more discriminate about the civilian toll in Gaza. It’s unacceptably high... but that is not the same as saying genocide," he argued.

The White House spokesperson said slain Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar and his terror organization have been the ones with "genocidal intentions," as demonstrated during their October 2023 onslaught in which they slaughtered some 1,200 people and take 251 hostages.

One of Hamas commanders killed by Israel in occupied West Bank
[GEO.TV] Hamas confirmed on Tuesday that one of its commanders has been killed by the Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank.

Jaafar Dababshe, 40, died in "a cowardly assassination operation he was subjected to in the village of Wadi al-Badhan in Nablus", the Palestinian group said in a statement.

"The Qassam Brigades recalls the journey of its martyred leader who had many battles and rounds in confronting the Zionist enemy," it added.

Hamas claims responsibility for West Bank shooting
[GEO.TV] Hamas' armed wing al-Qassam Brigades, along with two other brigades, claimed on Wednesday the responsibility for the West Bank shooting that happened on Monday and killed three Israelis.
The Times of Israel adds:
The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, said the operation was carried out jointly with the Palestinian Islamic Jihad and Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades terror groups.

Hamas also said that the mastermind of the attack was Jaafar Ahmed Dababseh, who was killed Tuesday by IDF troops in the West Bank village of Talluza, near Nablus.

The three terrorists who carried out the shooting are still at large.

Hamas provided no proof of its involvement in the attack.

Body of an Israeli hostage is found in Gaza, possibly alongside his son''s remains, army says UPDATE: Other remains found in Rafah tunnel are two Hamas guards
[APNEWS] Israeli soldiers recovered the body of a 53-year-old hostage in an underground tunnel in southern Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with a rusty iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
, the military said Wednesday, and the army was determining if another set of remains belongs to the man's son.

The discovery of Yosef AlZayadni's body comes as Israel and Hamas
..a regional Iranian catspaw,...
are considering a ceasefire deal that would free the remaining hostages and halt the fighting in Gaza. Israel says about a third of the remaining 100 hostages have died, but believes as many as half could be dead.

Yosef and his son Hamzah AlZayadni were thought to still be alive before Wednesday's announcement, and news about their fate could ramp up pressure on Israel to move forward with a deal.

The military said it found evidence in the tunnel that raised ''serious concerns'' for the life of Hamzah AlZayadni, 23, suggesting he may have died in captivity. Lt. Col. Nadav Shoshani, an Israeli military spokesperson, said the circumstances behind Yosef AlZayadni's death were being investigated.

AlZayadni and three of his children were among 250 hostages taken captive after Hamas-led bully boyz stormed into southern Israel, killing 1,200 people.

How the Times of Israel reported it:
IDF says body of hostage Youssef Ziyadne found in Gaza, ‘grave concerns’ for son’s life

Remains of Ziyadne, 53, brought back to Israel, along with findings linked to his son Hamza, 22; troops located the body in tunnel in Rafah, in area where IDF previously operated

The body of hostage Youssef Ziyadne, 53, who was abducted by Hamas terrorists on October 7, 2023, was recovered by the Israeli military from a tunnel in the southern Gaza Strip on Tuesday night, the Israel Defense Forces announced on Wednesday.

Members of Ziyadne’s family said that the military had informed them that the body of his son, Hamza Ziyadne, 22, was also recovered from Gaza, though the IDF said that this was not yet confirmed.

Youssef was abducted by Hamas terrorists during the October 7, 2023, onslaught, along with three of his children, Hamza, Bilal, 18, and Aisha, 17, while working in Kibbutz Holit near the Gaza border.

Bilal and Aisha were released on November 30, 2023, after more than 50 days in Hamas captivity.

Until Tuesday, Youssef and Hamza were presumed alive.

The IDF in a statement said that Ziyadne’s body was found in a tunnel in southern Gaza’s Rafah, and was brought back to Israel for identification. Following the identification process, his family was notified.

In the same tunnel, the IDF said it located findings that linked to Ziyadne’s son Hamza who was abducted with him on October 7, as well as other intelligence materials.

The military said the findings raised “grave concerns for his life.”

The remains of at least two Hamas operatives were located alongside Ziyadne’s body in the tunnel, and they are believed by the IDF to have been guarding him.

The tunnel in Rafah was located in an area where the military had operated before, according to IDF sources. The IDF returned to the area following new intelligence, to recover the body. It was not in the same area where the bodies of six hostages were found in late August.

The cause of Ziyadne’s death was still under investigation by the IDF, though according to initial assessments, did not occur recently.

Despite the IDF statement, Defense Minister Israel Katz said on X that the bodies of both Youssef and Hamza were recovered “in a heroic operation,” and expressed his condolences to the Ziyadne family.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, meanwhile, offered condolences to the Ziyadne family.

“We hoped and worked for the safe return of the four members of the family from Hamas captivity,” Netanyahu said. “We returned the children Bilal and Aisha on November 23, and we wanted to return Youssef and Hamza in the same way.”

Youssef, married with two wives and 19 children, was working in the kibbutz cowshed. Hamza, married and father of two, and Bilal, were working with their father, while their sister Aisha had joined them for the morning. The family lives in Rahat, in the Ziyadne neighborhood, named for their extensive family clan.

Following their release, Bilal said the terrorists kidnapped him and his family members even though they knew they were Arabs. Bilal said the four of them were kept together.

It is now believed that 94 of the 251 hostages abducted by Hamas on October 7 remain in Gaza, including the bodies of at least 34 confirmed dead by the IDF.

IDF says it destroyed 5 Hezbollah weapons depots in recent south Lebanon operations
[IsraelTimes] The IDF says it located and demolished five Hezbollah weapon depots in southern Lebanon, during recent operations amid the ongoing ceasefire.

The depots found by the 300th “Baram” Regional Brigade included over 200 mortars, primed rocket launchers, and other military gear, the military says.

The troops also located a truck-mounted rocket launcher.

The weapons were confiscated and the sites were demolished.

The IDF says it is working to “remove threats and terror infrastructure, in accordance with the understandings between Israel and Lebanon, while abiding by the ceasefire agreement.”

In Yarmouk's ruins, Palestinians mourn the cost of Syria''s war
Oh well. Anyway…
[NEWARAB] The shattered walls and artillery-scarred pockmarks of Abdul Qader al-Husseini Mosque in Damascus's Yarmouk Camp stand as solemn reminders of the day a regime MiG fighter jet struck the area.

Even now, 13 years since the attack, the mosque and nearby buildings, including a school, are almost frozen in time as monuments to the devastation.

For many residents of the camp, the attack marked a turning point: a second exodus that echoed the displacement of their ancestors in 1948.

The Paleostinian refugee camp of Yarmouk, established in 1957 in a bustling southern suburb of Damascus, was once home to around 160,000 people, predominantly Paleostinian refugees expelled from their homes in northern Mandatory Paleostine in 1948.

In the aftermath of the Syrian revolution, tensions rose in Yarmouk as intense festivities and heavy bombardment between vying factions devastated the camp, causing mass displacement and civilian casualties.

Leading up to the Syrian revolution, life in the camp remained "normal," as it had always been for its residents. Once peaceful protests escalated into armed conflict, the camp became a refuge for displaced families from neighbouring areas such as Tadamon and al-Hajar al-Aswad, according to Othman Abu Khalifa, a long-time resident of the camp who endured the harrowing years of siege.

in 2012. Abu Khalifa said that the Syrian regime used the presence of these displaced families as a pretext, labelling them ''terrorists'' to justify the attack.

"December 16, 2012, marked a turning point for Yarmouk," recalled Abu Khalifa. "That was the day the mosque and other buildings were hit, changing everything."

He described the scale of the tragedy as ''unimaginable,'' with so many dead and maimed that it took the survivors four hours to retrieve bodies from the rubble.

''Some victims were buried on the spot because their remains were in pieces,'' he said.

Sally Obeid, a journalist affiliated with the Fatah movement and a former resident of Yarmouk, describes the terror that engulfed the camp that day.

''People were fleeing in panic, spreading out to areas like Zahira and other parts of Damascus, or to Paleostinian camps in other provinces,'' she said. ''It was like another Nakba,'' referring to the Paleostinian exodus of 1948.

#1  The Paleostinian refugee camp of Yarmouk, established in 1957... Muslim refugees are a joke. A very bad joke.

Iran holds large-scale air defence training as US-Zionist threat intensifies
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] Iran's armed forces began a large-scale joint air defense exercise near the Natanz uranium enrichment facility in central Isfahan province on Tuesday, state television
... and if you can't believe state television who can you believe?
reported.

The ''Eqtedar'' (Power) 1403 exercise was launched on the orders of Khatam al-Anbia Air Defense Base Commander Qader Rahimzadeh, IRIB TV said.

The first phase involves Aerospace Force units of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) conducting ''all-out point defense of the nuclear site against numerous aerial threats under tough electronic warfare conditions,'' according to IRIB.

IRGC front man Ali-Mohammad Naeini said on Monday that the annual drills aim to maintain and improve military preparedness, counter potential military threats and acts of sabotage, and boost national morale.

The exercise comes after American news website Axios reported last week that U.S. National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan presented US President Joe The Big Guy Biden

with options for a potential U.S. attack on Iranian nuclear facilities ''should the Iranians move towards a nuclear weapon before Jan. 20, 2025.''
