A small fire had broken out at the property in question around 5:30 a.m. on Mandeville Street in the Marigny neighborhood just a little over a mile away from Bourbon Street.
Sources told WVUE that they found bomb-making materials at the residence after extinguishing the blaze and deploying bomb-sniffing dogs.
Sources previously told The Post that earlier Wednesday bomb squads had been dispatched to an Airbnb that terror suspect Shamsud-Din Jabbar is thought to have stayed at following a fire at the rental.

The images also showed military officials in an armored vehicle pointing guns at him as he was taken into custody.

New Orleans terrorist Shamsud-Din Jabbar made a series of videos as before his deadly truck ramming onslaught in which he confessed to planning to murder his family and claimed he joined ISIS, CNN reported.
The videos, which have been obtained by law enforcement, are believed to have been filmed as Jabbar drove from Texas to Louisiana before his deadly car ramming attack Wednesday -- though their exact time of filming isn't clear.
Jabbar allegedly discussed his divorce in the videos and said he had plotted to invite his entire family to a "celebration" as a pretext to killing them all. Jabbar has two daughters aged 15 and 20 with an ex-wife, Nakedra Charrlle, the New York Times reported.
Jabbar, 42, had been divorced twice, which had put him in financial trouble. During his second divorce, the Army veteran said he racked up more than $16,000 in credit card debt on lawyers' fees after his real estate business suffered a $28,000 loss the previous year.
The videos also reportedly show Jabbar stating he joined ISIS and discussing various dreams about how he should join the terrorist group.

New Orleans terror perpetrator Shamsud-Din Jabbar served in the Army for more than a decade before he carried out his apparently ISIS-inspired attack on Wednesday, according to his service record.
Working as an IT specialist, he deployed to Afghanistan from February 2009 until January 2010, the service branch said in a summary of military experience.
Jabbar served on active duty from March 2007 until January 2015 and was a reservist from January 2015 until July 2020.
He left the service at the rank of staff sergeant, according to the Army.

Who is Shamsud-Din Jabbar?
Jabbar was an Army veteran who enlisted in 2006 and spent nine years on active duty as an administrative clerk, with a deployment to Afghanistan in 2009. He was discharged honorably in 2020, an Army spokesperson said.
Court and property records show Jabbar lived in Fresno, Texas — about 20 miles south of Houston — with his wife until he lost his house in their divorce in August 2022.
He held a real estate license from 2019 to 2023 and worked for Deloitte, one of the nation’s largest financial services companies, records show. But he also racked up tens of thousands of dollars in credit card and other debts, according to court filings.
Jabbar lived for about two years in a mobile home in north Houston before telling his landlord he was relocating to New Orleans as a renter about a month ago, the landlord said in an interview Wednesday.
’I was shocked. I was really shocked. I really cried,” said Asia Maryam, the landlord. “He was supposed to pass the key to the other tenant. I asked them if he passed the key. They said no, he’s going to New Orleans and he’s coming back to drop off his stuff.”
Maryam said he never gave her or the neighbors any problems and paid his rent in cash on time every month. She said she recently received a call about his rental history from a prospective landlord in New Orleans.
Maryam said Jabbar worked from home, though she doesn’t know what he did for a living. Jabbar told her he was keeping his same job but would work with different clients when he moved to New Orleans.
If he had begun to associate with extremist ideologies during a period of isolation, he didn’t appear to make it known publicly. He left little of an online footprint, other than his dormant company’s website and a YouTube video he posted four years ago, promoting his real estate business.
Abdur Jabbar, 24, told The New York Times that he was a brother of the suspect, and that his brother was smart, caring and converted to Islam at a young age.
“But what he did does not represent Islam,” said the younger Jabbar. “This is more some type of radicalization, not religion.”
The current spouse of Jabbar’s ex-wife also told reporters outside of their home in Houston on Wednesday that Jabbar had been practicing Islam and begun to behave erratically, The New York Times reported.
He said Jabbar had two daughters.
SUSPECT GREW UP IN TEXAS, WORKED IN REAL ESTATE
Jabbar was a quiet kid in school growing up, belonging to a Muslim family that had strict rules about schoolwork, according to Edmond Dean, who said he was a childhood friend of Jabbar’s in Beaumont, where they grew up.
Dean described Jabbar as “really smart” with high scores on standardized tests. Jabbar’s parents divorced when they were still in school and Jabbar joined a local Christian church, Dean said.
Jabbar went to the University of Houston briefly after high school on an academic scholarship but dropped out after posting bad grades, Dean said. Representatives for the university did not respond to messages Wednesday.
Jabbar went on to become a real estate agent, and posted a YouTube video in 2021 promoting his business. He promised customers service at his real estate company centered on the values he learned in the Army.
He said he spent 10 years as a human resources and IT specialist in the military.
A man by the same name attended Georgia State University from 2015-2017 and graduated with a degree in computer information systems, a school spokesperson said.
A spokesperson for Deloitte said Jabbar was hired in 2021.
“He was quiet,” Dean said. “He didn’t fight anybody. He was a pretty boy guy … A lot of girls liked him.”
BOURBON STREET ATTACK SUSPECT BRIEFLY ENLISTED IN U.S. NAVY BEFORE BEING DISCHARGED: SPOKESPERSON
A U.S. military spokesperson told Fox News that Shamsud Din Jabbar, the suspect behind the Bourbon Street attack, was briefly enlisted in the U.S. Navy.
Jabbar enlisted in the Navy in August 2004 and was discharged one month later from the delayed entry program, an official said. He was enlisted under a different name at the time. He never made it to recruit training command, meaning he was discharged before he could have served in the Navy.
"Our records show that a Shamsuddin Bahar Jabbar enlisted on Aug. 12, 2004, in Navy Recruiting District Houston and was discharged from the Delayed Entry Program one month later on Sept. 13, 2004," a Navy spokesperson explained. "He did not go to Recruit Training Command."

NEW DETAILS EMERGE ABOUT SHAMSUD DIN JABBAR'S SERVICE IN THE U.S. MILITARY
A spokeperson told Fox News that Jabbar served in the U.S. Army from 2007 to 2020.
“Shamsud-Din Bahar Jabbar was in the regular Army as a Human Resource Specialist (42A) and Information Technology (IT) Specialist (25B) from March 2007 until January 2015 and then in the Army Reserve as an IT Specialist (25B) from January 2015 until July 2020," the spokesperson said. "He deployed to Afghanistan from February 2009 to January 2010. He held the rank of Staff Sergeant at the end of service.”
Jabbar's awards also included the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Good Conduct Medal and the Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal.
The suspect was also given the Army Achievement Medal and a National Defense Service Medal, among other awards.

Far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir ordered the arrest of an 18-year-old Arab Israeli McDonald’s employee after he was filmed in an altercation with two uniformed soldiers at a Ramat Gan branch of the fast food giant.
The man was filmed throwing ketchup packets and cursing at a pair of female soldiers, and allegedly threatened them with the handle of a mop. The footage was widely shared on social media.
According to multiple Hebrew media reports, the soldiers said that they approached the employee to ask about the status of their order, which was taking unusually long. The soldiers said that they were ignored completely because they were in uniform, and that once the employee saw he was being filmed, he began verbally accosting the soldiers and threatened to attack them.
A witness told the Ynet news site that the McDonald’s was unusually busy, and that the employees were under pressure to prepare the "many orders waiting in line."
The witness said that "the customers began to comment on the delay, then two female soldiers took out their phones and began filming the employees and the line. The employee then got angry because they were filming him, and began to confront the customers and scream at them."
Ben Gvir said he ordered police to arrest the employee.
"Congratulations to the Israel Police who acted according to my policy," and that after the "disturbing documentation was sent to me, I immediately sent it to [the police] for investigation," Ben Gvir said.
Police then arrived at the location and arrested the man, who is a resident of the town of Ma’ale Iron, near Haifa.
According to Ynet, the employee was released to house arrest after several hours of questioning, and told to stay away from the Ramat Gan branch for 10 days.
Michal Sela, the executive director of Givat Haviva — the Center for Shared Society, an Arab-Jewish NGO, called on police to "release the employee immediately," and urged that Ben Gvir "devote his time and energy to eradicating the violence raging in the streets, and to stop agitating and inciting hatred just to advance his political needs."
McDonald’s of Israel released a statement after the incident, saying: "We have a zero-tolerance policy toward violence of any kind. We investigated the incident immediately and it will be handled on a disciplinary level, as is customary. We apologize to our customers for the incident."
The incident in Ramat Gan was not the only violent mostly peaceful altercation that occurred at an Israeli McDonald’s branch recently.
Last week, a brawl broke out between employees and customers at the McDonalds branch inside a Rehovot mall. Video footage of the incident shows several people exchanging blows and even throwing chairs, reportedly following an argument between an employee and a customer.
Police said that no arrests were made in connection to the brawl in Rehovot.
It’s clearly long past time to bring this kind of nonsense under control.

After nearly 15 months of fighting since Paleostinian terror group Hamas led a devastating massacre in southern Israel on October 7, 2023, there appeared to be no let up in the ensuing war at the start of the new year.
At midnight, two rockets were launched from the central Gaza Strip at the southern Israeli city of Netivot, the IDF said. There were no reports of injuries in the attack, which was claimed by Hamas.
Later, the IDF’s Arabic-language front man, Avichai Adraee, tweeted a warning for residents of central Gaza’s al-Bureij to evacuate ahead of expected Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... s, after the midnight rockets were fired from the area, as 2025 began.
"Terrorist organizations are once again firing rockets from this area," says Adraee. "For your own safety, move immediately to the humanitarian zone."
In an update from on the ground, the IDF said troops operating in southern Gaza’s Rafah located and destroyed a rocket manufacturing facility. The find was made by reservists of the Kiryati Brigade, which has been operating in Rafah under the Gaza Division for the past month. At the site, the military said the troops found medium-to-long-range rockets, along with other weapons.
Israel also reported that 127 Gazooks, most of them children and their caregivers, departed Gaza for medical treatment in the United Arab Emirates on Tuesday. COGAT, the Israeli department in charge of humanitarian aid to Gaza, said the Paleostinians left the enclave after security checks at the Kerem Shalom Crossing, where they entered Israeli territory. They were then taken to the Ilan and Asaf Ramon International Airport from where they flew to receive medical treatment in the UAE. The project was carried out in international cooperation with the UAE and the World Health Organization participating, COGAT said in a statement, adding "It is an additional medical—humanitarian step made possible in the context of Israel’s humanitarian policy in the Gaza Strip."
"We stress that this humanitarian action is another of the efforts led by the State of Israel together with the UAE as the nations deepen their ties under the Abraham Accords and in excellent cooperation with Romania and the European Union ...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing... ," the statement said.
COGAT said that in recent months, Israel has "eased conditions of exit for medical treatment in third countries." As a result, the unspecified period has seen 23 groups numbering 1,055 patients and caregivers pass through Kerem Shalom to 13 different countries abroad.
Israel, it said, "is thankful for the UAE’s leadership of this important humanitarian project, as it is for all the humanitarian efforts advanced in the Gaza Strip by international aid organizations and third countries in coordination with Israel since the start of the war in the Gaza Strip."

"Fifteen people were martyred and more than 20 were maimed" in the strike on a house where displaced people were living, according to Mahmud Bassal, front man for the Hamas-run civil defense agency.
The Israeli military said it was looking into the reported strike.
Since October 6, the military has been conducting a major land and air offensive in northern Gaza, particularly targeting Jabalia and its adjacent refugee camp. The military says it is an effort to prevent Hamas gunnies from regrouping there and that it has killed hundreds of fighters.
A separate Israeli strike on Wednesday targeted a group of people in the al-Manara neighborhood of Khan Younis, in Gaza’s south, killing at least four people, civil defense said.
Another strike overnight in the built-up Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza killed a woman and a child, according to the al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, which received the bodies.

[NewsMax] IDF Kills 106 Hamas Terrorists in 2-Hour Gaza Ambush
We knew they killed lots of bad guys, but this reports all the fascinating details.
The IDF and Israeli media outlets published stunning new details of one of the most successful nights the Israeli forces have had since the start of the war, with the troops killing 106 Hamas terrorists in the span of around two hours, without losing a single soldier.
"It was the most significant night we remember in the fighting in the northern Gaza Strip," a military source told Army Radio, whose correspondent Doron Kadosh reported the details of the overnight fighting.
The operation followed the end of the siege of Kamal Adwan Hospital in Jabaliya, where the IDF captured over 240 Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorists.
On Sunday evening, the Israeli army received intelligence that terrorists planned a large-scale attack on Israeli forces, with the goal of breaking out of the besieged Jabaliya camp, and possibly intending to flee northern Gaza toward the south.
The attack was planned for later that night, to use the darkness and the heavy rain as cover. After receiving the early warning, the Israeli army set up hidden ambushes, in turn using the cover of darkness to hide large forces waiting for the terrorists.
Around 11 a.m., first reports of various terrorist squads approaching Israeli troops reached the division commander. The troops began firing with small arms and tanks, and also directed drone strikes against the terrorists.
The terrorists mostly moved in small squads, some armed with AK-47 rifles, while others only wore military vests.
IDF soldiers fighting in Gaza have consistently recounted that most terrorists in Gaza walk around unarmed, and using the numerous weapon caches hidden in civilian homes to arm themselves when needed.
Soldiers of the Givati and the 401st Armored Brigades took part in the ambush, each killing dozens of terrorists. The Multi-Dimensional Unit (also dubbed Ghost Unit) even managed the rare capture of a terrorist amid the fighting.
The largest attempted attack came late at night, when some 30 terrorists attempted to flank a position of Givati's Shaked battalion. In the morning, the soldiers found 16 bodies from this battle alone.
The 52nd battalion of the 401st Brigade counted a total of 24 bodies of terrorists they killed in several clashes, all of whom IDF intelligence identified as known Hamas operatives.
At the end of the night, the IDF Southern Command counted 106 dead terrorists, while two terrorists surrendered and were taken captive, a rare occurrence in recent clashes in Gaza.
While the night ambush was an operational success, the fact that over 100 terrorists attempted a possibly concerted attack, even while the IDF claims its operations in northern Gaza to be almost done, raises difficult questions.
"After two and a half months of fighting in just this one urban area there are so many terrorists left. What does this tell us about how hard it is to clear other areas?" wrote Seth Frantzman, adjunct fellow at the Foundation for Freedom of Democracies.
"When this began it was already the third raid into Jabalia. I've actually been to this area twice with the IDF over the last year. The assessment was already that the 'battalions' in this area were dismantled a year ago," Frantzman noted.
"When the IDF returned in October 2024 around 70,000 civilians had to be evacuated and several thousand terrorists were found there, many eliminated or detained. And yet it goes on and on, in just this one area," he added.
According to Army Radio, one of the captured terrorists said he was part of a squad numbering more than 10 terrorists. The IDF is currently investigating whether several squads separately decided to use the bad weather for an escape attempt, or whether this was indeed a concerted, pre-planned attack.
The IDF told Army Radio that "the enemy in the sector is completely disintegrated," and it estimates that only about 100-200 terrorists remain in the area, after killing some 2,500 and capturing around 1,950 more in the past months.
The IDF has made strident efforts to evacuate the civilian population in the area, and soldiers have not encountered any civilians on the streets there in recent months.
Despite the remaining questions, IDF reportedly assesses it is approaching the completion of its operations in the northern part of the Gaza Strip.
