[ShabelleMedia] Somalia’s National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) conducted a targeted operation in the Dharaarweyn area near Galcad city, within the Galgaduud region.
The agency stated that the mission, executed overnight, resulted in the elimination of at least 23 insurgents and the demolition of three vehicles utilized by the militants.
The operation, which took place under the cover of night, was part of NISA’s broader strategy to disrupt Al-Shabaab’s operations and diminish its capacity to conduct attacks.
“The forces of the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) last night carried out an operation that killed more than 23 militants and also destroyed their vehicles,” NISA’s statement detailed, emphasizing the effectiveness of the strike.
[ShabelleMedia] Two soldiers from the Southwest regional forces were fatally shot in an ambush by al-Shabaab ... al-Qaeda's tentacle in East Africa... turbans while traveling between Wanalweyn and Afgoye in Somalia’s Lower Shabelle region, according to local reports.
The incident occurred as the soldiers, who were on a cycle of violence, were en route. A source speaking to Shabelle Radio confirmed the deaths but noted that there has been no official statement from the Afgooye district administration regarding the attack.
Lower Shabelle, due to its proximity to Mogadishu and its agricultural importance, is a strategic zone for al-Shabaab, who use it to exert control over food supplies and to launch attacks on nearby government and ATMIS positions. The group has refined its tactics over the years, employing hit-and-run ambushes, IED attacks, and now, as seen in this incident, targeting smaller groups of soldiers on less guarded routes.
While the Afgooye district administration has remained silent on the specifics of this attack, the Somali government has been vocal about its intent to combat al-Shabaab decisively. Operations against the group have been intensified, with support from ATMIS, which recently transitioned from AMISOM, aiming to bolster Somali security forces to take over national defense responsibilities.
However,
there is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened... incidents like these underscore the difficulties in stabilizing the region. The African Union ...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful... mission, despite its presence, has been criticized for its limited engagement outside fortified bases, which allows al-Shabaab some freedom of movement in rural and less fortified areas. The government’s strategy involves not only military action but also community outreach to win hearts and minds away from al-Shabaab’s influence.
Local communities in Lower Shabelle are caught between the holy warrior group’s harsh rule and the military operations aimed at dislodging them. The frequent skirmishes disrupt daily life, from farming to trade routes, and often result in civilian casualties, either caught in the crossfire or targeted by al-Shabaab for perceived collaboration with government forces.
The conflict with al-Shabaab, an affiliate of al-Qaeda, has been ongoing for over a decade, with the group controlling parts of rural Somalia while urban areas, particularly Mogadishu, see frequent attacks. Despite some territorial losses, al-Shabaab has demonstrated resilience, adapting to new challenges by shifting strategies from large-scale territorial control to guerrilla warfare, ambushes, and targeted liquidations.
[ShabelleMedia] The National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) has arrested an Al-Shabaab operative linked to the killing of two residents in the Dharkenley District of Banadir region, a move officials say underscores their commitment to Mogadishu security.
The arrest, part of a series of operations across Somali capital aimed at dismantling terrorist networks, was highlighted as a critical step in safeguarding the populace.
NISA, working alongside other security entities, has intensified efforts to preempt and counteract threats within the country.
“The recent operation in Dharkenley is a testament to our resolve in fighting terrorism and protecting our citizens,” said a NISA spokesperson, emphasizing the government’s dedication to maintaining peace and stability.
The government continues to call on the public to stay alert and assist security forces, reinforcing the collective effort needed to combat terrorism and foster a secure environment in Somalia.
[ShabelleMedia] Kenyan warplanes have been active over the Gedo region of Somalia overnight, dropping warning leaflets in the Faxfaxdun area, according to local reports.
The leaflets, aimed at civilians, cautioned residents to avoid areas where al-Shabaab ... the personification of Somali state failure... Lions of Islam are known to operate, signaling an imminent military operation against the group.
This move has instilled fear among the local populace, with noticeable impacts on daily movements and activities.
Kenya’s air force has been pivotal in conducting operations against al-Shabaab, particularly in the regions of Juba and Gedo, where Kenyan forces have been deployed as part of the broader effort to combat the murderous Moslem group linked to al-Qaeda.
The distribution of these warning leaflets underscores the ongoing military strategy to minimize civilian casualties while intensifying the fight against al-Shabaab.
No immediate comments have been made by Kenyan military officials regarding the operation, leaving the extent and the immediate outcomes of the aerial campaign uncertain. However,
man does not live by words alone, despite the fact that sometimes he has to eat them... such actions reflect the continued regional efforts to dismantle al-Shabaab’s infrastructure and influence in southern Somalia.
[shabelleMedia] The National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) of Somalia executed a targeted operation in the Yaaqle village area, northeast of Bal’ad town in the Middle Shabelle region, resulting in the death of 19 al-Shabaab ... Somalia's version of the Taliban, functioning as an arm of al-Qaeda... turbans.
This strike was specifically aimed at a known assembly point for the turbans, aiming to disrupt their organizational capabilities significantly. NISA’s actions reflect a strategic intent to not only dismantle al-Shabaab’s operational bases but also to intercept their plans before they can execute attacks.
The operation underscores the persistent and intensified efforts of Somali security forces to counteract the influence of al-Shabaab, an al-Qaeda affiliate, which has been actively trying to undermine stability in Somalia and the broader region.
Al-Shabaab has recently escalated its campaign of violence, targeting both civilian and military sites to demonstrate its reach and assert its control over territories.
While NISA reported a successful operation, local reports suggest there might have been casualties on the side of the security forces as well, indicating the fierce and unpredictable nature of these engagements.
The variance in casualty figures often reflects the challenges in obtaining accurate information in conflict zones, where information can be controlled or manipulated.
The broader context of this operation is part of Somalia’s ongoing struggle against al-Shabaab, which has controlled large swathes of rural areas, imposing its strict interpretation of Islamic law and engaging in extortion, while also launching attacks in urban centers like Mogadishu.
The international community, including the African Union ...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful... and the United States, has been supporting Somalia’s fight against al-Shabaab through military training, Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... s, and strategic assistance. Despite these efforts, al-Shabaab remains resilient, adapting its tactics to include guerrilla warfare, ambushes, and sophisticated IED attacks.
The significance of this operation extends beyond immediate military gains; it’s part of a broader narrative to reassure local populations and the international community of the government’s resolve to combat terrorism. However,
nothing needs reforming like other people's bad habits... the continuous threat posed by al-Shabaab, coupled with the complex socio-political landscape of Somalia, means that military operations alone are insufficient. Addressing underlying issues such as governance, economic development, and community reconciliation remains crucial for long-term stability.
The conflict with al-Shabaab, therefore, continues to be a critical issue for regional security, affecting not just Somalia but its neighbors and international partners involved in peacekeeping and counter-terrorism efforts in the Horn of Africa.

[IsraelTimes] US warships shot down drones and missiles fired by Yemen’s Houthis while they were transiting the Bab al-Mandab Strait, the Pentagon says.
Earlier today, the Houthis said they conducted two military operations against US naval vessels in the Red and Arabian seas which the group’s military spokesperson said lasted for eight hours.
Pentagon spokesperson Air Force Major General Patrick Ryder says that two US warships were attacked yesterday by at least eight drones, five anti-ship ballistic missiles and three anti-ship cruise missiles. The warships brought down the projectiles and there was no damage to the vessels.
Ryder says he is not aware of any attacks against the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln.

[IsraelTimes] City officials say 10 Israelis were arrested ahead of Thursday’s soccer match; Dutch police warn of fresh calls for rioting after anti-Israel protesters set fire to tram car Monday
This all sounds very detailed and thorough, but is missing key details, like planning on social media for a Jew hunt several days before the soccer match, troubling incidents in the days before, and the involvement of taxi drivers and uniformed Amsterdam police in the attacks on Maccabi fans and others found on the streets. This is considerably more than an understandable spontaneous emotional response by a portion of the local population to an unbearable provocation by troublesome foreign Jews.
The attacks on Israeli fans by local Arab and Moslem gangs after a soccer match in Amsterdam last week were a "poisonous cocktail" of antisemitism and hooligan behavior, mayor Femke Halsema said on Tuesday, as a report showed that ten Israelis had been arrested ahead of the soccer match that preceded the attacks.
Halsema was speaking at an emergency meeting of the Amsterdam city council days after the Dutch capital was rocked by violence last Thursday following an Ajax-Maccabi Tel Aviv match.
Israeli officials said 10 people were maimed in the Thursday night violence carried out by local Arab and Moslem gangs against Maccabi Tel Aviv soccer fans. Hundreds more Israelis huddled in their hotels for hours, fearing they could be attacked. Many said that Dutch security forces were nowhere to be found, as the Israeli tourists were ambushed by gangs of masked assailants who shouted pro-Paleostinian and anti-Israel slogans while they hunted, beat and harassed them.
"Jewish Israeli supporters were guests in our city and they were sought, hunted and attacked via antisemitic calls on social media and on the streets," Halsema said on Tuesday. "But Amsterdammers were also attacked by Maccabi hooligans who chanted racist and hateful slogans in our city," she added.
Some video footage on social media showed Israeli fans singing anti-Arab and anti-Paleostinian chants, apparently prior to the riots, pointing to high tensions and unrest even before the attacks.
Pro-Paleostinian activists claimed the Israeli fans were the first to engage in harassment and violence, although those claims were not verifiable. Dutch broadcaster NOS reported that a Paleostinian flag was ripped off a building in the center of the city.
Reportedly the miscreants had discussed on social media strategically hanging such flags in order to elicit exactly that response.
City officials said Tuesday that ten Israelis had been arrested ahead of the soccer match that preceded the antisemitic attacks.
No doubt they deserved it — Israel has yobs and other troublemakers, just like everyone else. Were they teaming up with knives and clubs to attack children and old people?
According to the report from the city’s mayor, police chief and top prosecutor, which offered a blow-by-blow account of events leading up to the match and in their aftermath, all but four people of the 62 arrested around the match have been released. Of the four, three are suspected of attacking police and one is accused of "public violence."
The post-mortem said that city officials considered calling off the match the morning before it was played Thursday, but decided instead to simply open the soccer stadium early and herd Israeli fans there rather than allow them to remain in the city center.
Officials had expressed concerns "due to the aggression of Maccabi supporters" who had vandalized a taxi in the city Wednesday night, sparking online calls for taxi drivers to head to a casino where hundreds of Israeli tourists were gathered, though police managed to largely head off the clash.
The report also revealed that Amsterdam city officials were unable to reach Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof at 3 a.m. on Friday after Israel’s ambassador said Israeli government officials were planning to fly to the Netherlands in reaction to the attacks.
Seriously? I guess being in charge of Holland is only a part time job.
The report said police prevented many incidents, but struggled to track down perpetrators carrying out hit-and-run attacks and so around 1 a.m. decided to instead round up Israelis and take them to hotels.
The document noted that police were continuing to make arrests, while also sounding alarms on an uptick of anti-Moslem violence in the city.
Dutch authorities appeared to express annoyance at Sa’ar in the report, writing that they went to great lengths to quickly organize a stop for him at the Anne Frank House, only for Sa’ar to skip the visit.
Possibly the Israeli foreign minister had more urgent concerns than playing tourist that particular day. There is also the fact that little Anne and her family were betrayed to the Nazis by their Dutch neighbours, as was the sad rule rather than the exception for the Jews of the Netherlands during the Nazi period — not a good look on that particular day.
Schoof on Monday condemned the actions of the Maccabi Tel Aviv fans, but stressed that there was no excuse for the "deliberate hunting down of Jews."
"There is a big difference between destroying things and hunting Jews," Schoof said.
Schoof was meeting with community leaders Tuesday afternoon to discuss antisemitism.
Halsema told the press Tuesday that after Thursday’s match, groups of men on scooters engaged in "hit-and-run" attacks on Maccabi fans in areas of the city.
She said the situation after the game at the Johan Cruyff Arena, to the southeast of the city, "was under control until these hit-and-run incidents."
"Then a situation developed which the police could not tackle with the current force available," she said.
That is also when the first reports appeared on social media calling for the specific targeting of Israeli Maccabi supporters and a "Jew hunt."
Oh?
Halsema said Jewish institutions in the city including synagogues were not targeted and the attacks were "purely aimed at Israeli Maccabi supporters."
Asked by some council members why the game was not canceled because of the given security considerations, Halsema said, "We have taken all possible measures ahead of the game" based on security assessments.
"But what you ask me then is to forbid a team because it’s Israeli," she said.
Police also said the attackers were mobilized by calls on social media to target Jewish people.
POLICE WARN FRESH RIOTS MAY STILL BREAK OUT
Tensions remained high in Amsterdam over the weekend, and police enforced a week-long ban on protesting in the city, leading to the arrest of several people on Tuesday who defied the measure.
A Rooters eyewitness said that the protesters were arrested while holding up white banners in front of city hall. A police spokesperson confirmed that six people had been arrested.
Also on Tuesday, senior Amsterdam police officer Olivier Dutilh warned of calls for continued rioting after fresh violence broke out on Monday night.
"We have signals that there are calls for similar" unrest in the west of the city," Dutilh said in a court hearing.
Dozens of rioters threw fireworks at a tram car on Monday night, causing it to catch fire, while chanting antisemitic slogans. No one was hurt, although the windows of the tram were shattered.
Several suspects were arrested following the rioting on Monday after police said earlier in the day that they had arrested an additional five people in connection to last Thursday’s attacks.
The latest suspects were men aged 18 to 37 and living in the Netherlands, Dutch police said in a statement.
Four other men arrested last week remain in jug amid the ongoing investigation. Two of those are minors, a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old from Amsterdam. The other two men are from Amsterdam and a nearby city.
Police said they have identified over 170 witnesses and have taken forensics evidence from dozens.
[IsraelTimes] Suspect, 17, planning ‘serious violent’ assault arrested last week, authorities say; local media reports he intended to attack Christmas market with a truck
German prosecutors on Tuesday said that a 17-year-old had been arrested for plotting an Islamist terror attack, with media reports saying he wanted to target a Christmas market.
He is suspected of "preparing a serious violent mostly peaceful attack" and "conspiracy to commit murder," and had "extreme Islamist views," said the prosecutors in the northern state of Schleswig-Holstein.
The suspect is a German national and was arrested on Wednesday last week in the town of Elmshorn, they said.
The Bild daily reported that the suspect had planned to attack a Christmas market with a truck.
In December 2016 a truck rampage at a Berlin Christmas market killed 12 people, the deadliest jihadist attack ever committed in Germany.
Alongside several other countries, Germany has been on high alert for Islamist attacks since the Paleostinian terror group Hamas ..a regional Iranian catspaw,... ’s October 7, 2023, assault on Israel that killed 1,200 people and sparked the ongoing war in the Gazoo

Authorities say they have foiled several planned attacks.
However,
facts are stubborn; statistics are more pliable... three people were killed and eight maimed in a knife attack at a street festival in the western city of Solingen in August, allegedly carried out by a Syrian asylum seeker and claimed by the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... group.
In June, another knife attack killed a policeman in the town of Mannheim, with an Afghan national as the prime suspect.
Police have said that the teenager detained in the northern town of Elmshorn was motivated by extreme Islamism. He was reportedly planning a truck attack similar to the 2016 terror attack on a Berlin Christmas market.
Prosecutors in the northern German city of Flensburg said on Tuesday that a youth arrested last week was planning an Islamist terror attack.
He had "sufficiently concrete plans for an attack" to warrant an arrest, they added, saying there was also evidence of his radicalization.
The young man had been detained a week earlier in the town of Elmshorn and remains in custody while police continue the investigation.
Authorities have not confirmed much about the suspect, including how they caught wind of his plan or the details of his arrest.
However, they have said that he planned to utilize a large vehicle, such as a truck, for an attack.
This is reminiscent of a December 2016 assault on a Christmas market in Berlin, when Anis Amri deliberately drove into pedestrians, killing 13 people and injuring 70.
Amri fled to Italy and was killed in a shootout with police several days later.
U.S. intelligence agencies have given German state security a valuable tip that allowed a terror attack on a Christmas market to be avoided.
Well done, American intelligence! We do like to have reasons to be proud of you.
The Americans tracked down a 17-year-old German Muslim who had been radicalized in a short period of time. The young man planned to use a truck for his attack on a Christmas market at an unnamed location in Germany. The 17-year-old perpetrator is from Elmshorn, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, and his plans were Islamist-motivated. On Nov. 6, security forces raided his home and the teen has since been detained on suspicion of conspiracy to commit a crime.
[NY Post] A CIA official has been charged with leaking highly classified US documents about Israel’s potential plan to strike back against Iran over a missile attack.
Asif W. Rahman,
…or when his mother is mad, Asif William Rahman …
who worked overseas for the agency and held a top secret security clearance, was arrested by the FBI in Cambodia on Tuesday over the leaks, the New York Times reported.
His arrest comes after the top secret materials started circulating online last month detailing Israel’s apparent intention to retaliate after Iran launched a barrage of missiles back on Oct. 1.
The files, which were prepared by the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, in part detailed satellite imagery tied to the potential Israeli strike, as well as the various kinds of missiles on hand.
The top secret files were only meant to be seen by those with proper clearance in the US and the other members of the "Five Eyes" intelligence alliance — Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
Rahman’s clearance with the CIA meant he had access to sensitive compartmentalized information, which is typical of employees who handle classified materials.
The FBI had revealed last month that it was probing the source of the leak, saying at the time it was "working closely with our partners in the Department of Defense and intelligence community."
Rahman, who is being brought to a federal court in Guam to face the charges, is charged with two counts of willful retention and transmission of national defense information.

/\ Perhaps he was given the plans and told precisely what to do with them. If a foreign intelligence service stumbled over the scheme, they would have been obliged to notifiy the US Embassy.
At that point the Cambodian cover for action would have been blown.

^ Knowing Israel and Iran would just continue tit-for-tat attacks against each other, and the possibility for this to then spiral into a much greater conflict; maybe this guy was sold out, by given him the plans, knowing there was a very high probability he would leak them?

[IsraelTimes] Four soldiers were killed during fighting in the northern Gaza Strip on Monday, the Israel Defense Forces announced on Tuesday, bringing the total toll from the previous day to five.
The slain troops were named as:
Staff Sgt. Orr Katz, 20, from Ma’ale Adumim.
Staff Sgt. Nave Yair Asulin, 21, from Carmit.
Staff Sgt. Gary Lalhruaikima Zolat, 21, from Afula.
Staff Sgt. Ofir Eliyahu, 20, from Holon.
The soldiers all served with the Kfir Brigade’s Shimshon Battalion.
According to an initial IDF probe, the soldiers were hit by an RPG fired into a building they were in, in the far north of the Strip.

Their deaths brought Israel’s toll in the ground offensive against Hamas in Gaza and during military operations along the border with the Strip to 375. The number includes a police officer killed in a hostage rescue mission and a Defense Ministry contractor.
On Monday, another soldier was killed in a separate incident of sniper fire in Jabalia. He was named as Maj. (res.) Itamar Levin Fridman, 34.
The IDF’s offensive in Jabalia began in early October, the fourth push into the northern Gaza refugee camp since the start of the war a year ago. The military has said that this operation will finally break Hamas’s forces in Jabalia, which it has called the "most significant center of gravity" for the terror group in northern Gaza.
The IDF claims that more than 55,000 civilians have left Jabalia after Hamas was allegedly forcing them to stay there to act as a human shield for their activities. Some 60,000 Paleostinians were estimated to have been in Jabalia before the latest operation was launched last month.
The population has largely moved to Gaza City, with only a few dozen crossing the IDF’s Netzarim Corridor and heading to the Israeli-designated humanitarian zone in the Strip’s south.
Last week, the IDF estimated that only a few hundred people were left in Jabalia, both civilians and combatants. Several thousand Paleostinians also remain in Beit Lahiya, Beit Hanoun, and other northern Gaza towns, where the military is also operating against Hamas as part of the ongoing offensive.
The army said it has killed over 1,000 Hamas operatives in the renewed Jabalia offensive, adding that it has taken over 1,000 operatives into custody.
The Hamas-run Gaza health ministry says that over 43,000 Paleostinians have been killed since the start of the war in Gaza, though the numbers cannot be verified and do not differentiate between combatants and civilians.
[IsraelTimes] The IDF says two Palestinian suspects were detained for allegedly ramming their car into Israeli soldiers in the West Bank town of al-Khader last night.
Two soldiers hit by the car were taken to a hospital in light and moderate condition.
The suspects initially fled the scene after hitting the soldiers. They later turned themselves in to security forces and were detained, the IDF says.

Na Thawi Provincial Court in Songkhla on Thursday sentenced Azman to four years and 16 months in jail on charges of unlawful military and arms accumulation as well as unauthorised possession of arms.
He was arrested with four associates on Sept 17 at a checkpoint on Highway 42 linking Pattani and Narathiwat.
During the arrest, police discovered a flag with the logo of the BRN separatist movement
…originally the usual 1960s Pan-Arab socialist separatist movement in southern Thailand, it evolved into the Al Qaeda-linked Salafist BRN-C Muslim terror campaign following 9/11. Their big thing is murdering non-Moslem teachers to encourage non-Moslems to flee the three southern Thai provinces, with occasional bombs thrown in just for funsies. The big turbans started a peace dialogue with the government in 2020, but there are always holdouts for the kind of thing…
and evidence suggesting planned acts of violence in his vehicle.
Azman is from Thepha district in Songkhla. His criminal background includes 18 outstanding warrants, 13 related to security and terrorism charges and five to vehicle theft.
His alleged terrorist attacks include multiple attacks on public officials, bombings and infrastructure sabotage.
He is also linked to a 2019 kaboom on a security patrol in Songkhla's Saba Yoi district, which injured six officers.
In December 2022, he allegedly planted a bomb on the Hat Yai-Padang Besar railway line, causing a cargo train derailment, followed by an ambush on railway staff, resulting in three fatalities and four injuries.
The court's latest judgement did not address these violent mostly peaceful incidents but focused on charges related to possessing and storing weapons without authorisation.
[Rudaw] Three members of the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) on Monday were killed in a boom-mobile in northeast Syria’s (Rojava) Hasaka city, security sources said, amid an ongoing anti-Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... (ISIS) operation in the province.
"Hostile parties carried out a kaboom on Monday evening ... in al-Salihiya neighborhood near the water department in Hasaka city by planting an bomb likely connected to a remote control device, where three members of the SDF were inside the targeted car and martyred immediately," said a Tuesday statement from the internal security forces (Asayish) in Rojava.
Asayish said that two of the dead were veterans of the war against ISIS, which was territorially defeated in Syria in 2019.
The blast comes amid an SDF-led operation against ISIS in the Hasaka province’s notorious al-Hol camp - which houses suspects with links to ISIS and has been branded a breeding ground for terrorism.
An investigation has been launched into the earth-shattering kaboom.
The SDF, which controls northeast Syria, fought the lion’s share of the battle against ISIS and arrested thousands of the group’s fighters along with their wives and children when they crushed ISIS territorially and took the group’s last stronghold in Syria about five years ago.
Despite its territorial defeat, ISIS continues to pose serious security risks through hit-and-run attacks, bombings, and abductions on both sides of the border.
[Rudaw] The Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) on Tuesday announced the completion of a week-long operation against Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. (ISIS) sleeping cells in the notorious al-Hol camp in northeast Syria (Rojava), detaining 79 suspected members of the group.
The SDF and partner forces on Wednesday launched "Operation Enduring Security" in and around al-Hol in response to intensified ISIS attacks.
"As a result of the comb operations in the northern and southern countryside of al-Hol, the city of al-Hol, and its camp, the forces of Operation Enduring Security captured 79 ISIS terrorists, seized a significant quantity of weapons, including bombs and mines," read a statement from the SDF, following the completion of the operations.
During the operations, the Kurdish forces "interrogated 17 women implicated in acts of torture and providing support to ISIS terrorist cells."
The SDF said they also discovered "a woman’s body tortured and murdered in the camp, based on the confessions of an involved woman."
Al-Hol camp is located in Hasaka province and has been branded a breeding ground for terrorism. The majority of people in the camp are originally from Syria and Iraq, though it also houses people from around the world who traveled to the Middle East to live in the so-called ISIS caliphate.
Kurdish authorities in northeast Syria have repeatedly called on the international community to repatriate their nationals from al-Hol, but many countries are hesitant to take back their citizens due to security concerns.
The week-long operation was "repeatedly postponed" due to Ottoman Turkish strikes on Rojava, the SDF said.
Last month, The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire... intensified its strike on Rojava following an attack on the Ankara campus of the Ottoman Turkish aerospace firm (TUSAS), which the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) grabbed credit for. Ankara considers the Peoples’ Protection Units (YPG), the backbone of the SDF, as the Syria offshoot of the PKK.
[IsraelTimes] Israel hits 100 Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon over last day, strikes terror group sites in Beirut, as IDF says it’s destroyed majority of Hezbollah arms sites in capital
Two people were killed when a rocket exploded in the building where they were working in the northern coastal city of Nahariya on Tuesday as the Hezbollah terror group fired dozens of rockets and drones at northern and central Israel.
The almost non-stop rocket fire from Lebanon came as fighting continued in southern Lebanon and Israel reported it has destroyed the majority of Hezbollah’s weapons facilities in Beirut.
The attack on Nahariya killed Ziv Belfer, 52, and Shimon Najm, 54, both residents of the city, the municipality said. The two were pronounced dead at the scene, next to the warehouse that suffered a direct hit.
“It surprised us, because there’s a shelter there 10 steps away, and Ziv always goes to the shelter. It hurts because if there had been time, he would have gone to the shelter. I’m shocked,” Belfer’s sister Avital told Hebrew media.
In Kibbutz Kabri, the Magen David Adom emergency service said another two men in their 30s were lightly hurt by shrapnel in another impact.
According to the Israel Defense Forces, 10 rockets were launched from Lebanon in that attack, some of which were intercepted while others struck inside towns in the Western Galilee or open areas. Surveillance camera footage showed the deadly impact in Nahariya. The attack came hours after a Hezbollah drone struck a kindergarten in the Haifa suburb of Nesher. No one was hurt in that incident because staff rushed the children to a bomb shelter seconds before the impact.
In another barrage Tuesday afternoon, two rockets fired toward the Haifa Bay hit open areas, according to the military.
The IDF also said it intercepted a drone launched from Lebanon over the Western Galilee, while another drone struck an open area in the northern community of Ben Ami, close to Nahariya, causing no injuries.
Separately, three rockets launched from Lebanon at central Israel were successfully intercepted by air defenses, the IDF said, with no reports of injuries.
Shortly thereafter, Hezbollah claimed it had targeted an “air base south of Tel Aviv… with a salvo of quality missiles.”
‘WE HAVE TAKEN AWAY A LOT’
The IDF said troops with the division located rocket launchers primed for an attack on Israel, and demolished sites belonging to the terror group.
Also in the past day, the military said the Air Force struck some 100 Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon, including dozens of operatives, rocket launchers, weapon depots and other infrastructure.
Lebanon’s health ministry said five people were killed in an Israeli strike on a village about 25 kilometers (15 miles) from the Israeli border, which state-run media said targeted a house.
“The Israeli enemy strike on Tefahta killed five people,” the ministry said in a statement, with the official National News Agency reporting that “enemy aircraft launched a strike a short while ago on the town of Tefahta, targeting an inhabited house.”
The ministry didn’t say if those killed were civilians or Hezbollah operatives. Israel says its strikes are directed against the latter.
Israeli fighter jets also carried out a series of airstrikes on Hezbollah sites in Beirut’s southern suburbs on Tuesday.
According to the military, the targets included command centers, weapon manufacturing plans and other military infrastructure.
The Hezbollah sites were located “in the heart of a civilian population,” the military said, accusing the terror group of using human shields.
Before the strikes, the IDF issued evacuation warnings to civilians in the area. One airstrike on an apartment building east of the capital killed six people, while four remained buried under the rubble, paramedics at the scene said.
BEIRUT WEAPONS SITES DESTROYED
Amid the strikes on Beirut, the IDF announced that it had demolished the majority of Hezbollah’s weapons manufacturing and storage facilities in the Lebanese capital, after carrying out dozens of airstrikes on the city in recent months.
According to the military, over the past two decades, the Lebanese terror group constructed dozens of weapons manufacturing plants and depots under buildings in Beirut’s southern suburb, a Hezbollah stronghold known as Dahiyeh. The facilities were used by Hezbollah to manufacture and store hundreds of missiles and rockets of different kinds.
In a statement, the IDF said that in recent months it focused on demolishing the sites in a series of airstrikes carried out by fighter jets. During the strikes, secondary blasts were seen, confirming the IDF’s intelligence that the buildings were used by Hezbollah and contained explosives.
One of the main Hezbollah weapons manufacturing plants that was struck recently had been revealed by Israel at the United Nations in 2020, along with other facilities. According to the IDF, that complex was built under five residential buildings in Beirut, which housed some 50 families. The site was also located close to a school. The IDF said that Hezbollah would manufacture various components at the site, including parts for precision missiles.
Before each of the strikes, the IDF issued evacuation warnings to civilians in the corresponding area.
The military said Hezbollah’s use of civilian sites for weapon storage and manufacturing “directly endangers the residents of Beirut, as many explosives are hidden under the citizens, often without their knowledge.”
The IDF in its statement also noted the deadly 2020 Beirut port blast, which occurred after some 2,750 tons of ammonium nitrate stored there exploded. The military said that the ammonium nitrate was being “used as a component in Hezbollah’s munitions production process.” More than 220 people were killed in the explosion.
[IsraelTimes] The US military says it has conducted strikes against an Iranian-backed militia group’s weapons storage facility in Syria.
“These strikes were in response to a rocket attack on US personnel at Patrol Base Shaddadi. There was no damage to US facilities and no injuries to US or partner forces during the attack,” the US military says in a statement.
[IsraelTimes] Speaking to troops in southern Lebanon earlier today, IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi says that the military is “working very hard” and striking Hezbollah across Lebanon and Syria.
“From [Hassan] Nasrallah, Hezbollah’s Jihad Council, the commanders of the various units and areas… and a great many operatives… we have taken away a lot of capabilities,” Halevi says.
He says that it is “very very important” that ground forces are capturing large amounts of Hezbollah weapons in southern Lebanon, and “at the same time the IDF is working very hard, striking heavily in Beirut, Hezbollah targets.”
“We are striking deep [in Lebanon] and we are striking a lot in Syria and on the Syria-Lebanon border, so that weapons do not reach Hezbollah,” Halevi says.
The IDF’s 36th Division expanded its ground operations in southern Lebanon today, reaching new areas and Hezbollah assets, the military says.

Blowing up specific places in Beirut suggests they must have some pretty good intelligence.
Alternatively, Beirut may have become like Gaza where you can't hardly blow up nothing without getting secondaries. Either way, carry on!
