Pirates return to Somalia’s dangerous waters
[Garowe] The notorious pirates may have made a dramatic return to Somalia waters, multiple sources have confirmed, following five months of relative stability, coupled with a concerted effort from security forces targeting culprits.

This week, the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
Naval Force (EUNAVFOR), operating under Operation ATALANTA, has raised an alert following the departure of a suspected pirate action group (PAG) from Somalia’s northern-central coast.

The warning signal showcases the possible resurgence of pirates in the Somali waters, particularly along the Indian Ocean and the Gulf of Aden. The pirates take advantage of the lack of highly trained coastiess and maritime police in Somalia.

According to a report by the Maritime Security Centre- Horn of Africa (MSCHoA), the PAG, consisting of 13 armed pirates, left Ceel Huur near Hobyo and is heading toward the Indian Ocean. There is little presence of security officers in Somalia.

"All vessels are advised to proceed with caution and report any suspicious activity," the agency urged, reigniting fears of another wave of hijackings and attacks.

Somalia experienced its last significant pirate activity on June 7th, 2024, when the Marshall Islands-flagged Pacific Honor was approached by a suspicious vessel. Although nobody was injured in the incident, the pirates were presumably sending a message about their presence within the area.

Martin Kelly, head of advisory at EOS Risk Group, explains the timing: "With the end of the monsoon season, weather conditions have improved. This allows pirates to resume operations, and we’ve been warning clients of the increased risk."

Somali piracy has remained active for the last three decades despite the global incidents drop. The tactics of modern-day piracy have become sophisticated with the organisers relying on commandeer dhows and fishing vessels away from the traditional small boats.

It is estimated that piracy costs Somalia billions of dollars annually but the international community is increasingly investing in training and equipping of maritime security forces, who will be tasked to guard the 3,333KM coastline.

Blinken, Qatari PM say Doha to host US, Israeli hostage negotiating teams in coming days
Secretary Blinken tells Israel how to feel, announces another big donation to the West Bank and Hamas in Gaza, functionally rewarding them for attacking Jews.
[IsraelTimes] He says Israel has accomplished the strategic goals that it set out for itself at the beginning of the war just over a year ago: Making sure that Hamas’s brutal October 7, 2023, massacre can never happen again, by effectively dismantling the organization of Hamas and bringing its leaders to justice.

He also announces another $135 million in aid for the Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank, which he says brings the US total to $1.2 billion since the October 7 attack by Hamas last year triggered the war.

Blinken says Israel has made some progress in allowing more humanitarian aid into Gaza since he and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin sent their Israeli counterparts a letter warning that continued US offensive weaponry is at risk if Jerusalem doesn’t take significant steps to address the humanitarian crisis in the Strip within 30 days.

However, the US Secretary of State stresses that much more must be done by Israel.

Pressed on the so-called Israeli General’s Plan that envisioned the IDF laying siege to northern Gaza, Blinken says, “The US fully and firmly rejects it [and that] the government of Israel says that it is not the policy of israel and rejects the plan.”

Blinken had pressed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to publicly reject the plan during their meeting in Jerusalem on Tuesday, but the premier balked at doing so.

Asked about the anticipated Israeli response to Hamas’s October 1 missile attack, Blinken stresses that the US supports Israel’s right to defend itself and is coordinating with Jerusalem in order to deter Iran.

However, the US does not want Israel’s response to lead to further escalation in the region.

Russia provided Houthis with tracking data to target ships in Red Sea — report
[IsraelTimes] WSJ reports that members of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in Yemen relayed the info to the rebel group, helping it attack maritime traffic through key shipping lane

Russia earlier this year provided satellite data to help Yemen

Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The legitimate Yemeni government has accused the them of having ties to the Iranian government. Honest they did. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews They like shooting off... ummm... missiles that they would have us believe they make at home in their basements. rebels strike ships in the Red Sea, the Wall Street Journal reported Thursday.

The US daily — citing "a person familiar with the matter" and two anonymous European defense officials — reported that the data was transmitted by members of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps stationed in Yemen and used to target ships with missiles and drones.

The attacks have led to a dramatic drop in traffic through the key shipping lane.

In response, the United States and Britannia deployed a naval coalition to the region and have bombed Houthi targets in Yemen.

The report in the Journal comes on the heels of a summit of the BRICS countries, a diplomatic grouping that draws together nine countries that account for almost half the world’s population, including China, India and Iran.

Speaking at the BRICS summit, Russian President Vladimir Putin told leaders that the Middle East was on the brink of a full-scale war as the region braces for the expected Israeli response to Iran’s recent ballistic missile attack on the country.

The BRICS summit, attended by more than 20 leaders including Chinese President Xi Jinping, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and The Sick Man of Europe Turkey

’s Tayyip Erdogan, has shown the depth of Russia’s relations beyond the Western world.

Much discussion at the summit in the Russian city of Kazan was dedicated to the war in Ukraine and the violence in the Middle East, though there were no sign that anything specific would be done to end either conflict.

"The degree of confrontation between Israel and Iran

The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers...
and a return to the two-state solution under which states for both Israel and the Paleostinians would be established.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian criticized international organizations, particularly the United Nations
...an organization conceived in the belief that we're just one big happy world, with the sort of results you'd expect from such nonsense...
, for failing to end the conflict started by its proxy Hamas.

"The flames of war continue to rage in the Gaza Strip and cities of Lebanon, and international institutions, particularly the UN Security Council as a driver of international peace and security, lack the necessary effectiveness to extinguish the fire of this crisis," Pezeshkian told the BRICS.

Putin said that unless Paleostinians got their state, they would feel the burden of "historical injustice" and the region would remain in "an atmosphere of permanent crisis with inevitable relapses of large-scale violence."

BRICS leaders in their summit declaration called for the establishment of a sovereign, independent and viable Paleostinian state within the so-called 1967 lines. Paleostinian Authority President the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas

attended the summit, accusing Israel of trying to "empty" the Gaza Strip of Paleostinians, especially in the northern part where it launched a new offensive against Hamas this month.

"It has been a full year since the greatest catastrophe that the Paleostinian people experienced after the Nakba of 1948, which is the Israeli war in which crimes of genocide and ethnic cleansing are being committed in the Gaza Strip," Abbas said in a speech.

"This is part of a plan to empty the territory of its people, especially now in northern Gaza where the occupation forces are resorting to starving the population there."

Germany approves over $100 million in arms exports to Israel, angering rights groups
[IsraelTimes] European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights says it is seeking to halt further exports, which it claims endanger lives of Gaza’s civilians and violate international law

Strip.

Germany has approved €94 million ($101 million) in arms exports to Israel since August 2024, according to a government response to a parliamentary inquiry by left-wing politician Sevim Dagdelen.

The new permits followed a significant drop in arms exports to Israel in the first half of the year.

The European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights (ECCHR) said on Thursday it had filed an appeal at the Frankfurt Administrative Court on behalf of a Gaza resident, seeking to halt further arms exports.

The appeal says German weapons are contributing to civilian harm in Gaza. The plaintiff, a Gaza resident who lost his wife and daughter in Israeli Arclight airstrike

s, says ongoing arms shipments place his life and the lives of others in danger, calling on Germany to stop facilitating these transfers.

The action aimed at Germany’s Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (BAFA), responsible for such approval, focuses on Germany’s approval of military exports that could be used in the conflict, the ECCHR said, including tank parts from German defense firm Renk Group AG R3NK.DE, which supplies components for Israel’s Merkava tanks.

Renk Group AG was not immediately available for comment.
"I can say no more!"
on the case.

Germany’s economy ministry was also not immediately available for comment on the new case. The government has previously said it examines each arms export individually and takes a number of factors into account, including human rights and humanitarian law.

The ECCHR says Germany’s exports violate international law, citing the Arms Trade Treaty, which prohibits arms transfers if there is a significant risk they will be used to commit war crimes.

Earlier this month, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock stated that Berlin was awaiting a formal assurance from Israel that German-supplied military equipment would be used in compliance with international humanitarian law.

Legal challenges across Europa
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
have also led other allies of Israel to pause or suspend arms exports, but no case challenging German arms exports to Israel has yet succeeded.

#1  The institutional foundation of "International Law" is the UN.

The UN is dominated by regimes who are at least passive aggressively hostile to Western civilization.

Is "International Law" thus materially different from the will of the adversaries of Western civilization?

Is de facto enforcement of "International Law" thus materially different from a de facto enforcement of the will of the adversaries of Western civilization?

The Grand Turk
All Turkish airports have been placed on orange alert for terrorist attacks
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] All airports in Turkey have declared an orange alert level due to possible terrorist attacks, the Hürriyet newspaper reported on October 24.

The publication clarifies that the decision was made in the wake of the recent terrorist attack in Ankara. Passengers were asked to arrive at airports early to have time to undergo screening.

Turkish security officers also inspect all vehicles entering and leaving airports and check the identities of passengers.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, unknown persons attacked the production facility of the Turkish aerospace company TUSAS on October 23. It was noted that the attackers were able to enter the plant building and take nine people hostage.
No hostages, as it turned out. Only shooting and being shot.
The country's Interior Ministry leadership called the incident a terrorist attack.

During a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in Kazan, Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his condolences over the terrorist attack in Ankara. Russia strongly condemns any manifestations of terrorism, the Russian leader emphasized.

On October 24, Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said five people were killed in the terrorist attack on the aerospace company's production building. The Turkish news agency IHA reported that, in addition to the explosion, gunfire was heard in the area of the plant.

Ankara aerospace facility attackers belong to PKK: Turkey
Follow up to this report yesterday’s attack on the Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAS) headquarters.
[Rudaw] The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire...
’s interior ministry said on Thursday that it has confirmed that both assailants killed during an attack on an aerospace facility in Ankara the day before are members of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said in posts on X that "Ali Orek, codename Rojger, a member of the PKK terrorist organization" was identified as the male attacker, while "Mine Sevjin Alcicek" was the female attacker and belonged to the same organization.

The Ottoman Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc. (TAI) facilities in Ankara’s northern Kahramankazan district were attacked on Wednesday. Ottoman Turkish authorities said two attackers were "neutralized" and an investigation was being launched.

"It became clear that both turbans who attacked TAI were members of the PKK," Yerlikaya added, saying that Ankara is determined to "eradicate from our lands the treacherous terrorist organization that threatens the unity, solidarity and peace of our country."

No group has grabbed credit for the attack. The attack occurred as efforts have been discussed for a resumption of stalled peace talks to end decades of conflict in Turkey.

On Tuesday, Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) leader Devlet Bahceli proposed allowing the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) leader Abdullah Ocalan, who has been imprisoned since 1997, to address the Ottoman Turkish parliament and declare that the PKK has been eradicated and dissolved.

Bahceli, whose ultranationalist party is an ally of Ottoman Turkish President His Enormity, Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First
...Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey. In Anatolia did Recep Bey a stately Presidential Palace decree, that has 1100 rooms. That's 968 more than in the White House, 400 more than in Versailles, and 325 more than Buckingham Palace, so you know who's really more important...
’s Justice and Development Party (AKP), added that Ocalan should benefit from the "right to hope" principle that provides the possibility of conditional release for prisoners, taking their behavior into account.

Turkey’s largest opposition party leader Ozgur Ozel later in the day expressed support for Bahceli’s comments and "any efforts to end terrorism."

"If no more soldiers will die, if no more blood will be shed, if mothers’ tears will no longer flow, and if guns will no longer be pointed at soldiers, then every word said to achieve this is valuable to us as CHP," Republican People’s Party’s (CHP) leader Ozel said to his parliamentary group.

On Wednesday, the PKK leader’s nephew, Omer Ocalan, a pro-Kurdish Peoples’ Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) politician, met with him at Turkey’s Imrali Island prison, face-to-face for the first time since March 2020.

"The isolation continues," Abdullah Ocalan said through a post on X by his nephew. "If the conditions are right, I have the theoretical and practical power to pull this process from the ground of conflict and violence to the ground of law and politics."

In 2013, the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) government entered into peace talks with the PKK, paving the way for an unprecedented opening towards Kurds in the country. Kurdish politicians were able to speak freely about their rights, a topic that was previously taboo.

The peace talks, mediated by the DEM Party predecessor - the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) - collapsed in 2015 and were followed by intense urban fighting in the country’s southwestern Kurdish areas

Turkey quickly retaliated for Wednesday’s attack in Ankara by striking alleged PKK positions in Iraq and Syria. It claimed that 32 "targets belonging to turbans were neutralized" and that measures were undertaken to ensure civilians and the environment were not harmed. Turkey uses the term "neutralize" to denote adversaries captured, maimed, or killed.

In a statement on Thursday, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), the partnered local ground forces in Syria of the US-led international anti-Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. (ISIS) coalition, said that Turkey’s Arclight airstrike

s killed 12 civilians, including two children, and injured 25 others.

Ankara considers the Kurdish-led SDF and other groups in northeastern Syria (Rojava) to be offshoots of the PKK.

Ariane Tabatabai is now the deputy assistant secretary of defense for force education and training within the Office of the Secretary of Defense, a position she was offered last month. She was previously chief of staff for assistant secretary of defense for special operations and low-intensity conflict.

Note that Politico pointedly asserts that Tabatabai was offered the position last month, likely in an attempt to make people believe that this move wasn't in response to the document leak.

In her position as chief of staff to Maier, Tabatabai had access to extremely sensitive intelligence assessments because of what Maier's role entails:

narratives to divide Americans ahead of the November 5 US presidential elections and may consider fomenting violence after voters go to the polls, US intelligence officials said on Tuesday.

The officials, briefing news hounds on US election security, said foreign actors could consider physical threats and violence, and are highly likely to conduct disinformation operations to create uncertainty and undermine the election process.

"Foreign actors, particularly Russia, Iran and China, remain intent on fanning divisive narratives to divide Americans and undermine Americans’ confidence in the US democratic system. These activities are consistent with what these actors perceive to be in their interests, even as their tactics continue to evolve," said one official from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI).

That official said influence actors "particularly from Russia, Iran and China" have learned from previous US elections and are better prepared to exploit opportunities to stoke unrest.

Those actors could draw on the same type of tools they have been using in the pre-election period — especially information and cyber operations — and may also consider physical threats and violence, the ODNI official added.

But the officials said US intelligence has not seen collaboration between Russia, China and Iran in election influence activities. And, while foreign actors might seek to disrupt the process on Election Day, feeding discontent, the voting system is secure enough that they could not alter the outcome.

"Some foreign actors also have the capacity to stoke protests and take violent mostly peaceful actions during this [post-election] period," the ODNI official said. "In particular, Iran and Russia are probably willing to at least consider tactics that would contribute to such violence."

The election is expected to be close. A Rooters/Ipsos poll released on Tuesday showed Democratic US Vice President Kamala Harris
It is time for us to do what we have been doing. And that time is every day
with a 46 percent to 43% lead over Republican former US president Donald Trump
...His ancestors didn't own any slaves...
The Russian and Chinese embassies in Washington and Iran’s mission to the United Nations
...boodling on the grand scale...
did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Russia, China and Iran previously have denied US election-meddling allegations.

USE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
The ODNI official said foreign actors were using social media and other online operations to influence presidential and congressional races, to denigrate some candidates or support others.

Some social media posts are likely to be generated by artificial intelligence, said that official, who briefed news hounds on condition of anonymity.

As an example, the ODNI official pointed to a post on social media platform X this month generated by what he called Russian influence actors that made a false allegation against Minnesota Governor Tim Walz
...Kamala's smarmy-looking running mate, governor of Minnesota, who decided to retired rather than to deploy with his National Guard unit, then claimed to have been in Iraq and Afghanistan. One man's socialism is another man's neighborliness....
, who is Harris’ vice presidential running mate.

Intelligence agencies assessed that Russian influence actors created the content, the ODNI official said. A media review by the agencies showed "several indicators of manipulation" consistent with the actions of Russian actors, the official said.

That official said US intelligence concluded last weekend that the video was fake and the product of disinformation operatives, adding that it was consistent with ongoing Russian efforts to undermine the Democratic presidential ticket by fabricating allegations against Harris and Walz.

US intelligence agencies have been assessing for months that Russia would prefer that Trump retake the White House.

At Tuesday’s briefing for news hounds, intelligence officials said they expected more Russian amplification of protests if Harris wins the election.

"Russia would prefer the former president to win and they would seek to more aggressively undermine the presidency of the then-president elect [Harris]," the ODNI official said.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Report: Delegation from Moscow arrived in Israel today to discuss release of two Russian-Israeli hostages
[IsraelTimes] A delegation from Moscow reportedly arrived in Israel today to discuss negotiations for the release of two Israeli hostages who are dual Russian citizens held by Hamas in Gaza.

The Saudi Al-Hadath outlet reports that the delegation brought a message to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu from Russian President Vladmir Putin to end Israel’s ongoing military campaigns against Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon.

A source in Netanyahu’s office tells The Times of Israel that the Russian delegation’s visit was not connected to hostages held by Hamas.

The report comes after the Hamas leader Moussa Abu Marzouk told the RIA state news agency earlier today that the two hostages, Alexander (Sasha) Trufanov and Maxim Herkin, will be among the first to be released during an eventual hostage release, but only as part of a ceasefire deal and an exchange of hostages for Palestinian security prisoners.

It also comes as US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken is in Doha amid efforts to revive stalled hostage-ceasefire talks.

An Israeli delegation is expected to travel to Doha in the coming days to meet with US and Qatari negotiators.

It is believed that 97 of the 251 hostages abducted by Hamas on October 7 remain in Gaza, including the bodies of at least 34 confirmed dead by the IDF.

Hamas released 105 civilians during a weeklong truce in late November, and four hostages were released before that. Eight hostages have been rescued by troops alive, and the bodies of 37 hostages have also been recovered, including three mistakenly killed by the military as they tried to escape their captors.

Hamas is also holding two Israeli civilians who entered the Strip in 2014 and 2015, as well as the bodies of two IDF soldiers who were killed in 2014.

Senior Hamas official says terror group told Egypt it’s ready to stop fighting if Israel commits to truce, demands same terms of Israel’s complete surrender
[IsraelTimes] A senior Hamas official tells AFP that the terror group told Egyptian officials it was ready to stop fighting in Gaza if Israel committed to a ceasefire deal.

The official says a Hamas delegation discussed “ideas and proposals” related to a Gaza truce with Egyptian officials in Cairo earlier today.

Hamas-run Al Aqsa TV cites sources that the delegation to Cairo, headed by chief negotiator and deputy Hamas Gaza chief Khalil Al-Hayya, met with the head of Egypt’s general intelligence agency, Hassan Mahmoud Rashad.

“Hamas has expressed readiness to stop the fighting, but Israel must commit to a ceasefire, withdraw from the Gaza Strip, allow the return of displaced people, agree to a serious prisoner exchange deal, and allow the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza,” the official says, adding that the talks in Cairo were part of Egypt’s ongoing efforts to resume ceasefire negotiations.
Oh my. Those are Hamas’s original terms: demanding Israel surrender completely without any bending whatsoever.
Egypt and Qatar have acted as mediators between Israel and Hamas in months of talks that broke down in August without an agreement to end fighting that began when the Palestinian terror group launched its brutal onslaught on southern Israel on October 7, 2023.

The report comes as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu welcomed Egypt’s willingness to advance a deal for the release of hostages held by Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

Earlier today, Qatar and Washington’s top diplomats said that American and Israeli negotiators would gather in Doha in the coming days to try to restart talks toward a deal for a ceasefire and the release of hostages in Gaza.

Israel said to have delayed Iran strike after US intel leak of attack plans
All credit to the Biden-Harris administration, who have worked hard in so many ways to deserve it.
[IsraelTimes] Report by UK’s Times says Israel has developed an alternative course of action but must war-game it before proceeding due to the need to ‘change certain strategies and components’

Israel has been forced to delay a potential retaliatory attack on Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
after details of the planning were leaked from the US, Britannia’s The Times newspaper reported Thursday.

According to the report, citing an unnamed intelligence source with knowledge of Israeli deliberations, Israel is worried that even though no potential targets were named in the leak, the details provided could help Iran predict certain patterns of attack.

The Times said Israel has developed an alternative plan but needs to war-game it before proceeding.

"The leak of the American documents delayed the attack due to the need to change certain strategies and components," the source said. "There will be a retaliation, but it has taken longer than it was supposed to take."

Marked top secret, the documents first appeared online Friday on the Telegram messaging app and quickly spread among Telegram channels popular with Iranians.

On Tuesday, the FBI said that it was investigating the unauthorized release of the classified documents on Israel’s latest preparations for a potential retaliatory attack. Speaking to news hounds in Rome, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said there were no indications any employees from the Office of the Secretary of Defense were being probed for the leak.

The Islamic Theocratic Republic has been bracing for an Israeli reprisal after its latest direct attack on Israel, in which it fired 200 ballistic missiles that sent most of Israel to bomb shelters on October 1, killed a Paleostinian man in the West Bank, and caused damage in residential areas and at military bases. The IDF said there was no operational impact from the attack.

Iran said the missile assault came in response to strikes in Leb
...an Iranian satrapy until recently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozen flavors of Christians, plus Armenians, Georgians, and who knows what else? It is the home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers...

President Mahmoud Abbas dismissed Haniyeh from office on 14 June 2007 at the height of the Fatah-Hamas festivities, but Haniyeh did not acknowledge the decree and continues as the PM of Gazoo while Abbas maintains a separate PM in the West Bank...
. Israel has not grabbed credit for the killing of the latter.

Defense Minister Yoav Gallant on Wednesday told pilots and air crews that "after we strike in Iran, everyone will understand what you did in the preparation and training process."

Visiting the Hatzerim air force base, Gallant said, "Everyone who dreamed a year ago of beating us and attacking us paid a heavy price and are no longer in that dream."

Israel has held several major drills simulating long-range strikes on Iran over the /years in preparation for a possible confrontation with Tehran.

Netanyahu told US President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. Too old and senile to be prosecuted, not too old and senile to set national policy...
earlier this month that Israel’s retaliation will not include strikes on non-military sites.

Israel had previously been thought to be mulling attacks on Iranian oil infrastructure or nuclear sites, both opposed by the US for their potential to escalate fighting, including Iranian reprisals aimed at civilian infrastructure in Israel or other regional states aligned with the West.

However,
a woman is only as old as she admits...
Israel has signaled that its expected retaliation for the missile barrage could be widened as a result of a Hezbollah drone attack on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s private home in Caesarea on Saturday, which the premier has referred to as an attempted liquidation by "agents of Iran."

IDF releases more documents it says show cooperation between Hamas and Al Jazeera
Follow up to this story from yesterday.
[IsraelTimes] Army says papers shows terror group coordinated with network on covering up failed rocket launches and in some cases instructed outlet not to criticize it on air

The IDF on Thursday published further documents captured in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. i network not to criticize it, and in which the sides coordinated on concealing incidents of failed rocket launches.

The release came a day after the army publicized documents uncovered in the Gaza Strip that it said showed that six active Al Jazeera news hounds are operatives in Paleostinian terror groups.

The IDF said the latest documents proved direct communication and cooperation between the Qatari network and Hamas.

According to the army, the first document, which was issued by Hamas in 2022, provided Al Jazeera with instructions on how to cover up a failed Islamic Jihad
...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. rocket launch in Jabaliya, in which several non-combatants were killed.

The document instructed Al Jazeera not to use the word "massacre" to describe the incident, to display minimal images, and to ensure Hamas was not criticized in panel discussions on the channel.

In a second document, also from 2022, Hamas instructed journalist Tamer Almisshall to support the "resistance" in his coverage of Paleostinian Islamic Jihad during a 66-hour battle between Israel and the terror group, dubbed Operation Breaking Dawn.

The army said the document specifically instructed Al Jazeera not to criticize PIJ’s rocket capabilities or highlight its failed launches.

The military also released what it said was evidence of Hamas’s efforts in 2023 to establish a secure line between the terror group and the network for classified information and emergencies.

"The documents reveal how Hamas directs Al Jazeera’s media coverage to serve its own interests, preventing the public in Gaza and around the world from discovering the truth about its crimes against Gazook civilians," the IDF said in a statement.

On Wednesday, the army said it had uncovered documents in the Gaza Strip that showed six active Al Jazeera news hounds are operatives in the Hamas and Paleostinian Islamic Jihad terror groups.

The journalists were named by the IDF as Anas al-Sharif, Alaa Salameh, Hossam Shabat, Ashraf al-Sarraj, Ismail Abu Omar and Talal al-Arrouqi.

According to the IDF, al-Sharif has served as head of a rocket launching squad and a member of a Nukhba Force company in Hamas’s Nuseirat Battalion; Salameh as the deputy head of the Shaboura Battalion’s propaganda unit in Islamic Jihad; Shabat as a sniper in Hamas’s Beit Hanoun Battalion; al-Sarraj as a member of Islamic Jihad’s Bureij Battalion; Abu Omar as a training company commander in the East Khan Younis Battalion (and was maimed in an Israeli Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
several months ago); and al-Arrouqi as a team commander in Hamas’s Nuseirat Battalion.

"These documents are proof of the involvement of Hamas hard boyz in the Qatari media network, al-Jazeera," the IDF said.

It added that the named journalists are "spearheading" the spread of Hamas propaganda on Al Jazeera, especially in the northern Gaza Strip.

In a response, the network said it "views these fabricated accusations as a blatant attempt to silence the few remaining journalists in the region, thereby obscuring the harsh realities of the war from audiences worldwide."

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Secret Iranian missile storage site exposed by anti-regime group amid mounting regional tensions
[FoxNews] 'Decades of appeasement have emboldened this dictatorship,' Iranian dissident says.

A leading Iranian dissident group, the People’s Mojahedin of Iran (MEK), has provided Fox News Digital with information about a secret site where the Islamic Republic of Iran allegedly stores and prepares the missiles it uses against foes, sells to allies and provides to its proxies.

Located in a mountainous region outside of Eshtehard City, northwest of Tehran in Alborz province, the camp, known as the Shahid (Martyr) Soltani Garrison, is heavily guarded and surrounded by two rows of barbed wire. It has purportedly seen increased activity in the latter part of 2024, with the MEK noting that "more than ten trailers carrying missile parts" passed into the camp in July.

Among the weapons stored at the site are the Shahab-3, Qiam, Fateh and Fath series ballistic missiles, the MEK said.

Iran expert, Behnam Ben Taleblu, a senior fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, said after its "layered attack" on Israel in April, which involved about 300 drones, cruise missiles and ballistic missiles, the Islamic Regime "got rid of the low- and slow-flying" assets and "doubled down on ballistic" weapons. Iran launched more than 180 ballistic missiles into Israeli airspace on Oct. 1.

Taleblu noted that Iran utilized the same liquid-propellant systems from its April attack, the Emad and Ghadr ballistic missiles, which are evolutions of the Shahab-3. He said the October attack also involved the solid-propellant Kheibar Shekan and reportedly even the hypersonic Fattah-1 ballistic missile. An Israel Defense Forces spokesperson also confirmed to Fox News Digital that Iran’s recent attacks included Fattah-1 and Fattah-2 hypersonic ballistic missiles.

During the larger Oct. 1 attack on Israel, two U.S. destroyers intercepted about a dozen Iranian missiles. Neither the Pentagon nor the Defense Intelligence Agency responded to Fox News Digital’s questions about whether American assets have been targeted by the varieties of Iranian ballistic missiles said to be housed at the Eshtehard site, or whether the U.S. has intercepted any of these missiles in the region.

To protect Israel from further Iranian ballistic missile strikes, the U.S. sent its Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system to Tel Aviv, along with a cadre of 100 U.S. soldiers to operate the system. Taleblu says THAAD will "function as a critical patch in Israel’s existing, already very well-layered air-missile defenses," though with just 48 interceptors, Taleblu says THAAD’s long-term suitability is "debatable."
Meow…
It is unknown whether ballistic missiles targeting Israel were stored or prepared at the Shahid Soltani Garrison. It is also unknown whether the short-range ballistic missiles Iran provided to Russia, for which Iran was sanctioned by the U.S. Treasury and State departments, were held at the location.

The MEK provided satellite imagery showing two distinct sections of the Shahid Soltani Garrison. Above-ground storage sites "were established at least 15 years ago" and include a segment of one-floor warehouses and one three-floor warehouse that offer a combined 6,500 square meters of storage space. Around 10 buildings in another segment of the garrison offer up an additional 3,000 square meters of space. Underground tunnels constructed on the site between 2017 and 2021 offer more storage locations.

According to the report, the Al-Ghadir Missile Command, an element of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ Aerospace Force, is responsible for the camp. IRGC Brig. Gen. Partovi was the last known commander of the site. The MEK stated that Col. Mohammad Reza Hakimzadeh and Col. Barati of the Eshtehard Corps of the IRGC are responsible for administrative affairs related to the camp.

In 2010, the Al-Ghadir Missile Command was sanctioned by the U.S. as well as by the EU. Commanders within Al-Ghadir Missile Command, including Mahmoud Bagheri Kazemabad and Mohammad Agha Jafari, have also been subject to U.S. sanctions.

Ballistic missiles of likely and certain Iranian origin have previously targeted U.S. forces. Iran-backed militias fired an unknown close-range ballistic missile at Al Asad Air Base on Nov. 21, 2023, resulting in eight injuries and damage to infrastructure.

On Jan. 8, 2020, Iran launched 27 theater ballistic missiles toward Al Asad Air Base. Of these, 11 Fateh and Qiam missiles landed inside the U.S. base, according to a medical study of the attack’s effects. The missiles’ impact resulted in around 35 cases of traumatic brain injury or concussion.

Taleblu noted that countering Iran’s ballistic missile program will require several lines of effort. On the economic and political end of the spectrum, they are taking on Iran’s trade with China, going after Iran’s domestic and foreign supply chain "for the whole ballistic life cycle" and exposing the rotating array of individuals involved with the ballistic missile program to travel bans and sanctions. In tandem with covert or kinetic operations, the aforementioned efforts "can really handcuff this missile program," Taleblu explained.

Taleblu said the importance of maintaining advanced missile defense systems in order to deter Iranian weapons, hardening U.S. bases, and ensuring "the elements of deterrence by punishment are not only present, but are understood and are credible."

Report: American envoy Hochstein didn’t ask for changes to UN Resolution 1701 in Lebanon meetings
[IsraelTimes] US special envoy Amos Hochstein and Lebanon’s parliament speaker Nabih Berri have agreed on a draft agreement for a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah that is based on UN Resolution 1701, the Saudi Al-Arabiya network report.
God forbid Israel negotiate her own ceasefire. Because Israeli negotiators would not have settled for this nonsense.
Citing unnamed sources, the report says Hochstein didn’t request amendments to the 2006 resolution during his meeting in Lebanon this week.
Why?
Berri, a Hezbollah ally, told Al-Arabiya last week that Hochstein’s visit was “the last chance before the US elections” to reach a truce and said he would reject any amendments to 1701.

UN Resolution 1701, which ended the last round of conflict between Israel and Hezbollah in 2006, calls for southern Lebanon to be free of any troops or weapons other than those of the Lebanese state.

The resolution has gone largely unenforced since it was passed, allowing Hezbollah to build up a formidable arms cache and defensive capabilities, with neither UNIFIL peacekeepers nor the LAF willing to challenge the Iran-backed terror group.

Today’s Al-Arabiya report says Hochstein is waiting for Israel’s response to the proposal.
”Go to Hell,” probably isn’t diplomatic, even if it is deserved.
In Beirut earlier this week, Hochstein said that Lebanon and Israel just committing to Resolution 1701 would not be enough and that the United States was working to devise a formula to end the conflict once and for all.

Macron Announces 100 Million Euro French Aid Package for Lebanon
[Breitbart] French President Emmanuel Macron said Thursday his country would support Lebanon with 100 million euros, as Paris hosted an aid conference with big financial aims but slim diplomatic prospects.

“The war must end as soon as possible, there must be a ceasefire in Lebanon,” Macron said sitting alongside the country’s Prime Minister Najib Mikati.

The Lebanese government chief in turn called on “the international community to hold together and support efforts… to implement an immediate ceasefire”.

France has set a target of raising half a billion euros ($540 million) in aid for Lebanon, 100 million more than an initial UN appeal.

As well as its financial contribution, Macron said Paris would “contribute to equipping the Lebanese army” to re-establish control of the country’s south in line with UN Security Council resolution 1701, which sealed the end of the last Israel-Hezbollah war in 2006.

Paris is also seeking an increase in humanitarian aid for a country to which it has historic ties and which has a large diaspora in France.

The latest conflict between Israel and Lebanon’s Hezbollah has so far claimed more than 1,550 lives, according to an AFP tally based on official figures, and displaced 800,000 people according to the UN.

Israel launched a ground offensive against Iran-backed Hezbollah in southern Lebanon in late September, having exchanged fire over the border for a year following Hamas’ October 7, 2023 attack.

Hezbollah must “stop its provocations… and indiscriminate strikes” against Israel, Macron said.

But Israel “knows from experience that its military successes do not necessarily represent victory in Lebanon,” Macron said.

Israel has eliminated Hezbollah leaders over recent weeks.

“I’m not sure that you can defend a civilisation by sowing barbarism yourself,” he added.
How rude. Is this an area in which he has developed expertise?
Hopes for diplomatic progress in Paris may be stymied by the absence of Iran and Israel, who were not among the 70 countries and 15 international organisations invited, while the US was represented only by a deputy to Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

Iran Nuke Scientists Work it Out With a Pencil
Too late.
[IranWire] Iran's Atomic Energy Organization will implement new security protocols next week and ban specific electronic devices from its facilities and affiliated locations, IranWire has learned.

The restrictions will prohibit entry of certain laptops, tablets, and mobile phones, including devices manufactured by Motorola, Apple, and BlackBerry.

The measure comes amid heightened regional tensions following Israel's stated intention to respond to this month's missile attack by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari, former IRGC commander and current head of its cultural base, has confirmed the credibility of these threats.

The security upgrade appears motivated by concerns over potential espionage and sabotage operations.

Officials have drawn parallels to incidents like Hezbollah's pager explosions, which resulted in dozens of deaths and hundreds of injuries, including to the Iranian ambassador to Lebanon.

Despite some injured individuals receiving treatment in Iranian hospitals and being visited by officials like President Masoud Pezeshkian, media coverage of these incidents has been limited and controlled.

Iranian media coverage of related security incidents has been notably restricted, especially regarding diplomatic personnel affected by recent events.
