DR Congo jail break attempt leaves 129 dead
[GEO.TV] An attempted jail break at the Democratic Republic of the Congo
...formerly the Congo Free State, Belgian Congo, Zaire, and who knows what else, not to be confused with the Brazzaville Congo aka Republic of Congo, which is much smaller and much more (for Africa) stable. DRC gave the world Patrice Lumumba and Joseph Mobutu, followed by years of tedious civil war. Its principle industry seems to be the production of corpses. With a population of about 74 million it has lots of raw material...
's largest and chronically overcrowded prison this week has left at least 129 people dead, the interior minister said Tuesday.

The circumstances around the bid to bust out of Makala prison in the capital Kinshasa in the early hours of Monday remain unclear.

But Interior Minister Jacquemain Shabani in a statement released by video to the media on Tuesday announced a provisional corpse count of 129 people.

They included "24 who were shot after warnings", he said.

At least 59 others had been maimed and were receiving care, he added.

Witnesses told AFP that they had heard gunfire at around 2:00am on Monday and that it lasted for several hours in the area of the prison, a popular and residential neighbourhood.

On Monday, police had cordoned off the streets leading to the prison, AFP journalists at the scene saw.

The interior minister said many people had been crushed or suffocated and that a number of women had been raped. He gave no details on their identities.
On Monday morning, government front man Patrick Muyaya said only that the security services were at the scene and he called on residents to "not panic".

A few hours later, he told national television the situation was "under control".

Makala prison, the biggest in the vast central African nation, has capacity for 1,500 inmates.

With between 14,000 and 15,000 prisoners, it holds around 10 times the number it is meant to house, according to official statistics.

Thousands of Christians 'deliberately targeted' and killed in Nigeria: report
[NYPOST] The killing, persecution and displacement of Christians in Nigeria is ''unrelenting'' and ''a time bomb,'' according to a major new report.

Christians ''are deliberately targeted,'' as well as ''Christian communities, their livelihood(s), faith leaders and places of worship,'' according to the report by Open Doors International, a faith-based non-profit working to raise awareness of global persecution, aiming to mobilize prayer, support and action among Christians.

Christians are reportedly becoming ''an endangered species'' there, the report says.

''Last year alone, in Nigeria there were more people that were killed because of their Christian faith than all other places in the globe combined,'' Ryan Brown, the CEO Of Open Doors US, told Fox News Digital, adding ''to be specific, there were 4,998 Christians that were killed because of their faith in Nigeria last year.''

In testimonies recorded for the Open Doors International report, titled ''No Road Home,'' attacks on Christians are said to have been carried out by Islamist terror groups Boko Haram and the Islamic State of West Africa Province, and predominantly Muslim Fulani militants, who originally were herdsmen.

''When the Fulani gunmen came to attack, they could be heard shouting 'Allahu Akbar (Allah is the greatest), we will destroy all Christians,''' one interviewee claimed in the report.

At least 80 dead after suspected Boko Haram attack in Nigeria
[TheGuardian] At least 80 people have died and several are missing after an attack by suspected Boko Haram
... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality...
jihadists in Nigeria's north-eastern Yobe state, local officials have reportedly said.

''Around 150 suspected Boko Haram turbans armed with rifles and RPGs [rocket-propelled grenades] attacked Mafa ward on more than 50 cycle of violences around 4pm on Sunday,'' said Abdulkarim Dungus, a Yobe state police spokesperson, according to Agence La Belle France-Presse. ''They killed many people and burned many shops and houses. We are yet to ascertain the actual number of those killed in the attack.''

Dungus said it appeared to be a Dire Revenge attack ''for the killing of two Boko Haram turbans by vigilantes from the village''.

Bulama Jalaluddeen, a local official, added: ''From these figures it has been established that at least 81 people were killed in the attack.

''Fifteen bodies had already been buried by their relations by the time soldiers reached Mafa for the evacuation of the corpses. In addition to these, some unspecified number of dead victims from nearby villages who were caught up in the attack were taken and buried by their kinsmen before the arrival of the soldiers. Many people are still missing and their whereabouts unknown.''

Boko Haram and other jihadist groups have waged a 15-year insurgency in north-east Nigeria that has killed more than 40,000 people. Central and north-west Nigeria have been plagued for years by gangs of criminals, known as ''bandidos'', who raid villages, kill and abduct residents and burn homes after looting them.

By working alongside these gangs, jihadist groups have increasingly established a presence in central Niger state, officials and analysts say.

Rescue mission underway for oil ship off Yemen: CENTCOM …Never Mind - salvagers abandon attempt
[GEOTV] A rescue mission was underway Monday for an oil tanker still ablaze after being attacked by Houthi rebels off the coast of Yemen last month, according to US Central Command.

The Greek-flagged oil tanker Sounion was hit by the Huthis off the coast of Hodeida on August 21 while carrying 150,000 metric tons of crude oil.

In a post on X, CENTCOM said "salvage efforts are underway" in the southern Red Sea for the disabled vessel, "which is still on fire and threatens the possibility of a major environmental disaster."

The rebels said they had booby-trapped and detonated charges on the ship.

Such bad luck, Houthis. Fishing is going to be awful for a while, meaning your people will go even hungrier. Allah must really hates you.

#3  after being attacked by Houthi rebels

If Iran WAS shipping in a 'heavy' payload, and the optimal Plan B was a sinking, who better to blame? Anybody...who in the first world would shell a nuke?

Plan A would of course have been to capture and expose the vessel and it's contents, but 'sources would be compromised'.

I'll bet this would have been a payoff worthy of a Mossad banker traveling to Turkey.

It would seem that Turkey and Iran have different agendas for the region. Possibly a 'timing issue' due to the demise of Obama's token spokesman.

Maikop court arrests IS recruitment suspect
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[KavkazUzel] The Maykop City Court has arrested for two months a local resident who was previously detained by security forces on suspicion of recruiting for the Islamic State.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot", on August 31 it became known about the detention in Adygea of a suspected militant, whom security forces suspect of participating in a terrorist organization and recruiting residents of Maikop.

The Maykop City Court has arrested a local resident suspected of participating in the activities of a terrorist organization for two months, until October 29, the joint press service of the courts of Adygea reported.

The investigation believes that he recruited residents of Maikop to join the Islamic State terrorist organization, which is banned in Russia by the court, and that he swore allegiance to the leader of the banned organization, Interfax reported on September 2, citing a press service report.

Let us recall that earlier, security forces reported that the detainee had correspondence with members of a terrorist organization, and a criminal case was opened under Part 2 of Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ( “Organization of the activities of a terrorist organization and participation in such an organization,” which provides for up to 20 years of imprisonment, – note from the “Caucasian Knot” ).

"Caucasian Knot" also wrote that on July 11, the FSB reported that a native of one of the Central Asian countries  was preparing an attack on an Orthodox church in Maykop and the murder of clergy and security guards. In a video recording published by the agency, during interrogation, he said that after watching videos of supporters of the "Islamic State", he planned to kill a guard and set fire to the church.

A court in Maykop arrested 18-year-old native of Tajikistan Idris Idibekov for two months. On July 12, it became known that Idibekov had an accomplice from among local residents.

Europe
At least 12 dead in migrant boat capsize in English Channel
[KhaamaPress] On Tuesday, French Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin announced that at least 12 people have died after a boat carrying migrants colonists capsized while crossing from La Belle France to the UK in the English Channel.

French media reported that rescue operations are ongoing for more than 50 other individuals who were on the boat. The situation remains critical as rescuers work to find and assist the missing.

Earlier, the French Coast Guard spokesperson had reported that the condition of 10 people was critical. As of now, the identities of the dear departed migrants colonists are not yet known.

French television channel CNews reported that Minister Darmanin is expected to visit a town near the site of the incident later on Tuesday. His visit is part of ongoing efforts to manage the crisis and coordinate response efforts.

Darmanin noted on social media that emergency services are working hard to locate the missing individuals and provide aid to the victims. The focus is on both rescue operations and addressing the immediate needs of those affected.

According to British officials, more than 2,000 people have arrived in the UK by small boats over the past week. This arrival surge has intensified the focus on managing migration and improving safety measures.

The tragic loss of life in this latest incident underscores the dangers faced by migrants colonists and the critical need for coordinated international efforts to address illegal migration and ensure safer crossings.
Address, yes. But crossing should not be facilitated. Instead capture and return to home countries or a reasonable facsimile should be the order of the day.
The continued collaboration between La Belle France and the UK will be essential in tackling these pressing issues and preventing further tragedies.

Fifth Column
A group of 32 armed Venezualans took over an apartment building in Chicago tonight
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

Courtesy of Skidmark, Zero Hedge lays it out:
[ZeroHedge] Chicago, another sanctuary city that welcomed tens of thousands of illegal aliens during the Biden-Harris administration's first term, is now facing what could be third-world-like conditions similar to the chaos seen in the Denver suburb of Aurora.

Several X accounts that monitor 911 dispatch calls across the Chicago metro area report 32 armed Venezuelan gang members overran an apartment complex in Chicago.

"Listen as a 911 caller in Chicago, Illinois, reports that over 32 Venezuelans are trespassing in a residential building, displaying firearms, and occupying the courtyard with motorcycles," X account Rawsalerts wrote late Monday night.

Rawsalerts said, "The caller further mentions that all stairwells in the building are filled, creating a potential safety hazard. In response, officers were dispatched to the 6100 block of South King Drive on Monday after receiving reports of a large group of migrants allegedly armed and congregating in the building's courtyard. Upon arrival, officers conducted a thorough search of the premises. However, according to an officials no migrants were found in possession of weapons or motorcycles, and no immediate threat was identified."

The first point is obvious, gun-free Chicago and all that. My main point - as much as the media has tried to make this some figment of peoples' imagination, as this was happening in Chicago they everyday person there was already aware of what happened in Aurora.

Turkish police arrest Mossad's financial network manager
[HODHODYEMENNEWS] Authorities on Tuesday said Liridon Rexhepi, identified as the manager of Mossad's financial network in Turkey, was arrested by Istanbul Police.

Rexhepi, a Kosovon national, was transferring money to Mossad's field agents in Turkiye who filmed Mossad targets with drones, led psychological operations against Palestinian politicians and gathered intelligence about the Syrian field, Daily Sabah reported.

MIT claimed that Mossad has been sending money to its spies in Turkey from Eastern European countries, especially Kosovo. Some of the funds were transferred to informants in Syria.

Turkey warned Israel of "serious consequences" if it tries to hunt down members of the terror group living outside Paleostinian territories, including in Turkey.

Since then, Ottoman Turkish authorities have detained dozens of people, among them private Sherlocks, on charges of collecting data on individuals, mostly Paleostinians residing in Turkey, for Israeli intelligence.

In January, Turkey arrested 33 individuals suspected of spying for Israel, according to the country’s interior minister. The suspects were arrested in eight provinces across the country in what Ankara called Operation Mole.

Just a month later, in February, Ottoman Turkish police arrested seven suspects on suspicion of selling information to Mossad through private detectives, the state-run Anadolu news agency said. Seven more people, including a private detective, were arrested in March — also for selling information to Mossad. Another two were arrested in April.

Israel has not commented on the arrests.

In May, Turkey halted all trade with Israel, and in August, it filed a request with a UN court to join South Africa’s lawsuit accusing Israel of genocide in Gaza.

Erdogan has accused Israel of committing genocide in Gaza, called for it to be punished in international courts and criticized Western nations for backing Israel. He has compared Israel to Nazi Germany, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Nazi leader Adolf Hitler

Turkey and Israel normalized ties in 2022 by reappointing ambassadors following years of tensions. But those links quickly deteriorated after Hamas’s October 7 invasion.

Detained members of a Turkish nationalist group who assaulted two US military personnel, claim it was a protest against US support for Israel
Extended video and report following this story and this story from yesterday. The Americans were from the USS Wasp. The bad guys were members of Turkish Youth Union (TGB), revolutionary communist Kamelists (Ataturk, not US VP Harris), with the bad habit of attacking American military men and putting bags on their heads to punish them for polluting sacred Turkish soil..

#1  In a sane world, the Wasp would be underway to a port in Greece, and Turkish Ports would be off-limits for liberty for six months. Absent that kind of decisive economic statement to the Turks who would scream about lost revenue, the Marines/Sailors should never travel in less than squad-sized liberty elements.

I was in Panama with my USMCR unit in 1973. Presidente Torrijos had a habit of arresting US service personnel when outside the Canal Zone for petty offenses and then holding them for months to gain press and concessions. We had nine of us in a club and a "waitress" took offense at the size of the tip and attempted to provoke a reaction by repeatedly poking and slaping as we prepared to leave. Sensing trouble, we rose as a group and exited, noting five or six Panamanian Policemen grouped outside, clearly observing the provocation trough a window and hoping for a reaction to arrest us. We filed past them with care and took two cabs back to the Canal Zone and Ft. Gulick barracks. We never left the Zone again in groups of less than ten.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
IDF Discovers Subway Tracks Underneath Northern Gaza
[Breitbart] The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) revealed Tuesday that soldiers had discovered a railway track inside a Hamas tunnel underneath northern Gaza.

In a statement, the IDF said:

Since the beginning of the war, the IDF has been working to dismantle and neutralize the underground infrastructure of Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

Troops from the Engineering Unit of the Gaza Division and the Northern Gaza Brigade, in collaboration with the Yahalom Unit, uncovered and destroyed, based on prior intelligence information, an attack underground tunnel route of Hamas in the Beit Lahia area. The length of the destroyed tunnel route exceeds one kilometer.

The tunnel route that was destroyed was located and investigated over the past few weeks. The troops identified weapons, electrical infrastructure, and a transportation rail within the tunnel route.

Israel is slowly destroying Hamas’s tunnel network, which is thought to extend for hundreds of miles underneath the small territory.

Some tunnels have been large enough to drive vehicles through, including at least one smuggling tunnel underneath Rafah, near the Gaza-Egypt border.

At least some of the remaining Israeli hostages are thought to be held in the tunnels.

Protesters swarm Netanyahu’s home
[GEOTV] Several thousand demonstrators gathered outside Netanyahu's private home in central Jerusalem late Monday, chanting, ''Deal, Now'', and carrying coffins draped in the Israeli flag.

Scuffles broke out when police snatched away the coffins, and several protesters were arrested. Thousands more marched outside Netanyahu's Likud party in Tel Aviv, according to Israeli media.

Strip.
Jabalia is in north Gazoo.
Consequently, at least eight people were killed and multiple others maimed.

''A number of people who were maimed in the strike in front al-Fakhoura school have been taken to the Kamal Adwan Hospital,'' Al Jazeera reported the Wafa news agency as saying.

Israel presses West Bank raids that Palestinians say killed 27
[GEOTV] Israeli forces were operating Tuesday in the northern West Bank, nearly a week into military raids in the occupied territory that the Paleostinian health ministry said killed at least 27.

An Israeli air strike overnight in Tulkarem killed a 15-year-old Paleostinian, said a hospital source in the city.

In total, "there are 30 deaders and about 130 maimed in the West Bank since Wednesday," when the Israeli military launched a series of coordinated raids, the Paleostinian health ministry said in a statement.

US forces capture ISIS leader who was helping fighters escape from Syrian detention center amid terror group's bid for revival
Hattip Skidmark.
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] US forces have captured an ISIS leader who was helping fighters escape from a Syrian detention center.

Central Command (CENTCOM) said on Monday that it had captured Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
'controller' Khaled Ahmed al-Danal on September 1 with support from Syria Democratic Forces (SDF).

Al-Danal was 'assessed to be aiding efforts of detained IS fighters' days after five ISIS faceless myrmidons held in the Raqqah Detention Facility escaped on August 29.

The attempts to free their fighters held in detention is part of the terror group's bid to fuel 'ISIS revival', CENTCOM said.

ISIS faceless myrmidons recently grabbed credit for string of shocking attacks in Germany and Russia as well as a foiled terror plot on a Taylor Swift concert in Vienna.

The SDF have since recaptured two of the escapees: Russian national Imam Abdulwahed Akhwan and Muhammad Noh Muhammad from Libya.

But three ISIS fighters - Timor Talbrken Abdash, from Russia, and Shuab Muhammad al-Abdli and Atal Khaled Za, both Afghans, - remain on the lam.

'Over 9,000 ISIS detainees remain in over 20 SDF detention facilities in Syria, a literal and figurative "ISIS Army" in detention,' said Gen. Michael Erik Kurilla, a CENTCOM Commander.
