[BBC] United States border agents have intercepted a truck carrying more than $5m-worth of methamphetamine at the US-Mexico border hidden inside a shipment of watermelons.
The drugs were wrapped in plastic painted in two shades of green to resemble the fruit and placed among real watermelons.
More than two tonnes of methamphetamine - in a total of 1,220 packages - was seized by officers.

In response to the aerial bombardment, the RSF launched artillery strikes on civilian areas in al-Fasher, the capital of North Darfur state. The shelling caused further deaths and injuries, adding to the mounting humanitarian crisis in the region.

This is how complicated things can get in the Sudan: The Arab Islamist Military Government attacks the Rizayqat center. The Rizayqat are a very large Darfur and Bahr al-Ghazal Arab cattle nomad tribe that for decades was allied with the central government in Khartoum. For years it was used by the Islamists to attack the African South Sudanese. That the central government and Rizayqat are now seemingly at swords point demands explanation. That the Rizayqat have apparently joined forces with the Muslim African tribals of Darfur also demands explanation -- which will not be forthcoming from the useless Sudan Tribune.

Currently, Sudan's land and sea crossings are overseen by the Ministry of Transport. The country shares borders with the Central African Republic, Egypt, South Sudan, Eritrea ...is run by the People's Front for Democracy and Justice (PFDJ), with about the amounts of democracy and justice you'd expect from a party with that name. National elections have been periodically scheduled and cancelled; none have ever been held in the country. The president, Isaias Afewerki, has been in office since independence in 1993 and will probably die there of old age... , Æthiopia, Libya and Chad.

There is only one problem, the central Government does not control that border crossing. What it is implying is that it will cease its bombing and allow aid from Chad/Libya to reach the surrounded El Fasher which has yet to fall to the rebels.

The commercial ship was traveling in the Red Sea when it came under fire from armed boats and projectiles, according to the UN. It is believed the Houthis were responsible.
A report said that on Wednesday morning, the skipper of a commercial ship some 77 nautical miles from the port of Hodeidah alerted the UK Maritime Trade Operations that his vessel was being approached by two boats carrying a number of people.
There was an exchange of fire between armed crew on the boats and the ship’s guards. Two hours later, it was reported that two unidentified projectiles had damaged the ship, resulting in a fire and loss of engine power.
"The vessel is drifting and not under command. The Master also reports a small craft acting suspiciously in the vicinity," said a message from UKMTO, urging vessels in the region to stay alert and report anything suspicious.
Greek shipping minister, Christos Stylianides said the target ship was the Greek-flagged D/X Sounion, traveling from Iraq to Cyprus. The 25 crew members were safe, he added.
On Wednesday afternoon, UKMTO said the captain of a ship traveling in waters south of the city of Aden reported two explosions nearby. There were no injuries or damage caused.
The Houthi militia has not yet grabbed credit for the attacks, although previously this has happened hours or even days later.
The last spokesperson Yahya Sarea did so was on Aug. 7, when he claimed the Houthis had attacked US warships and a merchant ship in the Red Sea.

Biden has made a lot of comments about civilian fatalities in Gaza.
This probably prevents him from allowing the US military from making the kind of hits that are really needed, whether on fuel supplies, as Proc suggests or on significant command/control targets.

With the US Navy at his disposal, Biden is either unable or unwilling to secure commercial shipping routes on international water ways. I'm guessing he's unwilling more than unable. I hate to think the navy couldn't solve this problem in a day or two if the commander-in-chief would only give the order. This makes America look weak and foolish to the rest of the world. He should be impeached for dereliction of duty, not just for the border but for this scandal as well.

Biden makes a big deal of standing up to Putin, the leader or Russia. He spends hundreds of billions of dollars fighting a proxy war against Russia. But he quivers in fear of a rag-tag band of barbarians in Yemen. This is disgusting.

The incident occurred at Nagarkanda Bazar in Faridpur on Wednesday morning.
The dear departed was identified as Kabir Bhuiyan, 50.
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical College Hospital, Faridpur, ward master Enayet Hossain Sakhawat confirmed the death.
Some supporters were maimed and are receiving treatment in the hospital.
Shahidul Islam said: "I have heard that someone died in this incident, which is very saddening, and I will look into it. However,
a clean conscience makes a soft pillow... our party has a directive not to include outsiders, so we should avoid doing so."
At least three shops of Shahidul Islam Babul and his supporters were allegedly looted. Shama Obaid's supporters allegedly carried out the attack, vandalism and looting.
There is currently extreme tension in the area. Shama Obaid's supporters have taken full control of Nagarkanda market. All the shops in Nagarkanda Bazar were closed due to the clash.

1st of all.
It is HAMAS that is refusing to attend truce talks, not Israel.
2nd, GAZANS, have openly & historically supported HAMAS and other Terrorist groups.
3rd, GAZA leaders are the source of these numbers.
Naturally, I question the accuracy of any numbers GAZA presents.
