Former Cornell student sentenced to 21 months in jail for threats against Jews
[JPost] A former Cornell University student who in April pleaded guilty to posting online threats, including of death and violence, against Jewish students on campus, was sentenced on Monday to 21 months in prison, the US Justice Department said.

Patrick Dai, 22, was charged late last year for making online threats against Jewish students at the Ivy League school in Ithaca, New York. His 21 months in prison will be followed by three years of supervised release, the Justice Department said in a statement.

US government officials and civil society advocates have warned about rising threats against American Jews, Muslims and Arabs since the eruption of the Israel-Gaza war in October last year.
Key quotes

"The defendant's threats terrorized the Cornell campus community for days and shattered the community's sense of safety," US Attorney Carla Freedman for the Northern District of New York said in a statement.

"Mr. Dai's actions serve as a disturbing reminder of the terrifying hatred our Jewish communities encounter simply because of their beliefs," FBI official Craig Tremaroli added.
Cornell Jewish students threatened on university forum.

As part of his guilty plea, Dai had admitted that on Oct. 28 and Oct. 29, he threatened to bomb, stab and rape Jews on the Cornell section of an online discussion forum.

Arabia
Violent clashes erupt in Aden among African migrant groups
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] The al-Mansoura area in the city of Aden, which is under the control of the Saudi-led coalition, witnessed last night violent mostly peaceful festivities among African migrants colonists groups until the early hours of Sunday.

Media sources reported that festivities broke out on Saturday, between African Oromo immigrants colonists with hands, stones, and the use of sticks and iron until late hours of the night without intervention by the factions affiliated with the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC).

The STC factions were content to watch the festivities between the Oromo immigrants colonists, who became blocs, and the confrontations between them extended to al-Mansoura Palace Square, according to the sources.

Tensions still exist between the Oromoa, which reflects the state of security chaos that Aden has reached under the control of factions loyal to the UAE.

The sources stated that the festivities erupted when three Oromo immigrants colonists attacked an immigrant who was sleeping by throwing stones at him and hitting his head with the remains of cement blocks, and he sought the help of others in response to the attack before the fight developed to include dozens of them in central al-Mansoura.

In September last year, Aden witnessed a clash between two Æthiopian ethnic groups, the Oromoa and Amhara, which spread to restive Lahj

Major crude oil spill threatens residents in Shabwah
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] Local sources revealed an environmental disaster threatening residents of two districts east of Ataq, the center of Shabwah governorate, which is under the control of Saudi-led coalition factions.

Dr. Nasser Habtoor stated in a Facebook post that the major oil spill from the crude oil pipeline extending from the Jardan fields to several areas in the al-Rawdah and Habban districts is a health and environmental disaster, threatening citizens, their agricultural lands, and groundwater sources.

He explained that the crude oil leakage has mixed with water in the al-Matar area of al-Rawdah, which residents rely on for drinking, daily life, livestock, and irrigation. This issue could turn into a real tragedy.

Habtoor stressed the importance of halting the pipeline’s operation and conducting repairs, highlighting that the local authorities’ failure to address and maintain the pipeline constitutes a disaster on its own.

He urged residents to take all necessary precautions to protect themselves, their children, and their farms from the dangerous pollution.

Habtoor questioned, "How can crude oil continue to be pumped through the pipeline while the government claims to have ceased exports?"

The crude oil leakage in the al-Matar area of al-Rawdah has been ongoing since May, with local authorities loyal to the UAE showing no concern for the citizens’ lives.

[NINANEWS] The Spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yahya Rasool, announced today, Monday, the return of two Yazidi women kidnapped by ISIS faceless myrmidons from the Syrian side.

Rasool said in a statement, "According to the directives of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, the security services and intelligence departments continue to search for the kidnapped Yazidis intensively."

US military moves fighter jets to Jordan in military build-Up
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] The "Arab Defense" website reported that a squadron of US Navy F/A-18E Super Hornet fighter aircraft had landed in Jordan, coming from the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71).

The fighters were seen carrying four AIM-120 AMRAAM advanced medium-range air-to-air missiles and four AIM-9X Sidewinder short-range air-to-air missiles. All portable missiles are live missiles.

The media reported that the deployment of these fighter jets in Jordan was part of the United States’ steps to increase its military power in the Middle East in the wake of the possibility of Iran

Gaza corpse count at 39,897
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] The Hamas health ministry in Gaza said on Monday that the Israeli occupation army committed three massacres in different areas of the Gaza Strip during the past 24 hours, killing at least 142 civilians and injuring over 150 others, while a large number of victims are still under the rubble of bombed buildings or lying on roads.

In a statement, the health ministry said that at least 107 of those killed during the past hours were transported to hospitals.

The health ministry added that the death toll from the ongoing Israeli bombardments and shooting attacks, which started on October 7, climbed to 39,897 martyrs and the number of the wounded surged to 92,152 people.

The Gaza Strip has been under brutal bombardment since a cross-border operation was launched by Hamas’s armed wing, al-Qassam Brigades, on October 7.

Yeah, a "cross-border operation" is much nicer than a violent rampage of murder, rape and kidnapping that left a 1,000+ people dead.

Hamas kills one hostage and wounds two
[JPost] IDF says it lacks the necessary intelligence to confirm or deny Hamas's claims at this time.

One hostage held by Hamas in Gaza has been killed by the Hamas terrorist assigned to guard him, and another two female hostages have been seriously injured, the spokesperson of the Hamas armed wing, Abu Obeida, announced on Telegram on Monday.
"Look what you made me do"
The terrorist group stated that a committee was formed to investigate the incident and will announce the details later.

The IDF has reported that it does not have the intelligence support to confirm or deny the Hamas claims and will continue to inspect the reliability of the messages and uncover more information.

Defense Minister Yoav Gallant stated in a confidential review before the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee that "the number of hostages who are still alive within the humanitarian category is between 20 - 35, depending on the interpretation," KAN news reported on Monday evening.
Hostage talks

Hamas said on Sunday it had asked mediators to present a plan based upon past talks instead of engaging in new negotiations for a Gaza ceasefire deal and declined to attend the scheduled hostage ceasefire talks on Thursday.

Mediators have said that they are still working to hold the summit

Hezbollah attacks north Israel in response to Maaroub strike
[An Nahar] Hezbollah launched overnight into Monday salvos of rockets "in response" to Israeli attacks on south Leb

Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozen flavors of Christians, plus Armenians, Georgians, and who knows what else? , targeting troops stationed in northern Israel.

"Approximately 30 projectiles were identified crossing from Lebanon toward the area of Kabri," the Israeli military said Monday, reporting no casualties and announcing retaliatory strikes.

The Israeli military on Sunday said its forces had "struck a Hezbollah terrorist cell in the area of Taybeh" as well as "a military structure in the area of Derdghaiya".

"Following the strike, secondary explosions were identified, indicating the presence of weapons inside the structure" in Derdghaiya, it added.

An Israeli air strike on Sunday killed two Hezbollah fighters in Taybeh, with the health ministry reporting another death from an attack days ago.

The Israeli military said it had "struck throughout the day several Hezbollah military structures in the area of Adaisseh", which is next to Taybeh.

According to the health ministry, at least one Lebanese and 11 Syrians were maimed, two seriously, in an Israeli strike on Maaroub, near Derdghaiya.

Hezbollah fired Katyusha rockets at an Israeli military base in Ga'aton, near Nahariya, "in response to attacks on civilian homes, especially in Maaroub."

The group later targeted surveillance equipment in Metula and a post in the occupied Kfarshouba Hills.

Separately, the health ministry specified that a Lebanese man who had succumbed to injuries sustained in an Israeli strike "several days ago" on the southern village of Beit Leef was a Hezbollah fighter, not a civilian as earlier reported.

Hezbollah claimed several attacks against military positions in northern Israel on Sunday, including at least two using drones.
