It has been revealed that the illegal immigrant who allegedly shot a police officer in San Antonio, Texas over the weekend had nearly been deported, but was spared and allowed to remain in the United States by a judge after claiming he would face persecution if he was forced to return home to Venezuela. Jorge Chacon-Gutierrez, 25, first entered the country in November 2023.
On Sunday, the Venezuelan national died after being involved in a shootout with police during a domestic violence call. The officer in question was shot multiple times but survived, and is recovering from her injuries.
A source within the Department of Homeland Security told the New York Post that Chacon-Gutierrez was among a group of nearly 600 people who illegally crossed the border into the US last fall. Upon entering, he was processed by Customs and Border Protection agents for "expedited removal," but pleaded with officials to let him stay. An asylum officer rejected his claim of persecution, at which point he brought the matter before an immigration court. The judge lifted his removal order, and he was allowed to remain in the country, with another court appearance scheduled for 2026.
Less than a year later, he was involved in the incident in question. Around 3 am Sunday, police responded to reports from Chacon-Gutierrez's girlfriend that he had assaulted her. According to the Daily Mail, San Antonio Police Chief William McManus said that when they arrived on scene, the Venezuelan national was "laying in bed with a rifle by his side." As officers entered the apartment, "he started shooting."
The officers responded with shots of their own, before fleeing the apartment. A short time later, SWAT officers entered and "saw the suspect was deceased," though it was not clear whether Chacon-Gutierrez had been struck by an officer's bullet or killed himself. Meanwhile, the officer was taken to hospital and underwent surgery hours later.

The memo added that "Credible human sources from Colorado provided" the intelligence via the Albuquerque Police Department.
The warning comes as Denver has gotten 42,000 migrants colonists — more per capita than any other US city — and many of them are from Venezuela.
The prison gang, whose name means "The Aragua Train" — a reference to the Aragua region in Venezuela — has infiltrated the US by sending members posing as asylum seekers across the southern border.
From there, its members have flocked to major US cities including New York, Chicago, Miami and Denver, where they engage in money laundering, gun smuggling, theft and human trafficking, according to reports.
The US Border Patrol only began tracking the group last year and has recorded catching 70 of its members, according to federal data.
However,

People held a silent protest in Southport for the innocent people who were stabbed and when the people were near the mosque they all got violent mostly peaceful. A police van was burnt and the situation was accompanied by thick smoke, one policeman received bruises on the face, including a broken nose.
Policemen wearing black helmets and armor patrolled the territory and amid slogans of "No surrender!" and "English till I die." Firecrackers, car alarms, police siren, and hovering helicopters of police inspection were the signs of the event.
Yesterday, the girls were learning a Taylor Swift dance and basic yoga moves on the first week of summer break, as a male suspect carrying a knife charged into the studio, which the police stated.
He’s been identified as Ali Al-Shakati, 17, born in Cardiff, Wales, to well-behaved Christian immigrants from Rwanda. Young Master Al-Shakati had in his short life already put himself on an MI-6 watchlist and gotten mental health services after requesting asylum upon arriving to England by boat last year. No doubt you, too, are puzzled by the contradictions in the information thus far accumulated, dear Reader.

[FoxNews] U.S. forces in Iraq conducted a defensive airstrike in the Musayib in Babil Province on Tuesday evening, a U.S. military official confirmed to Fox News.
The strike was carried out at 5 p.m. ET and targeted combatants attempting to launch one-way attack uncrewed aerial systems or OWAUAS, the official said.
"Based on recent attacks in Iraq and Syria, U.S. Central Command assessed that the OWAUAS posed a threat to U.S. and Coalition Forces," the official told Fox News. The strike comes after four rockets were launched last week near Ain al-Asad airbase, which houses U.S. troops.
There were no reported injuries, and none of the rockets landed inside the base in the July 25 attack, a U.S. defense official told Fox News.

[Jpost] The city has been on edge for days ahead of an anticipated Israeli attack in retaliation in Majdal Shams, where Israel and the United States have blamed Hezbollah for the attack.
Israeli Air Force fighter jets killed Hezbollah's most senior military commander and the head of its Strategic Unit, Fuad Shukr "Sayyid Muhsan," in the area of Beirut Tuesday afternoon.
Shukr is a Hezbollah commander who was responsible for the strike on Majdal Shams in the Golan Heights a few days earlier, which killed 12 Israeli Druze youth.
The Hezbollah official had a $5 million bounty "on his head," according to the United States Rewards for Justice.
Shukr was Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah's military adviser and has been active in the terrorist organization for 30 years, where he was the head of the terrorist group's operations room, three senior security sources told Reuters. Shukar also goes by the names "Hajj Mohsen" and "Muhsin Shukr."
Fuad was responsible for the majority of Hezbollah's most advanced weaponry, including precise-guided missiles, cruise missiles, anti-ship missiles, long-range rockets, and UAVs, the IDF reported. He was responsible for building Hezbollah forces and planning and executing terror attacks against the State of Israel.
Shukr was sanctioned by the United States in 2015.
Fuad joined Hezbollah in 1985 and has held several senior positions within the terrorist organization. He was also a member of the Jihad Council, Hezbollah's most senior military forum.
In the 1990s, Fuad orchestrated numerous attacks against the IDF and the South Lebanon Army. In 2000, he was directly involved in the abduction of the bodies of three IDF soldiers: St.-Sgt. Benyamin Avraham, St.-Sgt. Adi Avitan, and St.-Sgt. Omar Sawaid. They were killed by Hezbollah terrorists while patrolling the security fence adjacent to Har Dov.
Since then, Fuad has planned and directed numerous terror attacks against innocent civilians.
Directly after the strike, a loud blast was heard, and a plume of smoke could be seen rising above the southern suburbs of the Lebanese capital as a result of the strike, a stronghold of the Lebanese terrorist group.
Two people were killed in the attack, Saudi news source Al-Hadath reported.
CASUALTIES IN STRIKE
A correspondent for Al-Mayadeen, a news source affiliated with Hezbollah, said that the strike in the city was in a densely populated area and that there were about 10 wounded - not clarifying if those wounded were civilians or terrorists. State media, on the other hand, said that one woman was killed and seven people were wounded.
The correspondent also claimed that the strike was at a residential building adjacent to the Bahman Hospital.
Lebanon's state-run national news agency said the strike targeted the area around Hezbollah's Shura Council in the Haret Hreik neighborhood of the capital.
The US State Department said on Tuesday that the United States will continue pursuing diplomacy to avert an escalation of the conflict between Israel and the Lebanese group Hezbollah.
Earlier on Tuesday, Hezbollah said it fired at Israeli warplanes that broke the sound barrier in Lebanese airspace, adding that it forced the warplanes to turn back.

[NYPOST] Israel launched an Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... in the Lebanese capital of Beirut Tuesday — targeting a Hezbollah commander accused in the slaughter of 12 children in a rocket attack over the weekend.
The Israeli military confirmed in an X post that it was behind the strikes, which it says were intended to take out the leader believed to be responsible for Saturday’s massacre at a soccer field in the Israel-controlled Golan Heights.
"The IDF carried out a targeted strike in Beirut, on the commander responsible for the murder of children in Majdal Shams and the killing of numerous additional Israeli civilians," they wrote in a statement.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu pledged a "swift, harsh and painful" response to the vicious rocket attack by Hezbollah, which also injured 40 civilians.
"These children are our children... The state of Israel will not, and cannot, let this pass," he said. "Our response will come and it will be harsh."

Flights to Beirut airport were canceled starting Monday amid fears of disruptions caused by Israel’s retaliatory strike.
Since the attack on the soccer field Israeli forces have conducted several airstrikes in southern Lebanon, including a drone attack Monday that reportedly killed two Hezbollah operatives.
IDF followed that strike with additional barrages that destroyed several of the Islamist turban group’s weapons caches, as well as infrastructure in Lebanon.
Hezbollah has bravely denied any role in the attack.
