[IsraelTimes] A federal judge has ordered the University of Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,, Los Angeles, to craft a plan to protect Jewish students, months after pro-Paleostinian protests broke out on campus.
Three Jewish students sued the university in June, alleging that they experienced discrimination on campus amid demonstrations against the Israel-Hamas ..a regional Iranian catspaw,... war. Yitzchok Frankel, a UCLA law student who is Jewish, said in the lawsuit that he declined an invitation from the director of student life to help host a lunch gathering because he did not feel safe participating.
"Under ordinary circumstances, I would have leapt at the chance to participate in this event," Frankel said. "My Jewish identity and religion are integral to who I am, and I believe it is important to mentor incoming students and encourage them to be proud of their Judaism, too."
But Frankel argued UCLA was failing to foster a safe environment for Jewish students on campus.
UCLA spokesperson Mary Osako says the school is "committed to maintaining a safe and inclusive campus, holding those who engaged in violence accountable, and combatting antisemitism in all forms."
"We have applied lessons learned from this spring’s protests and continue to work to foster a campus culture where everyone feels welcome and free from intimidation, discrimination and harassment," Osako says in a statement.
The university was ordered to craft a proposed plan by next month.
[IsraelTimes] Hodeida port official says operations resumed just days after Israeli fighter jets dealt a heavy blow in retaliation for Houthi rebels killing man in Tel Aviv drone strike
An Israeli strike on Yemen ...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of... ’s Iran's Houthi sock puppets ...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The legitimate Yemeni government has accused the them of having ties to the Iranian government. Honest they did. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews They like shooting off... ummm... missiles that they would have us believe they make at home in their basements. On the plus side, they did murder Ali Abdullah Saleh, which was the only way the country was ever going to be rid of him... -controlled Hodeida port has caused at least $20 million in damage, adding to losses due to the destruction of fuel storage facilities, a port official said on Monday.
The July 20 attack on Hodeida, the main harbor under the control of the Iran-backed Houthi rebels, destroyed most of the port’s oil storage capacity and triggered a massive inferno that burned for days.
Israel struck the port in western Yemen after a drone launched by the Houthis on July 19 struck Tel Aviv and killed an Israeli man.
The rebel group said nine people were killed in the retaliatory strike — the first attack ever claimed by Israel on Yemen.
The strike, carried out by dozens of Israeli aircraft, targeted fuel reports and the port’s energy infrastructure, as well as four large container cranes. Israel said the port in general, and the cranes specifically, were used to import Iranian weapons.
Speaking to AFP on Sunday from the harbor after operations resumed last week, port official Nasr al-Nusairi relayed the results of a preliminary damage assessment, saying two of the cranes were destroyed, a small vessel was burnt and a number of buildings were torched.
"There is also damage to the docks," said Nusairi, the vice president of the Yemen Red Sea Ports Corporation, which runs the Hodeida harbor.
Nusairi estimated the cost of port damage to "exceed $20 million," noting, however, that the sum does not factor in losses incurred by the destruction of fuel storage facilities which "is the responsibility of the oil ministry."
The Israel Defense Forces said last week that it estimated the strike to have been a major blow to the Houthi economy. Taking the cranes out of service would also prevent the group from bringing in more Iranian weapons via the port, it said.
The port damage caused a temporary interruption of activities but operations resumed quickly, Nusairi said.
The first two container ships docked in Hodeida three days after the Israeli strike, according to Houthi officials.
The port appeared to be operational on Sunday, with container ships anchored on its docks and workers unloading containers using cranes, according to an AFP photographer who toured the area.
[IsraelTimes] Foreign Secretary David Lammy said earlier this month that even if sales of offensive arms are suspended due to Gaza war, defensive weapons exports will continue.
Jerusalem is concerned that the UK may cease exporting arms to Israel in the coming days, according to several Hebrew media reports Monday, following other steps taken by the new Labour government to reverse the previous government’s policy on Israel amid the war with Hamas ..a regional Iranian catspaw,... in Gazoo

It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... After the UK earlier this month restored funding to UNRWA — the UN agency for Paleostinian refugees and their descendants — and withdrew its objection to the International Criminal Court prosecutor’s request for arrest warrants against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, several outlets said that Israel believes that within the next few days, the UK could announce an end to the sale of arms to Israel.
The Ynet news site, which didn’t cite sources, said Israel is concerned that if the UK were to end weapons exports, other countries could follow.
Other outlets then reported similar details, some citing unnamed diplomatic sources.
While still in the opposition, UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy had said earlier this year that the government should suspend the sale of British arms if there was a clear risk they might be used in a serious breach of humanitarian law.
Now in government, he said last week that he had requested an assessment of the legal situation regarding weapons use in Gaza, and that he hoped to be able to communicate any decisions with "full accountability and transparency."
The defense secretary, who has said he wants a balanced position on Israel and Gaza, signaled earlier this month that even in the event that the UK limits the sale of offensive weapons, it would not implement a blanket ban on arms sales to Israel.
Questioned by a Green Party politician on whether he would act to stop "all UK arms exports to Israel," Lammy answered in the negative, stressing the need for Israel to have access to defensive weapons.
"Israel is a country surrounded by people who would love to see its annihilation," Lammy said at the time. "It is being attacked by the Iran's Houthi sock puppets ...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. "For those reasons, it would not be right to have a blanket ban between our country and Israel," he added.
While the UK’s previous Conservative government was a strong supporter of Israel’s right to defend itself following the October 7 Hamas terror onslaught, Rooters found in June that the value of Britannia’s approvals of new arms licenses had dropped sharply after the start of the war, with the value of permits granted for the sale of military equipment to its ally falling by more than 95 percent to a 13-year low.
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Dramatic footage has emerged from inside El Salvador's mega-prison for gang members showing its concrete confinement cell and impenetrable security.
The Centre for the Confinement of Terrorism (CECOT) in Tecoluca is home to 40,000 of the world's most dangerous men who will never be released - each one with at least one homicide conviction.
And now YouTuber Nick Shirley has offered one of the most in-depth looks at the prison's interior yet.
He also takes a tour of the solitary confinement chamber, a narrow cell comprising only a raised concrete platform used as a bed alongside a rudimentary toilet basin.
There is no mattress on the bed and anyone finding themselves in a solitary is not given any sheets to slip on.
A sink is filled with cold water for inmates to wash on - and natural light comes from a small round hole drilled into the thick concrete ceiling.
Footage from the inside shows topless and heavily tattooed inmates lined up under the watchful eye of heavily-armed guards at the institution which has been a key part of a concerted effort to drive down El Salvador's murder rate.
The number of homicides in the Central America nation dropped 70 percent last year as authorities under the leadership of President Nayib Bukele cracked down on criminals both inside and outside the jail.
'As of right now we have not had one attempt to escape or disorder inside the prison,' a security guard told YouTube content creator Nick Shirley as he displayed a enormous hidden armory designed to deal with rioters.
[NBC Chicago] Pro-Palestinian protesters want to know what the security footprint will be around the United Center during the Democratic National Convention later this summer. Now, amid their ongoing legal battle with the city of Chicago, the protester's attorney is proposing to depose U.S. Secret Service agents and other decision makers to find out that information...
The coalition, which represents 125 protest organizations and counting, has been fighting a legal battle with the city over its denial of protest permits. The city declined the protester's request to set up at Union Park, just blocks away from the United Center, offering a spot several miles away on Columbus Drive instead. Protesters have maintained the spot near Grant Park is not a viable solution because it is not within "sight and sound" of the convention hall.

Thanks, tw. Interesting. I can see why Arabic is a great language for mustache cursing.
When they start doing the enunciation play...
It was delightfully overdone. "Look at me! I'm totally authentic and down with the murderous indigenes. Also, Genocide!". Reminded me of Obama carefully saying Tal-EEE-ban.

[GEO.TV] Iran's new President Masoud Pezeshkian on Monday warned Israel against attacking Leb ...an Iranian satrapy currently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozen flavors of Christians, plus Armenians, Georgians, and who knows what else? It is the home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers... as tensions soar over a deadly rocket strike in the Israeli-annexed Golan Heights blamed on Tehran-backed Hezbollah.
"The Zionist regime (Israel) will make a great mistake with heavy consequences if it attacks Lebanon," Pezeshkian said during a call with French President Emmanuel Macron, according to the Iranian president's website.
Pezeshkian assumed official responsibilities on Sunday after official endorsement from supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamanei, and is to be sworn in to parliament on Tuesday.

They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... (ISIS) left northeast Syria's (Rojava) al-Hol camp on Sunday, heading to the eastern Deir ez-Zor province, according to a war monitor. This move marks the latest effort by Rojava authorities to empty the camp.
The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported that 82 families, consisting of 346 people, left the notorious camp. This move aligns with the decision by authorities in Rojava to reduce the camp's population.
This was the second batch of Syrian families to leave the camp in recent months. In May, 254 people from 69 families left the camp and returned to Deir ez-Zor.
The return of the families came following coordination between the Rojava authorities and the tribal chiefs in Deir ez-Zor.
Tens of thousands of people joined ISIS from across Europe, Central Asia, the Middle East, and North Africa. The Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) captured more than 10,000 ISIS snuffies and their families during the conflict. The majority of them are Syrian or Iraqi, and about 2,000 are from other countries. The fighters are kept in detention centers while the families are kept in camps.
The majority of the ISIS family members are held in al-Hol camp, which houses 45,355 people, mostly women and kiddies. This number includes 21,633 Syrians and 17,022 Iraqis, according to the latest figures from the US-led global coalition against ISIS.

[Rudaw] The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) on Tuesday said that its partnered operations with local forces in Iraq and Syria resulted in at least 44 suspected Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... (ISIS) members killed and 166 others detained during the first six months of 2024.
At least 30 ISIS operatives were killed and 74 others were captured in 137 operations conducted in Iraq alongside local security forces in the first half of the year, according to the CENTCOM statement. In 59 joint operations with the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) during that same period, a total of 14 ISIS operatives were killed and 92 were detained.
The operations in both countries led to the killing of eight big shots of the group and the arrest of 32 others.
"These leaders include those responsible for planning of operations outside of Syria and Iraq, recruiting, training, and weapons smuggling. The removal of these individuals from their leadership positions further degrades ISIS capabilities to conduct external operations in the U.S. and allied nations," read the CENTCOM statement.
Baghdad has downgraded the threat that ISIS poses, saying that the group has been confined. The Iraqi government, under pressure from Iran-backed gangs to expel US forces from the country, has begun talks with Washington to wind down the coalition mission.
The US-led coalition advises and provides aerial assistance to Kurdish Peshmerga forces and the Iraqi army, as well as the SDF in the fight against ISIS.
