Umma party religious leader urges unity amid division over Tagadum membership
[SUDANTRIBUNE] Amid growing internal divisions within the National Umma Party over participation in the Coordinating Council of Democratic Civil Forces "Tagadum", Abdel Mahmoud Abu, Secretary-General of the party’s religious wing, the Ansar Affairs Authority, has issued a series of recommendations aimed at preventing a split.

In a statement, Abu urged party leaders to "close the gaps that deepen disagreements" and view recent events as a "practice exercise for democracy." He called for reconciliation and a renewed focus on activating the party’s institutions, ensuring members are informed and involved in decision-making.

The dispute centres on the party’s involvement in Tagadum. The Presidency and Coordinating Council favour participation, while the party leader and General Secretariat oppose it. The disagreement has escalated into a public exchange of statements.

Abu emphasized the need for a consultative approach, respecting the mandates of party leaders while keeping institutions informed. He also recommended assigning tasks to specialized cadres to assist institutions in fulfilling their roles, especially given that their mandates have been extended due to unforeseen circumstances.

Internal strife within the party intensified following last week’s inaugural conference of the Tagadum coalition. A group of National Umma Party leaders, calling themselves the "Institutional Reform" group, held a presser in Port Sudan
...a Moslem country located in the Horn of Africa. It is noted for its affinity for rule by ex- or current generals, its holy men, and for the oppression of the native Afro population by its Arab conquerors. South Sudan, populated mostly by the natives, split off from Sudan proper, which left North and South Darfur to be oppressed by the guys with turbans...
, criticizing Tagadum and the acting party leader, a key figure in the coalition.

The rebellious group condemns the coalition for its alleged backing of the Rapid Support Forces.

Acknowledging these signs of division, party figure Zeinab al-Sadiq al-Mahdi revealed in an interview with Sudan Tribune that differing positions among party leaders have become increasingly apparent.

Acting party leader Fadlallah Burma Nasir deemed the presser "unconstitutional" and in violation of the party’s constitution and political line. He vowed to hold the participants accountable through party disciplinary procedures.

#1  Interesting development. The historic Umma Party of Sadiq al-Mahdi straddled both central and western Sudan (Khartoum and El Fasher, Darfur). Burma Nasir noted in article was a Kordofan satrap and Sadiq amigo who became irrelevant during the Islamist military dictatorship. It appears that Sadiq's family is now trying to hold the Umma together just as Darfur is being lost to the Nile Arabs who dominated the heartland since Sudan independence. It took fifty years to resolve the North Sudan-South Sudan civil war. So, don't look for a quick resolution to the present war of the Sudan central vs. the periphery.

Berlin Israeli Restaurant Closes ‘Due to the happenings of October 7th’
Source link is in German. Google translation link here.
[BILD] The Jewish community met in the Israeli restaurant "Bleibergs" in Berlin-Wilmersdorf. But after the terrorist group Hamas attacked Israel on October 7, 2023, everything changed. The guests stayed away from Berlin's first kosher restaurant. Now the restaurant has finally closed.

"Suddenly the rooms were just empty. The tourists from Israel were our business. Fewer Orthodox Jews are also coming to Germany from other countries," says Jewish-Israeli restaurateur Chaimi Fröhlich (49), who ran "Bleibergs" for seven years. "Germany is no longer a safe place for Jewish people."

Some Berliners have also been afraid to visit an Israeli restaurant since October 7th. In addition, there were anti-Semitic messages that the "Bleibergs" received via social networks.

This is a link to the restaurant's home page.

Fifth Column
Portland teachers union publishes guidebook on 'organizing for Palestine' in public schools
[FoxNews] The handbook alleges that teachers were censored for teaching, displaying, or pushing any kind of 'pro-Palestine sentiments'

Several hundred pro-Palestinian demonstrators marched through the streets of downtown Portland, starting and ending at city hall.

A teachers union that represents employees in the Portland Public Schools (PPS) released a guide on how to teach anti-Israel views in schools.

Oregon Educators for Palestine, in association with the Portland Association of Teachers (PAT}, released the handbook, titled "Know Your Rights! Teaching & Organizing for Palestine Within Portland Public Schools," allegedly in response to teachers being censored and facing "discrimination and harassment" at "the hands of PPS District leadership."

The handbook alleges that teachers were censored for "teaching about Palestine, posting pro-Palestine sentiments in schools, and even those wearing Pro-Palestine messages."

They list examples of district censorship including of "student work on the topics of Settler Colonialism and Zionism" and staff members "wearing clothing with the phrase 'From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be Free,' claiming the phrase constituted hate speech and threatening to write up staff for insubordination if worn again."

The teachers union claims the "censorship" conflicts with district policies, pointing to the district’s Civic Engagement and Unrest guidebook that states support for Black Lives Matter is not a "political statement" and not "associated with a specific candidate or political campaign" and thus allowed.
Next time don’t stand with the Black Blockers, O school district board.
One of the sections in the Oregon Educators for Palestine guidebook titled "Palestine in the classroom" prepares teachers for how to respond to students’ questions about the issue.

"Root your answer in facts and ask them more questions to help them develop their own opinions," the guidance reads. "Remind them that what we are seeing is not a long-standing hostility between Jewish and Arab or Muslim people. Palestinian resistance is a political struggle for self-determination against colonial and apartheid rule that has roots in the late 19th and early 20th Centuries."

The handbook also informs teachers of their legal rights, citing state law that employees are immune from retaliation against their political activities outside of work, and offering support for when facing pushback from administrators.

The guide further argues, "Teaching about Palestine is also protected under Oregon’s Ethnic Studies Standards."

Portland Public Schools told Fox News Digital that "to be clear, the curriculum and guide the PAT posted is not part of the PPS curriculum."

They added that the district is "committed to fostering an environment in all our schools and classrooms where every student feels safe, supported, and valued."

"It is our expectation that staff create these spaces by facilitating respectful, age-appropriate, and standards-based learning and contextualization of major world events such as the ongoing Israel-Hamas war or, before that, the war in Ukraine," the statement read. "When these expectations of staff are not met – such as when a teacher engages in political advocacy while working – our process is to talk with the teacher about our expectations and direct corrections, removal, or replacement of inappropriate content."

The main reason western educational system is $hit is that teachers are NOT qualified (I've taught from elective courses in university to first grade - in that order). And the teachers low qualification - on both their speciality, and general teaching skills - is why they're politically active (a form of compensation).

Mistrial declared for torch wielder at at Charlottesville ‘white nationalist’ rally
[IsraelTimes] Trial was the first test of a Virginian law, inspired by Klu Klux Klan cross burnings, that makes it a felony to burn something to intimidate and cause fear of injury or death.

A Virginia judge declared a mistrial after jurors deadlocked on charges against a man accused of using a flaming torch to intimidate counter protesters during a 2017 gathering of white nationalists in Charlottesville.

The trial for Jacob Joseph Dix of Clarksville, Ohio, was the first test of a state law that makes it a felony to burn something to intimidate and cause fear of injury or death. After deliberating for about 12 hours over two days, jurors in Albemarle County Circuit Court announced Thursday that they were deadlocked. Judge H. Thomas Padrick declared a mistrial Thursday evening.

Indictments unsealed last year showed 11 people had been charged with intimidation by fire, but prosecutors have not said whether additional defendants were also charged. Five people have pleaded guilty to the charge. Dix was the first to go on trial.

Legislators passed the 2002 law after the state Supreme Court ruled that a cross-burning statute used to prosecute Ku Klux Klan members was unconstitutional.
The charge carries a maximum sentence of five years.
On Tuesday, prosecutors showed the jury videos of 300 to 400 white nationalists marching through the campus of the University of Virginia, carrying torches, shouting Nazi slogans and surrounding a much smaller group of anti-racist counter protesters, an event that ended in chaos and fighting between the two groups.
Some of those so-called “white nationalists” were Black, and many were there to protest Antifa acting on the Progressive project to pull down historic statues to erase American history, protected by Progressive multibillionaire-funded Democratic Party politicians and Soros district attorneys, but all were tarred with the label of Nazi white nationalists. All of the Antifa cadres were just that…
Dix’s lawyer, Peter Frazier, told the jury nothing Dix did the night of Aug. 11, 2017, was criminal, and that the chants he joined in, including, "You will not replace us!" were free speech protected by the First Amendment.

Henrico County Commonwealth’s Attorney Shannon Taylor, who was appointed as a special prosecutor, said she intends to try the case again and will see if there is any other evidence to pursue.

"We appreciated the enormous amount of time that the jury took to consider this case of first impression," she said.

After the clash at the university, violence broke out the next day when a "Unite the Right" rally was planned.
That’s the one where the gun toters were from several chapters of Redneck Revolt/John Brown Gun Club — which calls itself Antifa’s militia wing — pretending to be white supremacists. In a just world, they would be the ones tried and fined.
After police declared the gathering an unlawful assembly and the crowd began to disperse, James Alex Fields Jr., a white supremacist from Maumee, Ohio, intentionally rammed his car into a crowd of counterprotesters, killing one and injuring dozens. Fields is serving a life sentence for murder and hate crimes.
He is also in our archives as James A. Fields, diagnosed schizophrenic among other things, poor man. Hopefully he is getting the treatment he needs in prison.
But Dix's lawyer, Peter Frazier, told the jury nothing Dix did the night of Aug. 11, 2017, was criminal, and that the chants he joined in, including "You will not replace us!" were free speech protected by the First Amendment.

"He didn't shake his torch or try to hit somebody with it," Frazier said.

"He is not guilty of any crimes," he said.

The two days of demonstrations were organized in part to protest the planned removal of a statue of Confederate General Robert E. Lee. It was believed to be the largest gathering of white nationalists in a decade.

Henrico County Commonwealth's Attorney Shannon Taylor, the special prosecutor in the case, told the jury that under the 2002 law, it doesn't matter if Dix actually assaulted anyone during the march. What matters, she said, is that he was one of the people who carried a burning torch to intimidate the counter-protesters. "He chose to engage in behavior that gave people the fear of being harmed," she said.

Dix, 29, of Clarksville, Ohio, told The Daily Progress newspaper that he has changed during the last seven years.

"I’m kind of on trial for a past life," he told the newspaper during a court hearing in January.
One prospective juror, the sole Black person in the pool, said she once worked a part-time job with Unite the Right organizer Jason Kessler; she was not selected.

At the center of it all is the 29-year-old Dix, a truck driver based in Clarksville, Ohio. While his lawyer has already persuaded the judge to ban the prosecution from labeling him and other march participants with pejoratives, such as Nazi or White supremacist, there’s an elephant in the room: the shirt Dix was wearing that night.

A photograph entered into evidence shows him wearing a shirt with the number 88 on its front; the number is a popular code in White supremacist and neo-Nazi
...adherents of a philosophy that was seen even at the time as pure evil, which makes them either consciously and purely evil, or attention-seeking ratbags. Pick one, or both....
circles for "Heil Hitler
...late Fuehrer of Germany, founder of the Third Reich, currently communing with his pals Himmler and Heydrich. He is reincarnated every few days, sometimes every few hour if it's an election year, as a politician somebody doesn't like...
, as H is the eighth letter of the alphabet. Henrico County Commonwealth’s Attorney Shannon Taylor, who is standing in for local prosecutors after they were forced to recuse themselves from the case,
…because they were wholly owned by the Soros Foundation’s march through the nation’s prosecutors offices, so the question is whether Ms Taylor is , too…
asked questions after one witness testified to seeing the shirt. The witness, Emily Gorcenski,
…such a stereotype: transgender “woman”, math degree from RPI, Black Bloc activist, fond of countersuing, fled Charlottesville after being doxxed by unknown parties faking the on-line identity of rally organizer Jason Kessler, and has lived in Berlin ever since, from whence she bravely doxes those she identifies as icky rightwingers…
said she saw no such logos.

Well known among trackers of racist gatherings, the data scientist Gorcenski now lives in Germany. On the night of the 2017 march, when still living in Charlottesville, she livestreamed video of the march. That footage was played in court Tuesday.

"This is 20 people standing against what is coming," she can be heard narrating while viewing a group of counterprotesters with arms locked around the base of the Jefferson statue in front of the university’s iconic Rotunda. She can be heard on the video railing not just against the torch-bearers but against the masses she had hoped would have joined her in opposition.

"Where the fuck are the rest of you?" she asks.

She turns the camera to her own face.

"We are penned in," she says in the video. "We are surrounded on all sides by hundreds of Nazis. We have no way out."

Another prosecutor previously said that the focus of the admittedly belated prosecutions, seven years after the alleged crimes took place, is on only those who surrounded counterprotesters the night of Aug. 11, 2017. Thus far, prosecutors have won five convictions with penalties ranging from roughly 40 days to a year behind bars, out of the statutory maximum of five years.

Dix’s defense attorney Peter Frazier, however, has alleged that the guilty pleas were secured by holding out-of-state defendants without bail. He has blasted the prosecution for targeting his client for his Aryan appearance, including a square jaw and neatly shorn blond hair. According to Frazier, Dix didn’t do any surrounding on the night in question, so prosecutor Taylor is steering the case toward other alleged misdeeds.

Gorcenski, for instance, testified that Dix shouted at her while carrying his torch.

"He called me a leftist piece of shit," said Gorcenski.

The prosecutor seemed to allude to Frazier’s prior statements in her opening statement.

"Don’t judge him on his appearance," she told the jurors. "We are asking you to judge him on his actions."

While the second witness was a little-known UVa police officer named Kasey Templeton, who didn’t join the investigation until January of 2023, better known was the third witness, Larry Sabato.

A renowned author and political pundit, Sabato is the founder and leader of UVa’s Center for Politics. He also resides on the Lawn.

Sabato said that in 2017 then-UVa President Teresa Sullivan asked him over dinner to be on the lookout for the Aug. 11 march.

"She asked me to be on the Lawn during the whole evening," said Sabato. "I was in shock that it was happening."

Sabato also testified to seeing a burn on the hand of then-Dean of Students Allen Groves. The court file shows that an attempt to subpoena Groves to testify failed because of an outdated address.

Many legal cases previously decided in the Charlottesville area against right-wing figures have resulted in dramatic decisions, most recently the 2021 decision in the Sines v. Kessler federal civil suit, a multi-million-dollar jury verdict against the Unite the Right rally organizers.

Is Frazier already eyeing the appeals process? He has challenged the legality, timing and location of the prosecution, and spoken of the First Amendment and his own philosophy in his opening statement.

"I don’t defend clients," he said. "I defend the Constitution."

US federal appeals court upholds 2022 conviction of Islamic State ‘Beatle’
[IsraelTimes] Judges reject claim by El Shafee Elsheikh, part of UK-born terror cell that beheaded abducted journalists on video, that US interrogators didn’t properly notify him of his rights

A federal United States appeals court on Friday upheld the conviction of a Brit for his role in a hostage-taking scheme by the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group that took roughly two dozen Westerners captive a decade ago.

El Shafee Elsheikh
...“George” from the London ‘hood. He was born in Sudan, and he is not at all a nice man — the rest is only vicious detail. The British government stripped him both of British citizenship and protections when they cast him on the bosom of American law, asking only that he not get the death penalty. He’s not actually in the Florence Supermax prison, last we heard, but next door in USP Florence among the general population. Elsheikh claims his arrest is a case of mistaken identity…
was convicted and sentenced to life in prison in 2022 in federal court in Alexandria, Virginia. His jury trial established that he was one of the notorious "Beatles," Islamic State captors nicknamed for their British accents and known for torturing and beating prisoners.

Elsheikh appealed his conviction, arguing that confessions he had given in media interviews after his capture in 2018 should have been tossed out of court. He alleged that the Kurdish-led Syrian Defense Forces tortured him and forced him to conduct the interviews.

Elsheikh’s lawyers also argued that the FBI had violated his constitutional rights by interviewing him while he was in foreign custody. Elsheikh said he was confused by the process, in which he was initially interrogated by Sherlocks from the US Department of Defense who were using him to gather intelligence and did not read him his rights as required by US law.

Elsheikh was later questioned by FBI agents who did read him his rights and told him that anything he said from that point on could be used against him in court.

A unanimous three-judge panel of the 4th US Circuit Court of Appeals in Richmond rejected both of Elsheikh’s arguments. The judges said the evidence did not support Elsheikh’s contention that he had been beaten or tortured. The court also ruled that Elsheikh’s interrogators had followed proper procedures in their two-step interrogation process to inform him of his rights.

Elsheikh was one of two "Beatles" brought to the US to face trial. The United Kingdom agreed to the extradition and provided intelligence and evidence to assist with the prosecution after the US promised it would not seek the death penalty
The other Beatle who faced trial, Alexanda Kotey, pleaded guilty under a deal that provided a possibility he could, after 15 years, serve the remainder of his life sentence in the UK.

Elsheikh’s convictions were related to the deaths of four American hostages: James Foley, Peter Kassig, Kayla Mueller and Steven Sotloff. All but Mueller were executed in videotaped beheadings that were circulated online. Mueller was forced into slavery and raped multiple times by Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi before she was killed.

They were among 26 people whom the Islamic State kidnapped between 2012 and 2015, when it controlled large swaths of Iraq and Syria.

Indian court has granted bail to opposition leader Rahul Gandhi
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

Point man of a fading vector, poor man, Rahul Gandhi is the grandson of Indira Gandhi, and son of murdered Rajiv Gandhi and his Italian-born widow Sonia. In his youth he was a shy lad who favoured cricket over politics, but after his great-grandfather, grandmother, and father served as India’s prime ministers in turn, his widowed mother took over as head of the Congress Party…then Rahul was the one who lost all to Mohdi and ended up a mere MP for the family constituency. Perhaps his more politically savvy sister made way for him because she preferred not to preside over the catastrophe…

US warns Israel 'limited war' with Lebanon could draw Iran to intervene
Oh no! Anyway….
[An Nahar] The Biden administration has cautioned Israel in recent weeks against the notion of "a limited war" in Leb

Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozen flavors of Christians, plus Armenians, Georgians, and who knows what else? The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. to intervene, two U.S. officials and one Israeli official told U.S. news portal Axios.

U.S. and Israeli officials said there is growing concern in the Israeli army and the Israeli Ministry of Defense that the situation in Lebanon is reaching "a turning point."

The Biden administration told Israel it doesn't think "a limited war" in Lebanon or a "small regional war" is a realistic option because it would be difficult to prevent it from widening and spinning out of control, U.S. officials told Axios.

The Biden administration warned Israel that a ground invasion of Lebanon, even if it is only in the areas close to the border, would likely push Iran to intervene, U.S. and Israeli officials said.

One scenario the administration raised with Israel is that Lebanon could be flooded with bandidos bandidos turbans from pro-Iranian militias in Syria, Iraq and even Yemen

who would want to join the fighting.

No decisions were made in an Israeli war cabinet meeting on Tuesday, but the Israeli army presented several options for expanding the fighting, including a ground invasion aimed at pushing Hezbollah's elite Radwan force away from the border, an Israeli army official told Axios.

He stressed that since Oct. 7, the army's directive from politicians has been to focus on "defeating Hamas

and avoiding war in Lebanon."

The official warned that changing this policy could have far-reaching consequences.

Theofficial said war with Hezbollah or a limited operation in Lebanon would have "huge implications for Israel" and, after costing lives and draining resources, likely result in an agreement similar to that currently being sought between Israel and Lebanon.

"We need to understand this before making decisions," he said.

The old — but unwritten — rules of engagement were shattered in the weeks following the start of cross-border exchanges between Israel and Hezbollah last year. Yet, the targeting had been primarily limited to Israeli military sites and infrastructure on the one hand and Hezbollah fighters and safehouses on the other. Residents on both sides of the border were quickly displaced and sought refuge in different parts of their respective countries.

a series of developments in recent days have again raised the prospect of an expanded conflict between the two sides. Israeli officials have threatened a military operation inside of Leb

, has said it does not want a war but is prepared for one.

Hezbollah-affiliated al-Akhbar newspaper published an article days ago, claiming that the UK relayed Israeli threats to attack Lebanon later this month with a specific date. American and European diplomatic sources played down the report but did raise the prospect of escalation. "If things carry on as they have been, then sooner or later, the Israelis will do something about it," one diplomat told Al Arabiya English.

On Thursday, Hezbollah said it forced an Israeli fighter to leave Lebanese airspace after it launched a surface-to-air missile, marking the first time since Oct. 7 that such a weapon was deployed. After an Israeli attack hit commercial properties in southern Lebanon this week, Hezbollah retaliated by targeting a mall in the northern Israeli town of Kiryat Shmona. The Iran-backed group also released a video that it had purportedly struck an Iron Dome launcher.

DEVASTATING CONSEQUENCES FOR LEBANON AND ISRAEL
Any potential new Lebanon-Israel war would have devastating impacts on both sides. US officials believe Lebanon would suffer massive numbers of civilian casualties and the destruction of a majority of the country’s infrastructure. Israel would also endure heavy numbers of deaths, both civilian and military, while electricity plants and other basic infrastructure could be severely damaged or destroyed in parts of the country.

recently told Al Arabiya that escalation could lead to an Israeli reaction that would completely destroy Beirut. But he cautioned that if Hezbollah, which is believed to have over 100,000 rockets and missiles, unleashed its arsenal, "they could overwhelm the Iron Dome."

He added: "If Israel had a massive attack from Hamas

a bigger fear is that a war with Hezbollah is likely to drag in multiple Iranian proxies as well as Tehran itself.

For months, US officials have studied contingency plans, as is customary for any conflict-struck country, to evacuate American citizens if needed.

The number of dual US-Lebanese citizens residing in Lebanon is estimated to be in the tens of thousands.

Special agents have traveled between Washington and Beirut throughout the Gaza war to plan for potential US evacuation operations. There are an undisclosed number of agents currently in Lebanon, sources familiar with the matter have told Al Arabiya English.

A Level 3 travel advisory remains in place, with the State Department recommending that those planning to go to Lebanon reconsider their plans.

Southern Lebanon has a Level 4 advisory, meaning US citizens should avoid that part of the country. "Cross-border rocket, missile, and artillery fire continues to impact southern Lebanon on a daily basis and has caused a significant number of fatalities and injuries," the advisory reads.

IDF reveals 2 km Hamas tunnel running adjacent to Egypt border crossing in Rafah
[IsraelTimes] Now-demolished underground passage was allegedly used to smuggle weapons into Gaza; military claims operational control over areas in central Gaza Strip amid renewed offensive

The Israel Defense Forces revealed Wednesday that it had recently located and destroyed a major Hamas

’s Rafah, adjacent to the border crossing with Egypt, allegedly used by the terror group to smuggle weapons into the Strip.

The discovery of the tunnel came as the IDF continued its operations in and around Rafah, while also making gains in a fresh offensive in the central Gaza Strip. Eight months into the war that started with Paleostinian terror group Hamas’s devastating October 7 onslaught in Israel, the military has found itself returning to some areas it previously operated in as Hamas works to reestablish itself at those locations.

Troops located several tunnel shafts in the Rafah area, which led to the discovery of the 2-kilometer-long (1.2-mile-long) underground route with several passages branching off it.

Inside the tunnel, troops found weapons, explosives and a large amount of intelligence material, the military said. Some parts of the tunnel were blocked by blast doors.

Combat engineers later demolished the tunnel, which was part of a vast network of passages Hamas dug under Gaza.

In total, the IDF has so far located some 20 tunnels that cross into Egypt along the so-called Philadelphi Route separating Gaza’s Rafah from Egypt. At least 82 shafts leading into the tunnels have been located in the area.

Hamas has been known to use such tunnels to smuggle weapons into Gaza, despite attempts by Egypt to thwart them over the past decade. Last week, Egyptian state media cited an unnamed high-level source as denying such tunnels still exist.

In another development Wednesday, the IDF said it has established "operational control" over the east Bureij and east Deir al-Balah areas in the central Gaza Strip, after launching a new operation in the area the day before.

Troops of the 7th Armored Brigade and Kfir Infantry Brigade killed several button men in battles and by calling in Arclight airstrike

The IDF said the operation was launched following intelligence on operatives and infrastructure belonging to terror groups above and below ground in the area, several kilometers from the Israeli border.

Gaza Corpse Count hits 36,731 - or so Hamas claims

No it doesn’t. About a third of the corpses are imaginary, and most of the rest are jihadis — who are fair game since their side started the war.

#1  36,731 - it is a good number from a marketing standpoint. Commas make numbers bigger and having lots of digits gives an impression of accuracy, even if it is just made up shite.

war and consequently the festivities between Israel and Hezbollah," a media report said.

"In a phone call with Speaker Nabih Knobby Berri

...perennial Speaker of the Lebanese parliament, head of the Amal Shiite party aligned with Hezbollah, a not very subtle sock puppet of the Medes and Persians...
, U.S. envoy Amos Hochstein requested that he ask Hezbollah to intensify the efforts with Hamas in parallel with the ongoing efforts with Israel so that a ceasefire can be reached in Gaza," the Nidaa al-Watan newspaper reported on Friday.

"Hochstein justified his unprecedented request by saying that it meets Hezbollah’s decision on linking the southern front to Gaza, seeing as should the ongoing efforts to stop the war in the Paleostinian sector succeed, that will automatically lead to halting the confrontations in the south," the daily added.

Hezbollah, however, refused to carry out such a role in the response it sent to Hochstein through Berri, Nidaa al-Watan said.
