[ABC News] "Perjury! Can you spell it?"
A Fulton County judge has ruled that special prosecutor Nathan Wade's former law partner and divorce attorney, Terrence Bradley, must retake the stand in former President Donald Trump's Georgia election interference case to testify on topics not covered by attorney-client privilege, sources familiar with the matter confirmed to ABC News.
Following a meeting with Bradley on Monday, Judge Scott McAfee notified attorneys in the case via email that some communications between Wade and Bradley do not fall under attorney-client confidentiality, the sources said.
Michael Roman and several other co-defendants in Trump's election case are seeking Willis' disqualification from the case on the grounds that she benefited financially from a "personal, romantic relationship" with Wade, who she hired for the case.
Willis and Wade have admitted to the relationship but said it "does not amount to a disqualifying conflict of interest" and that the relationship "has never involved direct or indirect financial benefit to District Attorney Willis."
The defense contends that Bradley has evidence that Wade and Willis' relationship began before Wade was hired, which would contradict what Willis and Wade told the court. Bradley largely declined to answer questions from the defense during a Feb. 15 hearing on the matter, citing attorney-client privilege.
His return to the stand could potentially lead to significant revelations as the defense continues its effort to disqualify Willis from the election case and have the charges dismissed.

[REGNUM] Against the backdrop of international crises, party primaries in the United States have faded into the background. But they are taking their course - now Republicans in South Carolina have voted. This is their fourth state in the primaries. However, judges and prosecutors interfere in the election race. As in the three previous rounds of primary voting, Donald Trump won in South Carolina. The primaries themselves are quite easy for him. But at the same time, Trump has to wage a political battle in many dimensions at once, while simultaneously trying to win the election and avoid going to prison.

I never heard it brought up, but what assessed value was Trump being taxed on for these properties? It's not the same as collateral value, but it isn't completely divorced from it either. The state tells you what the assessed value is, you don't get to tell them (though you can appeal their determination.)

Okey dokie. Donald Trump, for all of his purported wealth, did not take cash out of his pocket for that building. Somebody put up loans for it. It's their building, and Trump pays the note to use it.
I'm thinking that the leinholders will have something to say about a change of ownership.
If NYC says they're 'taking' the building, does that mean that they're assuming the note, or do they feel that Trump should continue to pay for it?

The Donald has already learned to fly. It's been his whole life.
[NYPOST] Donald Trump ...The tack in the backside of the Democratic Party... filed a notice of appeal of his $454 million civil fraud judgment, which found him guilty of inflating his wealth by billions to dupe banks and investors into helping him grow his real estate empire.
Trump, 77, filed the notice Monday with New York state requesting to overturn Justice Arthur Engoron’s Feb. 16 verdict by looking into whether the judge "committed errors of law and/or fact" and "acted in excess" of his jurisdiction.
"We trust that the Appellate Division will overturn this egregious fine and take the necessary steps to restore the public faith in New York’s legal system," Trump attorney Alina Habba said in statement.
The former president has railed against the case brought by New York Attorney General Letitia James, calling it a political "witch hunt" since it was first brought against him in 2020.
After the verdict earlier in February, the president doubled down by calling the decision "election interference," claiming the justice system had been made into "weaponization against a political opponent."
James’ office declined to comment on the notice of appeal, which had been expected since the verdict was handed down.

Every time someone inflates an value to get a loan, the bank is a willing participant. You get the money that they have to lend out to make profit, and they get to book your debt as an asset.

Seems like a bank would love to loan out more money on a guaranteed payback.
Like when The Fed backstops 'certain high risk loans', or when Hunter overdraws.
Hey, you know who else does this? Property Tax evaluators. Then you get it again with Value Gained Tax. I'd bet there are some real 'gems' of property in New York which are, politely, way over valued according to the tax man.

I'm a former federal bank examiner. It doesn't matter what a loan applicant values his assets at--no competent lender will loan on that. Instead they make THEIR OWN independent analysis, usually involving an independent or semi-independent appraisal process.
Survey finds nearly half of voters believe Biden will be replaced on Dem ticket
Michelle Obama is top choice to replacement Biden, VP Harris comes in second
Speculation over Biden remaining on the ticket went into overdrive following the special counsel report
Sixty-year-old Michelle Obama has said multiple times she isn't interested in running for office and has admitted she is 'terrified' of the outcome of this year's election. But she still hasn't addressed recent theories that her name could be on the Democratic ticket if Biden were to leave the race.

As we peer into the crystal ball, we see that not only is Michelle Obama the candidate, but 'she' has come out as trans. Vote for the first Black Trans President or you're all a bunch of raciss' bastiges!

A contested convention will look like the GOP speaker competitions. I am looking forward to seeing which folks decide to give Hillary a thumbs down. That’s got to impact your insurance policy rates.

She's an unknown commodity. She has never campaigned on her own. She has never really experienced the heat of the kitchen but if she does she'll be just as much a puppet as Biden. It might be interesting to watch if she ever goes off-script and tries to speak without a teleprompter. People might get to see just how ugly she is.

Biden is the ideal candidate for the bureaucracy both in the federal government and in the Democrat party. He is unable to interfere with them at all, and so they have free rein to indulge all thier megalomaniacal projects. They will fight tooth and nail to keep him.

My sense is she has lived far too soft a life now to be willing to actually undergo the rigors of even the most sheltered campaign. The unknown is what coercion factors might exist to overcome that!

Why do people keep bringing up Chewbacca's b!tch love child as the Dem savoir? She's more averse to hard work than Bernie Sanders is, and even that withered ol' commie got out there and managed a Presidential run for a few months. Ain't gonna happen, evah!

^Kamala is the bigger problem for them. Joe can’t do an SRA assignment even at the aqua level at this point. They can take Joe out at any time. To Tom’s point, Joe is a compliant sack of potatoes. Kamala is incompetent and not compliant. If McCarthy was still speaker, the Dems would likely roll the dice on the replacement VP process, but Johnson will block anything outrageous.

Mr. Potato Head turning to mush was a considered feature back in 2020; we just didn't think the medical technology was up to rolling him past 2022, nevermind today. Ladies and Gentlemen, you are looking for medical miracles, we bring you Kamala Harris.

[FOXNEWS] Nikki Haley ...Trump administration's former ambassador to the UN. First woman to serve as Governor of South Carolina, and the second Indian-American governor in the country, after Bobby Jindal of Louisiana. At the age of 39, Haley was the youngest governor in the U.S., a distinction formerly held by Jindal. She is a Republican, which really grates on the Dems... isn't giving up.
Despite a dismal primary performance in her own home state of South Carolina, the former U.N. ambassador is making good on her promise to stay in the GOP presidential primary race and is placing her bets on next month's Super Tuesday contests when 15 states — or just over a third of all delegates — are up for grabs.
"America will come apart if we make the wrong choices. This has never been about me or my political future. We need to beat Joe The Big Guy Biden ...46th president of the U.S. I'm not working for you. Don't be such a horse's ass.... in November. I don’t believe Donald Trump ...The man who was so stupid he beat fourteen professional politicians, a former tech CEO, and a brain surgeon for the Republican nomination in 2016, then beat The Smartest Woman in the World in the general election... can beat Joe Biden," Haley told a crowd of supporters gathered at her election night watch party in Charleston, South Carolina on Saturday.
"I said earlier this week that no matter what happens in South Carolina, I would continue to run for President. I’m a woman of my word. I’m not giving up this fight when a majority of Americans disapprove of both Donald Trump and Joe Biden," she said, arguing voters in Michigan and the Super Tuesday states deserved to have a choice as they head to the polls over the next 10 days.

How bout we collapse this primary process to 30 days before the election and cap the amount the candidates can spend? Limit the amount of clout big money outfits have by limiting the overall amount of money sloshing around.

Given that about three fourths of the funds donated to political races turns out to have been wasted, I would strongly encourage the rich and very rich to spend as much as they can to support their favourite losing candidates. Reducing their assets in this way will take them to an income/asset level better suited to their abilities.
