So the Supreme court ruling against the SEC is getting a lot of bad press. I say its about time. The reason the USG is against it is it has far reaching implications. This ruling takes away the SECs ability to be the investigator, judge and jury without what we would consider due process, being tried in court by a jury of your peers. I bet the IRS and EPA are running for cover over this. This is a big deal.

[ShabelleMedia] An explosion took place on Tuesday night at a spare parts shop, which is located in the Black Sea neighborhood of the Howlwadag district.
The IED blast is linked to the al-Shabaab ... al-Qaeda's tentacle in East Africa... after they threatened to take action against the business centers that abide by the government directive to install CCTV cameras.
In the past few days, businesses in Mogadishu have been under pressure from NISA about the CCTV installations in their doors, while the al-Shabaab has issued a stiff warning.
This led to the closure of some business centers, arguing the NISA order made it very difficult for them to carry out due to fears for their lives, given the al-Shabaab threats.
Al-Shabaab has clearly stated that they are targeting anyone who fulfills the government’s instructions to allow their business centers to be installed with security cameras.
The CCTV is intended to record incidents that happen on all streets and businesses’ doors in Mogadishu amid a decline in the al-Shabaab kabooms and targeted liquidations.
Somalia’s spy agency [NISA] has installed new CCTV cameras in the capital to help prevent attacks. Several cameras have already been blown up by al-Shabaab, using IEDs.
[ShabelleMedia] The Somali government forces along with local clan militia known as Ma’wisley have killed al-Shabaab ... the personification of Somali state failure... members in the east of the Galgaduud region.
In the operation, the allied troops targeted al-Shabaab centers in the area of El Hassan Ali, which is south of Budbud City, and killed six members of the al-Shabaab group.
"The army was able to circle the al-Shabaab positions before engaging in a battle which inflicted heavy losses on the bandidosforces of Evil and seized weapons," said a Somali military official.
The officers who led the latest operation in central Somalia vowed they would continue the efforts aimed at liberating the remaining areas from al-Shabaab, an al-Qaeda affiliate.
In an effort to finally push al-Shabaab completely out of central Somalia, on 6 August, the federal government announced the start of the ’first phase’ of the counter-insurgency campaign in Hirshabelle and Galmudug ...a semiautonomous region in central Somalia, bordering Puntland on the north. Galmudug is not trying to obtain international recognition as a separate nation, but rather considers itself autonomous within the larger Somali federalism, for what that's worth... states.
Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud relocated the command center of the counter-insurgency campaign from Mogadishu to Dhuusamareeb, Galmudug’s regional capital.
Through this decision, Mohamud expects to enhance the coordination of security forces and rally support of the clan militias who played a major role in the liberation of swathes of territory.
However, ars longa, vita brevis... concerns remain about Somalia’s ability to hold the areas it has cleared and take more territory given the planned drawdown of foreign troops and the fact that southern clans have not shown the same propensity to turn on al-Shabaab.
[AFRICANEWS] Libyan authorities have deported 248 undocumented migrants colonists to their home countries Niger and Chad in a joint effort by rival administrations in the war-torn country. The North African country has became a hub for tens of thousands of migrants colonists seeking to reach Europa ...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum... by sea every year, often falling into the hands of trafficking gangs that extort them for money.
An official with Tripoli ...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn... 's government agency against clandestine migration said 120 Nigeriens had left Libya for Niamey in coordination with the UN's International Organization for Migration (IOM).
And in coordination with Libya's eastern-based authorities, 128 migrants colonists would be taken to the border with Chad, said the official.
After the fall of Moamer Qadaffy in 2011, Libya was divided between rival authorities based in the east and the west.
The North African country has became a hub for tens of thousands of migrants colonists seeking to reach Europe by sea every year, often falling into the hands of trafficking gangs that extort them for money.
Moussa al-Koni, vice president of the Libyan presidential council, told a news conference: "We have all paid a big price because of these groups that try to profit not only off nationals of Niger and Chad, but also of more distant countries in Africa and Asia, by smuggling them into Europe."
To tackle these "criminal networks of traffickers" in Libya, Chad and Niger, cooperation is needed between "the countries of departure or transit and the destination countries", Koni said.
"This is a collective effort that would let this people stay in their countries and live there in dignity."
According to IOM figures, more than 700,000 migrants colonists -- mostly from Niger and Egypt -- were present on Libyan territory between May and June of this year.
Libyan Interior Minister Imed Trabelsi on Monday met in Tripoli with the IOM's regional representative Othman Belbeisi in a push to establish a mechanism that would facilitate the repatriation of irregular migrants colonists.

[Regnum] A drone launched from Yemen shot down by the US Navy destroyer USS Carney, located near the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, over the Red Sea. The Associated Press reported this on November 29, citing a representative of the US Navy.
It is clarified that the crew of the ship considered the Iranian-made KAS-04 drone a threat and decided to shoot it down.
It is explained that the United States sent its ships to the Red Sea after the outbreak of hostilities between Israel and the Palestinian Hamas movement.
Earlier, Regnum news agency reported that on November 28, an Iranian unmanned aerial vehicle flew next to the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier of the United States Navy Dwight Eisenhower in the Persian Gulf.
The US military considered the incident to be the result of unprofessionalism and non-compliance with security standards on the part of Iran, according to which drones are required to stay at a distance of more than 18.5 km from the aircraft carrier.
An American destroyer shot down a drone today that was launched from a part of Yemen ...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of... controlled by the Iran-backed Iran's Houthi sock puppets ...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The legitimate Yemeni government has accused the them of having ties to the Iranian government. Honest they did. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews They like shooting off... ummm... missiles that they would have us believe they make at home in their basements. On the plus side, they did murder Ali Abdullah Saleh, which was the only way the country was ever going to be rid of him... rebels, the US military’s Central Command says.
"At approximately 1100 (Sanaa time), while in the South Red Sea, the Arleigh-Burke Class Guided Missile Destroyer USS Carney (DDG 64) shot down an Iranian-produced KAS04 unmanned aerial vehicle launched from Huthi-controlled areas of Yemen," CENTCOM says in a statement.
Yesterday it was a pirate attack on the Central Park tanker owned by Zodiac Maritime, followed by Houthi missiles when US and Japanese naval ships intervened. On November 19th the Israeli cargo ship Galaxy Leader was hijacked by Houthis.
[FREIGHTWAVES] Container ship Zim Europa ...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum... turns back, heads around Africa
Following three attacks on vessels linked to Israel, a container ship operated by Israeli ocean carrier Zim has changed course and is taking the long way around Africa rather than transiting the Suez Canal and passing through the Bab el-Mandeb Strait off Yemen ...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of... Ship position data from MarineTraffic shows that the Zim Europe, en route from Boston to Port Klang, Malaysia, passed through the Strait of Gibraltar and entered the Mediterranean on Friday. It continued due east until it was between Oran, Algeria, and Cartagena, Spain, then did an about-face on Saturday afternoon.
The container ship — which has a capacity of 5,618 twenty-foot equivalent units — headed back out to the Atlantic and down the west coast of Africa. As of Monday, it had passed Casablanca, Morocco, and was headed south at 16 knots.
The voyage from the Strait of Gibraltar to Port Klang via the Cape of Good Hope is 56% longer than via the Suez Canal.
"In light of the threat to safe transit of global trade in the Arabian and Red Seas, Zim is taking temporary proactive measures to ensure the safety of its crews, vessels, and customers’ cargo by rerouting some of its vessels," the company confirmed on Monday.
"As a result of these measures, longer transit times in the relevant Zim services are anticipated, though every effort is being made to minimize disruptions."
[AFRICANEWS] Over 17,000 asylum seekers, whose claims have been discontinued, are currently unaccounted for, according to the UK Home Office. The admission came during discussions in Parliament regarding Chancellor Rishi Sunak's ambitious goal to eliminate the asylum backlog by year-end.
The Home Office clarified that the withdrawal of asylum applications is a result of claimants failing to respond to interview requests or questionnaires. Senior officials, appearing before the home affairs select committee, conceded uncertainty about the whereabouts of these individuals, with a senior civil servant stating, "I don't think we know where all these people are."
When questioned about the possibility of some returning to their home countries, the Home Office official, Simon Ridley, admitted to lacking information on such cases. Notably, 17,316 applications have been withdrawn since December last year due to claimants' non-responsiveness.
In 2021 alone, 2,141 applications were either refused or withdrawn, marking a significant increase from the 24,403 refusals or withdrawals recorded in 2004. Importantly, the withdrawal of an application signifies that it is no longer under consideration, leaving the claimant in the UK illegally, subject to potential removal.
Figures published last week put the number of cases in the so-called "legacy backlog" at 39,668 as of the end of September. This relates to asylum claims made before June 2022.
The Home Office's most senior civil servant, Sir Matthew Rycroft, said the government had always been confident it would reach the target set by the prime minister, and had hired more case workers to assess claims.
Officials are under pressure to reduce the backlog as the government continues with plans to send asylum seekers to Rwanda.
Sir Matthew told MPs that officials were in the capital Kigali to put "finishing touches" to the talks after the Supreme Court ruled the plan was unlawful.
The court said there was a risk asylum seekers sent there could be returned to their home country, which would break UK and international human rights When they're defined by the state or an NGO they don't mean much... laws.

I am surprised it took this long for Venezuela to start its Socialism expansion activates into South America again.
Given 2 months ago Communist China (CCP) and Venezuela signed agreements. Which have the CCP pumping $$$$ in to Venezuela the Economy, increasing trade to hide CCP Weapons imports, for the added tourism (18-30 y/o military age males) and expanding CCP's Political influence in the Central/South America area.
Interesting when you consider:
The stages in CCP influence & growth in the Panama Canal area, in Mexico, and the Gulf area.
But then add in the threat it already poses using the US OPEN BORDER to bring in 18-30 y/o military age males and plant a 5th column in the USA.

Brazil has a significant military capability, over 300k active duty. They have some experience also being deployed in Haiti recently. They have pretty good equipment but who knows how well it is maintained and whether they can operate it.
Venezuala's Army is about 100k. Also have a lot of equipment. Same issue as Brazil re:O & M.

...The Brazilians are what could be called a regional superpower - their gear and doctrine is first rate (they just finished up a major exercise with the USMC and USN, and they exercise with us on a regular basis) they just don't have the ability to project very far.
Having said that, if they get into it with the Venezuelans expect them to execute a pretty solid beating. The Venezuelan leadership thinks they're divinely mandated to run the place, and unfortunately they're what Jim Dunnigan calls a 'police army', far more dangerous to its own people than any other nation. (See also Falklands War-era and current day Argentina for the textbook definition of this sort of thing.)
[IsraelTimes] Pair are among 13 detained over weekend, most of whom are suspected of having sprayed Nazi symbols on the ground in French capital’s 17th district
La Belle France charged two people with justifying a crime against humanity over Nazi swastikas that were spray-painted in northwestern Gay Paree, a judicial source said on Wednesday.
The two were part of a group of 13 people who were detained on Saturday. The suspects, who are in their 20s and early 30s, have been described as a mixture of ultra-right activists and hooligans.
La Belle France is on alert after the killing of a teenager this month inflamed political tensions in the country, with the far-right describing the assault as "anti-white racism."
Seven of the suspects have been known to the authorities as ultra-right activists, and another three have already been involved in "similar acts" in the past, the public prosecutor’s office said.
They are suspected of having spray-painted Nazi swastikas on the ground in the French capital’s 17th district.
Apart from the swastikas, the group is suspected of spray-painting the inscription "KOB," a reference to the notorious Kop of Boulogne, Gay Paree Saint-Germain’s football ultras.
On Tuesday, the public prosecutor’s office said nine of the 13 people had been brought before an investigating judge.
A judicial source said authorities had filed charges against two people including public justification of a crime or misdemeanor.
The source did not provide further details but authorities earlier launched an investigation into various offenses, including justification of crimes against humanity and war crimes.
According to the judicial source, six other people were indicted on charges that they refused to hand over passcodes to their phones.
The source said the eight people were placed under judicial supervision and banned from contacting each other and carrying weapons.
Last month, French prosecutors opened an investigation into dozens of Stars of David daubed on buildings around the city and its suburbs, widely condemned as antisemitic. Prosecutors in that case said that two Moldovans had been arrested and that the action may have been carried out at the "express demand" of an individual residing abroad.
[DW] The two boys allegedly discussed a plot for a possible terror attack on targets including a Christmas market and synagogue.
German police have arrested two teenagers on suspicion of planning a terror attack in the country, security sources cited by German media said Wednesday.
The boys, aged 15 and 16, had allegedly discussed plans to attack "infidels" and had identified a synagogue and a Christmas market as potential targets, according to the German news agency dpa. It wasn't immediately clear how serious the alleged plot was. So, not Hans and Dieter?
Prosecutors said the 15-year-old suspect was detained in the western state of North Rhine-Westphalia following a search at his home. A court ordered he be kept in jug pending a possible indictment.
The 16-year-old was detained in the eastern state of Brandenburg.
According to sources cited by dpa, the authorities took action and detained the teens as a precaution after the 15-year-old named a specific date and public place.
Public broadcaster ARD reported that the young man had called for a "holy war" against the West and announced an attack on December 1 in a video on social media platform Telegram.
Earlier Wednesday, Germany's domestic intelligence agency said the terror threat in the country had increased following the Hamas ...a regional Iranian catspaw,... attack on southern Israel on October 7.
[NYPOST] Hundreds of pro-Paleostinian protesters swarmed the streets surrounding Rockefeller Center Wednesday, clashing with NYPD cops and chanting "river to the sea," long seen as an antisemetic slogan, in an effort to derail the annual tree lighting in support of Gazoo ...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... Waving Paleostinian flags and signs calling for the "end to genocide," the ralliers gathered along Sixth Avenue alongside hordes of tourists waiting in line to see the iconic ceremony.
Unable to get to the NYC Christmas tree, the enormous crowd instead swarmed around the tree outside the News Corp building, which houses The Post and Fox News, and has already been targeted by pro-Paleostinian protesters on at least two occasions.
"Free free Paleostine!" the protesters chanted.
One rallier was seen climbing on top of the pillar bearing the building’s address, and another was seen carrying a massive sign bearing a swastika, comparing the Israel Defense Forces to German Nazis.

Nothing else exciting in Iraq reported by my usual sources recently, just politics and normal life. Is there anywhere else we should be looking?
[Shafaq News] On Wednesday, the Ministry of Peshmerga conducted a joint operation with the Iraqi army to clear the northern region of Mount Qarachogh, near Erbil.
According to the Ministry, the collaborative effort involved the 14th Brigade of the Peshmerga forces and the Iraqi military to enhance security and stability by addressing potential terrorist threats.
The operation included a survey and cleansing of areas in the security vacuum between the two forces, focusing on ensuring the safety of citizens in the region.
While the relationship between the Peshmerga and Iraqi forces has been complex, they have demonstrated cooperation, particularly during the joint effort to liberate djinn-infested Mosul ... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn... from ISIS in 2017.
Despite occasional tensions, both sides recognize the need for collaboration to address common security challenges.
[LI] Victims include two women and a 70-year-old Rabbi.
While Israel upheld the ceasefire for the sixth day, the terrorist group Hamas carried out a deadly shooting attack in Jerusalem that killed three Israelis and injured eleven others.
The attack took place during the Thursday morning rush hour when two Hamas terrorists, one of them armed with a M16 rifle, opened fire at vehicles and passersby on a busy West Jerusalem junction. The terrorists were subdued by the security forces and an armed civilian, killing one terrorist and injuring another.
The victims of the terror attack were identified as Rabbi Elimelech Wasserman (70), Chana Ifergen (60), and Livia Dickman (24).

[IsraelTimes] Police on Wednesday arrested a woman outside the Knesset during a protest of bereaved families calling for the government to resign.
According to police, Ayelet Katzir, a leading figure in the Families’ Tent group of activists who lost family members in the October 7 Hamas ...always the voice of sweet reason... massacres, was arrested for blocking the entrance to the Knesset and preventing Knesset members from driving into the building.
Katzir was detained and questioned at the Moriah Police Station in Jerusalem before being released.
Labor MK Naama Lazimi drove to the cop shoppe to protest Katzir’s arrest, describing it as "an embarrassing and outrageous arrest."
Police also confiscated a sign from Yael Alon, a protester whose father was killed during the Yom Kippur War in 1973 and whose son was killed on October 7. Her sign called to prosecute Netanyahu and his government for the "debacle" of October 7.
Police said Alon banged the sign against the cars of Knesset members being blocked. Protesters denied the allegation, and police said it was returned to her a few minutes after confiscation.
Several dozen people participated in the protest to demand that the government resign due to the military and intelligence failures that enabled Hamas to carry out its October 7 atrocities.
