IIRC back then you had to sit still, often with a brace behind you, to get enough exposure to make a picture. Not something you'd hold a smile for that long.
[Bidness Insider] There's always an innocent explanation.
Israel destroyed a pizzeria in the West Bank town of Huwara after it used an image of an elderly woman who was held captive by Hamas in an advert, The Telegraph reported.
The advert seemed to mock the woman, who appears next to an image of a pizza with accompanying text detailing an offer for a family-sized pizza, The Messenger reported.
The woman, an elderly Holocaust survivor, was one of up to 150 hostages taken by Hamas following its surprise wave of attacks on October 7.
In a video following her capture, the woman can be seen with a machine gun in her lap, while sitting next to what seems to be a masked fighter.

An IDF aircraft, under the intelligence guidance of the Shin Bet, eliminated Ali Qadi on Saturday, who was a commander in the Nakhaba force of the terrorist organization Hamas.
Qadi led a terrorist attack in the communities surrounding Gaza last weekend.
[Garowe] al-Shabaab ... Somalia's version of the Taliban, functioning as an arm of al-Qaeda... bandidossnuffies may have suffered significant losses on Tuesday after three of their main bases were raided in Middle Jubba, ahead of planned military operations within Jubaland and Southwest states, where the criminals have been hiding for a long time.
The bandidossnuffies are said to lose critical infrastructure and manpower, following the raids at Jilib, Bu'ale, and Saakow town, which are some of the strongest bases of the bandidossnuffies in the country. Jilib town is the official headquarters of the murderous Moslems
Without giving the number of casualties, state media revealed that the Somali National Army [SNA] was assisted by members of the international community to carry out the raid. The African Union ...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful... Transition Mission in Somalia [ATMIS] and the US Africa Command have been assisting local forces.
"With the support of International Security Partners, the National Armed Forces carried out planned operations targeting Alshabab terrorists’ bases in Bu'ale, Sakow, and Jilib," read the statement by the state media, while confirming the Tuesday morning raid in the region.
"Careful intelligence analysis revealed the bases, including a weaponry depot. Initial reports indicate that the gunnies suffered a huge loss," the statement further clarified, in the latest onslaught, which could have as well left hundreds of bandidossnuffies dead in the country.
The three towns are notorious strongholds of the al-Shabaab bandidossnuffies and locals are deprived of their rights with others subjected to punitive taxation. The Somali National Army [SNA] and members of the international community have been fighting hard to dislodge the murderous Moslems.
Across borders in Kenya, the multi-agency security team raided the al-Shabaab logistical base in Amuma in Garissa County and recovered foodstuffs like maize flour, sugar, and water. The logistics served al-Shabaab explosive experts newly deployed from Somalia to attack security personnel in the region using IEDs.
[Garowe] Police officers in Kenya foiled a would-be deadly al-Shabaab ... an Islamic infestation centering on Somalia attempting to metastasize into Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and similar places, all ofwhich have enough problems without them... attack on Monday, details have emerged, after detecting an Improvised Explosive Device [IED] in Dadaab, which was targeting passengers using PSVs within the porous region within Garissa County.
The bomb had been set up by suspected al-Shabaab bandidosbandidos bad boys who have been fighting both in Somalia and parts of Kenya, targeting security forces and innocent civilians. The al-Shabaab bandidosbandidos bad boys are fighting to topple the fragile UN-backed federal government of Somalia.
According to witnesses, the al-Shabaab planted the IED along Abdisugow Road in Tawfiq village but hawk-eyed security officers detected the bomb before redirecting PSVs to safer routes as they detonated the bomb through experts from the Bomb Disposal Unit.
Officials said the bomb would have caused much destruction and deaths. The area is near the Kenya-Somalia border, which is usually breached by al-Shabaab murderous Moslems who attack and maim many but elite coppers have lately intensified patrols in the region.
Elsewhere, not far from Dadaab, a multi-agency security team raided an al-Shabaab logistical base in Amuma in Garissa and recovered foodstuffs. The food included maize flour and sugar water. Officials said the logistics served the terrorists' explosive experts newly deployed from Somalia to attack security personnel in the region using IEDs.
The incident came as several passengers narrowly escaped death after they were attacked by button men believed to be members of the terror group at Bukuree Dam along the Garissa-Hulugho road.
Kenya has deployed Special Forces from the Kenya Defense Forces [KDF] to Garissa, Mandera, Wajir, and Lamu counties, where the al-Shabaab have been targeting in recent weeks. The team will join multi-agency security teams who have been combing the region.
America doesn't need theirs, nor does Israel. The rest of the world will need to decide, once again, on which side of the moral gulf they wish to stand... and whether they want to go without Israel’s inventions.

The Emir of #Qatar has announced that if the bombing of #Gaza does not stop, he will stop the supply of gas to the world.

Siding with hamas and the gazooks? Let's help him out with that threatening rhetoric. Immediately terminate all travel, shipments of gas, and everything else from Qatar to the US.
Minutes ago, the large news aggregator Citizen Free Press picked up a video clip purporting to show the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani, threating to shut off gas supply to the world. He's purported to have said, "If the bombing of Gaza doesn't stop, we will stop gas supply of the world."
Zero Hedge has confirmed that this is fake news. The Arabic in the below clip nowhere mentions natural gas or any other energy commodity, but instead merely decries Palestinian land being taken as the main "issue" in general remarks on the Israel-Gaza crisis.

In the 1990s the Clintons played footsie with Qatar's Muslim Brotherhood and Islamist Al-Thani ruling family -- who were very smart in how they played the venal Clintons. A Defense Cooperation Agreement led in 1996 to the construction of the $1 billion Al Udeid Air Base. After that it was the Clinton Foundation center in Doha, and outfits like Brookings that gave, and still gives cover today to the al-Thani.
The al-Thani thought it was a small price to pay to have the USA protect their sorry ass from neighboring Arab states that would love to off them.

It has always been my opinion that Val Jar is responsible for Obama’s cozying up to Iran with pallets of cash and other idiotic offers that did everything possible to empower that terrorist supporting regime. And of course that strategy continues with the current drooler in chief.
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] An Israeli embassy worker in Beijing was attacked on Friday, Israel's foreign ministry said.
Video geolocated by AFP shows the man was stabbed with a knife on a street in the Chinese capital.
'An Israeli employee of the Israeli embassy in Beijing was attacked today,' a foreign ministry statement said, adding that the attack did not take place at the embassy compound.
'The employee is being treated at hospital and is in stable, pH balanced condition,' the statement said.
'The motive for the assault is being looked into.'
A video posted on social media and geolocated by AFP to an area around a kilometre and a half (roughly 1 mile) from the embassy shows a man brandishing a knife repeatedly stabbing another man, with blood visible on the pavement.
The man with the blade can later be seen leaving the site, weapon in hand.
During the video, a policeman can be heard saying he is from Xinyuanli cop shoppe. A person who answered the phone at that station told AFP they were 'not clear' about the details of the case.
An AFP journalist at the scene where the stabbing occurred said there were eight plainclothes coppers standing around.
A statement on the Israeli foreign ministry website warned that Hamas ...not a terrorist organization, even though it kidnaps people, holds hostages, and tries to negotiate by executing them,... had called on 'all of its supporters around the world to hold a 'Day of Rage'' on Friday to 'attack Israelis and Jews'.
'It is reasonable to assume that there will be protest events in various countries that are liable to turn violent mostly peaceful,' the statement said.
The Israeli embassy, located in a diplomatic neighbourhood of northeast Beijing, appeared to be operating normally on Friday afternoon, an AFP journalist saw.

The elder brother of Mohamad Mogushkov, who was detained after the attack on a school in Arras, is serving a sentence under terrorist charges, and Mohamad himself was under surveillance by security forces. In 2014, the French authorities tried to deport the Mogushkov family, which includes five children, to Russia, according to French media publications.
As the "Caucasian Knot" wrote, police in Arras, France, detained a 20-year-old native of Chechnya suspected of attacking a school, which resulted in the death of a teacher and two people being stabbed. According to French publications, this is Mohamad Mogushkov, in France he was included in the "S" list for "radical Islamism", and his younger brother was detained near another high school.
The elder brother of the Arras school attack suspect has been convicted of terrorism charges, BFMTV reported today, citing a police source. Arrested in 2019 on charges of plotting a terrorist attack, he was sentenced to five years in prison for aiding and abetting terrorism offenses and 18 months for justifying terrorism. He is currently being held in La Sane prison in Paris, according to a publication on the television network's website, citing a source close to the case.
The suspect himself, Mohamad Mogushkov, recently became the object of active surveillance by security forces - he was wiretapped and subjected to “physical surveillance.” The last check was on October 12, but no charges were brought, Le Figaro reported today, citing a police source.
In February 2014, French authorities attempted to deport the Mogushkov family, which includes five children, to Russia, France 3 Regions Bretagne reported on February 19, 2014. On this morning, they were woken up by border guards who sent the family to the airport. However, the deportation of the family was prevented by a number of organizations involved in helping refugees, who stood up for them, and the family was released. The practice of expulsion was then condemned by the branch of the federation of the Communist Party of France, which stated that the family meets all the necessary criteria - its members speak French, the children are successfully receiving an education, the publication says.
Almost three years ago, on October 16, 2020, in the suburbs of Paris, teacher Samuel Paty was beheaded, who had previously shown his students caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad from Charlie Hebdo magazine during a lesson on freedom of speech. The alleged killer was shot dead by the police; he turned out to be an 18-year-old Russian citizen, a native of Chechnya, Abdulak (Abdullah) Anzorov, who received refugee status in France. Anzorov was buried in the family cemetery in the village of Shalazhi, Urus-Martan district.
A Chechen-origin man fatally stabbed a teacher and severely maimed three other adults Friday at a school in northeastern La Belle France, with authorities suggesting a probable link to Israel’s war with Hamas ...not a terrorist organization, even though it kidnaps people, holds hostages, and tries to negotiate by executing them,... The attack, denounced by President Emmanuel Macron as an act of "Islamist terror," was in the town of Arras which has large Jewish and Moslem populations.
"This school was struck by the barbarity of Islamist terrorism," Macron said after visiting the school, saying the victim had "probably saved many lives" with his courage in seeking to block the attacker.
Macron said another "attempted attack" in another region had been foiled by security forces.
According to the interior ministry, he was referring to the arrest of a "radicalized" man who was arrested leaving a prayer hall in the Yvelines region of Gay Paree for carrying a prohibited weapon.
Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin later said there was "probably a link between what’s happening in the Middle East and this incident" in Arras.
La Belle France has upped its alert level to the highest position following a crunch security meeting chaired by Macron later Friday, the prime minister’s office told AFP.
The suspected attacker, Mohammed Moguchkov, who is in his 20s, was arrested by police.
A total of eight people were in police custody on Friday, a police source said.
In addition to the attacker, several members of his family were arrested "for the purposes of the investigation," including one of his brothers and his sister, other police sources said.
The national anti-terrorist prosecutor announced that it has opened an investigation.
Moguchkov is from Russia’s mainly Moslem southern Caucasus region of Chechnya. He was already on a French national register known as "Fiche S" as a potential security threat, a police source told AFP, and under electronic and physical surveillance by La Belle France’s domestic intelligence agency, the DGSI.
Moguchkov cried the Arabic phrase "holy shit! Allahu akbar!" (God is greatest), according to the preliminary elements of the investigation.
The victim, a French teacher, was stabbed in the throat and chest.
Among those maimed were a school security agent who was stabbed multiple times and is fighting for his life, and a teacher in a less serious condition, the source added.
A cleaner was also hurt, anti-terror prosecutor Jean-Francois Ricard said.
No pupils at the school were hurt, said another police source.
Police say Moguchkov’s brother, aged 17, was detained close to another school.
A philosophy teacher who witnessed the attack, Martin Dousseau, described a moment of panic during break-time, when the schoolchildren found themselves face-to-face with the armed man.
"He attacked canteen staff. I wanted to go down to intervene, he turned to me, chased me and asked me if I was a history and geography teacher," said Dousseau.
"We barricaded ourselves in, then the police arrived and immobilized him."
Courtesy of Skidmark, the Daily Mail has more in addition to photos and a video of the attack (once again this is a Rantburg team project):
An alleged ISIS supporter stabbed a teacher to death at a school in northern La Belle France today before seriously wounding two others.
Mohammed Mogouchkov, a Chechen refugee aged 19, is said to have murdered Dominique Bernard, a French literature teacher in his 40s at the Gambetta high school in Arras at 11am local time.
At least two other people were maimed, including a security agent who was stabbed multiple times and a teacher who is in a less serious condition, a source added. No pupil at the school was hurt.
Both Mogouchkov and his brother, who was also taken into custody, were known to the authorities and were on the national security watchlist, police said.
Mogouchkov's brother is said to have spent 18 months in prison for distributing ISIS propaganda online, and Mogouchkov was also a known ISIS sympathiser, sources said.
Sliman Hamzi, a police officer who was one of the first on the scene said Mogouchkov, a former pupil at the school, shouted: 'Allahu Akbar' - 'God is great' in Arabic.
Mr Hamzi said he was alerted by another officer who was passing in front of the high school and called in. He 'was shouting: 'Someone is attacking with a knife,'' Mr Hamzi said.
'Colleagues arrived quickly but unfortunately couldn't save the victim,' Mr Hamzi said.
Fabien Dufay, a PE teacher at the school said he had taught Mogouchkov in his final year 'three years ago'. He described him as a 'reserved, calm student with whom I had completely normal conversations.'
The attacker 'had two knives in his hands,' says another teacher at the school, who asked not to be named. 'He turned to me and said, 'Are you a history teacher? Are you a history teacher?',' said the teacher, who then hid behind a glass door.
He added: 'It was only when I left that I was able to see that the attack was much more serious than I thought. Someone was dead in front of the school.'
Clips of what appear to be the attack circulated by students on social media show how a man appears to lunge at victims in the courtyard. One of the victims holds a chair between himself and the attacker to defend himself but is ultimately bundled to the ground and sustains several blows.
Students meanwhile barricaded themselves in classrooms and were told to remain inside.
President Emmanuel Macron said in an address to the nation on Thursday that 582 religious and cultural facilities in La Belle France were receiving stepped-up police protection.
Update from Russia Today at 10:30 p.m. EDT courtesy of Grom in comments below — for searchability later:
The suspect was identified as Mohamed Mogouchkov, a “Russian national” of Chechen or Ingush origin, who was under police monitoring for his involvement with Islamist extremists groups.
Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin said there is “no doubt” that the Arras attack is linked to the current conflict between Israel and Hamas. Police have arrested Mogouchkov, as well as his mother, sister, uncle, and 17-year-old brother.
... the Muslim Students Association (MSA) are both HAMAS on US Campuses. These terror-tied organizations are dedicated to helping wipe Israel off the map. Then comes all non-Muslims.
I would have said that SJP and MSA are two of the U.S. branches of the Muslim Brotherhood, while Hamas — which stands for something, though I can’t remember what — is the Muslim Brotherhood branch in the Palestinian Territories, Israel having its own. Recall also, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad is merely a splinter of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt that wanted to get violent, so they went to Gaza, where Hamas was perfectly happy to let them off the leash from time to time.
…Law firm Winston & Strawn’s public revocation of its job offer to Ryna Workman, president of NYU Law’s Student Bar Association, is the most prominent example of the career and reputational peril students may face for whitewashing terrorism against Israeli civilians.
…The median salary for an NYU law graduate 10 months after graduation was $215,000 for both the 2021 and 2022 classes, according to the school’s figures.

[GEO.TV] Amid Israeli warplanes’ fierce bombardment on the besieged Gazoo ...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... Strip for the 7th straight day, thousands rallied across Pakistain to express solidarity with the Paleostinian brethren on Friday.
According to the latest statistics, at least 1,799 Paleostinians — including 583 children — were martyred in Israel’s recent aggression on Gaza. The Human Rights Watch (HRW) has sounded the alarm over Israel's alleged use of white phosphorus munitions in its recent military operations in Gaza and Leb ...an Iranian satrapy currently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozen flavors of Christians, plus Armenians, Georgians, and who knows what else? It is the home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers... , igniting international concern over the potential consequences of these actions.
After Friday prayer, hundreds of thousands of people from all walks of life erupted into the streets in several parts of the country and staged protest demonstrations against the Israeli brutality against the oppressed Paleostinians.
Earlier today, more than one million residents of Gaza City were warned by the Israeli military to evacuate and move to the south in the next 24 hours, as it deployed its tanks near the Gaza Strip amid fears of a major ground offensive.
The Israeli occupation military has warned about "significantly" operating in Gaza City in the coming days, insisting that the residents will only be able to return when a relevant announcement is made.

The Human Rights Watch (HRW) has sounded the alarm over Israel's alleged use of white phosphorus munitions in its recent military operations in Gaza and Leb
Perhaps this escalating bullshi* will finally be brought to a conclusion.
[CNN via News 6000] (CNN) — Israel’s military has announced a six-hour window for Palestinians to flee south along specified streets within Gaza, as tens of thousands flee their homes following a stark evacuation order ahead of a possible Israeli ground assault.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) warned more than 1 million residents in northern Gaza to evacuate on Friday, as it massed troops and military equipment at the border, and continued bombarding the territory with relentless airstrikes in response to the deadly October 7 attacks by Islamist militant group Hamas.
Even before the warning, more than 400,000 Palestinians had already been internally displaced by the past week of fighting as conditions worsen inside the bombarded strip.
But the evacuation order and the prospect of a potential incursion have been sharply criticized by rights groups, including the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) head, who warned that such a move could bring "catastrophic humanitarian consequences."
The IDF announced on Saturday it would allow people to move south "for their own safety" on specified streets of Gaza from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. local time, according to a statement shared by the IDF’s Arabic spokesperson Avishay Adraee on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The IDF claimed Hamas leaders had already taken measures to protect themselves from strikes in the area.
But they have plenty of tunnels for the jihadis to get around in, store weapons in, stash prisoners in, and the most important get to live in, safe from Israeli repercussions. Still, it won’t be long before the IDF breaks all the tunnels, too.

[An Nahar] Israel shelled a border region in southern Leb ...an Iranian satrapy currently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. It is the home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers... on Friday, two Lebanese security sources said, after a blast occurred on the border fence, according to the Israeli army.
One of the security sources said the shelling followed an infiltration attempt from the Lebanese side of the border, while the Israeli army said it was responding to a blast that caused "light damage" to the border barrier.
Lebanese media reports said the failed infiltration attempt was carried out by a Paleostinian group.
"IDF (Israeli army) forces are currently responding with artillery fire towards Lebanese territory," the Israeli military said in a statement.
The Israeli shelling targeted the villages of Dhayra and Alma al-Shaab, AFP correspondents in the area said.
It struck a Lebanese army post in Dhayra, said the second security source, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he is not authorized to speak to the press.
Hezbollah later said it targeted four Israeli military posts on the border in response to the Israeli shelling. Media reports said Hezbollah used machineguns in the attack. Israel later announced that one of its drones was bombing Hezbollah targets in Lebanon.
The flare-up is the latest in a series of incidents at the Israel-Lebanon border after a weekend onslaught by Hamas ...the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,... on Israel triggered fierce fighting, and as Hamas and Israel traded heavy fire for a seventh day.
On Monday, Hezbollah said Israeli strikes killed three of its members, while Paleostinian fighters claimed a thwarted infiltration bid.
On Tuesday, Israel said it hit Hezbollah observation posts, while Hamas' armed wing claimed rocket fire.

[GEO.TV] In a significant development on Friday, the Israeli military said that its ground forces, accompanied by tanks, conducted ground raids within the Gazoo ...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... Strip — marking a transition from an aerial campaign to ground operations.
This transition is aimed at eliminating Hamas ...a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",... fighters following their deadly incursion into southern Israel.
Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, an Israeli military spokesperson, stated that these ground operations were launched with the objectives of targeting Paleostinian rocket crews and gathering vital intelligence regarding the whereabouts of hostages held by Hamas.
Hamas, which governs the densely populated Paleostinian territory, has remained steadfast in its determination to resist. As a result of these actions, a notable number of Gazooks have begun moving southward, ostensibly in an attempt to ensure their own safety.
Thousands of Paleostinians rushed to the southern Gaza region in search of refuge following Israel's warning to evacuate before an anticipated ground offensive against Hamas in response to the deadliest attack in Israel's history.
Earlier, the United Nations ...where theory meets practice and practice loses... had told Rooters about the Israeli military's warning, which, as feared by Paleostinians, could result in Israel's planned ground offensive.
Israel's call for evacuation came six days after Hamas murderous Moslems breached the heavily fortified border around the Gaza Strip, resulting in more than 1,300 casualties, primarily civilians. This attack was likened to 9/11 in the United States.
CIVILIAN TOLL AND HOSTAGES
Nearly 1,800 Gazooks, the majority of whom were civilians, including over 580 children, have been killed in waves of missile strikes on the densely populated enclave.
Hamas, recognized as a terrorist organization by the United States and Europe, took approximately 150 Israeli, foreign, and dual-national hostages back to Gaza during its initial attack.
The bully boy group claimed that 13 hostages had been killed in Israeli air strikes, with an additional four reportedly dead due to bombardments, which could complicate any Israeli ground offensive.
INTERNATIONAL RESPONSE Germany's Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, during a visit to Jerusalem, accused Hamas of using residents as "shields." Tensions escalated across the Middle East and beyond, with protests in support of the Paleostinians, while Israel faced the threat of a potential confrontation with Hezbollah in Leb ...an Iranian satrapy currently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. [BenarNews] Manila has put security forces on high alert in case "ISIS spinoffs" launch strikes in the country copying Hamas ...a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",... fighters’ attacks on Israel last weekend, the Philippine defense chief said Friday.
Gilberto Teodoro Jr. did not say whether intelligence officials had received reports that Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... -linked turban groups in the south or their cells in Manila and other cities were plotting attacks in this largely Catholic country in response to the new war in Israel and the Gazoo ...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. Strip.
"Anybody can copy whatever happened in the Middle East or what not. Disruptors, let’s call [them]..., or turbans," Defense Secretary Teodoro told news hounds.
"I mean it always happens, so any country in this part of the world ... even in Europe, [is] on high alert for possible effects of this on their security situation. As much as possible, we are asking [the security sector] to get ready."
Communities needed to be vigilant as well and must inform authorities if they see anything suspicious, Teodoro added.
Hamas launched rockets against Israel and attacked civilian targets from the ground during a Jewish holiday last weekend, and Israel responded with retaliatory strikes, which has led to the deaths or injuries of thousands of people on both sides.
Separately, the Philippine National Security Adviser’s office said it was working to make it a priority for the Anti-Terrorism Council to designate Hamas a terrorist organization "in solidarity with the people of Israel."
"[W]e hope for a swift resolution to this conflict, we pray for the safety of innocent civilians," National Security Adviser Eduardo M. Año said in a statement.
The Philippines, which has friendly ties with Israel, has condemned the wave of surprise attacks launched by Hamas on Oct. 7.
Teodoro also said the Philippines was ready to evacuate its residents caught in the middle of the fighting. So far, three Filipinos have been killed in the violence, while two remained missing as of Friday. Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said he would give the slain Filipinos a proper burial.
Still, forced evacuations have yet to be ordered. However, there's more than one way to stuff a chicken... 22 of the estimated 30,000 Filipinos working in Israel have asked for Manila’s help to return home — eight of them are expected to be back in the Philippines by next week.
"The situation in Israel is not a big problem if it refers to the evacuation of nationals because the situation there is more stable and we’re ready to repatriate them," Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Eduardo De Vega said.
The concern, he said, were Filipinos who were in Gaza, where the Philippine government has requested its citizens to voluntarily return home. Unless Israel opened a "humanitarian corridor" the Philippine government could not do anything to get its citizens out of the densely populated Paleostinian enclave, De Vega said.
"We are in touch with other governments in the region," he said."President Marcos said that the immediate concern is repatriation, but nobody right now can get in or out of Gaza. So repatriation, of course, is not yet possible at this time."

[An Nahar] A Rooters journalist of the Lebanese nationality was killed when an Israeli shell landed in a gathering of international journalists covering festivities on the border in south Leb ...an Iranian satrapy currently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers... on Friday. Six other journalists were maimed.
How many of the journalists in the group belonged to Hezbollah before they were hired on as reporters?
"We are deeply saddened to learn that our videographer, Issam Abdallah, has been killed," Rooters said, adding that, he "was part of a Rooters crew in southern Lebanon."
Some of the maimed journalists were rushed to hospitals in ambulances, The News Agency that Dare Not be Named' correspondent said. Images from the scene showed a burning press vehicle.

It is noted for its affinity for rule by ex- or current generals, its holy men, and for the oppression of the native Afro population by its Arab conquerors. "We are urgently seeking more information, working with authorities in the region, and supporting Issam’s family and colleagues," Rooters said. "Our deepest condolences go out to those affected, and our thoughts are with their families at this terrible time."
The shelling occurred during an exchange of fire along the Lebanon-Israel border between Israeli troops and members of Hezbollah.
The Lebanon-Israel border has been witnessing sporadic acts of violence since Saturday’s attack by the Death Eater Paleostinian group Hamas ...a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",... on southern Israel.
Journalists from around the world have been coming to Lebanon out of concern that war might break out between Hezbollah and Israel. and they want to be part of the massive propaganda effort against the Juice

I would like to associate myself with the remarks of the gentleman in #1, but with more indifference.
Man, I'm so old I remember when Rooters was a brand name in news. Or maybe it just seemed like that at the time because we did not know better yet. Was kindly old uncle Walter Cronkite blowing smoke when he told us "And that's the way it is"?
