[BLAZE] A putrid stench had reportedly emanated from a building in a small town in Colorado for a number of days. When the authorities decided to take a closer look at the "green" funeral operator's storage facility, they made a horrific discovery.
Investigators were slow to reveal what they had discovered inside the Return to Nature Funeral Home in Penrose, Colorado. It appears that the authorities found a total of 115 decaying bodies within the facility, according to the Associated Press.
The report noted that the investigators who usually deal with airline crashes, a number of coroners, and the FBI eventually got involved in the case.
The man in charge of the facility, Jon Hallford, apparently tried to hide the improper storage of corpses, adding that he was doing taxidermy at the facility. However, CP24 reported that Hallford had apparently performed green burials without using embalming chemicals or metal caskets.
Hallford conceded that there was a "problem" on the property. Though the Colorado Office of Funeral Home and Crematory Registration letter did not mention the alleged taxidermy or improper storage of dead bodies, it did mention that Hallford's facility's registration had been out of date since November 2022.

Feb 18, 2023 · Penrose Library in the Pikes Peak Library District closed Saturday after initial screenings for meth contamination in the bathrooms showed levels that were above the state's threshold.
Given it was previously CKT Enterprises many years ago around 2010/+/- selling custom built modular homes. Note, that's the CKT sign still laying on the ground years later in 2023, years after the funeral home initially opened.
It has to make a person wonder who would want to use it to start with and if these bodies have been waiting months for burial?
Could it be (I'm guessing here) County paid disposal of homeless....
[NYPOST] Kylie Jenner has come under fire for posting and then deleting a photo on Instagram showing her support for Israel following a Hamas attack that killed hundreds.
Jenner, 26, shared the photo from the pro-Israel account @StandWithUs, which features the Israeli flag and reads, “Now and always, we stand with the people of Israel!”
The youngest Jenner deleted the Instagram Story post within an hour, following backlash from some of her 400 million Instagram followers.
“Don’t get involved in politics and say that u support i**ael. P@lestine has been suffering for ages,” slammed one person on the socialite’s most recent post.
“Are u even human if u are with zionists,” wondered a second person.

Should have kept the 'backlash' postings so as to identify the 'evil' in our midst. Saves making lists later.

[NYPOST] Giving up booze for Sober October could save you from more than a wicked hangover. We did this before, back in 1918.
Experts say ditching alcohol for a month could lead to healthier skin, weight loss, better sleep and lower the risk for future health scares. Think about it. The Twentieth century was the very first in human history where the populace: men, wimmin, children, weren't sloshed most of the time. You either drank water or beer or ale or wine or stronger. Egg cremes, Coca Cola, and their competitors are recent developments. People who want to tell you what to do aren't.
In the first week alone of the sober spooky season, sleep should improve and it should be easier to wake up, as research has shown that regular alcohol consumption could lead to insomnia symptoms. For those with an addictive personality it can be a period of extreme discomfort bordering on insanity. I don't drink at all anymore. Nothing tastes the same since I caught COVID, and the current tastes are mostly unpleasant. I don't see a beer or a glass of wine as deadly for anyone else.
"Although some people find drinking alcohol helps them get to sleep more quickly, it disrupts the important Rapid Eye Movement stage of sleep, leaving you feeling tired the next day — no matter how long you stay in bed," Drinkaware CEO Karen Tyrell told the Daily Mail. Effects varied. Back in the day, I could get myself falling down drunk, fall asleep, and then wake up two hours later, unable to go back to sleep.
According to GoodRx, enjoying a pint of witches brew could lead to less REM sleep and could cause more waking up in the middle of the night. Yeah, buddy. Beer always paused for up to a minute before going right through me.
Glowing skin is an expected symptom of sobriety as soon as two weeks after giving up spirits. People used to have glowing skin and still have an occasional glass or good cheer or maybe dutch courage. How many people died with gin blossoms?
Because alcohol is a diuretic, it can dehydrate the skin, according to Medical News Today. It can make you pee yourself, too.
Long-term, alcohol can also contribute to an increase risk of skin infections and cancer because it weakens the immune system. Sure it does.
By week three, ex-drinkers may see the scale dip. Or it could go up if you start relaxing with a nice piece of chocolate cake instead of a wee drap o' the broth.
"If you’re overweight and regularly drink alcohol, you should find that your weight falls noticeably after you stop," Tyrell said. Ozempic probably works better though.
One beer totals around 154 calories, while a 5-ounce glass of vino is approximately 123. I ate a Marie Callender turkey pot pie the other night that was 610 calories. A glass of Miller Lite is about 90 calories, if I remember. A glass of whisky, no matter how large, has zero carbohydrates.
Hard liquor like vodka, tequila, gin and rum typically amount to less than 100 calories per ounce. But no carbs. So drink deeply and knock yerself out.

I drink a beer for lunch every day. Am 69 years old, healthy as a horse, and stayed the same weight for 30 years.
I don't eat breakfast or lunch, but have a light dinner of anything I like. Cheers!

I've been clean and sober for eight years and am, at least for now, and extremely heathly middle-aged man. And because I embraced sobriety, I still have a wife and a family. So it also worked for me.
But I don't *enjoy* it! So if you don't have a problem like I do, by all means enjoy a few drinks each day. It's good for you in limited doses.

#6 Spot on! I do still love me a good pub and that will never change - I just drink diff stuff now and get to enjoy married life and good health whilst doing so. It seemed like a good idea at the time and still is.

Some are more sensitive to alcohol (and other substances), while some are less. I admire those able to turn their back on an addiction, but for the generality of mankind there are health benefits as well as detriments to a regular glass of alcohol. The fisked article deserves every drop of Fred’s scorn, and more.

Two of my family were "only stop when you are plastered" binge drinkers. I decided early on that I didn't want to see if I inherited that trait... So it is a personal choice.

Can you blame them? First, its only a ticket. If they arrest them, there is no bail, they will be out in less time than it takes to process them. Ca is getting what they asked for.

You think after 4 years of defunding and prosecuting, you are going to recruit and retain the best?
The US military is struggling with 'skinny fat recruits' - those who appear slim and healthy but fail mandatory fitness tests because they lack muscle mass
A growing number of active duty personnel are also overweight after obesity levels ballooned during the pandemic
Military leaders are now utilizing cutting-edge technology to assess recruits' fitness, including full body scanners that detect their total body fat

IIRC over 2/3rd of adult males are unqualified by the prior military standards. If you are going to revert to a 'draft' that is what you are going to get. Time to kill your mobilization time lines as you will need at least 6 months to a year to get these people just in shape for utilization. Of course, you can use the Russian approach of just using them as cannon fodder and skill those 6 months.

[RRRRRUMBLE!] [GEO.TV] As many as 2,053 people have been killed as a result of violent mostly peaceful earthquakes that struck Afghanistan late Saturday while 9,240 people have been injured, a government spokesperson confirmed to Rooters on Sunday.
The corpse count from the earthquakes, which was previously reported to be 120, is expected to rise as rescue operations are still underway in the affected areas.
"Unfortunately, the casualties are practically very high," deputy government front man Bilal Karimi said early Sunday, as the extent of the damage became clear.
Additionally, 1,328 houses were flattened after eight powerful aftershocks from the magnitude 6.3 earthquake shook the region 30 kilometres northwest of Herat ...a venerable old Persian-speaking city in western Afghanistan, populated mostly by Tadjiks, which is why it's not as blood-soaked as areas controlled by Pashtuns... and terrified city people to flee into the streets.
According to Mosa Ashari, Herat disaster management head, late Saturday there had been "about 120" fatalities reported and "more than 1,000 injured women, children, and old citizens".
A front man for the National Disaster Authority said they expect the corpse count "to rise very high".
As night fell in Sarboland village of Zinda Jan district, dozens of homes were razed to the ground near the epicentre of the quakes, which shook the area for more than five hours, AFP reported.
Men shovelled through piles of crumbled masonry as women and kiddies waited in the open, with gutted homes displaying personal belongings flapping in the harsh wind.
A government official confirmed that 1,329 homes were destroyed across the affected areas, Rooters reported.
The World Health Organization (WHO) reported more than 600 houses destroyed or partially damaged across at least 12 villages in Herat province, affecting 4,200, according to AFP.

BB,
I hope you're right. I have a several Aussie friends who are concerned that there could be a 100% 'No' vote, and it will somehow still squeak by...assuming the Government doesn't just say "Tough sh!t, we're doing it anyways."

Hello Rantburgers it is honestly the wprst we ever had
Pure distraction to set up more unaccountable government and set us to fighting eachbother over race
What we really need is a US First Amendment protecting freedom of speech so we all have a right to speak ad be heard
Instead we get the government trying to shut down free speech and create a controlled organ it can pretend is listening to rubber stamp policies it wants
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited. [Regnum] The conservative parties of Germany are leading in the parliamentary elections in the federal states of Hesse and Bavaria after the closure of polling stations, the ARD television channel reports , citing exit poll data.
Thus, in Bavaria, the Christian Social Union (CSU), led by regional Prime Minister Markus Söder , gains 37%. Second place is occupied by representatives of the Alternative for Germany (AfD, 16%), the Greens (15.5%), and the regional party Free Voters (14%).
The Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) showed the worst result in history in the Bavarian elections. According to ongoing calculations, 8.5% of voters vote for her. These figures allow all parties to continue working in the regional government.
In Hesse, first place goes to the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) with 35.5%. The AfD and SPD are fighting for second place in this federal state. According to exit polls, these parties gain 16% in the parliamentary elections in the federal state.
ARD noted that the result obtained is a record for the Alternative for Germany in the region, and for the Social Democrats - the worst in its history. The Greens were able to get 15.5% in Hesse,
The Left party with 3.5% does not enter the local parliament. Results may be adjusted during the ballot counting process.
As Regnum reported , on October 4, the N-TV channel warned that the elections in Bavaria and Hesse could be a failure for the SPD and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz , who represents this political force.
A total of 19 million people live in these two federal states. Both regions have serious economic, social and political weight in Germany.
Journalists noted that for several months now, polls have shown that the German Chancellor's party has never been as weak as it has now become.
