Though Democrats have blamed conservative Republicans for the growing outcry from the Muslim community over the radical LGBTQ agenda being forced on children in public schools, the belief still exists among woke leftists that if they continue to play nice they can coexist with—and win over—devoutly religious, socially conservative Muslims who have become disaffected with Democratic Party.
It’s almost an understatement to say that theory has been put to the test in one city in Michigan, which saw an all-Muslim city council and mayor unanimously vote to ban the Pride flag and some other flags from being displayed on city property, a vote they held during ‘Pride Month’:
From the Washington Post‘s report:
And last year, a Muslim who emigrated from Yemen as a teenager became mayor — the city’s first leader in nearly a century with no Polish roots — alongside what is believed to be the nation’s only all-Muslim city council.
Many residents in this tiny enclave just north of downtown Detroit saw these changes as a sign of the Hamtramck’s progressiveness. The Muslim community that had previously experienced discrimination, including voter intimidation and resistance to mosques’ public call to prayer, had finally taken its seats at the table.
Yet the ethnic, cultural and religious diversity that made Hamtramck something of a model is being put severely to the test. In June, after divisive debate, the six-member council blocked the display of Pride flags on city property — action that has angered allies and members of the LGBTQ+ community, who feel that the support they provided the immigrant groups has been reciprocated with betrayal.
“We welcomed you,” former council member Catrina Stackpoole, a retired social worker who identifies as gay, recalls telling the council this summer. “We created nonprofits to help feed, clothe, find housing. We did everything we could to make your transition here easier, and this is how you repay us, by stabbing us in the back?”
The only flags that can be displayed on city property, per the WaPo‘s report, are “U.S., state, city and POW/MIA banners.”

For everyone clapping, remember that when evil fights evil, evil always wins.
How many realize they're cheering Muslim takeover of white areas? The great replacement continues.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend.
We had no problem allying with Stalin, who was probably the bigger butcher, against Hitler.
You can face two enemies or one, your choice or it will just be two enemies facing each other in the end.

This isn’t a Dodgers Yankees World Series where the best answer is to watch football. There will likely be a lawsuit in this case and an outcome that might be useful. Can you suppress the rainbow flag based on the possibility of offending one member of a religious minority? Will there be judicial pushback against Islamic power? Equal protection can leverage either precedent.

The point, you can deal with LGBTQ easily - just look at Russia. IMO, none of the relevant laws passed there in the last two years is unacceptable to majority of Americans.

Governor of New Mexico decreed no weapon carry in Albuquerque and Bernalillo County. Large group of armed citizens show up at a assembly.
City Police - not going to enforce
County Sheriff - not going to enforce
State Police Chief - we're too busy
State Attorney General - you're on your own.
Those guns.

old men (muzzies) taking young girls as sex slaves or wives? We have that going on right here, remember they killed him to cover their asses. Grom as a Jewish person I understand what you are saying, but we are having to deal with these assholes at the moment than we are the muslims.

Also, you might want to learn a thing or two about real Islam--you know, facts and what they actually believe and think--rather than your detached fantasies--before you put them into power. Just a thought. But that, of course, would take some mental effort and actual work. Ewwwwwww!

This was predicted - but outcome was doubted. It was believed that the Dems would have spent more resources keeping the sons of Ishmael corralled... they didn't even blink an eye to do so. I sense a golden opportunity.

[RedState] It appears at least one Texas school district might have some questionable priorities when it comes to ensuring the safety of students under its care. The district in question issued a request for an exemption from a recently passed state law requiring them to employ armed security personnel on school campuses, claiming it lacked the funding to comply with the measure. Yet, it seems the district’s coffers weren’t so empty that it did not stop them from granting a raise to its superintendent.
The Ector County
...in West Texas oil country, its major possession being almost the entirety of the city of Odessa, for some reason named after the shortgrass steppe of Odessa, Ukraine...
Independent School District (ECISD) passed a resolution in mid-August seeking an exemption from a new state law that requires every district to provide an armed guard at every school building, citing a deficient budget and lack of funds to afford the guards. Now, the district is giving its superintendent a pay increase.
The resolution, passed August 15, seeks an exemption from the armed security requirements of House Bill (HB) 3 by state Rep. Dustin Burrows (R-Lubbock) which was part of the state’s effort to increase school security in response to recent mass shootings, including the massacre at Robb Elementary in Uvalde.
The new law requires every district to provide armed security at every school building within the district, however, there is a provision in which districts may seek an exemption from the law if they do not have sufficient funds to pay for the security.
“The District’s non-compliance is due to a lack of available funding. The District is currently operating under a deficit budget and is not able to finance hiring enough peace officers to immediately and fully comply,” the resolution says, adding they will provide a District police officer at every campus when funding becomes available.

Privilege generates resentment but generally won’t change voting in solidly Dem districts. Joe is not running again so it doesn’t really matter with respect to turnout. I suspect there is a mechanism is the deep blue areas that will result in a Dem vote cast whether or not a person protests and stays home on Election Day.

[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] A man with a gun was spotted protesting near President Joe Biden's Wilmington, Delaware home on Sunday.
The man, dressed in a yellow and orange safety vest, carried a sign that read on one side, 'Bidens are criminals, 20 shell companies?! Where's the laptop? 10% for the big guy.'
The other side of his sign read, 'Joe has aliases?! Robert L. Peters, Robin Ware, JRN Ware.'
The demonstrator walked by the pool of reporters assigned to cover the president and walked down the road toward the president's home, with a Secret Service vehicle trailing him.
'The individual expressing his constitutional rights had no impact on any of the Secret Service's protectees' movements,' said U.S. Secret Service spokesperson Special Agent Steve Kopek.

It surprises me that the 1st Amendment was allowed in this case. Maybe allowing this will green light armed gunmen outside the houses of other candidates.

It would seem that Italy is in a similar position as Texas. They're the closest to the problem and they take the brunt of it. Hat's off to Meloni, as ineffective as she may be, for at least recognizing what's at stake.

Meloni is becoming more and more of a disappointment with each passing day, much like the GOP.
Please tell us DDM just what is she supposed to do?
seriously, can she order the navy to sink the migrants boats? Easy to say disappointing, After all she can't stop the tides can she? What will the rest of the eurines propose?

Ultimately, either you are prepared to use lethal fore to stop an invasion, or your country will cease to exist. The era of "weak men create hard times" has fully arrived!

Intercepting the migrant vessels at sea, boarding them and towing them back to Libya would be preferable to sinking the vessels, I suppose. But, if there was any resistance to Italian navy boarding parties, violence might be necessary for the boarding parties to defend themselves.
Ultimately, Italy might need to exit the EU like Britain did if euroweenies think they can impose the replacement of native Italians by Africans.
Viva Italia!

All the Italian Navy has to do is to pass closely at a good speed and let the bow wave do the work.
[RT] The Canadian government is taking aim at grocery stores, warning them of “big consequences” if they fail to provide “relief for Canadians” by stabilizing food prices by October 9. This comes amid rising inflation in the country and as Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s Liberal Party trails badly in the polls.
Speaking at the Liberals’ national caucus retreat in London, Ontario on Thursday, Trudeau said he expects “to hear from them [the largest grocery chains] by Thanksgiving on what their plan is to stabilize prices,” adding that “if their plan doesn’t provide real relief for the middle class and people working hard to join it, then we will take further action, and we are not ruling anything out, including tax measures.”
The minister of innovation, science and industry, Francois-Philippe Champagne, said in an interview with the CBC that he sent out invitations to the CEOs of Loblaw, Sobeys, Metro, Costco, and Walmart – the biggest grocery chains in the country – to attend a meeting in Ottawa on Monday to come up with “meaningful action that would reduce price inflation in the grocery sector.”
Champagne did not elaborate on what kind of “tax measures” the prime minister had in mind, but reiterated that there would be “consequences” if they failed “to come to the table with a meaningful solution.”
The move comes amid soaring prices in Canada and reports that the grocery giants have seen record profits.
“It’s not okay that our biggest grocery stores are making record profits while Canadians are struggling to put food on the table,” Trudeau said at a press conference on Thursday.
The CEOs of the grocery giants denied the allegations of price-gouging and profiteering, arguing that “the grocery chains operate with extremely small profit margins and have minimal influence on inflation.”
The Retail Council of Canada, which represents Canada’s biggest grocery chains, argues that focusing solely on grocery stores will not solve the problem of rising food prices, as it is just the tip of the iceberg, and instead urged the government to “look in the mirror.” According to Karl Littler, the senior vice president of public relations at the Retail Council, it is the government’s policies, such as the growing carbon tax, which affects farmers and food distribution, and limiting the use of plastic which keeps food fresh that mainly contribute to the rising prices.
“If they don’t look at what’s below the surface and what’s actually driving food prices, then it’s not going to be a very helpful exercise,” Littler said.
The public has shown growing discontent with Trudeau’s handling of the economy, with recent polls indicating that only 26% of Canadians would vote for the Liberals if an election were held today, with the Conservatives in the lead.

The economic illiteracy of this threatened action is astounding, and these clowns probably got their cue from Elizabeth Warren, who made similarly stupid complaints and threats last year. If anyone in the grocery business manages to get a 4% profit margin, they deserve a medal. I hope all these grocers tell Ottawa and that clown prince Trudeau to go to hell.

The retail in the USSR was inefficient, if not to say almost non-existent. The way it was organized, buyers had to stand in separate lines for specific products — meat, dairy, vegetables, etc. — and then wait in another, general line at the cashier.
