The incident happened Sunday in the area of Pershing Avenue Park in Poughkeepsie, and ended with a filmed, bloody beating east of Pershing Ave
It resulted in the arrests of two men - Rakim Paulin and Jeremy Taylor - both of whom had been driving the wrong way before the series of altercations occurred
Each are facing charges of felony assault, after a bystander filmed one of the men beating a victim with a bat
Police in the city - which for years has been plagued by gang violence - are now trying to piece together what happened, using the now viral bystander footage as evidence.
Meanwhile, others who witnessed the mayhem are now being questioned by the department, which on Wednesday said it was still trying to sort through the incident's aftermath.
In a tentative statement, local lawman gave their account of what they believe happened, revealing that police reported a 'disturbance' Sunday at 3:10 pm.
The disturbance, the department said, occurred after two vehicles were seen speeding down Pershing Avenue Park, with one of them striking two people and another vehicle.
That's when the violence broke out, cops said - culminating in the partially filmed bloodbath that have since circulated on social media.
While it remains unclear who exactly did what to whom, lawmen said that several people were assaulted, with one of the persons struck stabbed with a knife, and the other beaten repeatedly with a baseball bat.
The stabbing was not captured on any of the clips online, but the brutal beating was - and shows one of the suspects, clad in a white T-shirt, used both hands to bludgeon an already motionless victim repeatedly.
[NYPOST] Rapper Blueface was stabbed in the leg by a stranger while training at a boxing gym in Los Angeles on Wednesday morning for an upcoming fight.
The 26-year-old artist, whose real name is Jonathan Porter, was taken to the hospital, where is recovering from the 10:30 a.m. attack at Kaminsky Boxing Gym in Reseda, the Los Angeles Times reported.
Later Wednesday, the "Thotiana" rapper posted apparent surveillance footage of the confrontation on his Instagram story.
He wrote in the caption that he will no longer be able to participate in his scheduled fight on Oct. 14 because he was "stabbed by some random guy."
The LAPD confirmed with the newspaper that a man was taken to a local hospital with a stab wound while conscious and breathing, but declined to identify the victim as Blueface.
The suspect expeditiously departed at a goodly pace in a black Tesla model S with no plates, police said.

[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] A grandfather who fought Pittsburgh police over his impending house eviction was confirmed dead after a six-hour gun battle that saw more than 100 shots fired.
A police source named the man as William Bill Hardison, 63, according to WPXI-TV, while relatives said the house on Broad Street in Garfield had been owned by his recently deceased brother.
Shortly after 4.40pm a drone found the gunman 'prone' and bloody after flying around the house, and less than 30 minutes later police confirmed the man's death, according to KDKA.
'We wanted a peaceful conclusion, a surrender in this instance, and so we used various methods to accomplish that,' Pittsburgh Bureau of Police Chief Larry Scirotto said. 'With every opportunity we were met with gunfire.'
A woman identifying herself as the man's sister had offered herself as a go-between.
'He's a good man, he's just lost his brother and he was in the service,' the woman shouted at reporters.
But neighbors described him as violent and said he boarded up the home's windows with large 'do not disturb' signs, WPXI reported.
Hardison had a criminal history and once entered a guilty plea for carrying a firearm without a license, according to local news station WTAE, and he got two years probation. He also entered a guilty plea to forgery or altering a title or registration where he received three years probation. Hardison pleaded guilty to an accident involving death or injury and got two years probation in 2005. In another incident in 2001, he admitted to fleeing or attempting to elude and disorderly conduct and received six months probation.
After the brother's death, the property went to a tax sale, and now has a new owner, but the squatter has still refused to vacate. Following his brother's death, the mortgage on the home went into arrears and more than $15,000 was owed.
It was taken over by an LLC that bought the property for $25,000 in March before filing an eviction notice against Hardison in May and claimed he was living there without paying rent. The Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office was serving that eviction notice to him on Wednesday when the shooting situation began.
There have been at least nine hearings concerning the property, according to court documents.
One police source said the gunman identifies as a 'sovereign citizen', an anti-government extremist, WPXI reported.
As he is African-American, he may even have veered as far into the weeds as the Moorish Sovereign Citizens movement, also known as the Indigenous Moors, who have the queer idea that they are the native people of North America and therefore entitled to ignore the laws and retake title to any property that catches their eye, who pop up here from time to time. The non-African-American sovereign citizens movement is a parallel but separate strand of craziness in this great land of ours.

In that neighborhood, not much. In PeeAye, and especially in the People's Democrapic Rethuglic of Allegheny County, a very fanciful amount may have accrued due to the mortgage and unpaid taxes.

Buried in the article, this needs to be a core component of the investigation: ..." Herman Andaya, the then-director of Maui County Emergency Management Agency, who defended the decision not to activate emergency warnings.
Andaya resigned on August 17, nine days after the wildfires, citing his health.
It had emerged he had no background in disaster response: Local news site Maui Now reported in 2017 that he was hired over 40 other qualified applicants.
[PAGESIX] The toast of Mayfair, Fraulein ... Dylan Stench of Death Mulvaney ...the transexual influencer who single-handedly trashed a major American beer brand owned by a Belgian company, tainted Maybelline and Condé Nast, and then demanded that anybody who called him/her/it a man be arrested... .
Page Six has exclusively learned that the much-discussed actress-turned-influencer — who has gained 10.6 million followers on TikTok documenting her journey as a transgender woman — was invited to audition for the upcoming Broadway revival of "Cabaret."
The show, which won seven Olivier Awards in London, is coming to the Great White Way with Eddie Redmayne expected to take the male lead.
And we’re told that while the cast for the Spring opening at the August Wilson Theater is already in place, producers have auditioned Mulvaney to take over the female lead British cabaret performer Sally Bowles if the show has a long run in New York.
The role has previously been famously played by Liza Minelli, Michelle Williams, Emma Stone and Sienna Miller.
Before she became a TikTok superstar, Mulvaney got her bachelors in musical theater and has appeared in a national tour of the "Book of Mormon," playing the lead role Elder White, as well as Off-Broadway productions.

Possibly the Joel Grey character, but Sally Bowles? That would be a Broadway fraud scheme like "The Producers".

I don't think they have calculated that once people become jaded about this, it will be like tattoos and staples in the face. No longer shocking or edgy, but a reminder that I'm glad it's not me...

[AFRICANEWS] A former private adviser to President Félix Tshisekedi, Fortunat Biselele, prosecuted for "intelligence with Rwanda", a neighboring country accused of supporting the M23 rebellion in the east of the Democratic Republic of the Congo ...formerly the Congo Free State, Belgian Congo, Zaire, and who knows what else, not to be confused with the Brazzaville Congo aka Republic of Congo, which is much smaller and much more (for Africa) stable. DRC gave the world Patrice Lumumba and Joseph Mobutu, followed by years of tedious civil war. Its principle industry seems to be the production of corpses. With a population of about 74 million it has lots of raw material... , was acquitted on Tuesday, learned the AFP with his lawyer.
Arrested in January in Kinshasa, Mr. Biselele was detained in Makala prison before being granted provisional release on July 22. The former private adviser to the President of the Republic was prosecuted for "treason" and "intelligence with Rwanda".
"The Kinshasa Gombe tribunal de grande instance acquitted him (...) He is completely cleared," his lawyer, Me Richard Bondo, told AFP.
The case erupted after an interview released in an online video, in which Mr. Biselele spoke about the economic cooperation relations between President Tshisekedi and his Rwandan counterpart Paul Kagame.
These relations, which seemed to be normalizing between the DRC and Rwanda at the start of Mr. Tshisekedi's mandate in 2019, are now abysmal due to the resurgence of the March 23 Movement (M23), a majority Tutsi rebellion defeated in 2013 which took up arms again at the end of 2021.
From the start, Kinshasa has accused Rwanda of arming this rebellion and fighting alongside it, which UN experts have corroborated, although Kigali denies it.
The court's decision in favor of Mr. Biselele is "a deserved victory because the case was only a settling of scores and the judges are not there to condone these kinds of things," said Mr. Bondo. The relatives of Mr. Biselele denounced a political trial.
In the DRC, several political or security officials find themselves accused of collusion with the enemy and are detained in a tense pre-election context. The presidential election which will be coupled with those of the national and provincial deputies as well as the municipal councilors is scheduled for December 20.

[AFRICANEWS] Zimbabweans voted in closely-watched elections in which President Emmerson Mnangagwa is seeking a second term after a campaign tainted by a crackdown on the opposition, fears of vote rigging and public anger at the economic crisis.
President Emmerson Mnangagwa, 80, who came to power after a coup that deposed late ruler Robert Mugabe in 2017, squares off against Nelson Chamisa, 45, who leads the yellow-coloured Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) party.
Casting his ballot in his home town of Kwekwe, central Zimbabwe, a confident Mnangagwa -- nicknamed the 'Crocodile' for his determination -- told journalists: "If I think I'm not going to take it, then I will be foolish."
"Everyone who contests should go into the race to win"
"Peace, peace, peace and fairness, during before and after, peace peace. "
"This time around there has been more awareness than in the past, I think we shall have a higher turnout this time around. And that besides now we have more than 6 million people registered as voters, last time we have only about 5 million, so there's (inaudible) a million more. And I think this time around there was quite publicity" he added, sporting his trademark multicoloured scarf.
The opposition is hoping to ride a wave of discontent over the southern African country's economic woes that include graft, high inflation, unemployment and widespread poverty.

In 1950 the industrialized North invaded agrarian South Korea. Twenty-one countries of the United Nations eventually contributed to the UN force opposing the invasion, with the United States providing around 90% of the military personnel. Seventy years later the economic results are in and it doesn't look good for Juche... n space vehicle failed to fulfil the leader Kim Pudge Jong-un ...the overweight, pouty-looking hereditary potentate of North Korea. Pudge appears to believe in his own divinity, but has yet to produce any loaves and fishes, so his subjects remain malnourished... 's space ambitions once again as the rocket carrying another spy satellite could not make it to Earth's orbit same as before, after the vehicle encountered issues on its third stage which Pyongyang space agency claims is not a "big problem".
The media of the nuclear-armed country reported that North's space agency the National Aerospace Development Administration (NADA) conducted the second launch of reconnaissance satellite Malligyong-1 aboard the new-type carrier rocket Chollima-1 at the Sohae Satellite Launching Ground in Cholsan County of North Phyongan Province at dawn of August 24.
Korean Central News Agency reported that the "flights of the first and second stages of the rocket were normal, but the launch failed due to an error in the emergency blasting system during the third-stage flight."
North Korea's space agency said that it would make clear in a short span of time the reason why the emergency blasting system was operated abnormally.
The NADA also said that the cause of the relevant accident is not a big problem in the aspect of the reliability of cascade engines and the system.
The agency said that it would conduct the third reconnaissance satellite launch in October after thoroughly probing the reason and taking measures.
Earlier, the South Korean Joint Chief of Staff said that the military detected a North Korean projectile.

Has a Chinese Submarine Crashed in the Taiwan Strait? What We Know
Unconfirmed reports have suggested a Chinese nuclear submarine has crashed in the Taiwan Strait—the body of water that separates mainland China from Taiwan—days after Beijing launched military drills around the island in a "stern warning" to Taipei and Washington.
Reports circulating online have claimed that one of China's Type 093, or "Shang-class," nuclear submarines had crashed in unknown circumstances at some point in the past few days. Some of the reports claimed the entire crew onboard the vessel had been killed.
Beijing considers Taiwan a breakaway part of mainland China, to be eventually reunited under central control. But Taipei, which has established a democratic government, has long asserted its independence from Beijing and attempted to align itself with Western allies.
There has been no official confirmation of a Chinese submarine running into difficulty in the contentious strait, and experts have been hesitant to speculate. The topic was not mentioned in a press briefing from China's Defense Ministry on Tuesday and has not appeared in any state news agencies' reports.
Officials in Taipei did not confirm the reports. In remarks carried by Taiwanese news outlets on Tuesday, a spokesperson for Taipei's Defense Ministry said during a regular press briefing that the island's military and government had not detected any evidence of a submarine crash and could not substantiate the reports.
Newsweek has reached out to the Chinese Defense Ministry for comment.
There has not yet been "any convincing evidence" to support the reports, naval expert and analyst, H I Sutton, said in a post to X, formerly known as Twitter, on Tuesday.

As mentioned earlier, any thought that the sub was on some form of recon/sabotage/clandestine insertion operation and was lost to defensive systems, perhaps mines?

[GEO.TV] The police on Wednesday apprehended two people — the cable car operator and its owner — over negligence in connection to the tragic incident of the gondola that put the lives of eight people at risk for more than 15 hours in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s Battagram yesterday.
The incident took place early Tuesday morning when eight passengers — most of them were students — onboard the cable car were on the way to school. The trolly got stuck halfway when two of its wires snapped.
The army later started an operation — led by SSG's general officer commanding (GOC) — to save the people on board the cable car. After the nerve-testing rescue operation, all eight passengers were successfully rescued by the Pakistain Army's commandos.
Meanwhile, ...back at the alley, Slats Chumbaloni was staring into a hole that was just .45 inch in diameter and was less than three feet from his heavily sweating face ... the police also launched an investigation into the incident and sealed the cable car’s control room.
According to the Hazara
division deputy inspector general of police, five counts related to negligence have been added to the first information report (FIR). He added that further Sherlocks are underway in this regard.

[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Scientists have mapped the Y chromosome for the first time in a breakthrough that could lead to treatments for male cancers and fertility issues.
The small, stumpy Y chromosome distinguishes men from women and has genes in areas that provide instructions for making proteins involved in sperm cell production and development.
Researchers have now mapped its entirety, revealing more than 62 million DNA base pairs - 30 million more than previously identified - and 41 new protein-coding genes that comprise the Y chromosome.
It was partially sequenced in 2003, but only 50 percent was uncovered.
While the scientists are still in the early stages of their discovery, they said the mapping could detect variants and link them to specific traits that can lead to personalized therapies for genetic diseases.

I was told that the Y chromosome is just the same as the X chromosome, but with one leg chopped off. Meaning that the male form is inferior to the female form.
