[Your News, H/T Epoch Times] Doctors are free to prescribe ivermectin to treat COVID-19, a lawyer representing the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said this week.
"FDA explicitly recognizes that doctors do have the authority to prescribe ivermectin to treat COVID," Ashley Cheung Honold, a Department of Justice lawyer representing the FDA, said during Aug. 8 oral arguments in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
The case was brought by three doctors who allege the FDA unlawfully interfered with their practice of medicine with the statements. A federal judge dismissed the case in 2022, and it’s now on appeal.
"The fundamental issue in this case is straightforward. After the FDA approves the human drug for sale, does then have authority to interfere with how that drug is used within the doctor-patient relationship? The answer is no," Jared Kelson, representing the doctors, told the appeals court.

This story will probably never see the light of day in the MSM.
It certainly won't show up on 'The View'.

Yes, yes. Just don't ignore various states' medical licensure boards punishing docs for doing it, no matter what FDA says.

When the FDA rep admitted that, the doctors should've moved for summary judgement.
Well, I'm an engineer; but two of my children are attorneys, so I know these things.

They're going to say this and then turn around and restrict ivermectin the next chance or crisis they get. They just don't feel like defending their decisions right now so they're saying they never made them.
[MSN] The Official Cover-up starts. David Weiss "Trump-Appointed™" is the- Special Prosecutor. Now everything can be covered up because it's an "ongoing investigation" that will end in nothing but a pardon by the POTATUS.
U.S. Attorney David Weiss will be appointed special counsel in the ongoing probe of the president's son Hunter Biden, Attorney General Merrick Garland announced Friday.
Weiss will be responsible for the "ongoing investigation" of President Joe Biden's son "as well as for any other matters that arose or may arise from that investigation," the Justice Department said in a statement. Weiss, who was already overseeing the Hunter Biden probe and is based in Delaware, asked to be appointed special counsel on Tuesday and Garland agreed it was "in the public interest" to do so, the attorney general said.
DOJ noted that Weiss was nominated by then-President Donald Trump in 2017 and confirmed by the Republican-controlled Senate in 2018.

"Ongoing investigation", evidence seizure, gag-orders, witness "intimidation", all the tools of the DoJ rope-a-dope will now come into play to suppress reporting and coverage prior to 2024 election cycle. Everyone knows it's BS, but it gives cover to demokrat politicians on-the-stump and the MSM/social media propagandists. Additionally, some smart lawfare expert needs to chime in on how this might be used as a deflection/5th amendment tool for the Biden-family subpoenas planned by the Comer House Committee?

I think this was the trigger for this Special Counsel move by DoJ. The squeeze on the Biden family undoubtedly enraged Jojo, and the optics were beginning to overcome the Trump-Trump-Trump drumbeat!
From the Hill: "House Oversight and Accountability Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) said that his committee, which has been investigating the foreign business dealings of President Biden’s family members, will eventually move to subpoena the Biden family — a move Comer hinted could include the president himself."
[HUFFPOO] President Joe Biden let Fox News’ Peter Doocy know what he thought of his journalism skills in a sharp exchange on Wednesday. (Watch the video below.)
Doocy asked the president about his son Hunter Biden’s questionable business dealings ― a constant right-wing echo in what has been a fruitless effort to link the president to them.
"There’s this testimony now where one of your son’s former business associates is claiming that you were on speakerphone a lot with them talking business," Doocy challenged at an event in Belen, New Mexico.
"I never talked business with anybody," Biden growled. "And I knew you’d have a lousy question."
[Gateway] On Thursday, former Trump administration General Counsel Personnel Police Operations Andrew Kloster joined Steve Bannon on The War Room to discuss the Muskegon, Michigan 2020 voter fraud scandal.
Andrew Kloster said he notified Bill Barr’s DOJ — and Barr and his cronies smacked him down and killed the investigation.
The Gateway Pundit journalists Patty McMurray and Ben Wetmore have extensively reported on this scandal all week.
Background:
On Tuesday, The Gateway Pundit broke a BLOCKBUSTER REPORT on 2020 voter fraud in Michigan.
The investigation had been buried by politicians, government investigators and the press.
On October 8, 2020, only one month before the 2020 general election, Muskegon, MI City Clerk Ann Meisch noticed a black female, whose name was later redacted from the police report, dropping off between 8,000-10,000 completed voter registration applications at the city clerk’s office. Clerk Meisch immediately noticed that the stacks of registrations included the same handwriting, non-existent addresses, and incorrect phone numbers.
The Muskegon Police Department was contacted and asked to investigate. On 10/21/20 First Lieutenant Mike Anderson was contacted by Tom Fabus, Chief of Investigations for Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel’s Office. According to the MI State Police report, Fabus asked for Michigan State Police assistance with a joint investigation of alleged voter fraud being conducted by the Muskegon Police Department and the AG.
An investigative task force was formed, and an investigation was initiated.
During their investigation, the state police discovered the women worked for GBI Strategies. This was included in their police report. The group had temporary offices in numerous Michigan locations. The police also identified Gary Bell as the head of the organization.
When the police inspected the GBI Strategies office near Muskegon they found semiautomatic guns, silencers/suppressors, burner phones, a bag of pre-paid cash cards, and incomplete registrations, in an office space that was styled as an eyeglasses store that had gone defunct.
There were never any arrests. And the investigation was turned over to the FBI where it went to die, just like all of the other Democrat voter fraud investigations. Back in November 2020, Bill Barr appointed a notorious DOJ attorney who covered up voter fraud crimes.

"There were basically, my understanding, was there were standing orders not to deal with election matters, both from the White House Council and from Barr. I happened to know Barr’s Chief of Staff, Will Levi, because I had worked at Heritage and ran into him at a lunch basically for Senate staffers. And he had been a Senate counsel when I was there. So I knew him. I called him up and tried to put the flag up into the voting rights section, CRD-DOJ and White House Counsel in a couple different places and got stiff-armed. And then later on hear from Johnny and others that basically then the White House counsel swoops in and starts screaming, what the hell are you guys doing? So that’s really the nuts and bolts of it."
[FoxNews] A federal judge found that the Biden administration 'likely violated the First Amendment'
The Justice Department will argue in court Thursday for lifting an order banning the government from coordinating with social media companies to censor Americans.
In the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, the DOJ will ask the court to block a July 4 order issued by federal Judge Terry A. Doughty which prevents White House officials and federal agencies from meeting with tech companies about social media censorship, arguing such actions likely violated the First Amendment.
Doughty’s order came down on July 4 in a legal battle brought by Republican state attorneys general from Missouri and Louisiana that accused high-ranking government officials of working with giant social media companies "under the guise of combating misinformation" that ultimately led to censoring speech on topics, including Hunter Biden’s laptop, COVID-19 origins and the efficacy of face masks.
The scathing Independence Day injunction – which the Biden administration is now fighting to repeal – said the government's actions during the pandemic were akin to "an Orwellian ‘Ministry of Truth.'"
"If the allegations made by Plaintiffs are true, the present case arguably involves the most massive attack against free speech in United States’ history," the injunction added. "In their attempts to suppress alleged disinformation, the Federal Government, and particularly the Defendants named here, are alleged to have blatantly ignored the First Amendment’s right to free speech."
Doughty concluded that the Biden administration "likely violate[d]the Free Speech Clause" and that the court "is not persuaded by Defendants’ arguments," dealing a significant blow to the White House.
The injunction also claims that "the censorship alleged in this case almost exclusively targeted conservative speech," but that issues the case raises are "beyond party lines."
"Viewpoint discrimination is an especially egregious form of content discrimination," Doughty argued. "The government must abstain from regulating speech when the specific motivating ideology or the perspective of the speaker is the rationale for the restriction."
The DOJ immediately appealed the injunction, arguing that the government faced "irreparable harm" because Doughty's order may prevent the federal government from "working with social media companies on initiatives to prevent grave harm to the American people and our democratic processes."
Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey said the injunction was a "huge win in the fight to safeguard our most fundamental freedoms," and he intends to defend it in court on Thursday.
"Joe Biden's Department of Justice actually had the audacity to argue that the nation would suffer 'irreparable harm' if they weren't allowed to continue violating Americans' First Amendment right," Baily told Fox News Digital.
"Make no mistake - without this injunction, there is nothing stopping Joe Biden from continuing to censor political speech. The federal government cannot be trusted to protect Americans' rights, which is precisely why our Founders enshrined the First Amendment into the Constitution," he said.
Legal group New Civil Liberties Alliance, who also have plaintiffs in the lawsuit who allege were censored by Big Tech with the government's help, told Fox News Digital that they are "confident" the Fifth Circuit will agree with the District Court's findings that "the evidence shows significant First Amendment violations."
"The relentless and significant pressure the White House, the Surgeon General, the FBI, and other government actors placed on social-media companies to eliminate and reduce the speech of American citizens went far beyond permissible position statements and suggestions," said Zhonette Brown, senior litigation counsel for the group.
The White House did not respond to a request for comment by time of publication. The Justice Department declined to comment and referred to its briefs filed in the case.
Both parties will argue before the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals at 2:00 p.m. Thursday.
So it will have happened by the time you read this dear Reader.

How many times does the Obama-Biden-LSD Coup have to violate our Bill of Rights, before they are impeached and removed from office?
How about simple new law adjustment?
There shall be NO Statute of limitations when an Elected, Appointed or Employed government official is shown to have violated the US Constitution and/or the Citizen's Bill of Rights.
[NYPOST] Sen. Joe Manchin said Thursday he is "thinking seriously" about leaving the Democratic Party ...every time you hear the phrase white people, white supremacy, white anything but paint, you're listening to a Democrat. Ask him/her/it to reimagine something for you; they do that a lot, though not well. They can hear a dog whistle a mile or two away. They invented the spoils system and Tammany Hall, and inspired the addition of the word (Thomas) Nasty to the English language. They want to stop continental drift and repeal the law of unintended side effects... and registering as an independent.
"I’m thinking seriously. For me, I have to have peace of mind, basically. The brand has become so bad. The ’D’ brand and ’R’ brand," Manchin (D-WV) told Mountain State radio host Hoppy Kercheval. "You’ve heard me say a million times, I am not a Washington Democrat." He's right, not much longer
Manchin, 75, has battled with President Biden in recent months over energy policy, accusing his administration of "ignoring" provisions to expand domestic fossil fuels in the Inflation Reduction Act — which he co-sponsored and helped pass. Dude's 75. Go out to pasture
The senator also threatened to block nominees for the Environmental Protection Agency to protest Biden’s "radical climate agenda" following a proposal to drastically cut emissions that he said would imperil the US electric grid.

Manchin sounds like a boozer on Monday morning after he realizes he missed work again and will be officially unemployed after he listens to his voicemail. He knows he should quit drinking but there’s a game on later and he didn’t finish the case in the fridge before he passed out.
Manchin is looking for a deal to not run as an independent and screw up the Dem candidate in 2024. An acceptable alternative would be the throw away VP slot after Biden is put out to pasture. Kerry would also be a strong contender to garner that honorific creating and retirement bumping dead-end opportunity. Maybe Manchin will settle for Energy Sec in the next Dem administration.
