[Breitbart] An explosion that set a homeless encampment in Seattle ablaze on July 21 was due to explosive devices, according to law enforcement.
The devices that were detonated at the scene may have a connection to a fight for control over who is in charge of the drug trade among the homeless population in the area, KOMO reported Wednesday.
The blaze the erupted July 21 was initially reported as a brush fire that was seen burning up numerous trees at the site near Interstate 5 and a hospital.
Video footage shows the blazing inferno consuming everything in its path:
The cause was unknown at the time, but the police report obtained by KOMO said witnesses who saw the explosion deemed it a targeted attack on a fentanyl tent with people inside.
The article noted:
“[Witness] stated minutes prior to the explosion he saw the devices and alerted others inside. [Witness] stated everyone inside the tent freaked out and exited by lifting the other side of the structure to escape. [Witness] stated he then attempted to exit south due to hearing gunshots and flashing from the bush to the northeast, but saw another IED south of the structure,” a Seattle police officer wrote in the report.
Seattle police arson investigators later learned the ex-leader of the camp had been replaced and the individual reportedly came back to the area, armed with a gun, to allegedly commit robbery at the tent.
One witness claimed the suspect had previously fashioned explosives using plastic buckets, and the individual was also accused of teaching others at the camp to make such devices.

“The suspect is also connected in court filings to the drug trafficking operations in the area of 12th Ave and Jackson Street in Seattle,” the KOMO article said.
Meanwhile, there has reportedly been arguments connected to the alleged theft of $80,000 worth of fentanyl and a murder in the area.
In January, Breitbart News reported that Seattle-area health officials admitted they were having trouble finding places to store bodies because of the rising number of fentanyl overdose deaths in the community.

“While local officials say increasing care and providing treatment to those struggling with drug addiction issues is part of the solution, others say that local and state Democrat policies have contributed to the worsening drug crisis,” the outlet said.
In the days after the recent fire, the encampment was being reconstructed, the KOMO report said. Meanwhile, police are continuing their search for the suspect in the case, according to Fox 13, which added two people were hurt during the incident.
A recent Seattle Times/Suffolk University poll found that one-third of Seattle’s residents are considering fleeing the area, with many citing concerns over home prices and criminal activity.

SECURITY FORCES IN AFGHANISTAN ARE ON EDGE — After the recent round of civil disturbances from both women’s groups protesting the closing of beauty salons and the Shiite mourners who are attempting to observe their religious traditions, the Taliban security forces are definitely on edge. A source in Kabul said it has been difficult to maintain control of units that kept asking to be given permission to fire into crowds at three different locations in Kabul. Mercifully, leaders forbade any such actions. The situation in Shiite areas may see further gatherings which could provoke the Taliban.

[AFRICANEWS] The army of the Democratic Republic of the Congo ...formerly the Congo Free State, Belgian Congo, Zaire, and who knows what else, not to be confused with the Brazzaville Congo aka Republic of Congo, which is much smaller and much more (for Africa) stable. DRC gave the world Patrice Lumumba and Joseph Mobutu, followed by years of tedious civil war. Its principle industry seems to be the production of corpses. With a population of about 74 million it has lots of raw material... claims to have repelled an incursion by the Rwandan army into the eastern province of North Kivu on Thursday and, in a statement issued in the evening, asserts its intention to "exercise the right of pursuit".
The blurb, signed by General Sylvain Ekenge, front man for the FARDC (Forces armées de RDC) general staff, does not, however, repeat information reported by local Congolese sources that a Rwandan soldier was killed in the clash.
The Rwandan Defence Forces "crossed" the border north of Goma, the thriving provincial capital of North Kivu, on Thursday morning "to send reinforcements and continue to destabilise and intentionally violate the territorial integrity of our country", General Ekenge stated in his blurb.
Elements of the FARDC responsible for border security repelled the Rwandan soldiers, "who withdrew to their country", the statement continued. "The FARDC will now respond vigorously on a piecemeal basis and exercise the right of hot pursuit", it concludes.
Two other military sources, interviewed in the Goma region, said on condition of anonymity that "one Rwandan soldier was killed" during the exchange of fire.
When contacted by AFP, the Rwandan army and government had not reacted by Thursday evening.
Relations between the DRC and Rwanda are at an all-time low, with Kinshasa criticising Kigali for supporting the M23 rebels who seized vast swathes of territory in North Kivu last year. Incidents on the border between the two countries are relatively frequent.

[YouTube] Two foreign pilots flew their Cessna dangerously close to boats on Horsetooth Reservoir in Colorado but then regretted their decision when they crashed the plane. The FBI got involved and there's more to this wild story than you've probably heard.
When it comes to making poor decisions in flight, check out the tragic story of two pilots that make the WORST mistake possible:
Moved to Page 1: War on Terror Operations, Home Front: WoT because:
It took place on 9/11/2022 in a reservoir near Ft. Collins, CO
Pilot Ahmed M. El Kaddah: flight instructor, commercial and airline transport licenses; 3580 hours total flight time; lived in Boulder, CO;
Co-pilot Hamad M. El-Kaddah: commercial pilot license; 7000 hours flight time; lives in Cairo, Egypt; same name and year of birth as co-pilot of EgyptAir flight 181 that was hijacked to Cyprus in March, 2016 — he volunteered to stay on the plane with hijacker so the passengers would be released, then escaped out a window
Both pilots, who are brothers, told different stories about damage to the airplane that caused problems, but NTSB reported plane showed no damage at all. After NTSB questioned him, co-pilot Ahmad fled the country.
Interesting discussion from a pilot’s perspective at the video.

The operation was carried out jointly by Jammu and Kashmir ...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there.... police, Indian Army and BSF on the basis of a specific intelligence input.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Rajouri, Amritpal Singh said that there was some specific intelligence input on the basis of which an operation was launched in LoC area of Jhangar in Nowshera sector.
This operation was carried out by police, army unit of area and BSF during which area was cordoned and extensive searches were conducted.
During this operation, SSP Rajouri said, five packets of narcotics weighing 8 kg and 960 grams was found which has been seized and taken into possession.
Police has started the paperwork but haven't done much else in FIR 171/2023 U/Ss 8/21/22 NDPS Act in Nowshera cop shoppe and further investigation is going on.
Singh said that investigation as well as necessary legal formalities into the matter are going on.
Recovery of such huge quantity of narcotics on LoC indicate towards possible cross LoC smuggling attempt which however has been foiled, he said.

[Dawn] The Punjab 1.) Little Orphan Annie's bodyguard
2.) A province of Pakistain ruled by one of the Sharif brothers
3.) A province of India. It is majority (60 percent) Sikh and Hindoo (37 percent), which means it has relatively few Moslem riots.... Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) on Friday said it had arrested 17 suspects associated with defunct organizations during various intelligence-based operations (IBOs).
According to an official statement by the CTD, officials conducted 132 IBOs in various parts of the province. During these operations, the CTD interrogated 134 suspects, resulting in the arrest of 17.
The statement disclosed that two of the arrested suspects were associated with the TTP (Ghazi Force) and were detained in Attock, adding that they were "planning to target Chinese nationals".
The CTD also said that three suspected TTP forces of Evil were arrested in Dera Ghazi Khan, adding that they were reportedly "planning to attack worship places".
The CTD also apprehended a terrorist associated with Jamaatul Ahrar ...A Pak Taliban splinter group that split off from the Mullah Fazlullah faction because it wasn't violent enough... who was "planning to target worship place in Lahore".
According to the CTD statement, three other suspects were detained in Gujranwala and Sargodha for possessing banned literature, while eight suspects were found to be sharing "hate material" targeting other sects on social media.
Out of the 17 forces of Evil who were arrested, six were affiliated with the TTP and six with the Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistain ...a Sunni Deobandi organization, a formerly registered Pak political party, established in the early 1980s in Jhang by Maulana Haq Nawaz Jhangvi. Its stated goal is to oppose Shia influence in Pakistain. They're not too big on Brelvis, either. Or Christians. Or anybody else who's not them. The organization was banned in 2002 as a terrorist organization, but somehow it keeps ticking along, piling up the corpse counts... (SSP). Meanwhile, ...back at the laboratory the smoke and fumes had dispersed, to reveal an ominous sight... two of the suspects were associated with ISIS, while the remaining three were members of other organizations.
According to the CTD, a total of 14 First Information Reports (FIRs) were registered against the arrested suspects in various cop shoppes located in Sargodha, DG Khan, Multan ...Home of the Multan Sultans... , Gujranwala, Pakpattan, Okara, and Rawalpindi.
During the operation, the law enforcers seized a cache of weapons, including four hand grenades, seven detonators, 893g of explosives, two 30-bore pistols, three magazines associated with a banned outfit, pamphlets and stickers affiliated with the banned SSP, as well as two mobile phones and a sum of Rs17,780 in cash.
The CTD said it conducted 485 "combing operations" with local police across the province, which resulted in 36 arrests and the registration of 29 first information reports.
"The CTD Punjab is proactively pursuing its goal of safe and secure Punjab and will not leave any stone unturned in its efforts to bring forces of Evil and anti-state elements behind bars," the statement added.

[GEO.TV] Pakistain Peoples Party (PPP) leader Pir Muhammad Aslam's house in Nowshera district's Risalpur was partially damaged after a hand grenade was thrown into the male guesthouse by an alleged holy warrior of a proscribed outfit, The News reported Friday, citing police.
While registering a report at the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) cop shoppe, Aslam said that he had received an extortion letter from the banned Tehrik-e-Taliban ...Arabic for students... Pakistain (TTP) on July 1 last.
According to Aslam, the TTP Lions of Islam had demanded Rs10 million in extortion, threatening him with dire consequences if the money was not paid.
The complainant said that later he also received phone calls from the numbers of neighbouring country Afghanistan to arrange the money or face "dire consequences".
Aslam also claimed that the Lions of Islam later made phone calls from Pak numbers on July 21 and 26, threatening him that his entire family would be eliminated if the said amount of extortion money was not delivered immediately.
He said the Lions of Islam hurled a hand grenade at his house on Wednesday night after he could not arrange the money. As a result, the house and the adjacent hujra were partially damaged.
However, corruption finds a dozen alibis for its evil deeds... Aslam and his family members remained unharmed in the subversive act.
The CTD started the paperwork but haven't done much else and started an investigation.
The CTD later released footage of a closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera in which a man could be seen hurling the grenade into the house and then fleeing.
Aslam is the PPP’s provincial leader and had contested elections twice on the party ticket, but he could not make it to Assembly.
This is not the first time reports of extortion from TTP have surfaced. In October last year, senior Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Minister Atif Khan allegedly received a letter from the proscribed outfit demanding Rs8 million as extortion.
The TTP is not only notorious for extorting people, but it has also upped its attacks against the military since last year in November when it had ended the ceasefire with Pakistain.
[Shafaq News] Turkiye's National Intelligence Organization (MIT) reportedly "neutralized" a senior PKK terrorist in northern Iraq across the Ottoman Turkish border, Ottoman Turkish security sources told Anadolu News Agency on Friday.
According to Anadolu, "The terrorist in question, Zagros Cekdar, operating under the codename Mesut Celal Osman, was identified by Ottoman Turkish intelligence as a key figure responsible for forcefully recruiting young individuals in Syria and orchestrating attacks on Ottoman Turkish security forces."
In 2018, the sources stated that he crossed over from Syria to Iraq, requesting anonymity due to media restrictions.
Osman, one of the PKK's self-proclaimed provincial commanders in Sinjar, Iraq, was allegedly tasked by the "terrorist group to seek support as it faced diminishing influence in the region."
He was "neutralized" during a meeting of the terrorist group in Sinjar, as per the sources.
Ottoman Turkish authorities use the term "neutralize" to indicate that the faceless myrmidons either surrendered, were killed, or captured.
[Rudaw] Four people were killed in a dronezap that targeted a vehicle in eastern Sulaimani province on Friday, according to a local official. The attack, suspected to be carried out by The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire... according to some reports, also sparked a fire in the unpopulated area.
Shaho Osman, mayor of Chwarta district in Sharbazher where the attack occurred, told Rudaw that a vehicle was targeted by an unidentified drone in Rangina village, adding that the strike also started fire in the area.
Salam Omar, the mayor of the nearby Zalan subdistrict, said "four people were in the vehicle and all of them died."
The local officials did not identify the dead or say who was behind the strike. Media close to the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), Rojnews, said the attack was carried out by Turkey.
"We do not have the details. The civil defense and health teams and security forces have been deployed to the area," said Osman.
Drones were spotted flying over the Sharbazer area late Friday night, more than three hours after the strike, according to Rudaw's news hound on the ground.
The Sharbazer area is often targeted by Ottoman Turkish air forces claiming to fight the PKK, an gang struggling for the increased rights of Kurds in Turkey. Ankara considers it a terrorist organization and combats it at home as well as in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.
Neither Turkey nor the PKK have commented on the attack.

[NPASYRIA] Fierce festivities erupted on Friday between Ottoman Turkish-backed armed opposition factions, known as the Syrian National Army (SNA), in the Ottoman Turkish border city of Tel Abyad in Raqqa Governorate.
The factions clashed on the control of the border crossing. They resulted in the killing of two Lions of Islam and the injury of six others.
The city of Tel Abyad in northern Syria has been under the occupation of the Ottoman Turkish forces and has been controlled by the SNA factions since 2019 following the so-called "Peace Spring" military operation that aimed to push away the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) under the pretext of protecting the Ottoman Turkish national security.
"Militants of the al-Jabha al-Shamiya (Levant Front) and Faylaq al-Majd (Majd Crops) attacked the border crossing to take control over it," a security source told North Press.

[NPASYRIA] A Ottoman Turkish drone struck on Friday evening a village in the countryside of Qamishli in northeast Syria killing four SDF fighters.
The Media Center of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) said that a drone of the "Ottoman Turkish occupation state" struck the village of Kherbat Khoy, some 20 km to west of the city of Qamishli.
The attack led to the "martyrdom of four of our fighters," the SDF added. "The Media Center will share the details of the aggression in a later statement."
This is the second drone attack in 48 hours, where a Ottoman Turkish drone struck on Thursday two vehicles between the villages of Tel Maaruf and Khazna in the southern countryside of Qamishli.
The attack led to the killing of three people and the injury of two others, according to a statement by the Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish).
The dangerous and systematic Ottoman Turkish violations of human rights ...which are often intentionally defined so widely as to be meaningless... in Syria, not abiding by and implementing its extraterritorial obligations, threatening the security and stability of north Syria, carrying out deadly operations, and violating the civilians’ right to life, are all a violation of the international human rights law and international humanitarian law and must be investigated and held accountable for.
The strike targeted fighters of the Kurdish-led force in Khirbat Khowa village in the Amuda district of Hasaka at 7 o’clock on Friday evening.
According to SOHR, Ottoman Turkish drones have carried out 29 attacks on areas controlled by the SDF in 2023, killing a total of 44 people - 10 civilians, including a child and a woman, 31 military personnel and three soldiers of the Syrian regime.
