[ToloNews] A teacher in Khost province ... across the border from Miranshah, within commuting distance of Haqqani hangouts such as Datta Khel and probably within sight of Mordor. Khost is populated by six different tribes of Pashtuns, the largest probably being the Khostwal, from which it takes its name... cycles several kilometers each day to a village where he has been providing more than twenty children and teenagers free English lessons for the past five months.
Due to a lack of facilities and a suitable location for teaching, the classes take place in the open air. He said that on stormy or rainy days, some locals let him use their guest homes to teach children.
Nazratullah, the teacher in Khost, added that the students use carpets because there aren't any chairs available.
"There are around 20 to 25 children and young people who follow English lessons with us. There are also some young people who are not literate and come here to learn something," Nazrullah noted.
Although the village does not have access to educational facilities, they are grateful that they get the chance to study English there for free.
"I work in a pottery factory. I come here to learn English for free after work’" said Imdadullah, a student.
"We have an English course here and we've learned a lot," said Habibullah, a student.
When it's raining or storming, local resident Ali Marjan offers his home as a place to teach English.
"Sometimes, when there is a storm or rain, I open my house at that time and allow them to continue their studying," said Ali Marjan, a resident of Khost.
It is said that the land Nazaretullah and his students are using as a classroom is disputed territory between two tribes and might be taken from them when the matter is resolved.
[IsraelTimes] Commander says containers of uranium tracked down 3 miles from where they had been stored in southern Libya, hours after disappearance was reported by the UN’s nuclear watchdog

[KhaamaPress] The UN Security Council on Thursday voted to extend the UNAMA mandate in Afghanistan for a one-year, as UNAMA is considered a lifeline for the Afghan people during these difficult times.
While reviewing the resolution, the participating members agreed the UNAMA plays a significantly important role towards peace and stability in Afghanistan. With the extension of UNAMA’s mandate, the UN will be able to continue its important work to restore Afghans’ ability to exercise their human rights When they're defined by the state or an NGO they don't mean much... , especially those of women and girls and members of minority communities.
Furthermore, UNAMA will continue to address widespread humanitarian emergencies and economic crises, promote peace and stability, and facilitate dialogue among all Afghan political parties and stakeholders. Doing so will eventually pave the way for a better mechanism to find solutions to major challenges and restore sustainable peace in the war-torn country.
It is believed that the Council’s action directly supports the empowerment of women and girls, their human rights, and fundamental freedoms. However, a poor excuse is better than no excuse at all... in Afghanistan women and girls have been deprived of their basic rights. They are barred from attending education, work, or sports. These restrictions were imposed by Afghanistan’s de facto authorities under the watch of UNAMA, which are still in place.
The United States Ambassador to the United Nations ...an organization conceived in the belief that we're just one big happy world, with the sort of results you'd expect from such nonsense... Robert Wood praised the efforts of UNAMA staff in Afghanistan, who are operating in a deteriorating security situation throughout the country.
"Today and every day, the United States stands firmly in support of the UN’s work to support peace, security, and stability in Afghanistan and to advance respect for all Afghans’ human rights and fundamental freedoms." Robert Wood said.
Following the vote for an extension, it is decided that UNAMA will continue its critical mission for another year in Afghanistan without any change in its mandate, activities, and priorities.
[Rudaw] Erbil-based Kurdistan CT claimed early Thursday that the casualties of a helicopter crash in Duhok province the previous night were fighters of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).
An unidentified helicopter crashed in Duhok’s Chamanke subdistrict on Wednesday night, killing all seven people onboard. The vicinity of the area where the copter fell is known for frequent festivities between The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire... and the PKK.
"Preliminary investigations revealed that the helicopter was of type Eurocopter AS350 and that several of the passengers that were killed were PKK fighters," the counterterrorism force stated.
The PKK, however, has yet to comment on the incident, while Turkey’s defense ministry was quick to deny reports that the fallen helicopter belonged to the Ottoman Turkish armed forces.
Further investigations into the incident are ongoing, according to the counterterrorism force.
Chamanke in Duhok province is located 15 kilometers from Mount Gara, a region where Ankara in Februrary 2021 launched an operation dubbed Claw-Eagle-2 targeting the PKK.
More than 500 villages have been emptied in the Kurdistan Region over three decades of the Turkey-PKK conflict.

The Omariya Secondary School for Girls in Qalqilya honored Khairyi, with a female speaker reciting, " ... the Jews will taste its bitterness ... you made a covenant with our vendettas. And in the name of Allah, people like you preserve the covenant."
"The Omariya School is indicative of everything that is wrong with how U.S. taxpayer money is abused in the Palestinian Authority’s educational sector," Impact-se CEO Marcus Sheff told The Algemeiner. "A school is more than bricks and mortar: it is where lessons are learned and values imparted. USAID built the school but it cannot be indifferent to the lessons of hate and values of antisemitism taught within its gates."
USAID funded the school $1.2 million to build the school, which celebrated the release of Karim Younes in December. He was convicted of kidnapping and murdering an IDF soldier in 1983.

[NPASyria] Syrian Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad Oppressor of the Syrians and the Lebs... welcomed on Wednesday any Russian proposals to set up new military bases and boost troop numbers in Syria.
This followed the meeting that al-Assad held with Russian President Vladimir Putin ...President-for-Life of Russia. He gets along well with other presidents for life. He is credited with bringing political stability and re-establishing something like the rule of law, which occasionally results in somebody dropping dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substance. The old bunch, without close personal ties to Putin, are in jail or in exile or dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substances... in the Kremlin in Russia’s capital, Moscow.
On Wednesday, al-Assad paid an official visit to Moscow to hold talks with his Russian counterpart, Putin, on the eve of the 12th anniversary of the Syrian war.
The visit comes amid Russian efforts to reconcile between Syria and The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor... — which has supported Syrian opposition groups that tried to topple al-Assad since the beginning of the Syrian Civil War on March 15, 2011.
The Syrian president suggested that Moscow’s military presence in Syria should become "permanent".
"We think that expanding the Russian presence in Syria is a good thing," according to al-Assad.
"We believe that if Russia has the desire to expand bases or increase their number, it is a technical or logistical issue," he added.
There are two Russian military bases in Syria: Khmeimim Air Base in Latakia Governorate and Russian naval facility in Tartus Governorate; both governorates are on the Syrian coast.

[NPASyria] Syrian Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad Light of the Alawites... said in an exclusive interview with a Russian channel on Thursday that the current insecurity in Syria is caused by Ottoman Turkish policies, particularly those of its president, His Enormity, Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First ...Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. That's 968 more than there are in the White House, 400 more than in Versailles, and 325 more than Buckingham Palace, so you know who's really most important... .
In his meeting with Russian state-owned RT, al-Assad said, "Erdogan’s priority is the elections and nothing else."
Russia has recently attempted to broker a rapprochement between al-Assad and Erdogan. In December, the two country’s defense minister met in the highest-level bilateral meeting since the beginning of the Syrian War.
Al-Assad said the withdrawal of Ottoman Turkish forces from Syria is the most important prerequisite for any talks to be held with Ankara.
He also stated that "the issue of withdrawing from Syrian territory is national issue, not a political one."
If the conditions regarding the withdrawal are met, he said, there is no problem in setting a meeting with Erdogan.
"The Ottoman Turkish defense minister is maybe still living in the Roman era, when countries would draw their border in accordance with their military power," The Syrian president said

Trump would probably manufacture a global deal to resolve all this. As long as we end up with Greenland and stick someone else with California, I am down with it.
