TALIBAN ISSUES CALL TO AFGHANS TO BE READY TO ‘DEFEND THE NATION’ ON TUESDAY – Possibly in an attempt to rally a sense of nationalism on the anniversary of the Soviet Invasion, Taliban leaders called on citizens to remain ready to defend the country over the course of the coming year. The comments come on the heels of a similar exhortation by the Minister of Foreign Affairs a few days ago. It is possible the Taliban see a threat on the horizon and are making efforts to stimulate the populace.

ISIS has claimed responsibility for a car bombing that killed a local police chief in Afghanistan.
The ISIS regional affiliate — known as the Islamic State in Khorasan Province — has increased its attacks since the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan in August 2021.
Abdulhaq Abu Omar, the police chief of the country’s northeastern Badakhshan province, died on Monday morning when a car bomb exploded near his headquarters.
The interior ministry spokesman, Abdul Nafi Takor, said two others were killed in the blast and two people were wounded. Four suspects were arrested in connection with the incident, he said.
In a brief statement late on Monday, ISIS said it parked an explosive-laden car on the road used by the police chief on his way to work and detonated it when he was close by.
Earlier this month, the militant group claimed responsibility for a coordinated attack on a Chinese-owned hotel in the Afghan capital, Kabul, which left three assailants dead and at least two guests injured as they tried to escape by jumping out of a window.
The assault on the Kabul Longan Hotel, in the central Shar-e-Naw district, prompted the Chinese government to urge its citizens to leave Afghanistan.
The advisory appeared to be a setback for Afghanistan’s Taliban rulers who seek foreign investments in hopes of halting the country’s downward economic spiral since their takeover.
[ShabelleMedia] Two people were rubbed out by al-Shabaab ...... the personification of Somali state failure... forces of Evil and several houses were torched in a rural area in coastal Kenya, police said Monday.
The Christmas night attack happened in the Pandaguo area in Lamu county that neighbors Boni forest, where security agencies have been conducting an operation since 2015 to flush out forces of Evil in hiding.
The forest near the Kenya-Somalia border and the area around it have been attacked by al-Shabaab forces of Evil in the past.
Police said the attackers invaded Taa village, some miles away from the popular tourist destination of Lamu town, and targeted homes in a coordinated manner.
Many villagers ran and hid in bushes as the gang descended on their homes, survivors said.
Coast regional commissioner John Elungata said assailants attacked the village at night but were repulsed by Kenya Police Reservists after a heavy shootout.
Elungata urged locals to cooperate with security officers on the ground.
"The situation is calm, we have officers patrolling the area and we would like to ask members of the public to tell us what they know to help us in our investigations as we continue hunting them," he said.
The attack comes barely a week after the suspected al-Shabaab forces of Evil attacked a police vehicle in northern Kenya, killing two officers and a civilian.
Kenya began the construction of a 700-kilometer (435-mile) wall along its border with Somalia in 2015 to stop al-Shabaab forces of Evil from crossing in and out of Kenya.
The project plan includes having designated immigration and customs entry points with a concrete wall fitted with CCTV cameras.
Trenches are also being constructed in the area.
The plan includes the creation of at least 22 border posts with well-equipped personnel to respond to any form of aggression.
Officials say, once complete, the teams will be spread 40 kilometers (25 miles) apart to enable quick response to attacks from krazed killers.
The fence, especially in Mandera and Lamu, has helped reduce incidents of attacks by the forces of Evil who previously crossed at will.
Research by government security agencies says 30% of the country’s security problems are traced to the porous Somalia border.
An encounter broke out between Lions of Islam and security forces in Sidhra area of Jammu on Wednesday morning, police said.
ADGP Jammu zone, Mukesh Singh told Greater Kashmir ...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there.... said that two to three Lions of Islam are likely to have been trapped.
As the firing between the Lions of Islam and security forces continues, the bypass road has been closed.
Though the police have not confirmed yet, the sources claim that the encounter broke out after the forces stopped a truck for checking.
The Lions of Islam opened fire on the security forces, who retaliated, leading to the encounter.

These fcuking idiots. Wanting a medal for trifles. Photo ops and arrests and promotions. Fools. Out there in the sea you can just let them sleep with the fishes who's going to know?

The question for me is whether they were on the ISI payroll or independent operators. I don’t suppose it makes much difference at the receiving end, but knowing the answer keeps our files neat.

You don't keep bad guys on payroll, TW. Especially when the FATF's constantly looking in. What you do is cultivate an underworld of criminals and facilitators by allowing certain elements to ply their trade, letting them pass into foreign territory, do their thing. Plenty of buyers this side to buy whatever they're selling. No loss to Pakistain, and they can just say it's independent criminals, oh good you caught them, cheerio!
Which is why deepsixing them is not only more expedient but advised. We have an understanding with Bangladesh and Myanmar. They don't mind offing their elements for us since they have no designs on destabilizing India or weakening our borders. These bastitches though...
[Dawn] Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said on Tuesday that the suspects involved in the suicide kaboom in Islamabad last week — that left a policeman martyred and several injured — have been arrested.
The incident, in which four coppers and two civilians were maimed, took place in Islamabad’s I-10/4 sector on December 23. The police had said that a suicide attacker, riding a cab, went kaboom! after the vehicle was stopped over suspicion.
The outlawed Tehrik-e-Taliban ...Arabic for students... Pakistain (TTP) had grabbed credit for the attack.
In a tweet today, the interior minister confirmed that the miscreants and their handlers behind the attack had been arrested.
"The taxi driver was innocent. He was hired by the suspects and had no involvement [in the attack]. The turbans moved from Kurram Agency ...home of an intricately interconnected web of poverty, ignorance, and religious fanaticism, where the laws of cause and effect are assumed to be suspended, conveniently located adjacent to Tora Bora... and stayed in Rawalpindi. We have rounded up four to five people," he said.
The development comes days after the Islamabad police formed a joint investigation team (JIT) to probe the bombing.
According to the notification, the JIT was constituted under Section 19-A of the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997 to investigate the case registered on Dec 23 on charges of 7ATA, along with PPC Section 302, 324, 427, and 4/5 Explosive Act at the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) cop shoppe, Islamabad.
SECURITY ON HIGH ALERT IN ISLAMABAD Meanwhile, ...back at the Hubba Hubba Club, Big Shirley was still trying to snatch Nunzio bald-headed. She was already halfway there... since Friday, security has been beefed up in the capital city. Earlier today, Dawn reported that the Islamabad police have issued a "special" plan that introduces 25 temporary checkposts in the city and requires citizens and foreigners to carry their identification documents with them.
According to the security plan, shared on Islamabad police’s official Twitter, entry points of the Red Zone will be recorded via Safe City cameras while video surveillance of metro bus passengers would also be conducted.
Police asked the capital’s citizens, as well as foreigners, to carry their identification documents with them.
Authorities also warned of action over non-specimen number plates and unregistered vehicles, directing citizens to ensure their vehicles had number plates issued by the excise office.
Police said citizens who had employed unregistered local or foreign workers would also be investigated. They further appealed to citizens to inform authorities of any unusual activity on the 15-helpline.
This plan has been devised as Pakistain continues to see a rise in terror incidents in recent days, particularly after the holy warrior TTP called off the ceasefire between them and the government in late November.
Two days after the I-10 blast, the US embassy in the capital had issued a security alert, prohibiting its staff from visiting the city’s Marriott Hotel due to concerns of a "possible attack".
Moreover, Saudi Arabia ...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. Fifteen of the nineteen WTC hijackers were Saudis, and most major jihadi commanders were Saudis, to include Osama bin Laden. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman quietly folded that tent in 2016, doing terrible things to the guys running it, and has since been dragging the kingdom into the current century... , the United Kingdom and Australia issued separate security alerts on Monday, asking their citizens to limit their movement in Pakistain.
[IsraelTimes] Shin Bet and police say Eslam Froukh committed deadly attack in November on his own, and allegedly planned further attacks before being detained
The Shin Bet security agency and Israel Police on Tuesday said security forces had arrested an Arab Israeli man affiliated with the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... jihadist group for a deadly double bombing attack in Jerusalem last month.
In the attack on November 23, Eslam Froukh, 26, allegedly set off two bombs at two bus stops near entrances to the capital. The attacks killed two people — 16-year-old Aryeh Schupak and 50-year-old Tadese Tashume Ben Ma’ada — and maimed over 20.
According to the Shin Bet, Froukh, an Israeli resident of Kafr ’Aqab in East Jerusalem who lived much of the time in the Ramallah area, committed the attack because of his affiliation with Islamic State.
The agency said Froukh, a mechanical engineer by trade, acted alone and taught himself how to make the bombs used in the attack, using guides from the internet.
The Shin Bet said Froukh had sought to detonate another bomb as security and medical forces treated the victims at the scene of the second attack, but ran into technical issues and did not end up planting it.
In the days after the attack, security forces near the West Bank settlement of Ma’ale Adumim found several items apparently used by the terrorist in the attack, including a motorized scooter, a helmet, spare clothes — used before, during, and after the attack — and five pipe bombs.
The Shin Bet said these items helped them identify the attacker, who was arrested several days later.
In another area of the West Bank, near Ramallah, security forces located the site where Froukh allegedly tested his bombs. The Shin Bet said troops seized kabooms, a makeshift submachine gun and a primed bomb similar to the ones used in the Jerusalem attack.
The agency said it suspected Froukh planned to commit another attack using the bomb and the weapon.
Several other suspects were arrested in the days following the bombing, but were all released.
Prosecutors are expected to file an indictment against Froukh in the coming days, which will include murder and other terror charges.
