SIGNIFICANT FIGHTING REPORTED IN NORTHERN KABUL – Fighting erupted in several neighborhoods of Northern Kabul between the Taliban and an unidentified group that appears to be spread across several Police Districts late yesterday night. Several explosions have been reported and both heavy weapons and small arms fire continue to be heard in select neighborhoods. The explosions were noted in the Panjsad Famili, Shahr-e Naw, and Kotel Khair Khaneh neighborhoods but the fighting has spread further than these areas. Military traffic continues to respond to the incident and the roadways are dangerous as convoys are traveling at high speeds throughout the city. Observers have reported seeing many Taliban being rushed to local hospitals. It is not clear who initiated hostilities and who exactly the Taliban are engaging at this point. At-risk Afghans are advised to shelter in place, avoid windows and doorways, and keep interior lights off until the clashes are over.

The second blast took place about two hours later near the Jamhuriat hospital in the 4th Police District. Police confirmed the second explosion but made no comment about the first. No information about potential casualties or what/who may have caused the blast has been provided.
DRONES SPOTTED OVER TAKHAR – Locals in the Darqad District reported seeing two drones patrolling the skies very early Saturday morning. GDI RAIDS IN KABUL AND SAR-E-PUL FIND WEAPONS CACHES – Two independent search operations in both locations produced almost forty weapons that are thought to have belonged to both ISIS-K and Resistance factions. [LIBYAREVIEW] On Thursday, the Bangladeshi authorities said that they arrested one of the suspects accused of shooting dead 26 Bangladeshis and four migrants colonists from Africa in Libya in May 2020.
Rafiqul Islam Mal, 38 years old, was arrested from Shahjalal Airport while fleeing to Dubai last night on Wednesday.
Special Superintendent of Police (SSP), Nazrul Islam, of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Anti-Human Trafficking Team confirmed said that Rafiqul is a member of the human trafficking ring. "He is used to smuggling the common people to Libya with the promise of sending them to Europa ...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum... to lead a better life," Nazrul said, according to Bangladish Tribune.
He added that while Rafiqul was in Libya he built a human trafficking ring. "After returning to the country, he used to smuggle ordinary people to Libya via Dubai," he explained.
In March 2021, Libyan police announced the arrest of one of the main suspects in the massacre of Bangladeshi migrants colonists.
In May 2020, the family of a human trafficker killed by migrants colonists for unknown reasons allegedly avenged his death by killing twenty-six Bangladeshis, and four African migrants colonists in the city of Mizdah.
The former Government of National Accord’s (GNA) Interior Ministry said in a statement that the accused has confessed to the massacre.
"The arrest of the main suspect is a major victory," the then GNA’s Interior Minister and current Prime Minister Fathi Bashagha said. He called it "proof" that such crimes could not be committed with impunity in Libya.

Now that the Middle has been cowed, it's time for the High to crush the Low. Watch for more of this.
[IsraelTimes] Lebanon Hezbollahstan ...The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers, a practice dating back to the heady days of human sacrifice to Baal Moloch... has extradited a man said to be a grandnephew of Saddam Hussein to Iraq, where he is accused of involvement in a massacre by the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... group, a security source says.
Abdullah Sabawi, dubbed the "grandnephew" of the executed dictator by Iraqi media, was extradited on Wednesday, the security official tells AFP on condition of anonymity.
"He is accused of having been a member of IS and having participated in the Speicher massacre" of 2014, in which up to 1,700 air force cadets were executed by the jihadist group, the source adds.
A Lebanese judicial source said Sabawi, born in 1994, "was detained on June 11" following an Interpol notice calling for his arrest over his alleged involvement in the massacre.
"Iraq requested his extradition," the Lebanese source adds.
Sabawi’s family has denied the accusations, telling AFP he had been in Yemen ...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of... at the time of the killings.
The Camp Speicher massacre was considered one of IS’s worst crimes after it took over large parts of Iraq in 2014.
Video footage released by IS showed an assembly-line massacre in which button men herded their victims towards the banks of the Tigris, shot them in the back of the head and pushed them into the river one after the other.
Dozens have been sentenced to death by Iraqi courts over their involvement in the killings, many of them having already been executed.

🔴#BREAKING: #Turkey's warplanes bombs sites of the anti-Ankara Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) in #Duhok's sub-district of Jamangi, north of #Iraqi#Kurdistan.
[IsraelTimes] Officials say Muhammad Abu Zina worked to finance and arm PIJ operatives in northern West Bank after being freed from prison in August.
And now he’ll go back to prison. I wonder if they kept his old cell for him?
A prominent member of the Paleostinian Islamic Jihad ...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah... (PIJ) terror group in the northern West Bank was arrested by Israeli troops on Saturday morning, the military said.
According to a joint statement by the Israel Defense Forces and Shin Bet security service, the suspect, Muhammad Abu Zina, was arrested during a daylight raid in the town of Qabatiya, south of Jenin.
The statement said Zina, a resident of the Jenin refugee camp, was previously tossed in the slammer Maw! They're comin' to get me, Maw! in Israel over his activities in Islamic Jihad. He was released in August this year.
"Immediately upon his release, Muhammad returned to [conducting] significant terror activity, in which he worked to finance and arm PIJ military infrastructure" in the northern West Bank, the IDF and Shin Bet said.
The IDF said that during the operation conducted by troops of the Nahal Brigade’s reconnaissance battalion, Paleostinians hurled bombs and stones at soldiers.
No Israeli troops were hurt in the operation, the army added.
Abu Zina was transferred to the Shin Bet for further questioning.
For all their thousands of years of documented history, Iran has become merely another barbarian land.
[Rudaw] Another two Frenchies have been detained in Iran, La Belle France’s foreign minister said on Saturday, as the corpse count from the countrywide protests against the Iranian regime climb to at least 326.
Colonna confirmed to French publication Le Gay Pareeien that the number of nationals detained in Iran ...The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both... has gone up from five to seven. Last month, the minister had confirmed that five French citizens were being held by Tehran.
"It is more important than ever to remind Iran of its international obligations. If its objective is blackmail, it will not work," Colonna stated, calling Iran’s actions "hostage diplomacy."
"We demand their immediate release, access to consular protection," the minister said. "My Iranian counterpart, with whom I had a long and difficult conversation, has committed to respecting this right of access."
It was not immediately clear what charges were brought against the two whose identities were not revealed.
Last month, Iranian state television ... and if you can't believe state television who can you believe?
broadcast what it called "confessions" by two Frenchies, Cecile Kohler and Jacques Gay Paree, five months after their arrest. Iran’s judiciary accused them of "association and collusion with the aim of undermining the security of the country," charges La Belle France has rejected as being "baseless."
Benjamin Briere, who was detained in 2020, was sentenced in January to over eight years in prison for espionage charges.
La Belle France advised its citizens to leave Iran "as soon as possible" last month as the country continues to be engulfed in protests sparked by the death of a young of Mahsa (Zhina) Amini while in police custody in September.
Iran Human Rights on Saturday raised the latest corpse count of the protests to 326 people, including 43 children.

[NPASYRIA] The US Department of Defense (DoD) improved facilities and services so snuffies of Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... Organization (ISIS) cannot break out detention centers in northeastern Syria.
An official of the DoD told Politico, in an interview, that recently, ISIS snuffies have targeted areas of detention centers multiply, most notably attacking al-Sina’a prison in Hasakah governorate, northeastern Syria.
On January 20, ISIS sleeper cells attacked al-Sina’a prison where thousands of ISIS detainees were held whom captured earlier by Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) during battles against the hardline ISIS.
ISIS attack was coincident with three successive explosions carried out by ISIS sleeper cells to free their fellows out from the prison. Some ISIS detainees managed to escape while others spread in the vicinity of the prison and hid among residential neighborhoods.
"We know that ISIS sees the detention centers, the detainee population, as the path to reconstitute its ranks," the official said.
"The Pentagon sought authority and funding from Congress to make some improvements," according to the source.
The US forces have begun the plan with building guard towers and installing lights to prevent nighttime smuggling.
The purpose of the plan is to build more secure and humane facilities, with access to medical and other services. However, a clean conscience makes a soft pillow... it is expected to take several years.
The long-term solution is repatriating the prisoners to their countries, the source noted.

Why are they trying to stop them? More ISIS means we can ramp the war up again. Spend more money on weapons for Al-Qaeda (Al-Nusra is Syria's affiliate, who are the "good guys" just like the Ukraine nazis.)
Oh I do hope that giving weapons out like candy doesn't come back to hurt us. It worked out well in Afghanistan in the 80s.

It came two weeks after demonstrations flared in Iran over the death of Mahsa Amini, following her arrest for allegedly flouting the country’s strict dress code for women. "Death to Khamenei," chanted men who emerged from mosques in Zahedan after Friday prayers, in a video published by IHR.
The rights group says at least 304 people have been killed at the protests across Iran since Amini’s death on September 16.
It says around a third of them were killed in Sistan-Balochistan, including at least 92 who died on September 30 — in a massacre activists have dubbed "Bloody Friday".
The latest demonstrations come a week after more than a dozen people were killed in a crackdown in Khash, Sistan-Balochistan.
Amnesia Amnesty International said at least 18 protesters, bystanders and worshippers — including two children — were killed in the crackdown on the "largely peaceful protests" in Khash.
Protests resumed Friday in Khash, and dozens of riot police were deployed in Iranshahr, in the same province, online videos verified by AFP showed.
Security forces were seen firing tear gas to disperse protesters in Iranshahr, in footage published by the 1500tasvir monitoring channel.
Iran’s Tasnim news agency said a week of appeals by "counter-revolutionaries" to create trouble 40 days after the Zahedan incident had failed.
Worshippers went home from Iran’s largest Sunni mosque in Zahedan without incident, except for some shouting of anti-government slogans, Tasnim said.
In other locations including Khash, Iranshahr and Rask there had been only "small demonstrations" with anti-government chants, the agency said.
It added that in Iranshahr, demonstrators headed from a Sunni mosque toward a cop shoppe at which they threw stones until security forces intervened.
In Rask, residents burned tires that briefly blocked the road leading to Chabahar port, Tasnim said.
