[GatewayPundit] Yesterday the government asked for more time to respond to U.S. District Judge Amos Mazzant’s September 29, 2022 order directing the FBI to produce all records related to Seth Rich’s laptop. Somewhat relatedly, the FBI is withholding three reports produced by CrowdStrike in August of 2016 regarding the purported hack of the Democratic National Committee.
First the laptop. The FBI wants two more weeks so it can prepare a motion for reconsideration. As a courtesy, we have not objected to the request. According to the government’s motion, "the FBI is uncertain how to comply with the Court’s order as written, and the FBI is seeking input from a pending appellate consultation regarding the order to properly address this issue."
The order itself is pretty straightforward, at least with respect to Seth’s personal laptop, because it directs the FBI to "produce the information it possesses related to Seth Rich’s laptop and responsive to Plaintiff’s FOIA requests within 14 days of this Order." On the other hand, the order does not discuss Seth’s work laptop, which is also in the possession of the FBI.
I’m waiting for the FBI to explain what it thinks needs to be clarified, then I may be filing my own motion for clarification. Meanwhile, the FBI has cited only one narrow basis for withholding the records related to Seth’s laptop, namely his privacy. I’m not sure why it takes four weeks and an appellate lawyer to figure out why the judge did or didn’t get that issue right.
In any event, I’m reminded of something that I learned almost thirty years ago when I was a newspaper reporter: people with nothing to hide don’t try to hide nothing.

IIRC, FBI claimed at the time of Seth Rich's murder that Washington DC police had the laptop and DC police claimed the FBI had it. That's what you call the run around and it means that somebody is lying. So, at least now FBI admits they have possession of it. But then, if the murder took place in the jurisdiction of the DC police, why is the FBI holding evidence related to that murder? Is it because they don't trust the DC police not to spill the beans? Hey, I'm just asking questions.

My hunch is there are names, emails, and social networks on that laptop hard drive that the deep state wants no one to gain knowledge of.
Yes, a blinding flash of the patently obvious....but It's wat I do.

Perhaps the laptop, like Hunters, is still marinating in the unpowered, Faraday cage with a certain low-level magnetic state. No one has ever actually done a cloning or CART recovery. Years may make recover a problem, but no one did anything illegal? ( Computer Analysis Response Team)
[PJMedia] On Wednesday, Joe Biden created a new National Monument. The new monument is in Colorado. The area encompasses 53,804 acres and is well within Colorado’s ski haven, between Leadville and Red Cliff. In addition to being an integral part of the history of the indigenous people of the area, parts of the new monument served as a training ground for the Army’s 10th Mountain Division, which fought in Europe during the Second World War. A press release from the USDA quoted Agriculture Tom Vilsack:
Camp Hale and the 10th Mountain Division are unique in our military history. The men and women who served and trained in this beautiful but punishing landscape made sacrifices for our country and made their mark on the history of the free world. The stunning Camp Hale and Tenmile landscape is a recreation mecca where visitors enjoy alpine hiking, snowmobiling, skiing, camping and more – it is an honored obligation for us to protect this treasured piece of our national heritage.
This area was also home to the Ute people long before recorded history, and their unique cultural perspective and historical knowledge is critical to ensuring that we maintain this area’s many priceless characteristics for generations to come.
Oddly enough, someone in the White House and/or the USDA forgot to talk to the Ute Indian Tribe, which still very much exists, considers the monument part of its territory, and is not happy about the designation at all.
The website Indian Country Today carried the press release from the tribe. The tribe points out that it was never even consulted about the matter, excluded from the event itself. While Biden met with some tribes in the immediate area, he never met with the Ute Tribe itself, specifically with the Uncompahgre band, the band of Utes that originally occupied the area until the 1880s when it was relocated. (As someone who lived on the Ute Reservation and was once married to a tribal member, it may be helpful to explain that the tribe itself is composed of several bands, which exist to this day. Each band at one time held a specific area of land.) The Business Committee, which oversees tribal affairs, stated, “They moved forward with a monument on our homelands without including us. They talk about tribal consultation, but their actions do not match their words. We cannot support a monument on our homelands that does not include the tribe.”
The Committee added:
It is a disgrace to our ancestors to exclude the tribe in the care and protection of these burial sites. We are shocked that 200 years later, nothing has changed. This unlawful action by the President today is a desecration of our ancestors that remain buried on our homelands. Many of these Ute ancestors passed on seeking to protect these lands from further encroachment and others left us as part of the forced death march at the hands of the United States as we were moved out of Colorado at gunpoint. The Ute Indian Tribe will not stand by to accept further genocidal tactics that continue to be perpetuated against our people and our ancestors that came before us. The United States President is doing what the United States has always done and we will use all lawful measures at our disposal to stop this.
The tribe also called the move an act of genocide.
Shaun Chapoose, the Business Committee chairman, was frustrated with Biden’s move. He noted that the tribe has tried to work with the administration, which has paid scant if any attention to tribal issues. This includes the creation of the monument, of which the tribe was unaware until hours before the event. He added, “If it’s a fight they want it’s a fight they will get.”
Once upon a time, a man could make a good living running whiskey and guns to the Indians. Nowadays, they have their own casin0s and Walmarts are everywhere. I suppose that's progress.

I think if every elected official in Washington had to submit to a biometric scan and answer three "security questions" of their choosing every time they entered the Capitol or the White House, most would forget the answers to one or more of the questions almost immediately, thereby locking themselves out of office.
No way could it not be an immediate improvement.

If Sen. Leahy should die, what're the odds the governor of Vermont, a Republican, would appoint another Republican? If so, it'd upset the balance of power in the Senate. Just the idea of it would be a source of endless complaints from the progressives prior to the appointment. Said stream of complaints might persuade the governor to nominate an Independent or a Democrat instead of an R. Sure hope not.
The January 6 committee showed a seven-minute video compilation showing what happened in the hours lawmakers were hiding in a secure location while Trump's supporters stormed the US Capitol
It included scenes of Pelosi phoning for help alongside Republican lawmakers like Mitch McConnell
One clip shows her telling Senate Majority Leader Schumer: 'I'm gonna call the effing Secretary of DoD'
Another video shows Pelosi tersely replying to an officer who refused to give them a timing estimate: 'Just pretend for a moment that we're the Pentagon, or the White House, or some other entity that was under siege'
The hearing concluded with a unanimous surprise vote to subpoena Trump himself
Trump responded on his Truth Social app: 'Why didn't the Unselect Committee ask me to testify months ago? Why did they wait until the very end...Because the Committee is a total "BUST"'
The January 6 committee's Thursday afternoon hearing is the ninth in this current series of presentations
It could be the panel's final public event and its future is uncertain next year
Other new evidence includes Secret Service communications and a video of Mike Pompeo's deposition

See? They almost had 'em! All in one tight barrel. If only they hadn't been armed with just slogans and water bottles. They'll probably never give anyone the chance again. That's what the J6, domestic terror, militia hoopla is all about.

...Let me put a thought out there: The J6 committee now wants to subpoena DJT...less than 48 hours after it becomes clear that Biden has committed an impeachable offense (asking the Saudis to do him a solid and wait on the production cuts till after the election).
As a tailor of my acquaintance once said, "I believe in coincidences. They happen all the time. I just don't trust coincidences."

Mike for the win.

Even the devil gets an advocate but on the J6 committee Donald Trump had no advocate. Only two Republicans were on the committee and neither of them could argue with any credibility that they do not hate Donald Trump. If you're Donald Trump and your defense attorney is Liz Cheney, you're screwed. But then, this is why the J6 committee has no credibility.

Thoughts:
Based on the sham Alex Jones "testimony" show, I would get some clear ground-rules before agreeing.
I am pretty sure that the subpoena has all the force of a Bazooka Joe comic with respect to compelling an appearance of a former president with regard to testimony for his time in office.
There is no chance this takes place before this congress is in lame duck mode.
If the CNN truck shows up in front of Mar Lago, and the tactical team start to rally, we will see whether the Secret Service is as corrupt as the FBI.

Now people are wondering how it just happens that Pelosi had a film crew following her around... Setup?
