[IsraelTimes] Attack targets Shiite Moslem area, home to the minority Hazara ...a grouping of Dari-speaking people of Sino-Tibetan descent inhabiting Afghanistan and Pakistain. They are predominantly Shia Moslems and not particularly warlike, which makes them favored targets... community; no claim of responsibility
A suicide kaboom at a learning center in the Afghan capital killed 19 people as students prepared for exams on Friday morning, police said.
The blast happened in the Dasht-e-Barchi neighborhood of western Kabul, a predominantly Shiite Moslem area home to the minority Hazara community, the scene of some of Afghanistan’s most deadly attacks.
"Students were preparing for an exam when a jacket wallah struck at this educational center. Unfortunately, 19 people have been martyred and 27 others maimed," police front man Khalid Zadran said.
"Security teams have reached the site, the nature of the attack and the details of the casualties will be released later," the interior ministry front man Abdul Nafy Takor earlier tweeted.
"Attacking civilian targets proves the enemy’s inhuman cruelty and lack of moral standards."
The Taliban ...Arabic for students... ’s return to power in Afghanistan last year brought an end to the two-decade war and a significant reduction in violence, but security has begun to deteriorate in recent months under the hardline Islamists.
Afghanistan’s Shiite Hazaras have faced persecution for decades, with the Taliban accused of abuses against the group when they first ruled from 1996 to 2001. Such accusations picked up again after they swept back to power.
Hazaras are also the frequent target of attacks by the Taliban’s enemy the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... group. Both consider them heretics.
Countless attacks have devastated the area, with many targeting children, women and schools.
Last year, before the return of the Taliban, at least 85 people — mainly girl students — were killed and about 300 maimed when three bombs went kaboom! near their school in Dasht-e-Barchi.
No group grabbed credit, but a year earlier IS claimed a suicide attack on an educational center in the same area that killed 24, including students.
In May 2020, the group was blamed for a bloody gun attack on a maternity ward of a hospital in the neighborhood that killed 25 people, including new mothers.
And in April this year, two deadly kabooms at separate education centers in the area killed six people and maimed at least 20 others.
Education is a flashpoint issue in Afghanistan, with the Taliban blocking many girls from returning to secondary education, while the Islamic State also stand against the education of women and girls.
NURISTAN REVOLT – Reports coming out of the Mandol District in Nuristan suggest the local populace rose up against the Taliban administrative leadership in response to the execution of a popular local man who headed the district police under the former regime. According to early reporting, the local citizens gathered to protest the killing and, at some point, decided to seize the District headquarters. The District Governor reportedly fled and many local eyewitnesses stated that they believed the Governor was responsible for the murder. A source in Kabul stated the Ministry of the Interior was considering sending a force to reinstall the Governor and punish locals who are considered ringleaders in the mutiny.
FEMALE PROTEST BROKEN UP BY TALIBAN IN KABUL – Multiple news outlets have shared videos of a protest organized by Female Afghan activists on Thursday to demonstrate solidarity with the women of Iran that was disrupted by Taliban security forces when they began firing in the air to disperse the crowd. Several sources claim that multiple arrests have been made and some of the leaders are in the custody of the morality police.
POSSIBLE DIPLOMATIC ROW BETWEEN CHINA AND THE TALIBAN – Several inside sources say that China and the Taliban remain at odds over the failure of the Taliban to turn over several Uyghur militants wanted for questioning by Chinese authorities. Several articles have appeared in the last week that claims China has announced multiple investment projects in Afghanistan but has delivered very little. Sources in the palace say the investment projects are being used as leverage to gain custody of the Uyghurs sheltering in Afghanistan.
AFGHAN WOMEN POSSIBLY TARGETED IN PHISHING OPERATION – Several at-risk Afghans have shared messages they have received on messaging platforms over the last four days which appear to be suspicious and may be an attempt to compromise their identities to the Taliban. In some of the messages, men claiming to be a representative of the Ahmadyar Group (name - Ahmad Shakib Ahmadyar) and an unidentified Canada/Germany evacuation group (name - Khalid Faizi) have reached out to women in Afghanistan. The Afghan Digest reached out to the Ahmadyar Group to attempt to verify if they were sponsoring an evacuation effort and did not receive a response. We assess the messages could be a phishing attempt by the Taliban’s new cyber unit to identify people and/or a scam by criminal groups to steal money or traffic women/girls. We recommend that at-risk Afghans block the messages until the sources can be authenticated.
IRAN JOINS GROUP OF NATIONS CONCERNED ABOUT THE THREAT OF TERRORISM IN AFGHANISTAN – The Iranian representative to the UN, Zahra Ershadi, said the re-emergence of terrorism in Afghanistan poses a global threat. She went on to urge the Taliban to form an inclusive government. The Taliban has pushed back on claims of a growing terror threat within the country but seems to selectively choose which states are rebuked publicly for making such claims.
HAQQANI INTERVENES IN THE KUCHI LAND REFORM DISPUTE – Interior Minister Sarajuddin Haqqani traveled to Khost to meet with leaders of both local inhabitants and the Kuchi tribe in an attempt to de-escalate the conflict over land reform. Little of value appeared to be said other than some placating remarks and promises for the Taliban leadership to do better. It is likely the violence will continue.
CONFLICT TRACKER Takhar:A small NRF raiding force attacked a Talib garrison in the Baharak district during the night, wounding 2 Talibs.
Takhar: NRF forces attacked a house in The Dasht-e-Qala district in a noght rqid Wednesday. Talib commander Qari Khelan was killed and 5 Taliban were wounded in the operation.
Takhar: The NRF struck a Talib checkpoint in Farkhar district yesterday evening in a hit-and-run operation. 1 Talib fighter was killed and 3 more were said to be wounded.
Badakhshan: Clashes between Taliban and NRF fighters have been reported in the following districts: Yafta Bala, Raghistan, Kohistan, Maimai, and Kran Wa Manjan. Local sources reported 18 have been killed so far in the fighting, but could not determine which side they belonged to,

POTENTIAL FOR MORE ARRESTS AFTER WOMEN’S PROTEST – Sources within the Ministry of the Interior claimed intelligence agents were attempting to screen social media posts from the demonstration in Kabul. They are looking for leaders of the demonstration among the photos and videos posted on social media. At-risk Afghans are encouraged to remove videos and photos they may have posted and to scour their social media for names or other identifying information that could compromise activists.
TALIBAN FORCES HEADING TO NURISTAN – A late report stated that a column of vehicles was being sent to Nuristan to quell the revolt and reinstall the District Governor to his seat. Previous incidences of public dissent have been dealt with harshly by the Taliban and violence is a strong possibility.

[ShabellecMedia] The Ottoman Turkish-trained elite forces from the Gorgor brigade have conducted an operation near the Basra area on the outskirts of the capital, Mogadishu.
The troops targeted an al-Shabaab ...... the Islamic version of the old Somali warlord... base in an area called Sabya, where heavy fighting was reported during the cover operation. The details of the casualties are yet to be confirmed.
The agriculture-rich village lies between Afgoye and Bal’ad towns, about 35Km northwest of Mogadishu. The area was a hotbed of terror, which the faceless myrmidons used as a staging base.
The army officials say they destroyed the al-Shabaab camp and killed several krazed killers.
The situation returned to normal after the operation and local residents said business was back to work and there are no al-Shabaab krazed killers’ activities.
[Garowe] al-Shabaab ...... the personification of Somali state failure... waged a retaliatory attack on Thursday in the Hiiraan region of Somalia, local authorities reported, just as fighting with the al-Qaeda-linked group and the country's army with the support of local militia, who have been instrumental in the war.
Reports indicate that elder Elmi Hagar Gure who comes from the renowned Hawadle clan within the Beledweyne city just about 40 kilometers off the El Qohle village was killed instantly following an al-Shabaab ambush. The clear scene was precisely in Muqakoori District.
Eyewitnesses said al-Shabaab bully boyz launched a dawn attack on Thursday morning from a base that was recently liberated from the al-Shabaab bully boyz by the Somali National Army and local militia, who have been fighting to restore order in the country.
Odd sort of liberation when the former residents still have full access and use of the place...
Investigations done by the media indicated that Gure was part of a locally-organized militia known as Macawisley, fighting alongside government troops against Al-Shabaab. The militia has been fighting alongside the national army.
Given his contributions to the liberation of Somalia, Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre sent condolences to the family of the dear departed. The Prime Minister said the dear departed was a martyr of what he has been fighting against for several years.

[GREATERKASHMIR] Twin explosions in two parked passenger buses within eight hours rocked Udhampur, leaving two persons injured.
According to Police, ’sticky bombs’ were triggered by timers.
The Police indicated the involvement of a terror module in the earth-shattering kaboom.
Both explosions occurred in the buses of the Ramnagar-Basantgarh route parked in Udhampur town.
ADGP Jammu Zone Mukesh Singh said: "A mysterious explosion occurred in a parked passenger bus at 10:30 pm on Wednesday near a petrol pump at Domail Chowk in Udhampur in which two persons sustained minor injuries. Both are out of danger."
Another blast occurred at around 6 am in another parked bus at the old bus stand in Udhampur.
No one was injured in the incident but the vehicles parked nearby were damaged due to the intensity of the earth-shattering kaboom.
Immediately after the earth-shattering kabooms, the area was cordoned off and searches were started.
ADGP Jammu Zone Mukesh Singh, DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range Sulieman Choudhary, and SSP Udhampur Vinod Kumar reached the earth-shattering kaboom site.
The teams of intelligence agencies, J&K Police, CRPF, FSL, and the Army’s bomb disposal squad also reached there.
The SIA teams also reached there to examine the earth-shattering kaboom site.
The security agencies rounded up two suspects for investigation.
According to sources, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) experts are likely to assist the Police investigation.
The explosion site in Udhampur Bus Stand has been cleared for investigation purposes.
Similarly, the site near the petrol pump at Domail, Udhampur has also been sealed by the investigating agencies.
Following the earth-shattering kabooms in Udhampur, security installations were put on high alert in Udhampur, and checking was intensified in Jammu Bus Stand and Katra in the wake of the Navratri festival.
The Special Operations Group (SOG) of the J&K Police started checking and searching passenger vehicles in Samba.
In Kishtwar, Police checked the vehicles and interacted with the people at the bus stand, and asked them to keep a vigil.
After taking a review of the situation at both the earth-shattering kaboom sites in Udhampur, ADGP Jammu Zone, Mukesh Singh told journalists that the investigation was being conducted on different points.
"As per the preliminary examination of the buses, the earth-shattering kabooms in both the buses have certain similarities," he said.
Quoting the preliminary investigation, Singh said, "There is a possibility of the use of sticky bombs although nothing can be confirmed at this moment since the investigation is on with the registration of two FIRs. There is also a possibility of use of timers with high explosives and Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs)."
He said that the Police were already working on different modules of the terror network.
"This exposition seems to be a handiwork of one such terror module. It is part of the investigation whether these IEDs or sticky bombs were planted when there was no one in these buses," Singh said. "Different teams of security agencies including a team of the Army and a bomb disposal squad came to visit the earth-shattering kaboom sites. We are consulting with them as well."
He expressed hope of a breakthrough in the earth-shattering kaboom cases saying that the Police were working on some old leads of terror activities.
Meanwhile, ...back at the chili cook-off, Chuck slipped the habañero into the roasted jalapeño... Vijay Kumar, driver of a mini-bus and one of the two injured in the Domail petrol pump explosion said, "I received minor injuries in my head. I was sleeping in the mini-bus when the earth-shattering kaboom occurred on the Basantgarh-Ramnagar route near the petrol pump in Udhampur. I had damaged pieces of windows and blood on my face. It was the petrol pump employees who rescued me and I was shifted to District Hospital Udhampur in a Police vehicle."
The minibus was parked close to the passenger bus that was damaged in the late Wednesday evening explosion at Domail Chowk, Udhampur.

[IsraelTimes] The Israel Defense Forces says it recently arrested a number of students at the Birzeit University near Ramallah for allegedly funneling funds for the Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood, terror group.
Avichay Adraee, the IDF’s Arabic-language front man says on Twitter that the students were arrested in possession of credit cards they used to finance Hamas activities in the West Bank.
The funds allegedly came from Hamas in Gazoo ...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... , as well as operatives based in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...just another cheapjack Moslem dictatorship, brought to you by the Moslem Brüderbund... , Adraee says.
Adraee says the money would be brought into the West Bank by couriers under the guise of humanitarian cases or for work purposes, and then the suspects would withdraw it from ATMs in Ramallah.
Israel often arrests Paleostinian university students in the West Bank for affiliation with Hamas or other terror groups.
