[SAHARAREPORTERS] At least 106 bodies were buried on Monday following the recent attacks on communities in Plateau State.
Chairman of Kanam Local Government Area of the state, Dayabu Garga, gave the update in an interview on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Thursday.
The fresh attacks were carried out on Sunday by button men on some communities in the adjoining Kanam and Wase local government areas of the state.
The affected communities are Kukawa, Gyambawu, Dungur, Kyaram, Yelwa, Dadda, Wanka, Shuwaka, Gwammadaji, and Dadin Kowa.
"I was present on Monday morning where we did mass burial of 106 killed and we are still picking more dead bodies in the farmlands because when they meet you on the farm, they will shoot you and move to another farm.
"And we are still picking more bodies. Even till today, we are still finding dead bodies on the farmlands. In the hospital we have more than 16 people hospitalised; someone right now has a bullet in the head, maybe they will do an operation either today or tomorrow to remove the bullet.
"I think the issue is so much devastating; until when you go there, you will almost shed tears. It happened on Sunday, on Monday, we moved in there to help them gather the dead bodies and bury (them).
"We buried 106 bodies that day but before leaving, they were still getting more bodies on the farmlands. These people require protection, we need to have security outfits, either army or MOPOL (Mobile police). We need food items, we have sent some food items but they are not enough."

The Department of Foreign Relations of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) handed over, on Thursday, 10 ISIS children of Russian nationality to an official delegation of Russia.
The Russian delegation was headed by Elena Alexandrov, assistant to the office of Maria Lvova Belova, the office of the Children’s Rights Commissioner for the President of the Russian Federation.
The Russian delegation was received by the front man of the AANES Department of Foreign Relations, Kamal Akef.
During a presser held in the Department of Foreign Relations, Akaf said, "today we hand over 10 Russian children of ISIS members’ families to their country."
The new batch brings total toll of the repatriated Russian children to 254, according to Akef.
Akef stressed the AANES’ continuity in cooperation with Russia and all other countries which have national children of ISIS families in northeast Syria.
For its part, the Russian delegation expressed gratefulness to AANES for the cooperation in the children repatriation process.
In regard to the repatriation of the Russian children in a collective way, Alexandrov said "this issue is difficult and needs measures. Therefore, Russia will repatriate their citizens on batches."
The number of Russian children in Roj camp alone is about 100, according to the camp management.
There are more than 7,000 foreign children of ISIS orphans, with more than 50 nationalities, in addition to approximately 18,000 Iraqi children in the camps of northeastern Syria.
In July 2021, the AANES handed over 20 ISIS children to Russia, and in April 2021, it repatriated 34.

[JPost] The strike on Thursday night was the second alleged Israeli airstrike to hit Syria in the past week.
An alleged Israeli airstrike targeted sites near Damascus on Thursday night, in the second Israeli strike in Syria in a week, according to Syrian reports.
Syrian air defenses responded to the strike, with only material damage being caused by the strike, according to Syrian state news agency SANA. The strike was carried out from over the Golan Heights.
The strike targeted sites near the towns of Rakhlah and Qatana, southwest of Damascus, according to the Lebanese Al-Mayadeen TV. The Scientific Studies and Research Center in Jamraya was also targeted, according to the Step News Agency.
The Scientific Studies and Research Center in Jamraya was last targeted by an alleged Israeli airstrike in February, according to the Syrian Capital Voice news site. A Syrian soldier and five civilians were killed in that strike.
The strike on Thursday night was the second alleged Israeli airstrike to hit Syria in the past week.
Israel has fired several missiles toward Syrian military positions near Damascus, causing material damage, Syria’s military said Friday.
State media quoted an unnamed military official as saying that the attack occurred shortly before midnight Thursday, adding that some of the Israeli missiles were shot down by Syrian air defenses.
The Britannia-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, an opposition war monitor, said the missiles struck positions of Iran-backed fighters southwest of the capital, near the suburb of Qatana.
[REDSTATE] A jury in Alexandria, Virginia, Thursday convicted a member of the brutal ISIS terror cell known as "The Beatles." The group was particularly savage, even by terrorists’ standards, and reportedly beheaded three hostages while subjecting a fourth to unimaginable cruelty.
The group was dubbed "The Beatles" because of their British accents. The charges included lethal hostage-taking and conspiracy to commit murder.
According to Rooters, the convicted terrorist, whose name I don’t care enough to type, could have faced a possible death sentence ...the barbaric practice of sentencing a murderer to be punished for as long as his/her/its victim is dead... . Prosecutors, however, have indicated they will only seek life in prison. Why?!
RedState’s Bonchie in a 2019 article described how the two surviving members of the group angled to get extradited to the United States instead of facing a judge in Iraq, where they doubtless would have been treated more harshly. (A third member, known as "Jihadi John," was blown away in a Hellfire missile dronezap in Syria in 2015. Another was caught by Ottoman Turkish security and sent to prison.)
The remaining pair refused to accept responsibility for their crimes. CNN ...the organization formerly known as the Cable News Network. Now who knows what it might stand for... interviewed them in 2018:
Confronted by CNN with the fact several of their former hostages and alleged victims had said they recognized their faces and voices from previous interviews, Elsheikh declined to comment on what he said would be a legal matter. "It’s just an accusation, legally speaking. You know, if Britannia said ’we are going to deal with you by barbaric law, or with law from the medieval ages,’ then hang, draw and quarter me. But that’s not the case. I’m just merely pointing that out." Kotey offered a similarly veiled denial and refused to be drawn on specific allegations.
