[NYPOST] Virginia’s Loudoun County School Board, which was accused of covering up the sexual assault of a high school girl last year, could be voted out of office en masse in November if Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin gets his way.
According to a bill amendment backed by Youngkin, all nine board members would be up for re-election this year, 12 months earlier than previously scheduled, according to ABC7.
Following that election, five members would be up for re-election two years down the line while the other four would not face the voters again until 2026.
The proposal will need to be approved by Virginia’s legislature to go into effect.
Youngkin’s amendment follows his day-one order for the commonwealth’s attorney general to investigate potential wrongdoing by board members and the school district regarding the sexual assaults.
The attacks made national news after Virginia parent Scott Smith was arrested during a June 22 school district meeting as he confronted officials over an attack on his daughter in a bathroom at Stone Bridge High School in Ashburn on May 28. Smith claimed at the meeting that his daughter had been accosted by a "boy in a skirt."
A 15-year-old boy was later charged in that assault as well as an Oct. 6 attack at nearby Broad Run High School. He was later found guilty in both attacks and sentenced to supervised probation in a residential treatment facility until the age of 18
[Epoch Times]Because cases are up -
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has extended the federal mask mandate for transportation for two more weeks, citing the small recent increase in COVID-19 cases. The order will remain in place until May 3, to let officials at the agency assess whether the BA.2 virus subvariant drives a fresh wave of cases. Because cases are down -
The CDC’s move came after it said it would allow Title 42, a pandemic-era order that enabled quick expulsion of illegal immigrants because they may carry the virus that causes COVID-19, to expire.
Dr. Rochelle Walensky, the CDC’s director, said the action was taken because COVID-19 cases fell by over 95 percent between January and March and because more of the population has some form of immunity from vaccination and/or prior infection.

Given the enormous surplus of useless NON-MEDICAL masks in stores at deeply discounted prices (eg. 50 for $10 - formerly $25+ a box, OR Hand Sanitizer 3oz bottles now 4 for a $1 - formerly $3.95 ea)
Likely stores will be begging for a 6 month continuation.
Which also brings up the question of Price Gouging Laws were not enforced during a declared National Emergency.
[FOX] U.S. lawmakers are reportedly questioning California Sen. Dianne Feinstein's capacity to do her job at her age.
Senators and other officials are reportedly concerned that Diane Feinstein, 88, is no longer mentally competent enough to do her job as a lawmaker, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. Feinstein's critics, however, have declined to speak on the record and asked to have their names withheld.
"I have worked with her for a long time and long enough to know what she was like just a few years ago: always in command, always in charge, on top of the details, basically couldn’t resist a conversation where she was driving some bill or some idea. All of that is gone," an anonymous lawmaker told the Chronicle.
"She was an intellectual and political force not that long ago,
...political, yes. But intellectual is not a word I ever thought to see attached to her name...
and that’s why my encounter with her was so jarring. Because there was just no trace of that," the lawmaker allegedly continued.
"It’s bad, and it’s getting worse," a Democratic senator reportedly told the Chronicle.
Sources speaking to the Chronicle about the issue remained anonymous.
In particular, Feinstein has defended any perceived distractions as a consequence of her husband's tragic death due to cancer earlier this year.
"The last year has been extremely painful and distracting for me, flying back and forth to visit my dying husband who passed just a few weeks ago," Feinstein's office told Fox News Digital in a statement. "But there’s no question I’m still serving and delivering for the people of California, and I’ll put my record up against anyone’s."

My theory is, the ones who want to stay and steal more, just buy them out early, they are going to cost us either way. The ones who actually want to wield political power, that's a straight up disqualifier and you euthanize those ones immediately.

With Cali politics the way they are, Brylcreem will have to appoint some sort of gawdawful freak to fill her term, or the dem base will go insane. Watch him appoint someone even the current crop of dems have trouble agreeing to seat.

Think of the contortions Newsom is going through trying to figure out how to appoint himself?

If he could "transition," Cali voters might go for it. The surgery can be rushed (he'll give himself a waiver on the "counseling,") but I don't think the hormones work that quickly.

Someone needs to get her into a conversation with Biden and record everything they say. Comedy gold.
[FOXNEWS] More than 50 House Republicans Wednesday are pressing Customs and Border Protection (CBP) over the possibility it may use Veterans Affairs (VA) medical personnel to stem an expected migrant border surge.
The letter comes a little over a month before the May 23 end date for the Title 42 policy — a Trump-era public health order that allows for the expulsion of most migrants entering the U.S. because of COVID-19.
After President Biden announced earlier this month he would end the order, fears grew over a potential surge of migrants to the southern border as a result. Fox News reported shortly before Biden's announcement that CBP was considering the idea to have VA personnel assist in taking care of the migrants.

Maybe already happening; i had an app’t for 11April, had been set for some time, only to get a call cancelling it. Asked why, and was told the dr is not available. Asked about reschedule: we’ll get back to you.
Previously reasons for cancellations were clearly stated;’unavailable’ is suspect.
