[NYPOST] Federal agents seized more than $700,000 worth of cocaine at the U.S.-Mexico border, authorities announced Friday.
The Customs and Border Protection said field operations members on Thursday "intercepted" 37 packages of the drug, weighing more than 92 pounds, hidden inside a white Chevrolet van crossing the Hidalgo International Bridge.
The bridge connects the Rio Grande and Mexican state of Tamaulipas, according to CNN ...formerly the Cable News Network, now who know what it might stand for... The narcotics were valued at $715,00, according to CBP.
"Our CBP officers remain vigilant and rely on their experience and all available tools and resources to thwart this smuggling attempt," said Carlos Rodriguez, director of the Hidalgo/Pharr/Anzalduas Port of Entry.
CBP’s Office of Field Operations seized both the cocaine and the car, and the case is being investigated by special agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement-Homeland Security Investigations, CBS said.

[IsraelTimes] Oil tanker rescues four people from North Africa but returns them to Libya, according to Doctors Without Borders
More than 90 people in an overcrowded boat drowned in the Mediterranean Sea, a prominent humanitarian group said, in the latest tragedy involving migrants colonists departing from North Africa to seek a better life in Europe.
Doctors Without Borders said late Saturday that the migrants colonists were on a vessel that left Libya last week. It was unclear exactly when the boat ran into trouble, said Juan Matias Gil, the group’s head of mission.
The group, also known by its French acronym MSF, said an oil tanker rescued four migrants colonists early Saturday in international waters. The survivors reported that they were on the boat along with about 100 other migrants colonists, it said.
MSF said the tanker did not respond to its calls not to return the migrants colonists to Libya, where "they will almost certainly face detention, abuse and ill-treatment."
The group urged Italia and Malta to "assign a place of safety for the survivors before it is too late." It also called for The European Union ...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing... border protection agency Frontex and other EU agencies to reveal the details of the incident.
Moslem colonists Migrants regularly attempt to cross the Mediterranean from the North African nation in a desperate attempt to reach European shores. The country has emerged as the dominant transit point for migrants colonists fleeing war and poverty in Africa and the Middle East.
Human traffickers in recent years have benefited from the chaos in Libya, smuggling in migrants colonists across the oil-rich country’s lengthy borders with six nations. The migrants colonists are then typically packed into ill-equipped rubber boats and set off on risky sea voyages.
Around 300 migrants colonists died or were presumed dead along the Central Mediterranean route between Jan. 1 and March 28, according to International Organization for Migration. About 3,100 were intercepted and taken back to Libya.
Once back in Libya, the migrants colonists are typically taken to government-run detention centers rife with abuse and ill-treatment.
In 2021, at least 32,425 migrants colonists were intercepted and returned to Libya. At least 1,553 are presumed to have drowned last year, according to IOM.

[An Nahar] A tanker carrying badly needed fuel arrived in Yemen ...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of... 's blockaded port of Hodeida on Sunday, as a cease-fire meant to stop the fighting in the war-torn country for two months entered its first full day.
The truce agreement, which took effect Saturday evening, allows for shipments of fuel to arrive in Hodeida and for passenger flights to resume from the airport in the capital of Sanaa. Both Hodeida and Sanaa are held by the Iranian-backed Iran's Houthi sock puppets ...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The legitimate Yemeni government has accused the them of having ties to the Iranian government. Honest they did. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews They like shooting off... ummm... missiles that they would have us believe they make at home in their basements. On the plus side, they did murder Ali Abdullah Saleh, which was the only way the country was ever going to be rid of him... rebels.
The agreement comes after a significant escalation in hostilities in recent weeks that saw the Houthis claim several attacks across the country's borders, targeting the United Arab Emirates and Soddy Arabia ...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face... Essam al-Motwakel, front man for the Houthi-run oil corporation, said the Saudi-led coalition allowed the vessel — carrying mazut, a low-quality fuel oil — into the port at Hodeida. The port handles about 70% of Yemen's commercial and humanitarian imports.
He called on U.N. envoy Hans Grundberg, to work with the coalition and accelerate the arrival of other vessels to ease a longtime fuel crisis in Houthi-held areas.
During the two-month truce, the Saudi-led coalition will allow 18 vessels carrying fuel into the port of Hodeida, and two commercial flights a week from the Yemeni capital to Jordan and Egypt, according to a copy of the truce obtained by The News Agency that Dare Not be Named.
The U.N. envoy has called for both sides to agree on opening roads around Taiz and other provinces, the cease-fire document said. Taiz, which remains partially held by the forces fighting on behalf of the internationally recognized government, has been blockaded by the Houthis for years.
"The success of this initiative will depend on the warring parties' continued commitment to implementing the truce agreement with its accompanying humanitarian measures," Grundberg said Saturday in announcing the truce had taken effect.

[IsraelTimes] Rioters again hurl glass bottles, other objects at police; officers respond with riot dispersal measures, using stun grenades and batons while arresting 10
Paleostinian rioters clashed with the Israel Police near Jerusalem’s Damascus Gate on Sunday for the second night of Ramadan in a row. Officers responded far more forcefully, using riot dispersal measures, while carrying out arrests.
Handfuls of rioters hurled glass bottles, rocks, and other objects at a police checkpoint, as was the case on Saturday night.
On Saturday, police managed to contain the situation without using riot dispersal measures, while arresting four. One officer was lightly injured after being struck by a bottle.
Sunday night saw police hurl stun grenades, beat protesters with batons and scatter rioters while on horseback. Police said they arrested at least 10 suspects. A number of arrests were carried out by plain-clothed officers who embedded themselves into the crowd.
A number of the bottles hurled by rioters struck Moslem worshipers as they returned from evening prayers at the al-Aqsa Mosque compound. Protesters also lit fire to a dumpster near the Old City’s Damascus Gate.
Earlier Sunday, Foreign Minister Yair Lapid toured the Damascus Gate area with Police Commissioner Kobi Shabtai and politicians from his Yesh Atid party.
Lapid told officers, "We give you full backing," as he was given a security briefing by Shabtai and other senior officers, including Jerusalem District Commander Turgeman.
"This is a difficult, tense period, but we have a police force that can be relied on to get us through this complex period," he said, according to a statement from his office.
Lapid added that over 8,000 coppers will be deployed across the country during the upcoming Passover holiday.
The visit was condemned by the Paleostinian Authority Foreign Ministry as a "provocation," which accused Lapid of inciting against Paleostinians.
The PA insisted that Jewish bandidosLions of Islam were the ones putting public order at risk in Jerusalem, in an apparent reference to visits by Jewish ultra-nationalists to the Temple Mount, and the recent takeover of the Petra Hotel near the Old City’s Jaffa Gate by the far-right Ateret Cohanim group.
Lapid was also joined Sunday by Economy Minister Orna Barbivai and Deputy Public Security Minister Yoav Segalovich.
According to a statement from Lapid’s office, Shabtai said police are at "peak readiness," citing Ramadan and the recent attacks.
[IsraelTimes] Yamam officers take the man, who was in Israel illegally, for questioning, alleging intention to carry out ’terror activity’ amid string of deadly attacks
Undercover officers from the police’s Yamam counterterrorism unit arrested a Paleostinian man on the Route 6 highway Sunday night, who was suspected of planning a terror attack, police said.
The suspect, who was in Israel illegally, was detained near the Nahshonim Junction. Law enforcement officials said he was suspected of "intending to carry out terror activity."
He was taken for further questioning by the Shin Bet security agency, which had also provided Israel Police with the intelligence on the suspect’s location and alleged intent.
It was not immediately clear what kind of attack the suspect was planning, or where. According to Hebrew media reports, the suspect was unarmed at the time of his arrest.
The highway was briefly closed during the arrest operation.
The arrest comes following a series of deadly terror attacks in Israel within a span of days that left 11 people dead and put Israeli security forces on heightened alert. The escalation has come as the Moslem holy month of Ramadan begins — often a period of high tension in Israel and the West Bank.
Earlier on Sunday, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said Israel was entering a period of "vigilant routine" as security forces work to prevent further terror attacks.
"Terrorists have all kinds of ideas, so we are on high alert, both the Shin Bet and the Israel Police, to identify any hint of an idea or plan for an attack, and thwart it in advance," Bennett said, after troops killed three button men who were allegedly en route from the Jenin area to carry out an attack in Israel in the predawn hours of Saturday. The Yamam unit was also involved in the incident near Jenin.
Israel has ramped up security measures in response to the attacks and deployed additional forces to the West Bank, Gazoo ...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... border and major cities such as Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.
[IsraelTimes] Muhammad Mruh Kabha killed the mother of six in a gruesome terror attack in December 2020, reportedly as vengeance for the death of a security prisoner
Muhammad Mruh Kabha
...also spelt Mohammad Maroh Kabaha...
was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Samaria Military Court on Sunday for murdering Esther Horgen, an Israeli from the Tal Menashe settlement in the northern West Bank.
Handing down its decision, the court said, "This is a case that shocks the soul" and called Kabha’s actions an "inconceivable evil."
On December 20, 2020, Horgen, 52, a mother of six, went for a hike in the Reihan forest, near her home in Tal Menashe. Kabha, who had been waiting in the area for a potential victim to pass by, chased her and knocked her to the ground.
Horgen tried to fight him off but he pinned her down and then repeatedly hit her over the head with large rocks, causing her to bleed and breaking bones in her arms and chest, until she stopped moving, according to the indictment against him.
"Hearing once again the detailed description of this horrific crime brings us back to very difficult moments and underscores the importance of the court really using all the power given to it by the legislature to take part in the war on terror," Esther’s widower, Benjamin Horgen, said, according to Ynet.
In October, Kabha was convicted of "intentionally causing death," equivalent in military law to murder, as well as an additional charge of conspiracy to shoot at a person. In addition to life imprisonment, Kabha was sentenced to three years in prison and ordered by the court to pay monetary compensation of NIS 3 million ($940 million).
Whoops! As I type, 1 New Israeli Shekel equals US$0.31, so that’s $935,778. The reporter misplaced the decimal
Kabha, 40, from Tura al-Gharbiya near Jenin, was suspected by the Shin Bet security agency of carrying out the terror attack as a form of vengeance for the death of a security prisoner, Kamel Abu Waer, who died of cancer six weeks before the murder.
The Horgen family’s attorney, Maurice Hirsch, criticized the policy of the Paleostinian Authority to pay stipends to the families of Paleostinian security prisoners through the Paleostinian Authority Martyrs Fund, known derisively as "pay for slay."
"During the life of this vile killer in prison, he will earn over NIS 4 million from the Paleostinian Authority. He will enjoy it, his family will enjoy these funds, the Paleostinian Authority will rebuild his destroyed house," he said. "And the Israeli government is doing nothing. The court has gone a long way this morning, even with the compensation ruling, but it is not enough."
Last February, the IDF demolished Kabha’s home in the village of Tura al-Gharbiya.
Horgen’s murder sparked several days of tension in the West Bank. The Israeli security services reported 13 incidents of stone-throwing by settlers against Paleostinians in the days immediately following the killing.
